Captain Cosmos Captain Cosmos was prepared for a head shot - the villain wanted to take him out, take him out fast and hard. He brought his hands up. The claws racked his forearms, tearing the costume and scratching his skin. There was even a spot of blood, but nothing that really damaged him. He barely felt it. Instead, he focussed on his counter attack, a solid jab that would have punched a hole through a brick wall with his strength. Instead, it connected with a glance on Knuckles, enough to knock stars to his eyes and throw him several feet away. Buddy saw the bruise light up on Knuckles forehead, then deflate again. Could he always do that, or is that some effect of his newfound youth? it was a fleeting thought, he paid it little mind. He could hardly afford to. The pertinent point was there; Kunckles could regenerate. Captain Cosmos changed his tactics. He flew over and behind Knuckles and attempted a bear hug, hoping his own (hopefully) superior strength would give him an edge.

So this time CC will use move action to get to Knuckles, then try a grapple. 27 for attack, which is good fortune Then an opposed grapple check which he is pretty good at. 46! another good roll. Feel free to roll for me on any opposed grapple checks (As otherwise it can get slow). His current bonus is +30

GM "My powers? Are they mine?" giggled the Man in Orange. "No, I just stole them! Hahahaha! Theres a puzzle for you! I stole them with my head!" He looked down to the pedestrians (and now, many cars) who had stopped to record and film and point at the spectacle above them. Even in Freedom City, you don't see a two ton diamond in the sky very often. And what about this talk of turning statues into chocholate! "People of Freedom City! I bring you tidings of joy! Merry Christmas everybody! And if anyone can get me out of the hands of this caped oppressor, I will give them their own body weight in gold! But for now, have a little goodwill on me! Hehehehehehe!" From his fingers came flashes of golden light. And then... It was raining gold! Doubloons, to be precise. Golden Doobloons such as a pirate might gloat over and bury in a treaure island consisting of one solitary palm tree marked with an "X". Because every coin had, on both sides, a crude engraving of a treasure map featuring an island with exactly one palm tree. And, yes, and "X". To add authenticity. No matter the cheap fakes, many desperate people below were collecting the coins. And some greedy people too. In fact, there was even the occasional sly glance upward from some odious civillian trying to work out if there was a way to cash in on the man's offer.

Thats fast enough

GM The Man in Orange defiantly held his breath until he could do so no more. With another golden Zam of light, the diamond reverted back to plain old air, and the Man in Orange started refilling his lungs with sweet, sweet oxygen. In between the herculean breaths, he managed to pant out a few words. "Ok.... Ok.... you got me!" he wheezed. "Cancel Christmas everybody! Big shot cape has other plans!" Below them, there were certainly lots of pointed fingers and mobile phones appreciating the view and chattering. "What you going to do now?" said the Man in Orange. "Cancel Easter to? I was going to turn the Centurion monument into chocolate. Yummy Chocolate, mmmm!"

GM The floating Musical Antibodies kept dancing around Bernadette, in time with their music. Bernadette was beginning to get the sense of them now; thanks to her own musical knowledge and feel. They bobbed around in a particular rhythmn, and at the end of every bar, Brrzzzzzzm! More sonic blasts, vibrating though the gaudy air. the Antibodies were evasive enough to avoid the multitude of punched from Bernadette, and one of the sonic blasts tickled her shoulder, sending a buzz through her clavicle. "Ah yes, getting back. Well, that's quite the little puzzle, isn't it!" replied the Duke, stroking his elegant orange moustache. "It seems that the little ritual of this place attracted twins, or something like that, as the gateway." "Each of my fingers? A twin?" said Summer, extending all ten fingers. "Why yes! Very powerful, I imagine. Especially playing music. Now, what say we play the tune in reverse? Can you remember it?" "Well enough..." said Summer, unsure. "And you, can you sing it in reverse?" the Duke ased Bernadette. "And whip us up a guitar for your friend whilst you are about it?"
-
Sadly that is just a miss the two last antibodies will blast back 13 and 23 meaning another DC 23 Tough Save for you

GM "Well, I'm feel just dandy! And having such fun, particularly as you gave me an idea!" the man said, inbetween gulps. "And I'm getting ready to hold my breath, just like a said. If you had any wit betwixt your cauliflower ears, you would be doing the same, because, baby, we are gonna shine!" The air started twinkling golden light around them. ZAM! And then they were both encased in the biggest diamond the world had ever seen! Two metres radius, glittering, perfect, worth untold fortunes! And also suffocating them both. Or at least the man in orange said, who had wisely held his breath. As for the amazing Golden Star, he needed no such thing as air, being powered by far more cosmic energies! "Told ya!" said the man, with puffed out chest and red face, trying to chortle without losing air.
-
We have a sneaky manuever! The air transmutes to solid diamond, encaptuing you and him! it will also suffocate you both, but it turns out Golden Star doesnt need to breath anyway (but he wasnt to know that!)

Gamma Buzz Baz scratched his head with insect fingers. No hair there any more, but it was the thought that count. "Reality warper?" Maybe he could be a real boy again! He quenched the thought. It was a delicate thing, and a delicate situation. Could he give up firing laser beams from his eyes? Yes... no... yes... maybe. In any case, the reality warper didn't seem to be in the mood to help, but rather to play games. It rankled... such power, used for taunting! "Can we kick his ass?" he asked the others. "I mean, are we allowed, and if we are allowed, can we actually do it? Errr... I guess he could just reality warp us into kicking our own ass. So best not kick." "I guess we follow then?" he shrugged.

At the moment CC has hyperdimensional activate, which actually gives him Toughness 15, with Impervious 12, but seeing as he also has penetrating that sounds like it breaks through. Standard Action: Basic Punch 28 I guess that hits, so a DC 30 Tough Move Action: Fly away, staying in ring as far as way as possible within the ring. (Dont want to give him feints!)
-
Toughness Save 30 shrugs it off

GM "So I'm right? Then why are you grappling me?" asked the Man in Orange. The squirming eased, then stopped. It was merely expending energy, and the man was breathing as hard as Golden Star, his orange costume coated in sweat. "You got some fancy notions about all that stuff with gold and diamonds, but i say... Fiddlesticks! Killjoy! Grouch! Why not spread a little fun now and again? Tis the season! Whats the point of doing the right thing all the time if you can never do the fun thing, eh? Look at all the preety silver and gold! And diamonds! Yes, I fogot about diamonds!" He grinned like a maniac who had too much pastic surgery. "I'm going to hold my breath until you jolly well let me go!" he said, but instead of holding his breath, he started huffing and puffing, taking in deep lungfulls of air, the kind of hyperventilation which gave you a good dose of oxygen and made you light-headed and drunk. Although it seemed to everyone who saw the man that he was kind of drunk already - but on what?
-
Captain Cosmos "Nothing so fancy, eh? Not a surprise. No flourish, no panache. No creativity or art. All you are is blood and bone, Mr Knuckles. You truly were born for the arena. And here we are, like gladiators." Buddy took a breath in. It was good to hear the Bear Knuckles wouldn't kill him. Buddy was pragmatic; he would much rather give up his dignity than his life. But he would try not to do either. Failure wasn't going to be a bruised ego, or a black eye. It would be losing the young girl. The Senator didn't need to beg, Captain Cosmos was already on the case. "Don't worry, Senator. I'm going to win your grand daughter back." It was a promise he couldn't be sure he could keep. But the Senator could do with the reassurance, even if it was false. He put that out of his mind. There was a fight coming, and Buddy knew it would be tough one. Brace for impact... he told himself. Dont underestimate....

Golden Star - Unharmed - Fatigued - 0 HP

Diamondlight August knew Pascal was restraining himself, and knew it was costing. Even August, master of a poker face, was impressed with Pascal's ability to keep it together. It was personal. Too personal? Maybe. In any case, he resolved to keep an eye out on Pascal. And the arrested subject - whoever she was. The matter of the second scent was more perplexing. This didn't feel like a simple story; something more spicy was going. He gave a smile-good! He liked it when things were interesting. "What was that second scent like? Seems we have the other half of the puzzle right there. Care to lead on?" he asked.

GM "I have in my employ a young man. A thief who goes by the name of Tom DIckens. Not a bad sort, but he is he theif, more precisely he is an expert at safe cracking. I have used him, at times, to... ahhh...." He adjusted his tie. "Adjust the ownership of some dangerous artifacts, if you catch my drift. I suppose I am therefore an accessory. I do not claim to be a saint, but I am no sinner either. There are far worse than me plying the black market for occult power." He took a deep breath in, and exhaled. "Mr Dickens has, as far as I determine, gone mad. He acquired a golden wreath, I believe from ancient Greece, perhaps imbued with the power of Dionysius - the references are obscure. The golden wreath of transmutation. As it appears to turn rocks into gold, you can image it has been highly coveted through the ages. I have found no reference to curses, however. And yet, Mr Dickens has gone quite ah... bonkers.... since he acquired it. I understand he is currently charging through Freedom City turning the festive decorations into gold and silver."

Gamma Buzz "I got him!" yelled Baz. "I bruised his rocks pretty hard with my kidneys!" This time, an arm had popped out of its socket. He hurt, but he was damned if he was going to show anybody it hurt. "Go get him, team! I've worn him down for you. His knuckles will be smarting for the rest of the day!" He felt his insides churn. For a moment, he wondered what his insides were like now he was an insect-boy. Pretty mangled, he guessed. He didn't really want to think about it. Right now, he had bigger fish to fry. And his head was spinning. "Go give him the slowball slam, Lawrence! We shall teamwork him with beat!"

Ouch! 22 which, I think, is dazed and bruised

GM The Man in Orange might have been running on golden lightning, but he was no fighter. A certain oily cunning, perhaps, but fighting was clearly not his preferred pass time. "Oi! Let me go! Get off! No fair!" he squeaked. He wriggled this way and that, but he was but a man-super speed but no super strength. He may as well have been trying to bend a steel girder with two fingers. "Its Christmas! Thing of all the kids! Why do you have to be such a grouch! Let me go! Think of all the fun we can have! We can go to the Boardwalk, turn all those Gangsters chips into rat droppings! Cmon! Theres justice for you!" Every work was a squeak, every breath a gasp. But despite it all, he kept smiling and giggling.

Surge means Golden Star - Unharmed - Fatigued - 1 HP (Although you may want to use that HP to counter Fatigue) That grapple hits, and completely stops him, so lets drop out of combat for a moment!

Captain Cosmos Or whatever... clearly Bear Knuckles hadn't really thought through his plan, and even if he had, the nuances of economics were beyond his brain. Perhaps he had been knocked on the skull one to many time. Buddy knew better than to tell Bear Knuckles to calm down; a phrase that always had the opposite effect. But he did get a feel for the man-Bear Knuckles was ripe for taunting. He floated down and planted his fleet on the ground. He kept his face cool - but he felt himself tense. He could shrug off a bullet, but he had the strong feeling he was going to be blocking Bear Knuckles fist with his face. He sniffed. There would be blood on his costume tonight. "Well then, what do you propose? Pistols at dawn?"

Gamma Buzz "Whoa! And Whoa again!" said Baz, dodging left and right. "Haha! You are no match for my amazing Gamma reflexes, are you, hombres? I can easily dodge your attacks. The attacks that miss, anyway! Hurrah!" With a mighty leap, he flew through the air, doing an impressive cartwheel. "Up from the floor, gonna give you more, breathing gamma, head in a... ummm... pie, something something something, something cool...aaaaaah!!!!" he yelled-sang. In truth, it was more yell than sang, for Baz was not that great a singer. Enthusiastic though. Mid cartwheel, he exhaled a green atomic fire, spewing the light over Fathom and Granite!
