  1. Supercape exhaled, very slowly. He had seen incredible events, on subatomic and astronomical scales, throughout the universe, using senses that humans did not possess. But that was something quite eerie. His whole body, and mind, were awash with relief as the ash blew away into the ether. He had touched something quite cold and horrible today. More cold and horrible than any alien planet. As he relaxed, the frozen oxygen slid back into its normal gaseous form with a gentle whimper. Somehow, it seemed appropriate at this juncture to slip back into English. "I don't mind telling you, Etain. That was.... extraordinary. I feel relieved, but kind of... cold inside, too?"
  2. "Very well then, its decided! and your support is always welcomed, Herr Doktor! Danke Schon!" replied Supercape. Stop delaying it. You have given tons of lectures before. Admittedly, not in front of live TV camera feeds... He glanced at the cameras. "Nearly time then, folks. Just a few words each, and then a little mingling and all that jazz. Then retreat back here. " He coughed and cleared his throat singing "lalalalala". He glanced around at his fellow laborians - "Just clearing my throat" he added, by way of explanation. Taking out his PDA, he took down the order of speeches "So, its Gossamer opening, then the rest of us can chip in. Thanks again, Gossamer. Jolly good show. "
  3. Well, ill do the drain save first! 1d20+13=27 makes it. And for the strike... 4 bruises.... 1d20+4=13 Second staggered, and KO. As its an infernal beast, feel free to post according to your whim - either killing it or banishing it, or just KO'ing it. All are acceptable at this stage.
  4. Quentin looked at the beast, and was still fearful. The white light of his previous burst still glowed, causing further pain and enragement. Etain's blade had clearly managed to do more damage than he ever could - and it seemed fitting that she should finish this. "Hold still!" he commanded the beast, and concentrated on the dusty atmosphere around his foe, encouraging the molecules to bind to each other, shifting them up and down various levels of excitation... until the very air around him had frozen solid, encasing the beast. "" he said to Etain, in a low tone.
  5. Down to 26 COn right now, -2 every minute (Hence I am counting rounds) And actually, as he is flat footed, thats a hit! 1d20+16=25 Just saves vs the drain toughness and 1d20+5=13 OUCH!!!! Staggered, Stunned again! Next round Demon - 21 - Stunned [until 13], Bruised x3 Quentin - 19 - 1 HP - Unharmed Etain - 18 - 0 HP - Unharmed Quentin is up again: Afterglow effect hits Mr D once more. For his standard action he will freeze the air around Mr D, as a transform effect. Its automatic hit, reflex save. For afterglow effect:1d20+13=23 another bruise (4 Total) 1d20+9=11 Poor guy. Snared. Quentin will have to maintain that, but it makes him a darn sight easier to hit (and he is helpless).
  6. Seeing the beast open up with the white afterglow of his previous assault, Quentin quickly pounced on the agitated photons and stirred them up until an agitated state again. He was still working largely in the dark, not understanding the demons physiology or even if it really existed - but he was going to give it his all. Again a searing bright light bathed the demon, and this time a faint ozone smell could be detected. The robed man dropped to both knees, held his head back, and roared. His hands turned to claws and his head grew two blazing horns. The beast was being exposed.
  7. ok. I think thats Etain out of HP (for now!) New Round [3] Demon - 21 - Stunned [until 19], Bruised x2 Quentin - 19 - 1 HP - Unharmed Etain - 18 - 0HP - Unharmed. As Demon can do little but groan, its straight onto Supercape, who is going to hit it again with a radiation burst. 1d20+15=19 Those bruises have woven their magic. Stunned and Bruised again!
  8. Well, stunt away. In which case, you are fatigued at the beginning of your next round action. (You can burn it off with what I think is your last HP if you wish) For fairness, as this is somewhat of a retrospectostunt, I will be using his last roll of 19 to save versus the drain toughness, which he makes. For the strike effects, 1d20+7=24 Pretty good, but another bruise. You have your stunted sword of whatever, available until you choose to change it for another alternate power.
  9. EDIT: No changes to mechanics, but noted that PP costs for abilities and powers have changed (+4 to Powers from Robe of Mists, -4 to Abilities from WIS loss). Have tidied up accordingly. Hope that means approval still valid as nothing actually changed.
  10. You could of course stunt it to be a toughness save In fact, with PP 33, it would be quite feasible to stunt it to a corrosion effect (Linked strike and drain toughness) representing some kind of magic disintegrating weapon against demons.
  11. An easy hit. His Will save, unfortunately, is still rather good. 1d20+13=32 More than enough.
  12. This was a tricky opponent, conceded Quentin, as he reached out with his mind, examining the form of the beast. No doubt a mystic eye would have seen all sorts of peculiarities and forces, but to his scientific one, it was atoms and molecules like any other. He couldn't pause for a close analysis, of course, but he was reassured. He knew had to handle physics. Reaching out, he nudged some subatomic particles this way and that, and tried to encourage the bonds that bound the molecules to loosen. Whilst he was not successful at tearing apart the atomic structure of the demon, a small crack appeared in his atomic state, and a blast of the residual proton glow forced its way into his shell. "" screamed the demon, as he sank to one knee and growled in pain, every orifice glowing with white light.
  13. The Afterglow effect kicks in DC 25 1d20+16=19 oooh, not good! Stunned and Bruised. And for Quentins proper action, lets add to the pain. Atomic Unbonding, drain toughness. DC 20 Fort Check. 1d20+13=32 Ah, not so good. Oh well, still bruised and stunned! Posted IC, the nimble Etain up next.
  14. GM Snarling at the sight of his precious meal edging away, the Robed beast also crept forward. "" With a wave of his hand and a complex arcane sign, he mumbled some half heard words, of horrible resonance and inflexion. A greasy, smoking, black chain appeared in his hand and the room filled with the smell of brimstone. The chain was forged of no ordinary metal, but of energies arcane, and as he swung it towards Etain like a whip, it snaked and came alive, expanding, twisting and turning, to greet Etain in its embrace. But once again, the prey was to swift, and whilst the chain started to wrap itself around Etain, she was able to step out of its grasp before it constricted and evaporated in a puff of brimstone.
  15. Mr D is up again, and this time, he is angry, seeing his foe back off, its mystic chains time! ATtack roll 1d20+13=26 Thats a hit! Reflex Save for Etain, DC 23.
  16. Hmph. Not a gentleman? thought Supercape, for an instant. Anyway.. good to have him on board, he was the father of the Lab, really. "Excellent stuff!" he exclaimed, holding up a finger and circling it to emphasise his point. "And aside from your generous offer, it is most fitting you are here, as you are the prime reason for the building and the organisation. In fact, if you would be prepared to make a little introductory speech, I am sure we would all be grateful!"

  19. Slick wandered outside to the night air and stretched. Damn, he felt exhausted. Not from the time, but the evocative nature of the performance, and the memories it dug up. He scratched his chin. What with his fathers death, and recent events, he was perhaps being more melancholy than the last few decades. And of course, he turned to parties, wine, and women (and men) to distract him. But, if he was honest with himself, he was getting to old to distract himself. He had lived seventy odd years behind a mask. That was too long.

  21. Quentin hardly new what was going on. But he did know that whatever faced them was something that should absolutely not get loose into Freedom City, or the world. Without further ado, he reached out and enveloped the creature in bright light. Concentrated protons bounced around in an aura, surrounding him. The beast appeared to wince slightly but that was as far as it went. Still, glowing, he fixed his steely gaze on Quentin. "" he whispered through gritted teeth.
  22. Supercapes traditional Radiation glow DC 25 Toughness Save 1d20+17=27 He makes it! It will hit again next round from the afterglow effect. Forgot to note, the demon has lost 2 points of CON so far, so his toughness save is +16. Wouldn't have made any difference.
  23. Supercapes traditional radiation glow attack. Auto hit as usual. DC 25 Toughness save for Mr. D 1d20+17=27 Made it (not by much!) The radiation bask has an afterglow effect, it will hit him again initiative 19 next round.

  25. GM "" smiled the bronzed, bald man, barely showing his teeth between his thin lips. " The fiery spear swam towards Etain, and would have clearly hit her, if she had not dodged the infernal blast. As it was, it crashed into the wall behind her, sending crawling streams of hellfire across the wall. Shadows danced across the crypt as the pyrotechnics faded. Dust fell from the ceilings and the support beams creaked.
