"A gentleman of fine taste, clearly" agreed Supercape, producing another business card. "Best give him one of these then. Look, its got some sparkly quantum material on it" he added, showing her the edges of the card proudly. "Reality warper eh? All sounds rather dandy. Quantum anthromorphic shifts in split universes, probably. Although I don't know how one tests these things. All rather theoretical. " "Boyfriend of yours?" he added, hoping not to embarrass her.

Felix Fassbinder had seen and heard the buzz on the latest opera production, and was impressed. The reviews were excellent, and it was one of his favourite opera's, as befitting a 70 year old German. Putting the newspaper down, and taking a sip of freshly brewed coffee, he reclined, ignoring his breakfast. He was basically a man of leisure these days - the company rarely needed his input, meaning there was plenty of time for play. He stood up and walked to the mirror, examining himself. No need to go as Felix. Black oil started trickling down his skin, and his flesh bulged, danced, and finally settled. He had chosen a Germanic, Aryan Male as a body. The name would come later. First, buy some tickets, and get a DJ that fits!

This does sound like the sort of thing Slick will attend - but as who? In this case, as its a German Opera, I think as a blond haired blue eyed Aryan male - a bit similar to his "Super" look, only in a DJ of course. I'll think up some alias. If you have any preference for whom he should attend as for story purposes, that can be arranged! Also, German Opera would be quite up Slick's street (he is a German in his 70s, after all). So, if possible, taking 20 on a Knowledge (Current Events) check for 25 to see the gossip on this performance.

Slick raised her glass back "to the Sun!" she replied, and held her glass so the sun shone through the ruby coloured gin. Damn, she loved holidays. "So what do you do, Elizabeth? And why the cruise?"
-
"Sounds an edgy character" he chuckled. "Ermmm" he continued, looking around for the tumbleweed that was poetically present, but not present in actuality. "Anyway. Yes I would be delighted, sounds like he has excellent taste in costumes, if nothing else!" he carried on, giving a little sparkle of light on his lab coat to emphasise the point. "What is his field of study?"

Slick stood up "as you wish. I understand. " 1944. Germany. Damned if she would have left any alive then. She fought down the sickness in her stomach. She couldn't think clearly about these kind of issues, she knew. Hence, it was best not to think about them. Her father would have let the man live - probably - and he had been just as badly affected by the war as she was. She forced the words out of her mouth "you are probably right. It's just I don't ever want to see this happening again. And this guy has the means and knowledge to make it happen. "

"But of course, madam" replied Supercape. He patted his lab coat, and produced a rather splendid gold trimmed card, the edges lines with a thin rim of quantum matter. "My card" he explained, and gave the article in question to her. He brandished a superficially jazzed up but otherwise perfectly ordinary phone. "The number to the 'capephone, should you need it" he explained.

"Well, I haven't explored everywhere... and I'm not likely too" he chuckled "given the many world theory. Its practically infinite. " "But in essence, I can go anywhere, yes. Anywhere physical anyway. The esoteric stuff that people call magic, or divine - and I call stuff science can't explain yet - that's beyond me. " "But if you give me a description, I should be able to go there - given a bit of time to hone down the parameters. "

That will do nicely madam. The temperature drop is centred around a russian delegation. A few russian troops, a handsome young man (a noble by the looks of it), and a frail man in an iron wheelchair, who looks like a tsar or major nobility, and is deathly white and ill. A few people are trying to converse with the warmly dressed russians, but having a hard time of it. Its VERY cold. Which means... DC 10 Fort Checks for all but Grim...

A pool of oil then!

Thats sounds frightening and ominous - Slick is going to getting beaten to a pulp isn't s(he)? Count me in!

"Well of course you could my dear girl" answered Supercape "woman of your prestigious strength. Very useful. Although I suspect I am meant to be teaching you some science stuff. " He pondered the matter for a while. "Tell you what. Rather than me lecture you on boring quadratic equations, is there any science you would actually like to see? I am at your disposal, seeing as you practically rescued the Lab. Trip to Mars? The Northern Lights? Peek at some alternative dimensions? Some big explosions?"

I may just buy that for Supercape - although at present its a Light and EM burst, which I interpreted as Visual and Radio sense Dazzle.

1d20=3 Cultist is on his backside! That's a significantly poor roll (fail by 10) and the totem is actually fairly heavy, 50lbs (Medium Load for STR up to 12), which means I am going to rule he drops it as he falls, especially as he was hugging it with one arm. Medium Load: Maximum Dodge Bonus of +3, -3 penalty on all actions, Move 2/3 normal speed. For Supercape's Action: Will Pick up the Totem (Move Action), and Irradiate the other Mystic Fort Save: 1d20+3=20 amazingly, makes it.

I'm familiar with UP: Its just I read Affects Objects as Either a +1 Extra for both Objects / Living or +0 "Extra" for Objects only. My synapses crossfired, I can see how your way of presenting it is better.
-
Ah, I read it right now! I appreciate how you could do this, was misinterpreting it.
-
If people are searching, then search away! Alternatives are Gather Information from the Crowd there, or just Notice checks.
-
Just out of interest, can you have Extra (Affects Objects) and Limited (Objects)???

It would probably qualify as a Trip attack Effectively we are going into combat, surprise round. Two are cultists, Two (including the holder of the totem) are minor mystics. Defence +1 for the flat footed leader. A Trip attack is a melee attack. If it succeeds choose Strength or Dexterity and make a roll on that (I will give +2 advantage due to the surprise and the leader carrying the totem). The leader opposes with Strength, Dexterity, or Acrobatics. Alternatively you may wish to do a disarm roll: again its a melee attack (or ranged at -4 to roll) and an opposed your damage vs defenders strength. If you were unarmed, you would have his weapon. For reference, Initiative 1d20+1=5 for cultists 1d20+0=10 for Supercape Also, the concealment wont break - we still have total invisibility!

"Well, I'm not feeling to bad, to be honest, my dear. Nothing a cup of tea won't sort out. " He pushed a button at an automated hot drinks dispenser. "Given your kinetic performance today, I am more than happy to give a spiffy report, commenting on how you helped me with Studies in elemental deformity and tensile resilience: Application of biomechanical stressors although I am probably going to take a look at some more quantum matter stuff. You are free to hang out - as you kids say. I hear the zero gravity simulator is quite good fun - tempted to try that out myself!"

Supercape is still up for this, of course! I will pose the question: Thats at least three PL 11-13 characters - Maestro will need some Zombie Octopus Cyborg henchmen or something... If it would help (I'm not sure it would, but still), I could throw in Slick instead at PL 8.

In which case, the totem is carved in the fashion of some shape changing demon. As with many elder demons, knowing its "true name" would give power of it. Something about it references Una.

Supercape gave a polite cough "Yes, its rather splendid. Fascinating stuff. I have just worked out how to meta-entangle any two points in the multiverse. By entangling them, quanta of data can be transmitted, and I can take a peek practically anywhere I fancy. Its so exciting!" He started gabbling a little "and you know... by opening up the entanglement to actual physical particles, I can actually teleport between the two entangled locations! I can't wait for my next holiday! I'm searching the coma supercluster for a resort right now! I just need a space suit!" He stopped, and brought himself back down to earth. "*Ahem* Yes anyway, its all rather exciting. But I'm a scientist dear, I like to go where no man has gone before" "Errr... where no-one has gone before that is. Sorry."

Knowledge [Arcane] Check for the Totem DC 20 would be good. As for disguise check: If Etains Concealment power is up, we are invisible. If not, then it would need some disguise checks from Etain and SC...

"Claremont eh?" replies Supercape, scratching his chin "I could do with a few lessons myself in how to be a Superhero. Although I guess I'm a bit to old for school. Or backflips, come to that. " "Mind you, jolly good stuff on your part. Bish Bash one-two eh? You must be their top student!" he beamed with encouragement. The computer panel beeped, attracting his attention. "Looks like Fathom's cronies are getting picked up. Taking out the trash, thank goodness. "
