Quentin pulled out a hankerchief and dabbed his eyes. Just a spot of dust he said to himself. The truth was, it was all very emotional and he couldn't help but feel pleased as punch for the happy couple. They looked splendid, and they radiated joy. One couldn't help but get all caught up in it. Of course, he half expected some megalomaniac super villain to emerge from the floor in a mole machine, and noted that the vows omitted the "objection" clause - but - he held his breath - the floors or ceilings did not crack, the windows didn't shatter, and there was no evidence of mind control going on. So it looked like this would have a happy ending after all.

31st January Supercape stood in the uppermost level of the Lab, above him only the hanger's where air vehicles and satellites were being worked on. He was listening in on a video conference about NEAR... the united nations programme of Near-Earth-Asteroid Removals. The plans that had been worked in seemed painfully inadequate if something ever did happen. "Thankyou for your time" he said to the delegate on the VR "I think the projects need a little working through... *ahem*... and development. We can devote some of the Lab's resources to run through various options. In my opinion we need something more robust if we ever did face a threat like that..." Fortunately, his own quantum powers would allow him to scan the solar system quite well. He couldn't scan everything, of course, but he should be able to catch large events. Thank goodness he never had! there was no reason to panic. None at all. Meanwhile The strange time-space anomaly just off from Pluto pulsed slightly. It didn't exist in conventional space-time, and had been remarkably good at blocking and shielding itself from Supercape's powers previously. Slowly, and without much applause, it belched forth a rock. More than a rock. It would dwarf any city, and cover most of a state. It span at a leisurely pace and hurtled towards the centre of the solar system at an extraordinary velocity, as ice and silicon crystals splintered off its shell and scattered behind it...

"Are you now?" inquired Rene. "Well, you handled yourself well enough tonight, I can assure you" he patted Marcus on the arm with a face full of encouragement. "Do I detect, from the trepidation in your voice, a degree of... uncertainty about the... magic thing?" he asked, raising his hands to paranthesise the last phrase.

OK, so Jube has a ton of supersenses, not least of which is acute, tracking olfactory sense! Its DC 10 to follow the trail, as its not particularly complicated, and you can take 10 on that to automatically succeed. Ill throw in a notice roll here, to see if he can smell a bit more than just burning! DC 15 for what is actually burning. DC 20 for precise nature of the stuff.

As Jubatus whizzed back and forth, all he could here was the drum and bass of a dance track that was now pounding through the intercom of the building, making it hard to ascertain exactly where it was originating from. The signs of general vandalism were everywhere: tipped over bins, smashed machinery, grafitti... And now, the smell of burning...

I'm not entirely sure you could stunt it for auto hit and impossible save... ...but it hardly matters - its close enough. Flame ON! Extra effort ---> they die.

The last anarchist, startled at the blistering rate at which his two comrades had been subdued, lost all sense of reason. He stood up and ran as fast as his legs would carry him. If his brain had been functioning at all, he would have realised that the chance of outrunning the blur that was Jubatus was futile at best...
-
OK at this point its handwave time! One perp is left functional, so I'm not going to bother with the combat here - he runs and you can have narrative control about what goes down - physically at least. Interrogation or Questioning might need appropriate rolls.
-
Sure thing! Dazzle def hits 1d20+3=5 and blinds him!

Sounds good Quote. Will set this up immenently: I am not entirely sure if it goes in "Skies above Freedom" or "The Lands Beyond". The latter is slightly more technically accurate, but I like the poetry of the first! Also up for any suggestions on thread titles. Otherwise I will use something cheesy like "Starhammer!"

Posted right back at ya!

"What the..." spluttered one Anarchist, dazzled by the speed of the cat, and barely able to speak before he crashed into his fellow, knocking them both to the floor. His head clunked against the concrete and his consciousness faded into a deep sleep. His entangle friend pulled out his gun and fired in a reflex move, with the shot going completely wild, hitting a light which fizzed briefly and dimmed, adding to the confusion caused by Jubatus' blistering speed. The very confusion that saw the last remaining upright anarchist take a telepgraphed swing at the hero with his baseball cat. But he was no match for the Cat's reflexes and speed, even if he had been thinking clearly.
-
Ok There are two thugs still conscious! Anarchist A is prone, will pull out a heavy pistol and fire! 1d20+4=8 Also, with a -4 penalty for shooting into melee. THats going nowhere! Anarchist C swings at you with his baseball bat! 1d20+4=14 also a non-starter! Will post immenently. Next round: 35 -Jube - 1 HP - Unharmed 4 - Anarchists x 2 - 1 Prone, 1 Unharmed. The Visual Dazzle with the Fire extinguicher will be a standard attack, as will the duct tape stunt - so unless spending an HP to "Surge" you cant do both in one round. The Duct tape will be a power stunt, sufficiently cool to be free!

The reading room, or library, was (unusually) open to the public today. It was never completely secure, serving more as a quiet contemplation room full of archiac tomes and computer terminals. Whilst not secure like the rest of the lab, it did require a library card. However, as today was a full "open" day, it was rather populated. Shame, as it would have been a good place to reflect on the days events with his Laborian friends. In the lift, he spoke into his commlink to the others. "Went pretty well there. Still a throng downstairs, so don't venture down unless you are feeling particular charitable. I fancy a cup of tea myself. And a debrief! Floor 8 communal room?"

Quentin half-stifled a laugh. The girl had, in his opinion, done everyone a favour - Weddings could be all to stifled with everyone insisting on complete perfection. An innocent comment like that broke the ice. Nothing was ever perfect - we can only strive for "good enough". Mind you, those suits of the groom and company were top notch. He approved thoroughly.

"Careful..." muttered Rene, who had by now developed a healthy fear of presents. I'll never open another gift wrapper present in quite the same way... he thought to himself. He briefly thought about the chaos that the "deliveries" must have caused in Freedom City. He hoped no children would have opened a box by accident... Christmas would be ruined forever! bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Came the tiny sound. Rene's old eyes could only make out a greyish blur, but Victories superior enhanced vision could make them out clearly enough: a swarm of microscopic robotic flies!

Its not really needed mechanically as its a single entity, but you could certainly do something like Strike 11, Extra: Line (Flame Jets).... was that what you wanted?
-
Absolutely, as the array is basically "Jets" that works fine. Its 29 PP Array I think, so you could do a straightforward Blowtorch Jet: Strike 15 [Fire descriptor], Maybe with PF: Extended Reach 14 (70 feet!) Or other combinations!
-
My general rule is: if it wont cause a disadvantage, it isn't a flaw.
-
Ok! I have to say I'm not a huge fan of M&Ms grapple and throw rules but I will do my best! You win the grapple as a move action 1d20+5=15 If you do so, for some reason you can throw as a move action. I presume your Strength at this point is 18, and the Anarchist weighs in at 175 lbs. 175 lbs is heavy load for STR 14, enough to throw 5 feet, which is enough in this case. (EVery 5 Points more strength, you move up in progression and throw further. Just short of STR 19 im afraid!) The throwing is an automatic hit as its a minion. Now then *cracks knuckles*... damage. p162 I think Anarchist A is an improvised weapon, being thrown at Anarchist B. Damage is equal to Strength bonus on Anarchist B, so its DC 19 1d20+2=21 he actually makes it! Now, the Anarchist A (who has been thrown) is effectively knocked back, so he is prone for one. He is also takes damage: 1 rank of KB effectively so its DC 16 1d20+2=10 and he is out for the count! Tying up Anarchist C will be another round (of course you may choose to do something else!) Post away, and then I will do Anarchists B and C revenge! - then onto next round.

Rene took out his brush, and started painting mid-air. Nothing obvious happened, other than the subtle blurring of colours and lights from the brush. It took a little time, but before long, Marcus was garbed in a smart suit. "Illusionary" said Rene. "But it will keep you descent till you find some proper garb". He looked at the ruby pendant that Mary had been given by the nightmare creature. It was perfectly real in this world too. "As for this" he said, gazing at it "I don't think we should let this stray to far, hmmm? I'll take a look at it later. Best not to think about it, I imagine". He pocketed the device.

Whatever you fancy, quote. Its going to start with discovering the asteroid, and I'm open to volunteers for this, although Supercape would certainly be a candidate with his Radar ESP. People then need a hook in. I was loosely planning 3 phases: 1: Discovery, discussion, planning (and getting 'in on the action') 2. Travelling and Landing (this might be short) 3. On the asteroid. Of course, all of that depends on how things play out!
-
Rene gazed at the ruby medallion in his hand. "As long as children sleep, there will be nightmares. And as long as there are nightmares, there will be a boogieman... as I think you call it. " He sighed, looking at Mary hugging her parents. "All we can do is make sure we are not ruled by fear, not one of us. An impossible task, but one we must aspire too. " He winked at Marcus "I don't know about you, but I was scared witless!" he laughed.
