  1. GM "Beats me" replied Detective Chance, pulling Revenant along to the main hut where "Gordon Goodman" was said to reside. The outside of the hut was chipped paint and a little woodrot, but inside, through the window, it looked pretty neat. "But if they are digging, then I want to know why" she muttered, her voice focussing down to a steel. "Aside from anything else, they got no permit to do that, at least, not one I know of. Which would give us a reason to get an arrest warrant and turn this place over. Incidentally, we haven't got an arrest warrant, bear that in mind. I don't mind bending the law a little, but not too much. I am still a police officer, y'know!" she said. "So lets go and meet this mysterious Gordon. A man who runs a successful Junkyard without buying or selling anything..."
  2. Also Sense Motive Roll for Revenant. DC 15.
  3. Well you can take 10 on the attack to auto hit him, but you will need a grapple roll. Ditto with intimidate roll. I guess you will succeed, but then, its not in bear form!
  4. Gran the "guardsman" is reaching for the bell to ring. Its gonna be short and sweet, but lets see if he can ring it. If you want to stop him, (and it is an if) then beat his initiative of 1d20+0=10 Of course, how you act if you get initiative - up to you. Knock him out, grapple him, intimidate him, etc. (And if you do lose initiative, you may want to do the above anyways!)
  5. GM "Hey man, stop right there!" said the man, pulling out a spanner - presumably as some kind of improvised weapon - from his dungarees. He was a bulky man, but it wasn't just fat, it was blue collar labouring muscle. And although he clearly wasn't a skilled fighter, he looked like he had been in a fight or two. However, Marcus was bigger, and stronger. The man hefted his spanner in a shifty manner, not keen to fight someone of Marcus' build. "And who the hell said we wuz diggin?" he asked, lies whistling through a moderately poor set of teeth. He took a look at a rusty iron bell hanging amongst the piled junk. A warning sign, of some sort, presumably. And turned to dash for it!
  6. Revenant notices some digging equipment in the Junk which looks new. DC 15 Knowledge (Technology) check to gauge wether she thinks it is operational! (this can be untrained)
  7. Sense Motive Roll DC 10 for Marcus
  8. GM The man had another shock. "What the hell is going on today? We are closed, man! closed! can't you see?" he said, waving his arm around the Junkyard. Something about the ground didn't look quite right to Marcus. It shifted and cracked, and looked fresh. Someone - or something - had been excavating underneath the Yard. "Two visitors today. What gives? And no, I'm not in charge. The boss is...in there. Gordon Goodman. As in, Goodman's junkyard. He hardly see's anyone, and already got some lippy broad barged in to see him today" he gulped, tugging at his collar. "So, what you here for? We ain't buyin' and we sure ain't sellin'" he said, cautiously examining Marcus with a beady eye.
  9. Knowledge as posted IC
  10. As per chat, a notice roll: 1d20+5=12
  11. 1d20+10=19 Cured!
  12. Tiff, could Revenant roll: Notice roll DC 20 Knowledge (Streetwise) DC 20 As she is in the Junkyard. Gran, could Arcturus roll Notice roll DC 20 Earth Science roll DC 20
  13. GM Marcus pulled up at the Junkyard with Dr. Lakes mobile written on a scrap of paper, hastily produced by the good Doctor himself before their departure. "I only want to know what's happening...just to be sure...so I guess I'm asking you to spy!" he had finished with, complete with a knowing wink and a friendly smile. "Trust nobody! even me!" To Marcus eyes, the Junkyard looked pretty much as a Junkyard should, except the surprising lack of activity. He just caught a surprised man jumping out of his seat and splurting coffee everywhere when approached by Revenant. As he turned off the motor, he saw Revenant stride away, and the man scrabble around the floor for his magazine, which he promptly rolled up and stuffed into his dungarees well out of view, checking to see nobody had seen him...
  14. GM The bored man at the gate snorted his coffee up his nose, which ejected from his face in two neat streams whilst he gagged and tried to snap shut his magazine all at once. "Wha--who---where---when---?" he chortled through an inflamed mucosa. "I---I---mean, what the hell are you doing here?" he asked, red faced despite best intentions. "I m-m-mean the Junkyard is closed...ummm, we ain't taking no more stuff, leastways not without the Boss sayin' so" he gagged, a hint of recovery emerging. He cast his eyes down to the magazine that lay open on the floor at his feet, displaying something that swiftly murdered the fragile recovery he was making. "Ahem..I mean yeah, sure, go ahead and see the boss...." he coughed, nudging the magazine closed and pointing at the wooden hut in the centre of the junkyard. "I'll *cough* just, err, clean up my coffee..." he said pointedly, indicating the undisturbed and intact flask at his feet.
  15. Rene eyed the man carefully, his nose twitching. "I am Rene deSaens" he bowed, not so low as to take his eyes off Delicat. "A humble painter, and friend to Father Henri" he replied, his mind churning over how Delicat and Henri would know each other. Coincidence? Non! There are no coincidences in this matter! "If you are from the Priory, I fear I must warn of you of a spirit, named Gallia. I had a dalliance with her years ago, and not one that should be revered. A twisted Spirit she is, one who uses men like pawns, or pawns of pawn. Whether you know it or not, I tremble at any action that may unleash her, and my concerns have led me here, or - more precisely, to what lies beneath. What is your intention, Sir? and may I dissuade you from erroneous action?"
  16. Ill let Ari/KoS do the talking with that roll!
  17. That makes Agnes up!
  18. Carmen nodded, absorbing every word. She had heard about 'Big Nicky', of course. Rock Report had done a few articles on him, and how he had fought off his personal demons and all that. I'll show them what a real personal demon is! She ignored Tazel, although it was one of the rare occasions she agreed with the little devil. "I think you got a lot of respect for the way you helped Nicky" she encouraged him. "And it seems this place really freed up your mind, or your soul. You have been doing some of your best work here, if I may so. But what is it? the Isolation? I mean, I dig this place feeding you inspiration, but whats with the cutting yourself off from the world?"
  19. Carmen waved away the deserts. She liked to maintain her figure. It was, to be honest, a selling point for the magazine, and had helped worm her way into a few parties with the rich and the famous. "Sure, lets start" she replied, her mind focussing down on what questions to asked. She had prepared this in her mind, several times, but she threw her rather vague plans out of the window. "Well, you have been on the island for, how long? years? what persuaded you to lead the life of the recluse, and how's it suiting you? do you find inspiration here? we passed some old village on the way up, and it looked perfect for some music. And, I guess, going back to my first question? what have we in store for the next album? what has inspired it?"
  20. Carmen studied the relationship between Archeron and Alex with a careful eye. Alex was a mecurial man, she concluded, or perhaps Acheron was a man who inspired such a transformation. "Sounds like hell" she said at Acheron's description of the struggles he had with his new album. "Maybe you need to ease off for a while. Let the music settle down a bit. Your reputation is in no danger, you know. Maybe your music isn't to everyone's taste, but its pretty universally respected. You really do have quite the reputation" she explained, and let her eyes wandered over his palace and island, to indicate his reputation was not limited to his music. "Eating would be good" she lied, not really hungry, excitement taking over. In any case, is she demanded, Tazel could conjure up some infernal sustenance. "And then you can tell me about the inspiration for this new album!"
  21. Supercape gave a shrug, a warm one accompanied by a warm smile. "I'm, not entirely sure you should jump to any conclusions. Your powers are exceptional. That kind of force can have consequences beyond your control. It could swing this way, it could swing that..." he waffled, his hands oscillating from left to right. "You can't control the future, you can only control what's happening right now. You really have no way of knowing what was true and what was false, perhaps this Collapse doesn't even exist!" he smiled as generously as possible. Supercape knew he wasn't being particularly helpful, and knew he was rattled. He wasn't lying, however, in his View Velocity should just get on with her life and hope for the best. Like all of them. "Call me if you need any help" he smiled, as he showed Velocity out. Back inside the Lab, he sat down heavily, and took a very strong cup of tea. He closed his eyes, frowning. Recalling his trip to the future back when he had first learned how to time travel. So. He is called Collapse. And he is real. Very real. He shuddered. ~ Fin ~
  22. Carmen could hardly contain her example. "Wow, Mister Ph...I mean George...Hell, I'll call you Acheron if thats ok!" she smiled. She had done her best to look presentable after the shower, leather trousers, boots, and a cropped t shirt that exposed the tattoo down her spine. Ok, she wouldn't get into a fancy hotel, but she reckoned it was a suitable mix between Rock and reasonable. Nothing too flashy, but nothing to stiff either. She kept the Cantos cane by her side as she shook Acheron's hand warmly. She had an urge to hug him and kiss his cheek. Hell... She jumped on him, hugged him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "You rock!" she said, simply. "This whole island rocks with you!" she added. "I gotta so many questions, I wouldn't know where to start" she said, realising she was on the edge of spluttering, her carefully planned list of questions evaporating. Well I always work best flying by the seat of my pants! "Hows the new album going then?" she asked.
  23. "If we had the time and energy I would have gone to the village, sounds rocking" said Carmen, wearily sitting down. She was pretty fit, but long walks took their toll on her. She pulled up her right boot and undid the callipers. Her leg was wasted muscle and the flesh a little red from the pressure of the callipers and the long walk. "Sorry, but, you know, I think I need a break" she said, massaging her leg and taking a look around the village. "Go chill, go take a few arty photographs. It will look good for the article. The island is pretty magnificent. A real relic - in a good way" she smiled. "Me, I'm going to take a shower and freshen up. I didn't pack my dinner jacket, so I hope he is ok with this look" she smiled through her rather wild blonde hair that had draped over her face. With that, she got up to turn on the shower and shoo Billy out of her room, trying to collect her thoughts above the excitement of meeting the man himself...
  24. A Church. Why is there always a Church? Carmen looked up to the Belltower. It was an impressive piece of architecture, she conceded, rather beautiful, especially given its history. "C'mon Billy, lets leave the sites for later. Perhaps we can even get the man down here and take a few shots against the backdrop". That said, she took a quick shot of the tower with her own camera, if nothing else, to get the practice in. And it did make a nice shot. "As for electricity, I guess the man has a few electricals for his guitar and recording, he has to make his music somehow, eh? acoustic guitars only get you so far!" she laughed. It was true - she really did think Phlegathon was a talented musician and composer, but it felt to her that he wouldn't be satisfied with just an old acoustic guitar. Drumming her fingers on her cane, she gave Billy a little tap with the stick and move on forward...

Roo> good point about LSD. This will need some thinking on to refine. Tiff, any thoughts? I am thinking there is some highly dangerous chemical out there which has hallucinogenic properties but also can fry peoples brains. People experimented with it in the sixties, but soon realised it caused damage. Maybe it unlocked occassional psychic visions or the like? As for Lucy Diamond, maybe she is a bit loopy, although super-powered. She was a difficult element in the team because her brain was fried, but the chemical (? virus? "Astral Juice"?) did unlock something in her. Ari> And the power to communicate with Osprey's too! Perhaps the freind who got accidentally killed should be fleshed out, in accordance with Osprey himself (and why did he agree to the experiment? or was he an unwilling victim? perhaps an ex-soldier or SAS? if so, there may be army buddies we could add to the map) TiffK> Do you want Agnes mum added to the map alongside Lucy Diamond? what is her relationship with Diamond? How does it feed into the Brittania Spirit she has? I have a few ideas about the last two members of the old team, but I will hold back a bit to see if anybody has further ideas.
