Bingo! Well, I will award one HP as GM Fiat in that case, to avoid you getting everything instantly! However, you get to know a lot. An extremely powerful hunting demon has been summoned (choose your own names). He is, at present, confined to the relatively small area under Freedom City. The more witch folks, or mystical things, he destroys, the larger his prison becomes (eventually, if he kills enough, it will cover the whole earth, at which point he could allow Una to enter). The beast is driven by an insatiable lust to kill mystics - whilst it is very intelligent, it is like a shark to blood in this regard. Unfortunately, underneath Freedom City are various Crypts and old bones. Very poor fare, but enough for it to feed on to grow, and gain power to reach the surface. Also in the book, somewhere (you haven't found yet) is the beast's true name...

"Deary me" observed the rotating Supercape. The invisible Anomaly had just collapsed another level. A burst of Hawking radiation hit him. Quite harmless at this magnitude, but still... Little point in applying his super senses to the anomaly just now (other than his irresistible scientific curiosity), so he may as well try to help his new friends. "Ahem" he coughed down the airways. "The Stellar Buccaneer has landed about 25 miles north north east of Freedom City, just past he forest. It won't be visible to the casual naked eye, but you will probably feel or see some distortions near it. I can direct you as you get close..."

Ok. What a balls up from me - sorry about that! Anyway, have edited it all to ship shape fashion. You did indeed fell the first goon, Supercape the second. Deleted a few uneccessary posts accordingly. The above OOC post on your magic sense still applies.
-
Ah yes, I was terribly remiss there, Aoiroo, sorry! I will get to work editting accordingly. In the meantime, will save for mystic. 1d20+6=19 KO! I will edit accordingly. It will probably mean deleting some posts.

He did, scored 23 - I am presuming you are referring to the initial dazzle?

For reference, the totem is now largely drained of magic, although it was a vessel. The book is magical, and references summoning a very powerful demon as per the pact, who would be bound to Una, but only given progressively more "Freedom" the more witchfolk it slays. It will take some time (minutes) to scan the book, although Knowledge (Arcane Lore) rolls will progressively add to the story. Feel free to make one after a minutes scanning. In addition, the whole area is becoming perfused with low level magic. A demon has been summoned...

So, another blast from Supercape. 1d20+1=5 toughness save. And another KO.

Supercape shook his head, the ringing in his ears and light in his eyes had evaporated in an instant. He presumed that whatever Etain had done, she realised that he had got the blunt end of it too, and undone her work. Of course, he hardly needed eyes to see. A quick snap of his fingers (for effect) and the totem-holded robed figure was bathed in a purple green light that pulsed around his body, heating the air and giving of a notable smell of ozone. The man collapsed in a heap in front of him. Quentin walked over to the two collapsed figures, the glow around them fading slowly. He knelt down to pick up the book the first figure had been reading from. It was leathery, old, and unmarked. He passed it to Etain. "Make anything of it?"

Its a new round. Mystic A is on init 6 as is Supercape, although Supercape has lost the decider. Mystic A will be up in a bit...

Ok, so Supercapes up! [Of course, Supercape dosen't really need his eyes... hearing is quite handy mind you] And it will be a straight pretty radiation glow on the totem holder... auto hit [perception range] Toughness save vs DC 20 1d20+1=11 KO! [Minion, by the way!]

GM Etain's Cutlass clearly demonstrated what swordsmanship should be, and struck true. The robed figure stared at the protruding weapon, before his nervous system reminded him that it was time to shut down for a while. He promptly keeled over, flat on his back, with a resounding thud. The second hooded figure clumsily dropped the totem, as he staggered around blindly his arm in front of his eyes. "Curses, curses!" he roared, before dropping into an incantation which seemed to be a fusion of Latin, Greek, and Italian. "" he screamed at the end, and opened his eyes, glaring at Etain. He raised a crooked finger at her, adding "

As a side note, if his protection can be noticed [thick skin or hide] etc it is probably worth the noticible drawback. I'm not sure if fur counts for this, however, as that wont automatically equate to "tough".

Quentin was impressed with the ladies argument. She was right, of course. "I agree" he nodded "you are absolutely right, of course. Please accept my apologies - I - don't want to limit research at all. " He sighed "the point you make is right, that we must learn from the past. And I hope we can remember those lessons as we forge on ahead. That is all. Forge on ahead we must, fearlessly and furiously, but I hope not blindly. " He sat back. Thanks to Jessica, he had now encapsulated what he had meant to say much more neatly.

It looks good to me Jack, but it does look an awful lot like a wolverine clone... In order to differentiate from above, you may try rejigging a few non-core powers? e.g. Regeneration? Not sure how that fits and really makes it very wolverine-like. Additional limb - badger tail? [POssibly mixed in with bonuses vs trip or unbalancing] Feat - Ground Fighting [He fights on all fours!] Supersense - Low light vision / Darkvision [as badgers live in holes] On that note, maybe 1 or 2 ranks in burrowing [as an AP to his claws, maybe...] Communicate with Badgers [2 PP due to limitation, quite probably 1 if refs are generous...] Possibly some "Features" such as Able to eat grubs/insects/rubbish without problems [bonus to survival rolls, no ill effects from rotten food], and / or Fur [bonus to cold and heat effects, no sunburn etc.] Limiting Some ranks of Superstrength to Jaws only [badgers have very strong jaws apparently, bonus could apply to grapple of course due to the help this would give in such situations] These are just some ideas, for a few PP, but I think it would go quite a way to leaving the "Wolverine" effect behind.

"Jolly good show!" said Supercape, with as much encouragement as he could muster. Although he would have preferred to know exactly who is friend was, he sounded like the sort of friend one would need in this crisis. Dynamic fellow. He had mentioned this hero called Powerhouse. Supercape had heard the name, but for the life of him couldn't recall much about him. Strong fellow, big muscles kind of chap, if his memory served. He tried scanning a few radiowaves to see if he could tune into any hero gossip or information about Powerhouse, or his associates, but it was all just media garbage. I really should study the heroes of Freedom City a bit harder... he admonished himself.

Mystic B is up then, who unfortunately is blinded and should have made a recovery roll on initiative 3 1d20+3=9 no chance. Blinded he is, but a dispel magic spell he can still cast! Nullify 6 [All magic Effect] Burst. This has no meaningful effect on the sword of heaven, for play purposes it fizzles out (he can always recast it next round). Similarly, has no meaningful effect on Etain, for now. It will however act as counter-agent to his blindness. Rolling for the effects Blindness [+9 Bonus] 1d20+9=11 Dispel [+6 Bonus] 1d20+6=15 Blindness dispelled! You can choose to burn a HP to keep it going (a reroll at 1d10+19 will automatically suceed in resisting) but I will leave that choice to you. Now, Supercape's Initiative will move to 6... but it seems a bit unfair to make him skip this go, so I will say moves to 6 at the beginning of next round!

Gather INformation Roll for Supercape, riding the radio waves... 1d20+1=8 Dude aint cool!

"You won't" reassured Supercape "unless it chooses precisely that time to explode. I can warn you about that, of course. " "Unless you use quantum entanglement to teleport, you should be fine. As far as I know, most faster than light transportation uses variations on the Alcubierre drive but then again, its hard to be certain. If you take a peek at its engines whilst flying here, I can give more reassurance..."

Slick stood up, joining the thunderous applause, with a few tears rolling down his cheeks. Dad would have loved this... he thought. He raised his glass. "Here's to you Dad, wherever you are. " he whispered, and drank. Epic, emotional, and oozing German melancholy, the Opera never failed to hit Slick. It was a little masochistic to attend, he reflected - although it was also cathartic, and gave him a connection he needed. Seventy years old, and you still play the fool he realised. But we all need our masks...

Supercape fought through the electromagnetic interference caused by the anomaly. "Incidentally, to whom do I have the pleasure of addressing? I couldn't exactly pick and choose. The anomaly is making everything rather static here, from a transmission point of view, although reception is fantastic. I can listen to all manner of radio stations whilst observing my impending demise. I can tell you, the BBC World Service isn't as quality as once it was. " "And on a more practical note, the Stellar Buccaneer, Captain Kraken's ship, set down just north of Wharton forest. It appears to have some crude visual cloaking device around it, from what I can determine from the energy signature..."

2nd December, Say I!

"Hmmm. Flapping my arms eh? Well, its probably as effective as anything else I can do here, so I can't really object. Good exercise at least, stops cramp setting in..." "However, whilst I can't be with you, I can sense you. I can't travel through quantum wormholes, but I can transmit and receive through them. That's how I am communicating with you. Any two points in the universe, I can communicate and scan." "And that may be worth something. I can help by scanning, its like a radar, only better. I can pinpoint Kraken's ship, and you, and anything else that isn't shielded or well hidden. "

GM The book holding mystic spun around, facing Etain. He had been holding the book close to his eyes, and managed to shield himself from the explosion of light and sound. "Too late! foolish woman! your kind is at an end! we have summoned the punisher from below to rid the world of your witchcraft muahahaha!" "" he cried, and with his crazed fanatical laugh, a blazing, blue, fiery sword formed in his hand. "
