  1. 1d20=8 for Supercape's Initiative (whenever it kicks in).
  2. "No thank you" replied Slick, as graciously as he could muster. "I was rather fond of my old body. Well. Bodies. I would rather have that back if you don't mind. " "Prostethics have never really been my thing. I prefer natural. Maybe a bit of silicon at the most. Although, credit where credits due, this translotor gizmo-gadet is rather handy. "
  3. Professor Quentin Quill had done something a bit unusual for a friday night. He had gone out. Well, his fridge was all but empty and he didn't fancy another night of cereal. He wasn't a bad cook, all things considered, but he was rather forgetful about actually buying any food. So, as it was Friday, he had decided to treat himself to some fish. He was fairly well off. Not rich, but he could certainly afford to eat out at a good restaurant two or three times a week if he desired. So he had taken a taxi to the Waterfront, popped into a good seafood restaurant, and taken in the jazz band playing there. He had had glass of good crisp white wine, to cleanse the palate, but as he was dining alone, had stopped there. When he heard the massive roar, and shattering glass, he was very glad he had not indulged. As the customers fled outside, he stepped to one side, into the kitchens, and ran out of the back entrance, transforming as he did into the blue and white costume of SUPERCAPE!!!
  4. No, but Ultimate Effort has to be bought separately for each skill / save etc. So, whilst you have Ultimate Effort (Reflex Saves) for this encounter, you won't have Ultimate Effort (stealth) for instance.
  5. Im not sure you need the HP for defensive roll, with the +2 Situation bonus. That would mean you have 1 HP left.
  6. Supercape had on his tweed Jacket and bowtie. It was, as was now his habit, actually his customised Supercape, a lattice of unstable molecules held in a 11 dimensional state, that would rearrange itself according to his wish. He never knew when he might have to change into the caped hero. If nothing else, it saved on cleaning. He had contemplated bringing some flowers, but, quite frankly, it would be like giving him a kindergarten book on numbers. He had brought some tea bags, instead. Earl grey. And a nice bottle of port. He didn't know if Stesha or Derrick drank, but a little tipple would go down nicely. He had elected to cycle to their residence. It was his way of keeping reasonably in shape. Since he had worked out how to travel to anywhere in the multiverse via quantum holes, the temptation to use that was great, but he had resisted it. He had been pounded enough as a superhero to realise keeping fairly fit was part of the job, and so he had kept up the cycling around the city. He strode up to the front door, coughed into his hand, and gave a firm knock on the door.
  7. Rasputin up next, who releases a cloud of freezing cold! Zero Range, Fort Save, Cloud AoE Rank 15. DC 30 Fort save, (DC 30 Reflex save to reduce Fort save to 23) Carrie gets +2 Situation Bonus to both saves for having a fire and smoke next to her.
  8. The clock was ticking down the final minutes. Supercape pressed for the elevator shaft A (one of the three equidistant spines running up and down the periphery of the Lab). It would take them almost directly to the speaking podium of the Ground Level. "Ladies? shall we?" he asked, politely offering them the lift first. Never hurts to be chivalrous... At the Ground level, the intro music, Also Spach Zarathustra, started playing, and the lights started dimming. Lasers light displays started spinning, and the spot lights swung on to the podium. All was ready. Camera's started flashing, but the crowd went silent.
  9. "What does this do? some kind of... oh! thats much better!" said Slick, as his rudimentary speaking apparatus melted. "What a relief, I didn't know how much longer I could keep it up. Everything seems to be become more and more... well... liquid. I just felt a tingling, then a vibration, like I was a tuning fork. Then... this!" He gave an experimental wobble. It looked like a pebble had landed in a still lake. "I can just about control some of the movement, but that's about it. " "Fantastic gadget, doc!"
  10. "Righty ho, chaps" piped up Supercape over the intercom. "By my estimates, the Bucanneer is about 22 miles north of your current location. I can fine tune your position when you get a bit closer. There is a clearing in the forest as it starts to spread out, and thats where it has parked - under its stealth field. " "Hop, skip, and jump! and good luck! I'm counting on you chaps!"
  11. For my part, I would say keep it to the Opera.
  12. Reaction post would be best I think.
  13. Unfortunately not - Defence +14. I am presuming thats a move action (to the Tsar melee range) and a standard action (punch-tastic?) Still need Heritage to make the save vs. Tsars Bullet (DC 23)...
  14. "Yeah its got go faster stripes and everything!" winked Slick. "Its nothing fancy, just a customised Bugatti Veyron, all black. Looks nice, but no gadgets or anything. I put a decent sound system in, of course" He pointed dramatically at the entrance, and held a classical pointing pose, before proclaiming. "To the Slickmobile!" and giving Wesley a big grin. "Chin up, gotta enjoy the perks, or this job will get you down!" he said, before leaping to the door.
  15. "Very sensible" replied the crackling voice of Supercape. "Diplomacy would be the best option. Failing that, deception. I'm sure Kraken is a thoroughly reasonable fellow if you could just sit down with him, have a cup of tea and watch some cricket. " He thought for a moment "besides which, going in with blazing guns near starship engines may not be so wise. " He thought for another moment. "And also... does anyone of you know how to pilot a starship? if not, you will need to use some subterfuge or charm"
  16. After Grim makes save throw, I believe Cannonade is up next. [bystanders fleeing, Ms. Wells fretting on intiative 10]
  17. The young Russian prince looked on with surprise and respect as Grim tore her way through his guards. "Those men would die a thousand deaths for their country! and so would I!" he proclaimed, taking careful aim with his large iron pistol. With a burst of steam, and flash of powder, it fired. The aim was true, and it struck Grim hard. Discarding the steaming pistol, he reached to his ceremonial belt and unsheathed his sabre. "You will not find me such an easy foe! I am the finest blade in all Russia!" he boasted.
  18. Supercapes voice came through the cellphone with a large burst of static that was too loud for comfort. "Sorry about that" he replied "the anomaly is now realising the odd pulse of radiation. Counting down, so to speak. So yes, by all means to try and proceed with all due haste. Drive, fly, or jump. Hop to it!" I do hope they get a move on... he thought to himself, fighting down his frustration.
  19. Slicks central sac rose again. "Yegggh, ighm fully congshough... forgh now...." "Sorggghy to be sugch a drip..." he quipped. He was very reassured by Doktor A's presence. Smartest man in Freedom City, maybe the planet. If he couldn't help him, nobody could... ...then again, that did rather out the pressure on, so to speak. "Cangh you helghp?" he wheezed, as the sac rose and fell. It was getting progressively harder to maintain even the simple vocal structure he had formed.
  20. And I think thats a wrap! Enjoyed that!
  21. Tsar is up next, and will take a Pot Shot at Grim, before drawing his Sabre. The Tsar is based on Weapon-Master, but +12 all round attack, and has a steampunk pistol (Blast 5 equipment) as well as Russian Sabre (Strike 5, Mighty, Penetrating, Improved Crit 2). He is also immune to cold [would kind of have to be...] . A few other non-important details such as speaks Russian (d'uh...) Anyway, an attack roll on Grim. 1d20+12=31 Ouch. Lucky that wasn't a crit! Damage is modest, but it is Iron, so from +5 to +8, meaning DC is 23.
  22. The smoke from the poor burning gardens of Kew will provide obscurement to a local area around Carrie for now. It will progress, spreading partial and full concealment to visual senses every round (I'm going to wing that).
  23. I believe that means Carrie is up next!
  24. Quentin smiled. Yes, I guess that did help. Humanity, that is. And a kiss on the cheek he added, on reflection. He followed Etain up to the remains of the lecture, and gazed around the church, the clergy, and the attendees. All blissfully unaware of the horrors of the evening. Of how things might have been. He scratched the back of his neck. "I hope that's the last of that lot" he said "frightening stuff. Demons, pacts, curses, all that soft of stuff. Bit beyond me. From whence does it come" He looked at Etain "And to where does it go?" he asked, meeting her eye to eye.
