1d20+20=32 Physical Sciences roll for Supercape, plus a Hero Point... Plus GM Handwavium To the power of rule of cool. Yes, reversing the polarity of the neutron flow could neutralise him, in theory. If someone could make the adjustments to the reactor that is.
-
"I think I can manage..." said Supercape, sliding off the bed onto the floor and promptly sinking to his knees unsteadily. "Yes, yes, I'll be fine!" he said with a weak grin as he managed to haul himself upright with a wobble and a shake of his head to clear the cobwebs. "Now then, where was the fellow, and how do you suggest we deal with him? He could take apart the whole building and cause a meltdown if we aren't careful. He could take apart a whole region of Siberia if things get really bad... overload him? what about reversing the polarity of the neutron flow of the reactor?"

GM "Good luck, gentlemen... and lady!" saluted Major Spiker as the heroes entered the ship. For it was indeed time for blast off, on a mission to save planet Earth. Around mission control, banks of computer terminals, manned by high calibre technicians and scientists, spewed forth streams of data that monitored every possible mission parameter. Little could be left to chance. The heroes were venturing into fundamentally unknown territory. It was fortunate indeed that some of the finest minds and bravest hearts on the planet were on that ship. Slowly, the countdown began, leaving the heroes to check their own readouts, and contemplate their own thoughts... 10...9....8.....7....

Well, I think this is kind of the wrap for the thread. Comments at the end can be for a hook to a follow on thread if you so desire?
-
That will do nicely sir.

"Oh dear..." muttered Supercape, before closing his eyes and concentrating. It took some doing, but he had soon worked out the entanglement between here and there, and the flow of energies between the two meant he could sense all that was occurring in Reactor B. Namely, a massive surge of energy that was all to familiar. "Its Hiroshima. He is bleeding the reactor dry... no wonder he has bitten off more than he can chew. He has gorged himself beyond his capacity to control!"

Very weird! I will edit slightly, although its largely fluffonium.
-
NO worries... it seemed appropriate to erupt some radiation back, but if its ok that can be fluff till his round?

GM "On it" said Slick, who was already speaking to the Police on his mobile. "Powerful stuff, whatever it was..." he said, flicking his mobile shut. "...I guess the Police have the resources to look into this, with the right forensic investigators. But I wouldn't be surprised if there is a little more to this" he added, looking around the old building. "Like necromantic wards, for one thing. Maybe there is something a little arcane going on. Necromantic wards? Baron Samedi?" He shrugged. "I don't know, its more up your street" he said, referring to Nick. "But something odd happened here, something to keep an open mind about. "

And we are off! Please see OOC thread for how to hook in - although these are suggestions, feel free to crowbar yourself into the thread another way!
-
OOC thread for this thread. Jubatus, Carrie, and Fenris go detective! To hook in, Carrie is going to be contacted directly for help by Ms. Wells. Ideally she and Fenris can have some reason to either be socialising or bumping into each other. Jubatus will be pulled into the dimensional transportation by means of PLOT science, as he shifts when travelling superspeed, and gets caught up in the machines energies, effectively getting pulled along with them (this was Cubists Idea!). Above hooks not written in stone - just my thoughts. If you wish to play in another intro, pleas go for it!

GM Later, on Earth Prime 8th March. Ms Henrietta Getrude Wells arrived on Earth Prime in the Brit Machine, trying to be less conspicuous this time. As she was dressed to the hilt in Victorian Garb, and was driving an automobile that looked like it was half steam engine, half junkyard, that was somewhat difficult. Suffice to say, she did not succeed. As the crowds gathered around the vehicle, all piping, whistling, and spinning cogs, she brought out he trusty copper plated Omnitron, and adjusted a few dials. The medals awarded to the heroes of the British Empire (having originated in her own dimension) could be honed in on, and used to transmit her message. "I say, I say. Ms. Wells here. The British Empire of Earth Victoriana is in need of your assistance!" she said, hesitantly, tapping the Omnitron cautiously.

Somewhere in London, Midnight... Lord Lockwood pushed open the door to the cellar. He had spent over a month tracking down this operation, and all the evidence was conclusive. Admittedly, he was now technically breaking the Law, but only to preserve it. Breaking and entering... technically. Ms. Henrietta Wells had commissioned him to solve the problem. Experimental weapons from the Royal Metaphysical society had gone missing. All sorts of arms and ammunition that the British Empire took great care in maintaining for itself, in order to preserve its military supremacy. They had been disappearing.... He pushed the door open with his cane, which opened with a horrible creak that made him wince. It was almost pitch black in the cellar, so he risked lighting the gas lamp he had brought with him, but kept the flame low. Carefully, he pried open one of the crates in the cellar, and his eyes widened as he saw the contents. "A ha!" he proclaimed. "You shouldn't have poked your nose in, Lord Lockwood" came the voice behind him, and before the detective could spin around to face the speaker, a heavy cosh came crashing down on his skull, bringing sweet oblivion. "Now then. What shall I do with you, hmmm?" came the voice as it bent down over the defenceless figure...

Rene opened his eyes. "Dreamland..." he muttered. "Ze landscape is... impenetrable. Or rather, very vivid, but completely changeable. One cannot trust ones senses here. Heh. One cannot trust anything". He pondered the matter briefly. "Is this her dream? are we in her soul? if so, I would very much like to know as much as possible about what ze young lady is like. And what she fears. "
-
Rene was huffing and puffing behind Arcturus. He had an inkling the progenitor beast would not be far behind, but he did not know how near, or how soon, the creature would be met. And then, there was Sir Thomas and Arcturus to consider. Both could be hot headed it seemed. What would the beast be like? cunning or just hot headed too. And would it exert any influence of Arcturus? He felt a vague sense of premonition, or warning, lurking at the edge of his consciousness...
-
Danger sense roll from Arcturus then! Rene's danger sense: 1d20+8=14 just failed (DC 15).

"Ouch" shouted Supercape, as he spun with the force of the blow. The concrete cracked and disintegrated as it smashed against the quantum force field surrounding the caped hero, but the direct impact was enough to blast dust over him and hurt. "I confess, I am loosing my temper somewhat!" he said, with a scowl and bared teeth, as the junior blob erupted in another blast of gamma radiation.
-
TOughness Save coming up. Im going to try to remember his pre-loevel boost toughness which I think was +14. 1d20+14=21 A bruise. He can take it! Gamma Blasting back!
-
Despite his pain, there was nothing wrong with Supercape's extraordinary senses. He could pick up the chatter through the intercom without any problem. "" blurted out the speaker. Of course, Supercape couldn't speak Russian so he had no idea what they were saying. "" came Russian voice over the intercom. "That's Jolly nice of them, they sound concerned!" remarked Supercape, not understanding a word.
-
Yes, for now - more concerned there isnt a radioactive spill off goo everywhere first (I presume there isn't although happy to deal with that too).
-
But of course!
-
Supercape gave a small salute. "I don't like the look of this, if you ask me" he muttered, scrutinising anti-Talos. "But I dare say you know what you are doing, given you have been here before..." He started doing the reverse calculations for the trip back, and already a wobbling of space around him could be seen. "I'll keep a quantum hole open so I can pick up your transmission. I have to sleep at some point so that will be black out time I'm afraid, but I let you know if there are any problems my end. For now, I'll just wish you good luck!" The wobble intensified. "I'll be watching!" he smiled, and with that, he was gone.
-
"Very well then" replied Supercape, cracking his knuckles and studying the Printout. This one took a little longer than normal. Inter-dimensional travel was a little more tricky, especially as he hadn't been to this dimension first. It was hardly top of his wish list, after all. He started mentally sifting through the infinite dimensions that split and entwined around each other, until he had honed down the correct point of divergence. "All for one..." he mumbled, still concentrating, and laid out his hand for the other Hero's to grasp. And when they did, two worlds, two points, became entangled and the almost unfathomable occurred. There was a bending and distortion in the space around them that hung in the air. And then, they had arrived.
-
"Errrr....not so well. That is to say, somewhat ambigious... err... he dies, basically. Some vague notion that if England is ever threatened again, he will return and wield Excalibur etc etc. " He shrugged. "Myth's... what can I say. Even if they are based on fact, they are perverted into fiction. I just remember thinking it was a dashing good read when I was a young lad. And the code of chivalry is one that we should all aspire to. "
-
SUpercape slowly descended to the mess below him, his senses scanning the remains of the blob - and its debris. For one thing, he had no idea if it was still alive, regenerating, or anything else. Its physiology was almost unknown. Secondly, the thing had absorbed enough gamma radiation to poison a small city - and the last thing he wanted was radioactive fallout in the city. "That's put a stop to it" he called out to his comrade. "Whatever it was...It looks harmless enough now..."
