  1. OOC for thread. El Heraldo & Young Brittania face of Madam Malaise in the modern era! Ari/TiffK I have left this somewhat open for you to progress with. I suggest either you guys are on a social visit to the Zoo, or you have been somehow steered there (with various levels of explicitness / subtletly) by your patrons.
  2. GM Hanover Zoo Jerry Jones was a short, ugly man. And he knew it. He hit five foot six and then proceeded to grow outwards, in belly. His hair was lank and thin, and his face was wrong, somehow. He wore a permanent frown. Somehow, he still got along with his fellow zookeepers well enough. But they saw him as a distant, solitary, and sad man. I..was born for more than this...he would tell himself every day as he dutifully did his rounds of the zoo. Somehow, children seemed to cheer him up when they squealed at the animals. He often took it upon himself to help them and explain to them about the exhibits. ... The tall, elderly man with piercing eyes entered the zoo quietly, and caught Jerrie's eye. Both seemed to recognise each other, but perhaps on an intuitive level rather than conscious one. The tall old man turned away and strutted into the reptile house...
  3. Damnit that guy is still standing...sighed the Mess to himself as he shrugged away the sword cut, barely noticing it. "I ain't got time to bleed..." he explained, in a soft voice. His legs, swollen with power, pumped him up into the air again, to land right by the Golden man who refused to go down. "There's plenty more were that came from!" he laughed, fighting his own uncertainty with the pugilistic rage that had set in. He had fought plenty of bigger, faster, and even stronger guys as a kid, and that spirit lifted him now. A one-two-three set combination of fists, standard boxer's fare, masked a street fighter's kick to the guys knee, a nasty, crippling blow that hurt, disabled, and unbalanced all at once. Sure, the Mess knew how to box. And he also knew when not to box, and fight dirty.
  4. 1d20+10=26 for Mess Toughness (Lethal damage, no bruise penalty!) so he can shrug off a pesky sword cut. Move Action, jump to the Golden Guy. Standard Action: A less vigorous but still hardy attack. Shifting +4 Attack, -2 Defence, -2 DC. 1d20+14=28 should hit, and thats a DC 23 toughness save.
  5. Initiative Rolls please 1d20+42=44 for Harrow I will presume Fenris will be arriving imminently - at least in the region. (on that note, it strikes me that Fenris could you extra effort to bump up teleport 2 ranks and teleport 2000 miles in one round? I am not sure how that works with the extra effort for moving speed but it seems legit to me).
  6. GM "Can't? or Won't?" lashed back Robert, a tear in his eye. "Well, I for one will move on..." he continued, his voice hardening. His manner was still the Robert Harrow that Megan would love, but it was spiked with the bitterness of the broken heart. "You and me, alas, we could have been something magnificent together. I love you, and I can't stop it, damn you! I am not a..a...clock!" he said, brandishing the watch. "I can't just stop!" "Well, if a shadow of our love is all I can have, then so be it. I can't force you to see the love in front of you. Something poisonous has blinded you. What is it? Ego? Pride? Duty? No matter. Maybe you will see what you have thrown away one day. Maybe even, you will regret. But I'm moving on..." he blasted, before whipping past Megan and snatching the bag...
  7. "That's not good" mumbled Rene, stating the obvious. Gripping his brush in one hand, he softly stroked his goatee, senses alert to any move the...club...? might take. "Nick, I have sent plenty of the undead to the sleep they deserve. And I have tallied with many dabbler, or master, of the black arts of necromancy...no offence taken, as you well know. Trust is, I regret, a short commodity, although they are not as deceptive as some.." He paused. "But you know more of the ways of the Vampire than I. They are lost souls. Dead poets. Sad stories. And, I fancy, they come in more than one flavour" he said, thinking aloud, recalling Revenant's story of Bloody Nora. "What chills me is exactly what they hunger for, and feed on!"
  8. We can be somewhat flexible with that, as Velocity and Harrow have been busy, even if at superhuman speeds. Lets see how the talk between Velocity and Harrow goes, and have Fenris trundling in to them...and perhaps other stuff!
  9. Rene is out of HP, and with a diplomacy skill of +6 and no combat diplomacy (a net -4) he is isn't going to win any friends. Holding action for now.
  10. This guy is kicking my ass... Bloody Mess wiped sweat and blood from his nose, and gritted his teeth. Even his pumped up, resilient body was feeling crushed. Bones and joints ached and he felt the swelling of bruises all over his body. His breathing hurt, and he ruefully contemplated the possibility of a cracked rib. I'm damned if I'm going down he roared to himself. "That all ya got, bozo?" he spat at the man in the golden armor, his vision throbbing and his attention concentrating down like a laser beam. He was only marginally aware of the fight's swirling around him. "I've sucked up more than that, my friend. I am not going down, ya hear me? Let's just see if you can take what you dish out..." With that he leapt into the man, his fists whirling like clockwork, spinning massive blows into the man, a stamp, an elbow, a massive uppercut. He threw all caution to the wind, focussing all his energy and skill into sinking this man, once and for all.
  11. Ok Mess is going all out on his Golden Chum. Power Attack, All out attack -5 def, +5 DC. 1d20+10=15 and as that missed, i will burn an HP to hit. 1d20+10=29 which is a hit, and a critical one at that! Thats a whopping DC 35 Toughness save on a bruised Golden boy!
  12. What a bothersome day! Uh oh... The Radiation spike flowing from Cereknov did not worry him overtly - it was powerful enough, surely. Something that might seriously harm Merge, if not himself. But there was a deeper concern... I hope Liebniz isn't on the receiving end of any of that. If he is...then we have a serious problem... Heavy Metal hadn't shown his face in a year. But if he did, things would go bad very quick. Supercape was confident enough these days to handle some heavy super villianry, but he was practically useless against the alter ego of Liebniz. He elevated himself, and flew backwards, out of the cloud. It was still easy enough for him to lock on to Cereknov, and, with a nudge of several atoms, bathe the man in a pretty shade of green radiation.
  13. So: Free Action: Transform costume! Free Action: Standard Force field up Standard Action: Radiation Blast on Cev, DC 28 Toughness Move Action: Fly!
  14. I make that around 10 minutes!
  15. GM Robert paused, deeply concerned. "The destruction of everything? everywhere?" he replied, shocked. "Our child? But, but, how can you know this?" he asked, insistently, fingering his watch. He seemed torn, looking at Megan with genuine affection. "Is this some kind of novel excuse for us not being together, Megan? It certainly beats the mysterious silence you threw at me last time, I'll give you that. But this is...fanciful to say the least..." His eyes briefly flicked once more to his equipment. "The future can't be determined, anyway, you know that as well as I do. There are many universes. How can I stop what I feel is right, on the basis of perchance and maybe?" he asked. "Should we not walk into that future hand in hand, Megan? In love like before? We can conquer anything together!" he finished, triumphantly. "That!" he said, jabbing his finger at his equipment "Is a poor, cold substitute for you..."
  16. Velocity 2 HP Fenris - 3 HP
  17. Carmen could not help but snigger at Nikki's comment. It was true - Hell's Angels didn't know..well...what the Hell it was all about. At least most of them. Her father did. "Very amusing" she replied. "But I think you have a more interesting story to tell, Nikki" she replied. Her voice practically conjuring up parenthesis. "Or Rosa, or whatever your name is. Perhaps its not one you would want to share, but I really want to hear it even so. What would it take to loosen that tongue of yours?" she asked, fingering the Cantos stick with its brass Goat's head. Carmen punched a finger at the map. "Something to do with that?" she inquired. "I can't see any good of someone of your kind going near a military base. Big guns, big explosives..." she let the conjuencture tail off.
  18. GM Sweden... "Exactly where in Verbier!" demanded an unphased Dr. Lind, bringing up a notebook. "And then, please don't let me stop you" she said, offering some semblance of diplomacy. GM Switzerland... Robert Harrow looked down at his stopwatch, contemplating Megan's words. "Influencing me. Perhaps. It is a matter of words and their meaning. Revealing the truth, you might say. Opening my eyes. That is influence is it not? Is influence always bad? or wrong?" he countered. "Given its power to open my eyes, I would have them opened further. I can almost feel the veil of time split asunder. It is not the power I crave, it is the clarity..." "Whatever happened to us? Perhaps it no longer matters. Perhaps it is only for us to steer the ship of our lives back on course. Can you not sense what might be? Our child?" He gestured towards his bag. "These days, of course, I...we...would not even need to do things the conventional way. Your DNA, and mine, will make do..."
  19. Velocity recognises some of the equipment in Roberts bag: A high powered microscope, and a DNA kit. the other stuff, she cant place but is medical / biological in nature.
  20. GM Switzerland... Robert was barely visible. He had been in the room only minutes before Velocity arrived, but had scoured the room with a fine toothcombe several times over. Velocity could see, in the corner of a room, a small bag full of scientific equipment. He spun around as Velocity entered. "That's a neat trick!" he replied, clutching the stopwatch in a firm grip. "I knew you were fast, but it seems you have more than one string to your bow. No matter. I am faster" he noted with an air of confidence that had grown. "I am touched you thought so much of me that you would follow me. I wonder why?" he mused, looking at his stopwatch briefly. "This thing almost sings to me, my dear. I have the strongest feeling we should be together. Perhaps, perhaps I have always thought that, but it was drowned under a sea of bitterness when you left me. It was short, was it not, our love? short but so sweet. And I would have that sweetness again. Yes, I have the strongest feeling about us!" he said, full of wistfulness.
  21. DC 20 Sense Motive Check for Fenris please. DC 15 Knowledge (technology) roll for Megan please (untrained I see!)
  22. GM Doctor Lind frowned, her demeanour cooling somewhat. "Diplomacy and tact isn't your strong point, I see. Well, if you are going to throw away that courtesy, so shall I, sir, so shall I. I have had my patience tested already by the Baron" She looked deeply disturbed by what Fenris had said. She jabbed a finger at his chest piece. "Don't think I fall for one minute with your intimidatory insinuations! You or the Baron. It is not I who needed to defend my actions, but rather you, for threatening national security. A supervillain born in your laboratory? obstructing the law? energy readings of deep concern, and now apparently loose? Ha!" "I'm reporting this straight to the top, and then we go in and tear this place apart with a toothpick to see what happens, sir!" she said, voice all steel and complete confidence. "I have no idea where this watch is, but we will try to clean up your mess. Right now, you can tell me exactly where this Velocity is, and don't lie to me. We expect you to do your utmost to recapture this watch, but so will we!" she said, full of brimstone. "And don't palm me off with any half price lackey either!" she added, for good measure.
  23. Might be cleaner just to start with a new thread? (And yes, I have the fact we are in a new month in my head!)
  24. 1d20+7=24 for Mess
  25. GM Sliding down the elevator shaft was not difficult for the pair, although any who experienced vertigo would not have enjoyed the ride. The Excalibur tower was, if nothing else, tall. Forty stories, and not skimping on head room. The elevator itself was frozen, presumably disabled by the armed gunmen. The elevator doors to the top floor, home to the journalists and the gunmen, were also frozen, but easily parted by Glows power or even the Strength of the Silver Spider. Peeking inside, they could see the six gunmen, wearing masks, carrying submachine guns and seemingly well equipped - grenades, communicators, body armour. They would make a SWAT team look underequipped. Whoever these guys were, they appeared to have the lastest and best arms. "Keep quiet and none of you will get hurt!" yelled the leader to the frightened journalist. "This is a hostage situation! We have the area completely locked down! It would take a real hero to free you!" he explained, emphasising the last words as if reading from a vitally important inner script.
