  1. Ok combat is effectively over so Ill stop at this point. For Reference we have: Blod - 2 HP - unharmed Tsunami - Bruised - 2 HP Crimson Tiger - Bruised - 4 HP The Ship is 5 Rounds from collision with FC Naval Base! Blod senses the Captain is concealing something, and is hopeful of some kind of "victory" Crimson Tiger needs a Sense Motive Roll. DC 10
  2. GM This time, the Devil Ray was beaten, and he knew it, the force of the water sent him tumbling through the sea's like a pebble in a Tsunami - appropriately enough. His servo motors leaked smoked and oil, and went crazy. As he was spinning away, his motors cut in and started propelling the unconscious mercenary like a torpedo, away from the ship and out into the open ocean. The man had clearly been knocked unconscious - his limbs were heavy and floated limp, pulled to his body by the water he ploughed through. But somehow, the very blow that had knocked him out and crippled his armor had also caused a malfunction that was saving the mercenaries skin. Whatever God's of the sea looked on, they had clearly blessed the man with a dose of fortune beyond his right to expect!
  3. It does indeed (I forgot to say DR is switching to attack bonus this round) He has three bruises already... 1d20+9=10 well that is technically a knockout!!! In order to keep Devil Ray out of prison, Im going to GM Fiat that as a stroke of escape luck, and award Tsunami and HP, Post IC and I will reply! Tsunami 3 HP
  4. GM "Shut yer mouth, missy!" said the cultist, who, from the sounds of it, was not one of their brightest recruits. "I'm gonna be speaking just fine! I got a lifetime of speaking ahead of ,....argh!" he screamed. Revenants blow blissfully knocked him unconscious, which was a blessing. The man landed on his chainsaw, which tore open his sternum. Fortunately the chainsaw died before anything truly gruesome could happen, but there was no doubt about it - the main had sustained a serous chest injury, from the blood and the sucking sounds his chest was making. He wasn't going to walk away from that one - he clumsiness may have cost him his life. "There it is!" smiled Detective Chance, hey eyes and scar glistening in the strange light of the Native American wooden idol. WIthout hesitation, and ignoring the melee around her, she darted forward and picked it up... "You'll pay for this, bear!" shouted the maddened smile of the Cult Leader. "Gauntlet will rip you and your friends to pieces! There will be no mercy! The Beast Rune will be plucked from your cold dead corpse!!!"
  5. And he is out, with another Comedy Chainsaw accident. The guy manages to severely injure himself, and is dying. This is a complication, I will award HP for suitable reactions. Of course, he is an evil cultist who was trying to chainsaw you guys in half. Detective Chance will move forward and grab the Native Artifact. The Cult Leader will, as a free action, use Animal Mimicy power to shift to the strength of an elephant. Gaining 2 Points of protection, +10 Strength, +4 Constitution, and Super Strength 2. This gives him a +9 Bonus for inflicting damage on the snare...or a DC 24 Tough Save... it gets 1d20+10=16 which is enough to injure it alone. Whilst he is about it, he throws an intimidate at Marcus as a move action: I'm giving him a -2 penalty on top of -5 for move action as he has bound (he would have more, but hey, Gauntlet is up) 1d20+5=25 ouch! a DC 25 Will/Sense Motive save for Arcturus. And then Arcturus is up!
  6. GM Under the angry waves of the storm, the turbulence was no less furious, and Tsunami could feel the flows wrap around the ship, propelling it forward by some mysterious force. It was no wonder her blast missed given the anger of the sea. Devil Ray shook his head and regained his posture, more at home underwater than in the air. "Challenge me here would you?" boomed the electronic voice. "This is my domain, child! mine! I thought I had disposed of you in the air. I won't make the same mistake down here!" he boasted. There was no doubt that his armor had seen worse days, with whining and complaining servo-motors from the battering he had received. There was even a splash of blood oozing into the ocean from Blod's knives. But Devil Ray was no down yet. He launched himself like a torpedo, his arms thrust forward to smash Tsunami. Strong and powerful he was, but the torrents of the water and Tsunami's reactions were too much, as he sailed past her...
  7. It is, unfortunately! The Battle underwater continues! I'll skip Crimson's turn this round, as its basically monitoring the stiff who is disabling the engine (as per previous). So Devil Ray finally gets a chance to get back at Tsunami! He can take 10 on his swimming roll to get 22 and thus plow through the storm as a move Action Standard Action will be a straight Punch at Tsunami! 1d20+8=15 is a miss again! Round 12 25 - Blod - 2 HP - On Deck 24 - Tsunami - Bruised - Fatigued - 200 feet away (on coast) - Underwater - 2 HP 21 - Crimson Tiger - Bruised (at engines) - 4 HP 13 - Devil Ray - Bruised x3, Underwater - 200 feet away We are back on, as Blod is basically conversing, we shall skip to Tsunami and her underwater duel once more! I am moving the ship 100 feet due to the mysterious currents and storm. Partial Concealment for ranged attack due to low light Swim DC 20 required Engines are now down. Tsunami is up Sense Motive Roll from Crimson Tiger and Blod, please!
  8. Meaning Tsunami is up! and 100 feet away from the ship and Devil Ray. Note Swimming Check DC 20 to successfully move in the storm.
  9. More than enough to stabilise him further. There is no urgency to get him to hospital now, although he still does need proper surgery and recovery in a hospital.
  10. GM The Golden masked lady who was dancing with Tyrone gave him a cute wave and wink. "See you later darling! I have to see Luiza!!!" she grinned going back to shaking her booty and yelling to the Latin Beat. Tyrone did not have to elbow through the crowd far, they soon parted as the seriousness of the situation became apparent. At the doorway to La Rosa club was the patient. The bleeding, or at least the worst of it, was under control, but had not stopped. The head was a very vascular part of the body, and blood loss would be severe. As Tyrone got down to work, the elegant lady, Isabella, still appropriately wearing her death mask, strode over to him, gun in hand. "I know you try to help. But this man, he is wicked and bringer of tears. He will die today! Do not interfere!" she said coldly.

  12. And we move into the end of combat...or are we? Round 11 25 - Blod - 2 HP 24 - Tsunami - Bruised - Fatigued - 100 feet away (on coast) - Underwater - 2 HP 21 - Crimson Tiger - Bruised (at engines) - 4 HP 13 - Devil Ray - Bruised x3, Underwater I am awarding Blod an HP for reasons that will become apparent later on. We remain in Lowlight conditions, both above and below water, due to the storm. Partial Concealment for ranged attacks. Swimming Rolls are at -5 Penalty due to the turbulence at this juncture. Devil Ray has Favoured Environment feat, and is gaining +2 Defence this round as per house rules.
  13. GM The Shiphand dropped his spanner from paralysed hand and gulped, sweating and shaking. "Per---per---perlease! Don't hit me! No! No! Not the thumbs! Aaaargh!" he screamed, reliving some personal nightmare in his head. "I'll stop the ship! Please, just don't hurt me! I'll do whatever you want! You say stop, I will to it, right, hop!" he said, babbling some incoherent rhyme in terror. As the Crimson Tiger let him go, he scooped up the spanner and went to the engine, wiping his brow and smearing oil over his somewhat oversized nose and his sweaty brow. "If I..err...just reverse the ejection of the oil flow..." he mumbled, hands shaking, as he brought his spanner to bear...

Ok, so if it works out to actually be a disadvanantage (they set off back up the hill), maybe can call on Pitch's complication: disability and make her fatigued from the walk (of course if she is going to rest and recover before further action thats not actually a problem). Just sounding you out about that. I think it would make sense for her to get fatigued after a long walk.
  15. "I'm no monster, I can assure you" said Carmen, brushing back her hair. She was pretty tired, the walk, at a rush, had taken it out of her. She could feel the joints of her paralysed leg grinding pain, and welts dug into her orthotics. She put on her best face for the Captain anyway. "I'm here to rescue you" she said, slinging down her bag ruefully. I carted these damn things all the way here, and now they have their own weapons.... "The Island has been overrun by demons. Don't ask me how, but I intend to find out. Archeron's staff are holed up in his residence, best as they can. And I think that's the best place to be right now. Its got food, water, and can be defended. You guys won't stick it out long here, alone..." she said, tailing her sentence away. An image of Archeron's murder flashed before her eyes, but she felt it best to omit that horror from her story. She slumped down onto a chair. "But I could do with a breather, and a coffee..." she complained, massaging her leg.
  16. GM In the dim light of Goodman's flashlight and the weak lighting the cultists had erected around the cave, it was rather hard to see the fist of stone, but an impressive sight it was anyway. The wolfman leader was also impressed but its power - the stone fist closing around him resolutely before he could lead away. "What's this?" he yelled. "What new mastery of the beast has the wearer devised?" he complained, struggling vainly. In response to the magical force of Arcturus, the armour in the centre of the cave clinked, and moved. And flared. Burning a deep red in response to the carved wooden emblem, a Native American Artifact, that was placed by its side, and which fed the armour a burst of power. In a jolt, combined with the most awful clattering of metal, the armour sprang up into the form of a huge man, as big as Arcturus. Its insides were empty, and only dull red eyes flaring in its empty helm gave any indication of the ferocious power that was chained inside it. "But I do thank you for providing that extra spark we needed!" smiled the Cult leader. "You have met Gauntlet, have you not? Our greatest weapon. Perhaps one that can dissect exactly what power you used with this stone. And I do mean...dissect...." he said ominously. As if to make a point, the cultists sprang into action, galvanised by their success. Bullets sang out and a chainsaw whipped past Revenants ear, the noise almost unbearable in the small cave.

And we are on to round 2 (after Tough save for Arcturus) Round 1 26 Revenant - Unharmed - 1 HP 22 Chance - Unharmed 22 Cult Leader - Bound, Helpless (Snare Unharmed) 19 Arcturus - Unharmed - 1 HP 13 Cultist [4] - Unharmed 13 Gauntlet - Unharmed Revenant is up again. We are still in low light conditions (partial visual concealment), Goodman is still passive. Arcturus obviously smells the magic of the beast rune on Gauntlet (and the Cult leader), but also senses some shamanistic magic originating from the artifact in the cave (that reanimated Gauntlet).

Arcturus is down to 1 HP In which case that hits, and the Cult leader is bound and helpless thanks to his fudged roll: 1d20+5=9 As a reaction to Marcus/Arcturus exerting his power, Gauntlet animates! 1d20+0=13 will be his initiative on the next round. Which leaves the Cultists. The Chainsaw guy will run at Revenant, charging: 1d20+4=19 which is a miss. The other three cultists will fire normal pistols at Arcturus: 1d20+2=16, 1d20+2=13, 1d20+2=11 as Marcus is flat footed due to the cramped cave, one bullet hits - although we do need a concealment roll (miss on 17-20), which 1d20=2 passes. So thats a fairly straightforward DC 18 Toughness Save for Arcturus

  20. Gran, Im not sure that will fly. At least, the limited part wont: Its hard to justify a limited flaw on a stunt when in effect, that limitation is not a limitation for that situation. Its like stunting something with the limitation "only women" when you are targetting a woman. If you have a good reason to explain exactly how that will be a limitation in this situation, then let me know... Sorry!
  21. Which is enough to stabilise a dying character! One hero point for that noble act. Omen - 1 HP Without getting into technicalities of trauma and nuerosurgery, this stops him dying in front of you. He is still critically ill and will need a hospital and skilled medical care. post away!
  22. Pitch: Move action: To the piano. Standard Action: Ready an action. If the Piano activates again, Pitch will stick her cane on it (I presume it doesn't need a to hit roll to touch an immobile piano?) and use her Nullify power to counter the power. I wont post an IC post right now if thats ok Ari, but give me the word to do so. Assuming some countering does go on, Pitches counter roll is: 1d20+10=23
  23. Tazel, what is happening out there? how many mercenaries are there? She considered Axel's words. And...err...they wouldn't happen to have a howitzer or anything would they? She wouldn't put it past them. With a few over turn pewters for cover sheer peered at the door and strained her ears for the sound of gunfire, voices, or anything. She could feel the sweat on her body, and it was cold. For all her encounters with demonic forces, being caught up in a firefight with mercenaries, and without Tazel bubbling up inside her was a new experience, and one that flooded her body with adrenaline. Damn them! I'm not going down! she yelled to herself. "Nikki, you better close this thing up real quick. And then, you can tell me all about your old boss..." she said, pointedly.

  25. Rene waited impatiently until "help" arrived. "Oui Oui!" he answered. "I have found the painting! But, alas, I have, twisted my ankle in the dark! I cannot walk! If you throw me a rope I can climb out!" he called back. He shielded his eyes from the lantern glare. Looking up from the darkness, he couldn't make out who was up there, or how many there were. But he certainly didn't fancy receiving a volley of musket shot to his face. Whatever lies he told, there was no doubt he was, tactically speaking, a rat in a hole. "I surrender I surrender! don't shoot!" he added, waving a white handkerchief at the Priory soldiers. He doubted they could see it from up there (or at least its colour), but there was no harm in ramming home a point, adding actions to words. He considered adding "take me to to you leader" but, to be honest, he fancied getting out of the rabbit hole before facing him.
