  1. GM "That's a sweet story from a sweet dame, daling. A guy could really fall for those honey lips" he smiled lecherously. "But y'know, I'm feeling rather bitter right now. No, babe, I don't buy that. I know people. Y'see, it comes from seeing the lights in their eyes go out when I take that last bit of them. I look right in their eyes, and we both see what really makes people tick right then. No fancy words, no clever comebacks. When a man draws his last breath, that's when all the lies fall of him..." "So you see, the way I see it, that Frenchy, you and hid had words. I see that in your eyes. What is it? hope? I can change that, honey. I'm realy good at that. And what's more, you will thank me ending that. See, hope only lets you down. It's like a broad that cheats on you, except you fall twice as hard. So, really, I'm doing you a favour, honey. I'm gonna crush the truth out of your lips, and you will thank me for it..." he grinned. And reached out...
  2. Hes been lusting after her for years! 1d20+10=25 Unfortunately, even with attractive... Could I have initiative roll from YB please!
  3. GM Detective Chase sat down in a cool, relaxed manner, crossing her legs but keeping her shades on, her eyes impenetrable. Through her clothes, Revenant spied the bulge under her jacket, and the momentary glimpse of dull steel. The woman was armed. Probably normal for a detective, but even so, this woman was taking no chances. "I need your help. Don't know many superheroes, to be honest, but being as you kinda practice law, and help out locally, we got your number down the station. I heard you even worked with those fools down in the Fens, Harry the Hound. Yeah, I remember him from a few years back. Scruffy, lazy, unprofessional. Force won't miss him even if he did have a knack of catching the odd crook.." she said, voice slick without any gabbling. It was a voice that would suit the draw of a cigarrete for artistic reasons - except Det. Chase didn't smoke. She was too much of a health freak for that. "I got wind of something down at Goodman's Junkyards. Normally good guys. They don't do the normal work on stolen cars that we get every now and again from dealers like that. Got a good reputation. Now, I got a few complaints. They got unfriendly, stopped doing regular business, turning every one away, even threatening them. For about a month now. All legal, technically, but it gets me to wondering...how they still afloat? what nasty piece of business are they doing? whats the deal?" "I cant get a warrant. But I could do with someone who knows the law and is a superhero at that. I got a nose for trouble, and I'd like to check this place out, as it stinks bad..."
  4. "Now now, violence never achieved anything, by Vishnu!" said Lord Steam, wagging his finger at his impulsive companion without much threat or seriousness. He was deeply stung by the "brainless fop" jibe, however. He set his mind to overdrive. "I think what you are stealing, Madam, is nothing material. Not the diamond, not gold, nor silver. What you are after, is information. Knowledge is power, after all. Secrets" he said, a smile on his lips full of warmth. She really was a diamond herself... "This marvellous calculating machine. This etheric telegraph. Full of it. What lies within those coils and bolts and carefully arranged differences in potential energy? what code to be cracked? what wisdom to transmit, or receive?" "And what of these incongruous statues? with articulated joints? what need has a statue for these? but I wonder - what lies beneath the gaudy surface hmm? more wheels, more cogs? a programmable automaton, perhaps?" "Am I warm, shall I get warmer?" he asked.
  5. That works for me, you still have your round of actions. I suppose it is pretty reasonable for Tsunami to presume he hit the boat somehow - either on deck somewhere or underwater, she ain't stoopid!
  6. Pitch put the rope round her, grumbling at being last, although she had - she conceded, been the first in, in some ways. Besides which, they needed to act fast, and she wasn't the fastest. She had a fleeting thought to set a fire outside the building, in case she needed to jump back out through some flames, her "firewalking" trick. But then, that was not going to go down well with some fire officers, and time was short. So lets Rock!!! she sang to herself, accompanied by an imagined guitar riff. "What is this, a concert?" she asked aloud, wondering if her mental affirmation to Rock was an unconscious prediction.
  7. "I believe that is ze name of this house of song, dance, and uninspiring liquor, madam" answered Rene, who had eyed the poor selection of wine available. "And oui, it is ze city of ze Freedom" he continued. "A rather fine city, now that I have come to know it. As far as American cities go" he added with a cheeky wink at Nick. "You are most welcome, of course madam. I suspect you are feeling somewhat, disorientated at ze moment? not the most ideal of circumstances, of course. Tell me, what do you..ahem...feel like? we would like to help, of course, but perhaps we should focus on ze diagnosis first...what do you remember, what is your story?"
  8. That is a good point. I will have to fudge that somewhat. Given your detect water sense (its not technically water, but the displacement of it)...and the fact it is not radius or acute (the presence and location, but not quality, and not behind you...), its raining heavily, dark, and you dont have radius vision, but you might hear him (a lot of variables, so rather arbitary) DC 15 to detect the Devil Ray moving back. DC 20 to sense him landing on the aft of the ship.
  9. GM "Me? I want to sleep well at night" explained Dr. Lake. "Pardon my frankness, but the myths of the beast rune are disturbing to say the least. Why, there was one from Persia that described the complete slaugh..." "Ah yes, but I forget myself" he smiled. "I have little in this world but my knowledge. Responsibility, I give to others!" he said, and looked like he meant it. "You can do with what I give you as you wish, of course. I am hardly in the position to insist. But what I can give is advice. Something fishy is afoot, and I suggest you find out what it is..." Meanwhile... Lucy Harker's apartment was not hard to find, for a detective in the know. And Detective Amy Chase was just such a detective. At first glance, she looked like she had walked straight out of a glamorous detective show. She was till, beautiful, slim, and had an attractive crop of short and stylish jet black hair that complemented the mirror shades she wore as a habit. Her clothes were stylish, just the right mix of cool and professional. On closer glance, there was a steel to her. Maybe intelligence, no, a more accurate description would be a drive. And a scar running down her face, from the brow to the upper cheek, marred - or perhaps augmented - her natural beauty. She pressed the doorbell with insistence. "Lucy Harker? This is Detective Chase, Freedom City Police. I need to talk to you urgently"
  10. Pitch took a few steps forward, as unsteady from the battering crash she had just had, as much as her disability. She felt the click of the calipers on her right leg, and only grew more angry. She saws the Cantos Cane several feet away from her, the black wood unmarked by the crash. It seemed the thing was unbreakable. Holding the chain to the bound beast in one hand, giving it a tug to indicate to its slave that she was still very much in control, she summoned forth her emotions and encased her right fist in fire. "Axel, I have to hand it to you and that pea-shooter" she laughed in a friendly way at her friend, before breathing in, exhaling, and throwing the fireball in her hand at the other hellhound.
  11. Ok lets see if I cant finish off that unbound hound with a mighty blast, shifting -2 attack, +2 DC 1d20+8=23 that looks like a hit, so DC 27 Toughness.
  12. GM "My thoughts exactly" replied Doctor Lake, giving his customary chuckle. "I have no detail to offer, unfortunately. All I know is that there is this Junkyard, Goodman's Junk, in the West of Freedom. Nothing unusual about that, except two things. One, there is every indication that it is a burial site for native Americans, and Two, Detective Chance has taken an extremely keen interest in it. And I suspect she has found something. Or, more precisely, she wants something, the way her feverish interest has taken hold of her..." "Quite why she has gone to Revenant, I do not know" he shrugged. "So there you have it. I'm not asking you to do anything. All I'm asking is you to spy, I guess. To find out that detail we both want. To make sure nothing happens. Because by my understanding of the history, whatever was buried there might have something to do with the Rune..."
  13. Both down! Post away
  14. Snake is dazed so doesn't act (although I posted SQ going). Round 6 18 - YB - 3 HP - Unharmed 14 - EH - 4 HP - Bruisedx2, staggered 10 - Giant Snake - Bruisedx3 Take it away, YB!
  15. GM The Snake paused, its head reeling from the battering it had received from the two superhero's. And then, it blinked. When it opened its eyes, gone were the brown human eyes (swollen to a good foot across) and in its place, the dark sinister slit of a regular serpent. Granted, that serpent was still over sixty feet long and weighed a ton, but the eyes and influence of the Swamp Queen were no longer present in its small - well, now large - head. It hissed, its tongue extending a good few feet ahead of it, and shifted its head left and right, to clear cobwebs and to make an instinctual guess about which of the heroes to crush in its mighty coils. Or at least, which one it would try to...
  16. Rene clutched his bruised knuckled that had solidly connected with a Redcap's chin. It had been decades since he punched someone. He was more subtle these days, and besides which held a vast arcane power which served him as well as any pugilistic skill he may have once had. Still, he conceded, it had its little pleasure, even if it was fighting for the wrong side. "Marceau my friend, may I offer you a gift? A magical cloth no less! please, do accept it! I insist!" he shouted at his friend, hopeful that his ploy may twist Parsinkles plot to their advantage. Propelled by the Gaes, his knuckles once more swung out at a nearby Fey in the frenzied brawl...
  17. Free Action: Offering King of Suits his gift. Standard Action: Punch another Redcap 1d20+4=21 He really is a fair pugilist isn't he? DC 14 Toughness save.
  18. Eh didnt mean to pick you up. The idea is that he has a permanent radioactive aura, which means drain CON is on always, even as Liebniz. He is aware of this and rather bitter about it, as it means he cant (regularly) touch his wife or anybody as Leibniz. If that makes sense.
  19. Sorry I thought I posted this! Full Defence as Action!
  20. GM Harrow sailed through the air in a neat - and calculated - parabola. "Let me gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" he wailed in an unfortunately prophetic demand as Fenris launched him. "ooooo --- ooooo --- ooooo" echoed the piste in a rumbling ominous fashion. Harrow hit the snow hard, and proceeded to tumble down the piste in a erratic fashion. The two time agents, still sliding down the slope, try to aim their weapons at Velocity, but it was hard enough to hit her under normal circumstances. Sliding down a ski slope on your backside did not make it any easier. The weapons were rather loud, this time. And echoes. The two agents slid past a sign in the snow. "WARNING! Off piste! Avalanches!" The two agents looked at each other and nodded, setting their weapons to a blazing subsonic boom as they fired...
  21. Ok, lets fudge this as it is also down the slope. A straight 500 feet down the piste, and Harrow gets a bruise for his troubles. I will also say he enters into a slide unless he can get out of it. Two more minions are firing at Velocity: 1d20+6=9, 1d20+6=13 Both miss. Loudly. 1 HP to each of you for their new underhand tactic... Round 5 54 - Velocity - Fatigued - 3 HP 12 - Robert - Bruised, in full slide. 7 - Fenris - Unharmed - 3 HP 6 - Time Agents [3?] - Unharmed, In full slide. Meaning Velocity is up and, for the sake of speed (bdum dum tish) let us say they are together enough for a takedown...
  22. Works for me. Meaning Tsunami is up!
  23. "That will do" said Pitch gratefully, taking the water and Aleve. It wasn't much, but damn she ached. "This is Claremont? I heard about this place. A school isn't it? must be some kind of school to teach you" she chuckled, before the last part of Kit's words. "Sent me? No way. That little flame, about so high? a demon called Tazel. He told me about you, set the whole thing up. He has a forked tongue, and no mistake. He is bound to me as tight as you can believe, but the little devil will do anything to cause mischief....or worse. I should have known better to trust him, but he told me about you, and it was too...interesting...to ignore. No offence, kid, but anything branded with the infernal, I make it my business. Partly out of survival, but a lot of it just making sure no trouble comes of it. Not that I can do much, its like trying to pin down a blob of mercury, but I do my best..."
  24. 1d20+10=23 Bruised and Dazed. At this point, I'll say the swamp queen has had enough of controlling the beast and dissapears, meaning you "just" have very angry snake to contend with! Post IC for EH
  25. Ok so I make 70ks about 150lbs, which is what, conveniently I shall say Harrow weighs! Str 13 Can lift 150lbs as a heavy load. Fenris, at full array has a STR of 49 for lifting/throwing, which is 35 Points in excess, or 7 points on the distance chart: making it a 1000 ft throw. Although it is likely to be irrelevant how far is Fenris throwing the poor man?
