  1. GM "Wha..wh-wh-wh-wh-what?" stuttered the Police officer. "Yeah, i'll take up mall security...beats standing in the rain on a cold winters day" he said without much enthusiasm. "As for Knuckles, he is some low life street trash. Street hustler, a little sharper than most, and the word is he can handle himself. Bit tasty with his hands, if you know what I mean..." he said, giving Blod a knowing wink. "Anyway, Knuckles and some of his goons got hired for some dock work two nights ago, stepped right in and took over from some of the regular dock workers on pier twelve. They got some big ship up there, a hauler called the Prince Edward. All seems regular and everything, but the way the workers got shoved out, well, tensions are high. Knuckles is loving the cash though, and flaunting it." He waved his night stick to the soft light of fires beneath the pier. "And now he is fighting them! Drunk as hell, but even drunk, he is battering those that want a shot at him half senseless...watch your step with him!"

    Story Talking!

I have mulled over, for a year or so, the idea of a European Superhero team and a more involved story arc for them!

  4. GM Stockholm, Sweden February 12th, 2013, 11.00am The sun was bright but low, shining on cold snow. Stockholm did not enjoy much light at this time of year, but when it did, it had a certain beauty. The Venice of the north, with its buildings unblighted by the Blitz, the snow deep and white and its rivers still flowing, was in full swing. And so was Lord Robert Harrow. He stamped his feet as he paid his taxi fare and, with his rather elderly aide by his side, stomped into way into Katastrof & Sorenson Technologies. "I'm here to see Baron Katastrof" he muttered to the reception. He was tired. The flight had been longer than anticipated, and he hadn't slept well last night. He passed his calling card to the receptionist and rubbed his tired eyes. "I'm sorry I'm late. Flew in from Heathrow this morning...." he said in an apologetic but somewhat steely voice.
  5. GM Meddows clapped El Sierpe in several pairs of handcuffs and scratched his chin. "Y'know, i'm still not satisfied!" he grunted. "This guy is more slippery than Houdini. I'm gonna ask you guys for an escort till I get him in a cell. Ya hear that, mister?" he said, giving the unconscious man a tap - perhaps a little harder than could be termed gentle - with his boot. "As for where he was. I didn't see anything. I was dazzled by the sunlight, you see. Next thing I know, El Sierpe lands in the dust just north of the border. Well, no point making a meal out of it. He's a wanted man, after all!" he said brightly, with a wink. He hauled El Sierpe into the patrol car with great satisfaction. "He can't slip out of this one!" he said, rubbing his hands together. "Thanks guys! if you ever get into trouble down south, give me a call. I owe you one!" ~ Fin ~
  6. Ill wait for Blods response before pushing forward. Yeah, basically dirty cop is intimidated!
  7. NPC "Aw she sure is pretty" commented Fred, scratching his chin and snatching the picture, studying it. "Ah..yes...she certainly is. I am sure Mr. Zhou is very proud" said Harry. Wiggling his eyebrows at the check in his hands. "Well, if she is a metahuman that complicates matter. Potentially makes this more difficult, although potentially easier as well. They can stick out, you know. Little signs, like being on fire, or walking through walls, or even things like barking when they wake up in the morning, purely as an example. " "I'll make some enquiries, see if I can come up with anything..." He coughed slightly. "Do you have any personal artifacts we could, er, borrow? something that she would have every day, that, er, would be, um, in close contact with her, like an article of clothing or something?" he asked awkwardly.
  8. If possible ill take ten on that to auto pass
  9. "A trinity of scurrilous brotherhoods" commented Rene, who was disdainful of both king and priest. "It bodes not well for the place, nor us, I fear. It indicates a certain gravity to the place. Which you can smell, I am certain. And gravity will always crush. If not the body, then the spirit. " He stroked his beard. "Ah well, so be it. I was, it seemed, born to circle gravity. It makes the soaring more dramatic, I should think!" he chuckled. "Now then, whilst I form the impression that time is not of the essence, neither should we unduly delay. Tell me, can you feel Gallia? can you divine a path we should take? or should we investigate the village and make our inquiries? or, perhaps wisest, do both?"
  10. Hound is seeing if he can track any scents from the murder crime scene. Taking 10 (or 20 if he has time).
  11. NPC "Metal Mask eh?" replied the Hound, writing down every word Mabel said, which, he had to admit, was somewhat jumbled and not spectacularly helpful. Still, there were some grains of salt in what she said. Some huge great slabs of salt actually. "Well that is interesting. And a little bit scary to be honest..." he added, giving the Mess a pointed look. "That's where you come in my friend" he added to, giving his partner a little jab with his shoe. "And a man in Red? hmmm...someone else looking for this guy is there? could be complicated..." "Anyway Ma'am, thanks for your time and patience. You have been a great help. If you remember anything else, please let these gents know..." he said, slipping a card to the transit workers. He strolled off with the Mess, deep in thought, until they hit the Caddy. "Time for a bit of nosework, my friend..." he concluded, as they sped off to the scene of the crime. A little later... When they got out together, the Mess was accompanied by a slightly mangy looking mongrol dog, all hair. It was, despite it's rather shaggy matted appearance, in good health and strong. And had a good nose for crime. "Let's see if I can pick up any scent..." it barked. That is, it spoke, in English, with a gruff dog-like voice.
  12. Supercape studied Azel carefully. He sensed a bluff, but he was not a lawyer. Nevertheless, he was disinclined to fall for this. If the law really was on her side, and he doubted it, then he would hope that allowances could be made. "Really? Interesting. I suppose you are an expert in civil law as well as interdimensional physics then. Perhaps you would care to show me documentation to demonstrate your legal right to tamper with such energies in this building would you? I know well enough that far less dangerous experiments require considerable scrutiny from civil authorities. I set up a particle accelerator not a few blocks from here and that was a legal minefield that was only just passed. I would have to cast considerable doubt on your legal authority to do what you have done, unless of course you did gain permission" He smiled, growing in confidence. "But no. I think you mistake me for someone easily fooled. I think you mistake me for someone easily bluffed. I think you mistake me for someone who has not considerable ability and experience in these matters. I know with certainty that ownership of this building does not give you carte blanche to do what you want in it. " "By all means bring the lawyers in. I have faced worse. I've saved the Earth from obliteration on more than one occasion. Possibly including this occasion. I can face down a couple of suits and ties. And even call in the financial resources to do it. No no, I am not scared of your bluff. I call it as such. " "What I am curious about is why you would try to convince me to be beholden to you. What would you want of me?"
  13. NPC "Say no more, say no more!" reassured Harry, gently soothing his way into the wallet of his guest and (he hoped) Mr. Zhou. "If she is in Freedom City, we can find her. We know this city like the backs of our proverbial paws..hands..." "Dont ya worry, mister. We'll find her!" saluted the Mess with a bottle of milk in his hand that he directed to his thirsty lips. "Indeed, indeed!" chuckled the Hound, full of encouragement. "Now then, could you give me a few details of the young lady? her name, her appearance? any particular marks or features, like tattoos, scars, birthmarks, that kind of thing? height? weight? can she speak English?" Pressing further, he continued. "More importantly, how do you think she came here? and why? does she have any contacts here?"
  14. NPC "Sure Ma'am" replied the Hound, his nose crinkling. Sweet Mary mother of Jesus, she reeks worse than most homeless wasters... One of the downsides of his exceptional nose was the alertness he had to less delectable smells. This being a case in point. "We heard you might have been a witness to a murder earlier tonight, Ma'am..." Sweet Lord in heaven...the stench... "...in the West End. We don't know the full details. The man's name was Noble, although you would not have known that. Dragged off the street into some sidewalk. Did you see or hear anything? please Ma'am, this is very important. We want to keep the streets safe, something I am sure you can *ahem* appreciate..."
  15. "The ground, for starters!" said Lord Steam, activating Cressida's inbuilt kettle and serving up the three heroes some rather spiffy grey tea. "Or at least as close to it as we can. I feel rather uncomfortable in the air, to be quite frank. I shall have to take up ballooning, something more serene..." "But for now, I suggest we drop off these fellows at a suitably secure facility, in other words one with a lock, key and most importantly, a reasonably robust roof. Then, time to reconvene in Steam Manor, and work out exactly how we deal with Madam Vapeur and her conundrum of words!"
  16. i will second that, thanks again TiffK and I am up for part 3
  17. Tagged for the Hound, the Mess, Lefty and Righty.
  18. "Yeah yeah, its all hush hush so don't go yapping yer mush about it ok? all secret and all. We can't talk about it and every'thing..." yapped a happy Mess, pleased to be able to talk about his pride - namely his profession. "All con-fee-dent-shall as they say. So anyway, this guy gets murdered in the West End. All gruesome, ya see. Blood and everything. So I was wandering along and..." Harry winced and put his finger and thumb to a furrowed brow. "...and thats when we ended up here. Seems this Mabel might have seen sumthin' so we needs to check it out!" concluded the Mess a few minutes later, after yabbering to the workers about the con-fee-dent-shall information.
  19. "I wonder if you should get it" replied Supercape. "The name is Supercape, madam. On account of my marvellous cape. A rather resplendid thing, as I am sure you will agree" he explained, mentally enlarging the said item and getting it to sparkle. "Azel, I am afraid I had no understanding that this was your building. I detected the trans-dimensional anomaly here, and had no option but to investigate. I wonder if you are aware how dangerous such things are?" "And as for...Knives was it? or Taraxus? well, he attacked us. In such circumstances..." He gave a shrug, not taking his eyes of Azel for one second.
  20. NPC "Hey Ricky, you little devil you! let me buy you a drink!" smiled Harry as he walked in, mocking up a friendly pistol shoot with his empty hand, thumb cocked and forefinger puffing out some imaginary smoke from the imaginary bullet. "No need to get up, no need to get up!" he added, placing a friendly but firm hand on Ricky's shoulder. The Mess placed down a much firmer and less friendly paw like hand on Rickys other shoulder. "No need at all!" he added, grinning widely. "I see you met our lawyer" said Harry, indicating Lucy. "Drop dead gorgeous isn't she?" he smirked, giving Lucy a wink. "Now I'm sure a man like you with his ear to the ground and his nose to the gutter has all sorts of interesting information and topics of discussion he could entertain and charm a woman like her with. So don't mind us. We'll just make take a back seat. And Freddy here will keep guard at the door, to make sure we don't have people using it inappropriately!" he explained, with a wide smile.
  21. NPC One beat up Caddillac ride later... "Here we are then" said the Hound as he stepped out of their car with his partner, who was munching on yet another burger and downing a massive coke. The Hound had some cold coffee in his hand which he resolutely held onto, taking the odd sip to swirl around his mouth. "Damn late..." mumbled the Mess, his mouth full. "Don't go moaning to me, partner" sighed Harry, lighting up a cigarette with one hand. "You started this whole case..." he moaned. Harry walked up to a pair of station workers, who had drawn the night shift. "Hey folks. Sorry to bother you. We are looking for some Homeless lady, goes by the name of Mabel, pushes around some shopping cart. I understand she wheels around here at night? any idea where we might find her? we are looking into a serious crime, we think she may have some information...."
  22. NPC "Delicate? Why that's our middle name!" replied Harry eagerly as the Mess stood up, scratched his backside, and creaked his neck. "You can tell Mr. Zhou that we are the solution he has been looking for. Mr. The Hound and Mr. The Mess, that's me and my partner over there, we are experts!" Watkins and Berkshire....Watkins and Berkshire... "So, down to details. Which, er, will include the matter of payment, as I am sure you understand. What particular case does Mr. Zhou need investigating?"
  23. Supercape blinked, his plethora of supersenses spinning as they realigned themselves to this new phenomena. He was too old and wise to be taken in by a beautiful woman, but not so old he did not recognise her beauty. Enigmatic! "I..think you will have to refine your question, Madam..." he said, without giving ground or taking it, and making sure his force field did not waver. He was not beat yet, but he had expended considerable effort taking out the burning man. "...the answer, I suspect, is defending myself. But, as you have refrained from introducing yourself, I am afraid I do not know what your property is!" he said with a polite smile.
  24. NPC "Will ya get your ass of that damn sofa and....oh! customer!" Harry smoothed down his shirt, ignoring the coffee stain, and did up his crumpled tie. He looked marginally less crumpled than before. That was to say, he looked very crumpled. "Please come in sir! welcome to the Bloodhound Detective Agency! Your problems are our problems! Your Worries are our Worries! Your Money is our Money!" "Please take a seat..." he said, sweeping off some donuts and take away coffee from the table. "How can we help?"
  25. GM "Hmmm...spare me the poetry" sighed the Master in a cold breathless voice. "If I wanted poetry I would have re-animated Byron. And don't think the thought had not occurred to me. Poetry breathing life into the soul? I gave it a shot animating Tennyson. What a bore he was...endless droning on the nature of death. I felt not a thing..." "No, no, where you can help me is by dying again. Properly. I can extract your essence and investigate it scientifically. In combination with analysis of your brain tissue, it will surely unlock the key to my accidental success!"
