  1. It has been updated! Once again, apologies for any errors, or omissions I have made (its hard to get completely right). Feel free to post here or edit for any protestations! As before this has been calculated based on maximum possible strength. Density counts, Growth (somewhat arbitrary, I know) does not (I called that leverage!). Variable powers are a grey area - if it fits with descriptor, it is in. Devices are not allowed.
  2. too much GMing. Editted!
  3. Glow is up!
  4. GM The webbing of the Silver Spider had bound Towers and fully trussed him. However, that didn't make any difference to his vibration. The man was helpless, locked into a state of overdrive. "He...he can't stop!" explained the floozy he had brought along. "He got some ability...when he gets tested, he comes out clean, no trace... but the drugs in him, they get even stronger!...you gotta do something!" she wailed. On that note, Towers screamed for help as he broke through the flooring and started drilling straight down through the earth. "Save him!" screamed the floozy at Glow and Silver Spider, as the vibrating Towers sank deeper and deeper into the underground of Freedom City. The Mall Cops decided to save the day by phoning the ambulance like Silver Spider had suggested. But stop the super-vibrating, sinking Towers, they could not!
  5. Sorry for your recent :thud: , hope it doesn't spoil the birthday and get well soon!
  6. For once, Freddy stepped in. "Yeah, me and Harry here, we got a little business going. A detective agency. Harry does all the snoopin' and investigatin' and I...I do the other stuff. You know, when things get a bit tasty..." He cracked his knuckles, arching an eyebrow. "Don't get to thinkin' that I'm too short to fight, Missy" he said, shoving another piece of steak into his mouth and talking with his mouth full. "Me, I'm one of the super-heroes. They call me Bloody Mess. I'm stronger than I look, and yeah, I look pretty strong..." Despite himself, he flexed his muscles under his t-shirt to show off. He did it with, it must be said, a smile. "Anyhows, back when I was younger, I got mixed up in a bad way with the Mob. They...took advantage of me, I guess. When I said no, they put a coupla' bullets in me, left me bleeding to death in the gutter. That's when I really got mad!" He chuckled. "Ever since then, I been out to get even. Both with the mob, and, yeah, to make up for what I got myself into. The Bloodhound detective agency we run, we are here to help people..." "...for a price!" chirped in Harry. Freddy frowned. "Yeah, well, if they can pay. But basically, we are here to do good. I'm going to be one of them super heroes!" he smiled. He cracked his knuckles again. "Me and lefty and righty" he added, showing the appropriate fists.
  7. Well I had a rather interesting encounterwith those winged fellows from Greenland. Complete with exploding zepplin's and a fabulous design for a steam gun..." "It's a rather refreshing dimension, this, I have to confess. Always something rather spectacular happening. And your crooks! Dr. Sin, Conundrum...fascinating chaps!" He had done his homework on his favourite topic for this dimension. "Is your good self a lover of crime --- fighting?" then, giving a slightly ambiguous pause in his words to judge her reaction.
  8. I took a few literary liberties to keep pushing forward. I hope its ok to say Glow and EH push the boulder aside, let me know otherwise. The tunnel is dimly lit (so partial concealment for anybody who does not have appropriate super senses), and is sufficiently cramped that you are a) flat footed and prone. (again unless you fancy doing some digging or something). Finally, I'll Give EH some recovery time, making him fatigued (As opposed to exhausted)
  9. GM The uncanny hearing of El Heraldo could pick up the slithering hero. He was quiet enough, but nobody is that quiet slithering around on their stomach. It was the sound...of an echo.... The trail lead straight to nowhere...a large rock on the side of a hillside, maybe 200 yards from the first border fence with all its camera's and steel. A tap on the rock...an another echo... Between Glows telekinetic power and El Heraldo's strength, the boulder was simple to shift (although it would have taken a strong man to move unaided). And down below, was a dimly lit tunnel, stretching all the way to Mexico. It was cramped, enough for a man to crawl in (or for the elusive El Sierpe to slither down), and highly claustrophobic. The only consolation was a string of dull green lights and the cable that stretched along the narrow passageway...
  10. YOu can follow it for sure, I just wanted to get a handle on how fast! Ill get to IC Post shortly. On a side note, Scuffs, Super Senses are a bit of a complex one! It took me a while to get my head around it. For what its worth I would suggest: 1. Chose what sense type (Visual, Auditory, Olfactory, Auditory, Tactile, Mental, Radio). For what you describe its probably going to be mental. Think about whether obscures and dazzles would work on this sense. You could possibly go for Radio. 2. Pay 1 PP straight out for your sense type (like it costs 1 PP for infravision) 3. For a mental sense, you get nothing out of the bag (for Radio you would get ranged, radius, acute). For a radar-like sense you pretty must need to get Ranged (+1 PP), and Accurate (+2PP) (to know where things are). You probably want to get (but it depends how you envisage it) Acute (+1PP) (To tell things apart other than 'blob of matter'), and Radius (to detect things behind you). 4. Add extended (+1 per x10) if you can do it far away, and analytical (+1 PP) if its really really precise (you can count the hairs on a head with your sense). Id suggest something like TK Awareness (Mental Sense, Ranged, Accurate, Acute, Radius) for 6PP. Expensive, but it means you are very much covered against dazzles, obscures, and concealmnent. The nature of the power would mean you probably couldn't detect intangible 3 or 4 objects, but thats in the descriptors.
  11. This sounds good to me! Throw me a notice roll for that. Scuffles - if you have any ideas post here!
  12. Ok, Ideas / thoughts for how you guys track the slithering one? Any super senses or tracking etc? You can catch up with him of course, I'm just getting a feel for how fast, and under what circumstances!
  13. GM Meddows scratches his chin, now ripe with stubble as he gazed into the Mexican border. His shades blocked out most of the fierce midday sun, but he frowned anyway. "Well, I guess you guys are faster...but I know this area....and I know tracking..." he said, to himself as much as the heroes. "Here..." he continued, passing them both hand held radios. "So we can stay in contact. And I'll follow, just in case. El Sierpe ain't gonna catch me off guard this time. And he ain't getting away with what he done!" he fingered his gun on his belt. "But, you guys are faster than me on foot. Just make sure you catch hmm, huh?"
  14. First snare hits (as he is flat footed). His save is 1d20+10=13 which means he is fully bound! Ill say, however, that his vibration aura will damage the snare as it hits: 1d20+8=28 and no worries there! ROund 4 46 - Towers - Prone, Fatigued. , Bound 19 - Glow - Unharmed - Fatigued - 1 HP 17 - Silver Spider - Bruised - 2 HP post away Az! Then I will get to Towers...
  15. GM A little later, by the coast of Mexico... Meddows was not boasting when he said he knew the terrain. The man was competent, and knew the arid land well. From the car wreckage, which was already being cleared, he was able to pick up a trail. A trail like nothing else - in the dust and sand, a man. But a man slithering on his stomach. He pulled up in a cloud of smoke in a rather beat up but serviceable police car, sirens blazing. And got out of the car. The land was getting broken. Easier to follow El Sierpe, but harder for a car to make it. He pointed at the horizon, where the fences and barricades that made up the Mexico / USA border lay. "We ain't far behind, as far as I can make out. Man is fast, but still on foot. He ain't flying, and he ain't no Johnny Rocket. I guess we can catch him. We just got make sure we catch him before he crosses the border. We ain't got guards everywhere...enough to make sure that yer v'rage illegal immigrant don't get across. But this guy...well, even if he weren't some crazy ask snake blood drinking villain that moves like one, he is still one of the biggest crime lords down south. He must no ways to cross..."
  16. Just want to clarify Az, at present he is pretty much prone anyway - although as he is directly below you, that won't be a ranged attack penalty. HOw would you like to act?
  17. A little later, at the 'Nice and Greasy' Diner... "So that's what she said" explained Harry to Fred, who was tucking into the diners famous "Break the Steak" meal, a slab of poor quality steak on his plate, endowed with a variety of condiments. A few frazzled chips and limp looking vegetables sat on the side. Harry played with a hot dog without eating it. Somehow, Revenant had taken away his appetite. It didn't help she looked pretty foxy, he decided. "She seems great for us, man" drawled Freddy, wolfing down another piece of meat and burping. Freddy was a pleased as punch about her. He felt in his gut, a soon as the Hound had tracked her down, that she would be the lady they needed. "The Mob ain't gonna be touching her. Sounds like she can handle them pretty well, and don't like 'em muchways! Oh, hey, is that her? Tall pale lady, looking pretty swell? "Yeah, that's her...." sighed Harry, not knowing quite why he was sighing.
  18. Let me know if you want a cut to somewhere else. Ill leave the flow of narrative to you guys at this point!
  19. Although Rene knew he could not change the mecurial and often cruel world of the Faerie, he was not without sympathy for Parsinkle and Hartfouls cause - in a manner of speaking. But the words of Parsinkle at the end hardened him. "Stern rulership is has had, make no mistake. I have felt its iron brains and cold chains. It was not good for the world then, and it is no better now. Stern Rulership only suits the rulers, until, once the vain and transient reward of power has faded, and the ruler is left only with the bleakness of what he has made. Scared to trust, alone, afraid..." "And let me ask you how you intent to impose your will on Earth? you may be king here, but not there. The Freedom Leauge and Earth's mightiest heroes will oppose you. For all your armies, you lack the strength of sword and will to take Earth!" "What message do you wish me to take? a declaration of war?"
  20. Supercape dared not look back at Trigger, although he wanted to impress upon the man some courage. "Not if we have anything to do about it!" he said, defiantly. His gaze levelled at the man directly. "If it is to be the end of everything, then we have nothing to lose" he said pointedly, his words directed at Trigger even though he looked directly at the figure. "And everything to fight for!" he added. Even as he spoke, his uncanny senses were gazing over the rift, trying to discern what was going on. "So tell me, how is the end of all things to happen? with a song, a dance? or some vague threats from a chained man?" "Perhaps I should throw you back into that rift!" he added, his voice firm. If this was going to be an end, he would go down fighting, that was for sure.
  21. GM "Pleased to hear it!" said Meddows, pressing his body in various places to make sure it was now in once piece. "The guy just slipped out of his cuffs, easy as you like. Then, it was pandemonium in the car - he took out the two officers in a blink of an eye, then grabbed the wheel...we went into a spin...and..." he pointed at his hospital bed. "I guess right now he knows he has blown any chance of a lawyer saving his ass. He is going to go to Mexico if I had my guess. Probably on foot, stay away from the roads and all...." "You can sock it to him from me, when you see him!" "In fact, I'm coming with ya!" he said, jumping to his feet and giving a helping hand to El Heraldo. "I feel right as rain! quick, we haven't got a moment to lose! the longer we delay, the colder the trail! we have to stop him before he crosses the border!"
  22. Yes, as he is flat footed! So, that is a DC 22 Tough save from Towers 1d20+6=24 which he makes! Post away IC Silver Spider is up!
  23. NPC "Ah yes...sorry about that..." said Harry, gulping somewhat. He still felt an uneasy what with her being undead and all. But then, practically everything made Harry uneasy. He took out a crumpled hankerchief and mopped his brow. "Just nerves, what with you being...errr...differently alive and everything" he said, pulling at his tie and collar with anxiety. She smell's dead too... he noticed. Not in an unpleasant way. Just in a not alive way. His nose was fairly acute even in human form. "Well, my partner and I, we might get into a little bit of trouble with the Mob, ya know? A certain my Frankie Flames tried to burn down our agency last year. Least, tried to. Freddy - my partner - got hold of him and knocked the stuffing out of him.... ...well, you see, the Mob is no friend of ours. So, aside from your fiscal attractiveness, it would be helpful to have a lawyer who isn't going to fall for a Thug and the wrong end of a revolver, if you catch my drift. I doubt you would be scared of them, what with you being...err...your...special status, and all!"
  24. "Oh yes! The tea is better over there!" Oh a bit of this, a bit of that. Keeps me out of trouble..." said Lord Steam airily. The truth was, M has exerted pressure on him after that ruddy Lord Bellowforth started agitating. "...well, not out of that much trouble, obviously!" he added cryptically, with a wink. "Well, I am an official ambassador from my dimension. I have some diplomatic duties, but its rather dry usually. I let my staff deal with most of that. What I really enjoy is a battle of wits with a master criminal! I am spoilt for choice in this dimension!"
  25. Well, as you are aware, this is about the fudgiest fudge in M&M rules I could interpret this in a whole stack of ways. This sounds good in principle...no, whats the attack roll?...gah...this brings up the whole confusion about what operating and actual PL are on this site.... But, heck, lets keep the ball rolling. The best comprimise I can come up with is that the defence systems are PL 15 (+15 attack, +15 DC) and it takes a standard action for Fleur to activate them (to stop her getting effectively two attacks / round). It still gives a whopping great blast! 1d20+15=25 it sure hits. For toughness roll. 1d20+8=11 PLANET SMASH! The two trees:1d20+2=6, 1d20+2=22 well, they may not combine their attacks, but thats a nifty critical on Grue 3! 1d20+8=10 And another one down! Ok, at this point I am inclined to say game over. With two Grue left - and three heroes (albeit worse for the wear / poisoned / out of HP) its not worth playing out meaningfully as the last two are going to be KOd next round (or even this one). Fleur, feel free to narrate the defence system and the trees disposing of the remaining Grue as you see fit! I hope thats ok with everybody. GK and Gabe can also narrate being poisoned as they see fit (as they took several strikes) but at the end of the day, combat over!
