  1. "Both!" replied the giant, with a smile. With a theatrical gesture and appropriate posture, the oily, warped dance of muscle and flesh started again. And before Miss Americana stood... Miss Americana. The copy was not perfect, but it was pretty damn good. It would have took some scrutiny to notice the difference. Slick gave Miss Americana a wink, and held a seductive pose. To round it off, she flicked off an imaginary fleck of dust from Miss Americana's shoulder. "You have such beautiful hair" she said, flicking Miss Americana's locks. Slick laughed. "As Oscar Wilde said, to love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance" she said, taking Miss Americana's hand and placing it to her bosom, with a cheeky grin.
  2. GM The blue white half dead man in the wheel chair gave a feeble croak "love? love?" he muttered, his wits clearly addled. He fixed Mark with an evil glare. His wits may have been addled, and his body a hairs breadth from expiry, but behind his eyes was a will that was forged of metal a thousand times harder than diamond, and blended with a madness and malevolence that was plain to see. "This is my love!" he whispered, as the Siberian winds whipped around the dead leaves of Kew Gardens. For all the half dead Russians words, however, the fates conspired against him. The initial cold winds that blasted from him threw up those very same dead leaved that leapt and tumbled straight back to him, and ended up covering his chest and the freezonium. The chill in the air instantly lessened to a mild summer's day, to the relief of the remaining guests.
  3. I would judge that a power stunt requiring an HP. I would judge quoting the beatles song in post in such a magnificent manner as worthy of an HP. No net cost! 1d20+15=33 for Rasputin! SIBERIA TRIUMPHS!
  4. "Well, I can't grow that big" replied Slick "around 7 feet is the most I have managed under normal circumstances. Here, let me show you..." With the customary oil streaks oozing out of his pores, only to be reabsorbed and oozing again, his muscles grew, shrunk and shifted, as did bone and cartilage. His skin changed hue, as did his hair and eye colour. The whole effect was of a mad dance of organs, like walnuts cavorting under a tightly stretched balloon. And a giant seven foot man of oriental features stood before Miss A. "....bingo!" he smiled, with a grin that was deliberately missing two teeth.
  5. "5 millilitres lighter" replied Slick, with a smile. He was more relaxed now, thanks to Miss A's charm and professional manner. "And....well, better to be honest" he continued "I just don't like medical examination to be honest. Seventy years on and the memories are still there. The nightmares too, now and again. Not as bad these days, thank goodness. I was four when I was rescued, heaven help me if I had been any older. " He peeked over at the blood sample "looks pretty normal eh? won't look so normal under a microscope, or most other tests. As for DNA analysis..." he shrugged "don't go looking for the normal sex chromosomes, that's all I can suggest. "
  6. "Excellent Idea" replied Slick, gathering up the files and thrusting them at Wesley. "How did you get here? drive? I have some wheels outside. The Slickmobile!" "Do we get a flashing light and siren?" he asked the officer "I always wanted one of those!"
  7. Slick was feeling progressively more melancholy. He was not sure if it was the opera... well, it was German what would one expect? or the memories of his father. Blast it he cursed I will have that champagne! he determined, pouring himself a glass. And yes, it was indeed a fine vintage. He felt like the toad. Why did he always feel like a toad, a dwarf, and outcast, when he could look like practically anything? Why was he always damn hiding what he was?
  8. Felix once again blew his horn and followed it up with a silver bell. "Ladies and Gents, rapscallions and rouges! the evening is drawing to a close, but you will be delighted to hear that Mr. Sleaze McRock will be giving us a good old fashioned rock n roll performance indoors, by the pool, for all who wish to dance the night away. And yes, it will be under the stars, for it has a glass ceiling!" "The drinks are free! the music is loud! the dancing will be... well... the dancing will be dancing. But all are welcome! let your hair down, forget your woes, and paint a smile on your face!"
  9. After contemplation, my conclusions! 1. I am a muppet. I thought I would break myself "easy" into RPing a female by playing a transgender bisexual hermaphrodite. Anyone see the flaw here? 2. I am going to persevere [for now] 3. I am going to do a little reworking a tidying up of concept and powers to make it easier on my psyche. Although it may make the actual powers more complicated. One of the problems with Slick has always been what is "Slicks" innate form. I am going to answer that thanks to the community heres perception - i.e. its going to be an amorphous largely fluid Oil Slick. And thats going to be how "he" heroes, morphing into human forms for socials - possibly to hero in too. I'm going to work out the details but it seems to fit more neatly in my head. It makes Slick a bit more alien. I will have a think about the Maestro thread. As there may be moderate (nothing serious) reworkings to the structure of Slicks powers (Im not talking a new character) that may fit in.
  10. "Noble" replied Slick "and reassuring". He calmed down a bit "very well then, you may proceed, although I would like copies of the results. " he rolled up his right arm sleeve and started pumping his fist, making the veins more visible. "I wouldn't like to think my reticence would be the cause of missing out on a cure for cancer, for instance. " he chuckled "although that is probably unduly wishful thinking". "Oh and if you could find any way to stop me burning up next to a candle, that would be nice. I have a slight tendency to self-ignite. "
  11. "Noble aspirations" replied Slick. If he sweated, he would be sweating now. "Forgive my sensitivity on the subject. I am basically the product of human experimentation. For me, the end never justifies the means. And I get... nervous... about these kind of things. " He looked around, visibly anxious now. He forced himself to take some deep slow breaths. "It has taken me several years to pluck up the courage for today, you know..."
  12. "" required Quentin. "" he joked, honestly. "" "" he added, again, honestly.
  13. We are indeed! TOP! - ?HP - Edge - Unharmed 24 - ? HP - Grim - Unharmed 22 - 3HP - Carrie - Unharmed 21 - Tsar - Unharmed 13 - Cossasks - Unharmed [10 - Bystanders] 9 - 1 HP - Cannonade - Unharmed -1 - Rasputin Sorry havent worked out Edge or Grims HPs yet - and help appreciated. Edge is up!
  14. Ok, Just waiting on Cannonade then For the Evil Russkies Rasputin 1d20-4=-1 Young Tsar 1d20+9=21 Cossacks A-D 1d20+1=13 If you could let me know your HP I would appreciate it - for reference there are still a few high society people around, plus the Steampunk Beatles, Steampunk Stones, and Ms. Wells. They arent going to "fight" but if they do anything it will be on initiative 10. For the complication of bystanders its a bonus HP to all at this point too. And, still need Fort saves vs the Cold from Edge and Cannonade I think (DC 10)
  15. I have been focussing a bit on Slick recently, and for some reason I am not particularly getting into the character. To be honest, I created him/her as a bit of a challenge - I always found it hard or difficult to RP female characters, and after reading a RPG book and a listening to a friend, I took the decision to try and bite off what I was avoiding. I'm not sure it has worked however, which is hardly to my credit but there it is. I am now pondering whether to persevere, kill Slick off, or c) retire him/her to NPC status. Haven't decided on any of them yet. Any thoughts on this? and how what would the process of b)or c) involve?
  16. "Certainly" replied Slick, rolling up his sleeve. "Left or Righty?" he paused "I guess if tried really hard I could grow another limb, but that feels rather... unpleasant. " he screwed up his face. "I would need assurances on its destruction after analysis, and what exactly you would be using the analysis for. Sorry, force of habit of mine, and forgive my paranoia regarding these things. You must understand that the events of the war have left quite a mark on me, a heritage, if you will. "
  17. We are unless anyone wants to monologue Also, I havent heard any objections to the above so I presume its good to go.
  18. Quentin scratched his head. "" He took another gulp of tea. His bones were finally feeling warm again. He really should do something to his costume to help him survive such horrid climes. "
  19. Slick took Knights hand and gave it a firm handshake "I guess we are!" he replied. He took a peek inside the donut box and plucked out a double chocolate special. In general he preferred the fine cuisine his wealth could buy. But heh, who could resist a chocolate donut? besides, he hardly had to worry about his weight. "So, what have we got?" he asked, somewhat rhetorically. He spread the folder and its contents out on the table. "Missing orphans?" Looks a bit scruffy thought Slick, as he eyed up Knight. Cool eyes though.
  20. Slick pulled up outside the Police Station in what he termed, affectionately, his Slickmobile: a revved up and elaborately painted but otherwise unremarkable Ferrari. For cases like these, working directly on a mystery with no leads, there was no call for disguise - as yet. He went in his public heroic persona, a tall, athletic and handsome male. Blonde, blue eyed, tanned and fit, dressed in a tight fitting spandex black and white costume. He leapt out of the car and virtually slid into the police station. "Afternoon, officers" was his opening, accompanied by a wide smile "what seems to be the problem?"
  21. Cant find it in Book of Magic... any clues?
  22. Una's pact is not written in detail, it just says after being defeated she cannot attack the earth "directly". The idea here was that she made a get out clause with the Inquisition a few centuries ago, for help in hunting down witches. One that was never fully completed. If completed, it would summon a demon bound to Una through which should attack the Earth indirectly.
  23. Quentin continued sipping at his tea. Despite being virtually clueless as to the proceedings, he remained interested. " He sat back " He looked around in a slightly paranoid manner, still shaken by the events of the last hour.
  24. "" replied Quentin sipping at his tea. ". " He looked at the book Etain was holding. Most of it was in Latin, but it was still obscure and arcane to him. He was out of his depth, and he knew it. "
  25. "That sounds rather painful" replied Slick, cautiously, looking around the room more anxiously now. No saws or scalpels. That he could see. "I suppose if I really tried, I could autoamputate. And I suppose, with a lot of effort I could regrow the limb. Iv'e never had cause to try, and I hope never to have need too. It would be rather painful I imagine, plus I would be without a limb for a while, perhaps permanently. " "Having cell samples taken is another matter entirely, that's easy enough. They seem to retain their properties, at least for a time, after extraction. "
