Looking at the ceiling and floors and walls, just to check there are no secret panels. Taking 10 on Search for a 25 result, and 20 on notice for a 35 result (assuming i have a few minutes to do that).

"Well, well, its still here at least!" said Lord Steam, stopping his brisk stride and changing it for a slow circumnavigation around the Diamond. He did not neglect careful examination of the other strange and wonderful artifacts in the room. An Ether Gun? he wondered. The technology here was far more akin to that in his own dimension than Earth Prime. Of course, this was a mysterious dimension, full of marvels of science and..other curiosities. No firm conclusion could be drawn. Just suspicions raised. "But for how long?" he asked his companions, staring around the room. He had urge to be proactive here, rather than reactive. "Well, if you were a thief, how would you steal it?" he asked himself and his companions. Looking up to the ceiling and tapping the floor below them with his cane...

"I vote with my feet!" yelled the Hound in abject terror. Some part of his mind held back from growing four legs - even in the panic, he didn't want to reveal his secret. That would be more dangerous in the long run. "Aw man!" moaned the Mess, as he started leaning forward, all elbows and pounding feet, turning himself in a powered cannonball hurtling through the crowds - probably causing a little more bruised ribs than he would have liked. The girl was found, but it looked like she was in trouble. Those martial art guys looked like they weren't going to ask nicely. After being shot at earlier, he was already primed to help the girl they were tracking rather than scoop her up. Anyway, he was a kind of fists first, talking afterwards guy. "Gangway!!!" he yelled as he broke through the crowds and launched himself at the golden man. He had had a few fights with fancy martial artists. In his opinion, it was more show than effectiveness - he preferred brutal efficiency himself - but it would not be like fighting the backyard goons and stiffs that made up most of the thugs of Freedom City. The man's reactions were indeed better than the Mess had expected. He launched himself straight over a ducking head, sailing over him before hitting a chinese noodle street vendor and collapsing on the floor, his body and face strewn with noodles and sauces.

Ok Mess is going to charge straight at the Golden Guy. He isn't pumped up at the moment, so STR and related powers at normal. Its +2 Attack and -2 Defence, and he is going to power attack at +2 DC and -2 Attack (so net +2 DC and -2 Defence) 1d20+10=21 Maybe a hit, maybe not. DC 23 Bash if it does.

His Move action is to walk away! Zip! He has speed 20, lightspeed. 400,000 miles in a move action! I dont think Fenris can match that, Velocity I dont think can either?
-
GM "But you did hurt me, nonetheless!" retorted Robert, as he moved at a speed faster than even Velocity. "Perhaps not out of spite, or cruelty, I concede. You thought perhaps a woman of your abilities beneath me? Perhaps I was too slow. Long I wondered why you left, but now, this simple watch revealed it too me. You were to busy being a superhero to bother with love. I wasn't good enough for you. Love was not good enough for you. Yes, I believe it was love, even if just the first warm glow of it, bright and not yet tempered with time..." "But this!" he exclaimed, showing her the watch for one brief moment. "Changes thing's does it not? Now, we can be together....one way or another!" he said, smiling at her with what she could only imagine was genuine love. "Together forever! Now, let us bloom!" he said, as another distortion smacked into Velocity. He frowned as the super speed of Velocity fought against the stasis of time that he had launched at her. "No...no...." he muttered to himself. And with that, he flew away in a blink of an eye...

"Liberty!" said Rene, rising, oblivious to the creaking in his knees! "That is what she shall strike! A nebulous concept, but glorious all the same!" he conceded, swiping a fist through the air. "Alas, I am but an artist, my friend. I speak in abstract terms! My mind is addled and full of years, it is the abstract that I see and speak. It is to your sharp and young mind that I must entrust the detail...." He sat down, wiping his brow. "I am afraid I am more distracted than normal, my friend. That man, Henri Zenon - I remember him...I feel him, but as if through a darkened glass. Yes, black thoughts indeed. I have long felt that many decades ago, I lost something. Maybe it was this war, or that...I cannot recall. But his appearance...it stirs uneasy thoughts. He is from my past, I know it - as friend? as protector? or maybe something worse..." He shook his head. "Perhaps these thoughts are stirred too by Gallia, from my past. Oh! My past is long, past human counting, and if in the course of a normal life, even if good and virtuous as a whole, it is peppered by the black and dread, full of misjudgement and error even if not evil..." "Maybe the time is not now for such reflection, and maybe it is...but we should not be shaken from our task. Gallia must be stopped. Now tell me of this marvellous device you have used...such artifice is beyond me!"

Harrow is going to try freezing Velocity once more: 1d20+16=34 which I think hits. Its a Paralyse 12 effect, fortitude save. Delaying move action until I have the save result in, Thev.

An excellent reason! No, that's a miss. His defence is +18 (or 28)!

Tsunami's attack roll: Outrageous! A natural 20! Devil Rays toughness roll: 1d20+12=32 Outrageous! A natural 20! Post away!

NPC The Hound started pushing through the crowds as best he could. He was not particularly tall, or particularly strong, but he had a kind of wiry vitality to him - suitable for forcing his whip like body through the masses. The Mess was not far behind, moving forward like a cannonball. "Over here, I got her!" he said, turning back and getting an accidental elbow in his nose as reward. "Goddamn it!" he swore, checking he wasn't going to get a nosebleed. It interfered with his canine senses, he had learnt. But fortunately his partner was an expert at stopping nosebleeds. Or, he realised with a cold shudder, causing them. "Finally!" he said, elated "we got her! piece of cake from here, buddy! piece of goddam ca....ooooerrr....." he tailed off, as he saw the water swirl around Tsunami. "Errr...you take it from here...." he said to the Mess, stopping and letting his partner surge on ahead.

GM The knife seemed to make no impact on the Captain. His ship hand, however, turned a pure white shade of white, and screamed. Perhaps he was trying to say something, but his throat was so constricted and his mind so garbled that nothing intelligible came out other than vocalisations of terror. He turned heel, and ran out of the bridge with legs fuelled by panic. In the rain and dark, his precise destination could not be seen. The yell and the splash of seawater as his body hit the sea may have given some indication. "Knives is it?" said the Captain in an iron voice. "I've faced worse than that, girl. I've fought in more wars than you have had hot dinners...." he explained, his face turning to steely determination.

I think this means we have moved to round 3 Round 3 25 - Blod - 2 HP 24 - Tsunami - Fatigued - Unharmed - 2 HP 21 - Crimson Tiger - Unharmed - 4 HP 13 - Devil Ray - Unharmed 11 - Captain - Unharmed Blod just acted with her intimidate, so Tsunami is up. I still need a notice Roll from Crimson Tiger.
-
That seems reasonable to me, KD, as he is basically taking this round to protect his ID. That brings up back to round 2 56 - Velocity - Unharmed - 3 HP 34 - Harrow - Unharmed 5 - Fenris - 3 HP
-
1d20+10=30 for the Captain. The Shiphand (the only other at the bridge) is also intimidated. So, technically the Shiphand is friendly towards Blod, but he would remain freindly to the Captain. So, Ill resolve this by opposing Blods 24 vs the Captains own Intimidate score, to find out who is he is most scared of! 1d20+12=24 Well how about that. So lets have it work out badly for everyone!

No action from Harry and Fred for now!

GM "Velocity are you?" said Harrow, moving at a speed even faster than Velocity. He paused - a second or two for Velocitie's perception, a nano second in real time. He gazed at the stopwatch. "It's incredible isn't it?" he explained, gazing at the seemingly innocuous device. "Time seems to bend to my will when I held it. And, wouldn't you know, it had a picture of...Megan...in it...." he said, giving a knowing smile at Velocity. "I missed that chance, didn't I. Somehow, I feel this was given to me for a reason. So I could be with you?" he mused. The speed of the conversation was so rapid that anyone else would not be able to hear the microsecond blip of sound - unless they had an extraordinary recording device available. "I sense that is the reason. Something...pulls me to you" he said, with love, and sinister love, in his voice. As he spoke the stopwatch swung in a circle, and a distortion flew from it. It was hard to describe exactly how the distortion felt, or looked, but time seemed to slow to a standstill as it wafted in a lazy, slow, but somehow instant manner, towards Velocity, passing a hairs breath from her...

56 - Velocity - Unharmed - 3 HP 34 - Harrow - Unharmed - 2 HP 5 - Fenris - 2 HP Velocity is just doing the talking, and using total defence action (+4 dodge bonus) as discussed in chat. Harrow is whipping off a Paralyse 12 action. 1d20+16=28 is his attack roll. This will just miss Velocities defence of 29 thanks to her total defence action. Fenris is up. NB: Due to his incredible speed, Harrow now has effectively partial concealment to all senses. EDIT: KD Reminded me Dr Lind is not there, so removed her from combat!

I am away on a course for the next two days. Probably no posting!

Ill take 20 on that, 31 for Hound, 25 for the Mess.

"This appears to the place!" said Supercape, smoothing down his suit. Despite the urgency of the situation, he had elected to wear some rather large sunglasses and a rather low and wide hat. He had no wish to reveal his secret identity to Trigger and Smokey, despite their apparent willingness to help. He had decided to keep half an eye on them. Crooks and swindlers, no doubt, but they seemed to realise they had bigger fish to fry today. Supercape marched up to the large bouncer, stifling a gulp. The man was significantly taller, and much more wide, than he was. Sure, he would be no trouble to subdue with a few choice radiation bursts, but for now, he wanted a more discrete approach. "Just the three of us, Sir!" he said with as much confidence as he could muster.
-
"Hey wait for me!" yelled the Mess and the Crusader sped off. His pumped up muscles had reduced from their swollen state to normal. Although faster than any man had a right to be, he couldn't, in this state, keep up with the motorcycle. He was breathing a little hard, and swept off some sweat from his brow when he caught up. "Damn, don't let me miss the action!" he swore, perhaps a little too loudly, before spying the Crusader trying to sneak up on the "informant". "Whatcha doing there? listening them to death?" he said, slamming one hammer fist into a palm. "Lets get in their and kick some ass!" he grinned, throwing subtlety to the wind and matching forward.
