  1. GM The scrawny figure, whose name was apparently "Jenkins" - not a name he divulged, but rather one gleaned from the name tag that was just legible on his confederate uniform. The man had, months or may be even years ago, been a soldier for the southern armies. Now, the skeletal husk was a fanatical worshipper of the Serpent people. The trudge through the swamp was even slower with Jenkins, who was not in the best of health and not in the best of moods. He constantly mumbled under his breath, in words that made no sense to either of the heroes, and probably not to Jenkins either. As the swamp got thicker and thicker, turning into twisted mangrove, Young Brittania and El Heraldo could feel something twisted about the flora and fauna, and even atmosphere. It was hot, wet, and uncomfortable. The lizards, toads and serpents that had previously seemed exotic now looked bizzare, as if they were heading into some terrain of horrible dreams. "Closer closer...the Serpent people crushed, scattered...by the lady of the swamp...." whispered Jenkins, his eyes wide and throat hoarse, fear gripping him. He turned to them. "Even Broken Crow...lost...to the lady in the swamp? can you feel it...it never ends...." Crows crowed and toads croaked, and thinks slithered in and out of the water all around them. They both had the feeling they were being watched. And indeed they were...the eyes of a half dozen or so savages...hidden in the swamp....gazing at the intruders....
  2. GM El Sierpe was stong - Glow could feel his vice like grip that belied his pudgy hand. But the remote fell from his palm, perhaps due to the surprise he experienced. He glowered, and pointed his wooden serpent staff at her. "You are a slippery young woman, but El Sierpe has had a life time of slippery men and women try to undo him. I grew up in the streets of Mexico City, a poor orphan. I had to crawl, like a snake, to feed myself. Do you know what that's like, girl? No! you have had the life of sweet caress and care, and blessed with power not seized or bled for. I spit at you!" he roared, doing just that. "There is nothing in this world that tastes so good as that which you bled for, my friends. No, not nothing. Not the love of a woman, not the fortunes of gold. And I have bled. On the streets and in the mansions. I became El Sierpe. I drank snakes blood, I know of the Serpent people of old. Not for me the worship of their degenerate kind. But their power, yes...I would desire that!" He laughed, somehow merry and hollow at the same time. "Let me introduce to the friends I have made!" From the cracks in the walls, from out of holes and grills in the mansion, came an outpouring of snakes of all shapes and sizes, from small venomous vipers to gargantuan annacondas!
  3. "Well my friend" said Rene to Marceau "I feel almost 200 again!" he said, gazing out at the panoramic view from their appartment. "This realm is full of vigour. Mercurial and ephemeral. That is not always a good thing, however. Youth has its attractions, but it fades like all things...." "And seductive, too. One could get lost here. Full of the joys, and then the horrors". He sighed deeply thinking of lost loves and old flames. "But now, let us not be caught up with splendour and mirage. So, Parsinkle is not yet a king, but schemes to be. The plot thickens! And I think we should go exploring!" With that, he whipped out his paintbrush and showered the pair of them with his invisible ink until they faded from view.
  4. Thanks, Ari, you speak Abu-Ranswithian really well! Yeah...I guess thats Initiative roll! Anyway hold your horses on Initiatives! and the Inspire is in place for first round. We shall keep Initiative for when it kicks in after parley! 27 - Glow 25 - El Sierpe 20 - El Heraldo
  5. Yes, although it will take a minute into a full costume...unless you want to just put on a bandana and face mask or something. Or whip of an HP for Quick Change Feat.
  6. Synth was genuinely shocked when the man disappeared. Her instinct about the man's eccentricity was certainly justified. He had just managed to evaporate into thin air! She circled the stone quickly, to check this was not some subtle and ingenious parlour trick, or mirrors and shadow, but she could detect none. The possibility of alerting the guards crossed her head, but what could she say? a man...disappeared into thin air? no crime had been committed. She would just be labelled a lunatic, or a trouble maker, having a prank at securities expense. Instead, she went to the large stones, to read the translations of the Hieroglyphics.
  7. "It seems Robenspierre and the government of France have some arcane tendrils, then" he replied, referring to the Prison of the prince. "The Prince is the bait, and his jail, the trap? I congratulate you on your plan. It is not only plausible, but poetic...although I fear Gallia, or the Countess, I am not entirely sure which I am addressing, has more than ample wits. This could me a most dangerous game...." Summoning his bravery he ruffled down his clothes and strode back to face the Countess. "Dear Countess!" he started, filling his lungs and words with as much formal confidence as he could muster. "The night begins to fall and thus the hour of our strike! M'lady and I can sneak a small retinue in to see the Prince, and a small retinue out. A matter of guile and bribery. M'lady has contacts and influence in the most reputable, and disreputable of places!" "But let us make haste to Paris, where we can make preparations to steal the Prince away under dark night!"
  8. Edits made :approved:
  9. "Another dimension? who would have guessed of such a thing!" replied Lord Steam with a wry smile. "That explains this marvellous ship. And perhaps even your smoke and mirrors trick along the airwaves" he continued stroking his chin and drumming his fingers. "And what brings you to return to this dreary dimension?" he inquired, studying her carefully. "It's tea is quite sub standard, you know...." he complained, airily flicking his fingers at the imaginary offending article. "And perhaps too why you went fishing for us with a little statuette?"
  10. All adds up as far as I can see! Fluff works. A few small things. 1. Forcefield, as it stands, will be visible even at rest (its not invisible as per your fluff). If you want it to be invisible its subtle feat (as per house rules you may want subtle 1 or 2) 2. The Formatting is great, thanks! except for the device, could you fix the formatting for device in line with the rest of your powers? 3. From the looks of it the magic powers is about swirling air and the like? there is no absolute need but you may wish to flesh out the descriptors in the fluff slightly for play. How does the snare work? tendrils of darkness? chains of metal? what is the create object? the blasts? what do they look like, what are they made of, that type of thing. 4. Technically the power loss could be applied to Flight, Force Field, and Magic separately, although it would be considered a 1 PP drawback to each (same difference, I wade in with that because other refs might!).
  11. You can indeed! Synth is meant to be a juxtaposition of perfect beauty and no style / social ineptitude / ewww....!
  12. Without fine-toothing this, it all looks pretty good to me. Some suggestions / comments: 1. I dont have much of a flavour of Danni herself in terms of background. At the moment its hard to get a flavour of her, and how she matches up to some of those skills and feats. For instance, irrespective of her appearance (and appearance is not the same as attractive feat!) I am not sure why a complete Nerd / Goofball has a generic attractive feat (although she might be attractive to other nerds!). 2. Is there any flavour or system to the Sombra-La's Magic? We do allow broad descriptors like "Magic" or "Cosmic Energy" but it is easier from a dramatic point of view to have at little narrower a field - truly broad descriptors allow you to stunt any effect of them. If you want such a "skeleton key" approach it might limit you from a narrative perspective (its of course very powerful from a gaming perspective). At the moment I'm not really seeing any pattern or theme to her Magic power. I'd suggest fleshing this out and deciding on one, as most of our magic using heroes have one - for instance, Changling is an "illusionist", Nick Cimmitiere a "Necromancer", and Rene deSaens is a painter (it kind of makes sense...) they can all use ritualist feat for other types of magic, but their main array is all about their particular field of magic. 3. The trade offs are a little high. Legal, but high. I personally think you will find them a bit frustrating at that level. +5 Attack is going to be quite frustrating. +5 Defence might seem attractive when you have a +15 Toughness, until you get hit by fortitude or will (or reflex) effects that will eat you up - the character has not got particularly high exotic saves and combined with such a low defence you could end up spending a lot of time stunned, dazzled, snared, etc etc. My advice would be to tone these extreme trade offs down a little - maybe +/-3 to keep in with your theme but to stop it getting annoying for you. Having said that its a personal choice and it is legal.
  13. Reconfiguring array: 1 PP for an extra eyeball (its not technically a power, but I figure it fits...) 2 PP for anatomic separation 1 (Extras: Continuous)
  14. odd... Synth was no expert on human culture, but the man looked out of place. A velvet cape was not something she had seen before, even in Freedom City, who had a variety of exotically costumed characters. Then she noticed his gaze, following it to the security guards and camera's. a thief? a rich thief? she pondered, looking at his jewelled walking stick. This was very strange, although plenty was strange to her. She had an innate distrust of wealth, feeling it a cruel inequity on the human race. One to keep an eye out for... She moved to the large window in the Egyptian exhibit, leaning on it for a moment with both palms, then wandering away, all the time keeping an eye out on the man. On the ledge of the window lay an eyeball that rolled to the side, looking out to the skies where the man had been gazing.
  15. GM The two vampires - or whatever they where (with the Master's experimentation one could never be quite sure) - looked at the Doctor with pure hunger. "He runs this operation very well...we have no interest in you, or taking you down..." "He prepares the most marvellous meats...can you not smell him, prepared and induced, full of life, brimming with life...all the things we have forgotten..." "The morsel is our salvation..." "Such agony, to distil his essence and not feast..." mumbled the female, gripping the bannister overlooking the casino as she eyed the Doctor with a steely gaze. "Come with us miss!" said one of the two security guards, as two hands gripped either of Revenants arm in a firm but not aggressive manner. There was a guard on either side of her now, each holding a taser in case of trouble.
  16. He cant match that so post away the remote device snatch. El Sierpe's initiative is 1d20+12=25
  17. Thanks Guys! and sorry! Corrected Bruises, and Siphon is up!
  18. GM Jackson blinked at the sight of the young girl trouncing the much heavier man. "I see you have your own bullies!" he replied to Kristen "You probably need some protection, the amount of damage you cause...although I would have thought a superzero like yourself would prefer to use your powers of mayhem instead of getting some crony to do it" He hobbled to his feet and brought out his camera to whip up a few snaps. "Shame I didn't catch your glow on film" he muttered at Kristen, but he seemed satisfied with his pictures as he checked his digital camera. "But at least I have something to report for my bruised behind! ohohoho! Towers is going to be mad at you when he comes out...!"
  19. Catalyst 2 HP - Bruised x3 It certainly does hit! and snares him 1d20+2=17! Post away.
  20. You sure can do a TK grab! Post an attack roll, he will be flat footed for that attack and you can take advantage of Arichamus' inspire. As this is descending into combat, could I have initiative rolls for after Glows grab?
  21. Rene sat back, relieved at both the honesty of Constance and the falling into place of his fractured heart. "I see...a spirit of France is it? well, if such thing's twist and flow with the spirit of the country, it has every right to be as mad and bloody as our land has been. Our land is changing, and change is always painful. So, is Gallia insane?" he asked, musing to himself. "I hope for one that we can free the Countess from her grasp. Aristocrat she may be, and perhaps one that courted this disaster, but to be the puppet of such forces...this is slavery of the worst form!" he pronounced, his spirit flaring once again, with one hand smacking into the other to emphasise his point. "Now! seeing as you have parted the veil, and I presume Robespierre is wise to the machinations of this, what is the plan? how do we deal with Gallia? how do we found out who or what she is?"
  22. The two remaining tanks have basically had their weapons snared by Catalyst. They could run you over, but they aren't that fast. Really Erasmus is the only significant threat right now. So its pretty much close to wrapping.
  23. Shaken, not stirred. i.e. pale, weak, sleepy, but not yet passed out.
  24. That puts her 3 rounds away, 18 seconds! Fluff that a bit in terms of getting into the van, and driving very skillfully!
  25. Out of costume thats only 24, but yeah, just a sore ass but not bruised!
