  1. Quentin creaked his neck to one side. Concentrating, he shifted subatomic wave particles in his mind. All energy was interconnected, it was just a matter of, well, nudging the entangled data this way and that. He called it a quantum hole, an invisible and in many ways, non-existent entanglement of space time. It could reach anywhere. But right now, it only needed to reach a few metres behind the door. In his mind, the energy door opened up, and, like a radar, he could sense the outline of the crypt ahead of them, as particles zipped this way and that. It would now be a simple matter to open up the quantum hole and bring Etain and himself through to the other side. Except he wasn't Supercape was he? he was just professor Quill. "". He sighed. Who was this lady? ""
  2. In which case, its another bish bash bosh, plain old attack! 1d20+7=15 I don't know if that hits, ill wait for confirmation before posting IC.
  3. Slick pointed at the Crack "down there. Or at least that's what it smells like. " She gave a powerful stomp at the crack, which widened it a bit but not nearly enough. "We need to keep up the chase, or that creature is going to slip through our grasp. And I am not about to let that happen" she swore furiously.
  4. "" replied Quentin, enjoying conversing in Latin. "" he laughed softly. He lead Etain off down one of the side doors, and down some stairs. The air was getting pleasantly cooler. " At the bottom of the door was a sturdy wooden door with old iron reinforcements. It looked antique but robust nonetheless. And, more pertinently, it was locked.
  5. Dr. Simian was preoccupied with his Idiot Ray and only noticed Supercape when he landed at the other end of the roof. Monkey man make lights... said his brain, unbidden. Chest pain. Thinky go bye bye. He pressed his goggles tightly to his head. "Cease your self-defeating scheme, Dr. Simian! your plan will only cause chaos. Use your mightly intellect to further the good of all hominids! the greatest good for the greatest number. Surely you can see the logic of my argument if indeed you do strive for equality?" Dr. Simian sighed. This man barely needed an idiot beam, he decided. An anti-monologue ray would be far more appropriate... nevertheless, an idiot beam he would get. "Fool! come back for more punishment have you? well... let me be the first to grant your wish!" and with that, he activated the pulsing, although not yet fully tuned, device, which emitted a localised pulse of light. Supercape stood quite still...
  6. Felix checked with the dancers, electricians, animal handlers and firework crew. All was set. He gave Victory a friendly pat on the back "Give 'em hell, son!" he winked. He grabbed a loudspeaker and mounted the hired elephant. With a flick of his hand, some oppressive German opera started booming out of the outdoor speakers, and two dozen dancers and animal handlers proceeded into the garden. Felix followed, atop his elephant, two glamorous glitzy showgirls on either side of him. "Ladies and Gents! For your viewing pleasure and visual delight! Prepare yourself for a feast of light!!!" "But first, a round of drinks, dancers, and animal tamers! Cheers" he roared, swishing down an ostentatious vodka martin as the dancers began to spin like whirling dervishes and the animals started performing their tricks in the gardens.
  7. "Suddenly" is a fair point, but it was in character concept as a low level shapeshifter. Why not at creation? I didnt have the PP!
  8. Supercape 7 PP to play with. Firstly, I should loose the disguise skill: never used it, never will. It crept in when I first designed SC as a slightly more cunning character. He has developed into a buffoon and I doubt he could disguise his way out of a paper bag. He has no style. It just don't fit him. 1 PP for loosing this. 1 PP goes towards the incoming "Lab", communal HP (as discussed in various threads) for brainiacs. 5 PP Boosting up Energy Sense: 2 PP makes it accurate (all radio senses). Detect [energy] is too broad really (I cheesed this in retrospect). Change this to Detect [EM radiation] The other 3 PP are detect radio senses: Detect [Electricity], Radar Sense, and Radio sense. 2 PP Linked immunity: Radiation and Vacuum to his Forcefield. That should be all PP spent. Lastly, a complex one (sorry) which is a much more efficient build. Loose the Teleport power as an AP for flight. Instead, it becomes "Quantum Hole", an AP of his radiation array, a linked power: Alternate Power: Teleport 20 "Anywhere in the universe" (Flaws: Long Range' PFs: Change Velocity, Change Direction, Progression (Mass) 3 [1000lbs]) + ESP 20 "Anywhere in the universe" (Radio senses PFs: Dimensional 2 (any non-mystic), Subtle) + Supermovement 2 (Dimensional 2 [Any non-mystic] PFs: Progression (Mass) 2 [1000lbs]) Quantum Hole is 23 + 25 + 7 = 54 PP. Just under! Fear not, this is no bathroom mentalist. Whilst he can scan the universe, as its tucked into his perception range array, he can't launch attacks at the same time. I always wanted him to be mentally create some kind of quantum teleportation or entanglement thingy from different points of the universe, but his perception range attacks would make this a little hard to justify. Tucking into an array to make them mutually exclusive was the answer. I slap my forehead and say "D'oh". Geez3r'd
  9. Slick 13 PP to play with 1 PP for feat: Jack of All Trades (Should have had from beginning. He has been around a long time) 1 PP for feat: Power Attack 4 PP for Attack raised by 2 to +9 (Which means a trade off: +1 attack / -1 damage to caps) 2 PP for Defence raised by 1 to +8 2 PP for Constitution raised by 2 to 26 (raising toughness and fortitude saves to +8) 3 PP to buy regeneration: Bruised to 1/round without rest. 13 PP total. After discovering that too few points were spent in skills, Cape requested that the Regeneration be dropped. Edits done by Geez3r
  10. "" he smiled generously, pleased his Latin was still up to scratch. If nothing else, he could flex his linguistic muscles with this elegant lady. Her Latin really was excellent. "The key is getting to the Archives, however. I doubt we can just waltz in. Although we could certainly try. I doubt priests are open to bribes - not that I condone such moral laxity of course. " "Do you have any influence? I confess, I hardly know anything about you!"
  11. DC 25 you can ad lib something in between at your leisure. Its not materially important, so go ahead!
  12. "With regards to a communal laboratory for the Superhero community" said Quentin, "I would suggest that such a noble enterprise should be built in Hanover, so it links in with other nearby esteemed academic facilities. Like my own university, purely as an example. " "*Ahem* anyway. If a site could be identified, then I am sure construction could be speedy, given the super - resources available. Perhaps once site identification is complete, it could be advertised, and interested heroes join in and help?" He gazed around shiftily. "Whilst I am sure most of the superhero community are present, you never know, some others may wish to chip in. Like, um, that Supercape fellow. He is quite clever, I hear". He coughed, adjusted his tie, and mopped his brow.
  13. Again, the silver bell of the head butler rang out. This time, however, it was Felix Fassbinder himself who addressed the throng. "Ladies and gentlemen, overseas, in a certain country called England, the 5th of November is known as fireworks night, in celebration of Guy Fawkes, who tried to blow up the houses of parliment. " "Its not England, its not quite the 5th of November, but hell, I do like a healthy disrespect for government! no offence Senator!" he added, winking at a laughing Texan, Senator Nick Cotton. "So, without further ado, because we all like some pretty lights, lets have some go outside for some gin and what I hope will be a magnificent display!"
  14. If she is studying the texts on display, Knowledge lore: Arcane! DC 20: A little - hints of witchcraft etc in Freedom City. Real stuff, not hocus pocus. DC 30: A lot - Genuine witchcraft occured, the vatican got involved, and references to some pacts between demons and priests. Details up to you.
  15. Aha! Me bad. Have edited accordingly! :o
  16. I have a house guest for the next 3-4 days. Posts may be intermittent, but probably not absent!
  17. "Well, we need to get there as fast as possible. We can discussing getting in en route, or even when we get there. " said Ms. Wells in her normal practical manner. "I could hail a cab, that is, if we find any. Its a long walk. Or we could travel by river, there are probably some boats running... that will be more reliable, although a little slower, maybe an hour... an the clock is ticking" she said nervously, looking at the brass plated difference engine whirring in her hands.
  18. "An excellent idea!" replied Supercape, wiggling his finger again "all in the name of science!" He opened the door, and graciously let Jill through in a gentlemanly fashion with a polite "madam". Outside was always a better option in this magnificent world anyway, as long as it wasn't raining. "Right then. Adaptive plasticity and deformity!" announced Supercape, at his audience of one. "Can you make a big hand, or something like that? something to catch this stone I'm going to throw..." he said, hefting a rock he had picked up. "Don't worry too much about my aim. Used to play quite a lot of cricket as a youngster. " He hefted the rock "been a while, of course" he muttered.
  19. I am presuming the cracks are too small to squeeze through with escape artist, but thought I would post just to confirm. Although I'm not sure squeezing through on own would be prudent!
  20. "There's something down here... odd..." said Slick to Dragonfly and Cannonade. "Metallic almost, which is, of course a rather inorganic smell. I can't place it. Could be our man. " He looked at the cracks in the floor. "Not sure how we can follow him if he flow like water. Unless we just take the sledgehammers to the floor. "
  21. "Well, there is obviously the displays they have out for the public" replied Quentin, gesturing around them. "Interesting stuff, of course, and it may be worth a look. I'm hardly the detective, but plenty of old books and artifacts from the history of the city and the Church". There were indeed a good two dozen display cases littered around the Church, under the watchful eye of two security guards, and probably more clergymen. "However, Father Rozello was implying the Church had something more tucked away down below, in the crypt. Perhaps a library or something. Quite how we get to look down there, I don't know." He looked over at where Rozello had scurried away. "You know, he didn't look himself. Something seems wrong here. "
  22. We should probably make some initiative rolls for when the time comes... Supercape 1d20=1 Oh thats just splendid! Dr S 1d20+2=21 PS: Miss A referred to SC as Quentin last post - I don't think she formally knows his I.D. although she probably has a pretty good idea - intentional?
  23. "Ahem, yes of course, dear!" mumbled Supercape "right behind you. Or in front of you, or whatever. That gruesome gorilla shall not peril the city one moment longer" he waved his fist. "Its just I'm rather fond of my thinky, you know. Rather fond indeed!" His magnificent cape sprawled out once again and grew even larger and more magnificent. "Onwards, to oblivion!" shouted Supercape. "Errr... I mean to victory!" he corrected himself. And pressed the goggled once more tightly to his face. As he swept forward to the Plaza, he could see Dr. Simian erecting an even larger contraption on the top of the building, a pulsating aerial twice, no, thrice the size of his prototype at the park.
  24. Father Rozello furrowed his brow. "It is... complicated, madam. The history of the region is... obscure. I had hoped to find out more on my visit to the Church here. The archives in the crypt below us, for instance, hold much useful information..." At that point his attention was distracted by a cough from the corner of the hall. A scurrying figure was briefly seen, disappearing into a side room. "But I distract you with such talk. Please, enjoy the display, and donate what you can to the Church restoration fund..." he wiped his brow and could not meet their gaze. "Very curious" said Supercape as Rozello walked off. "I smell something most peculiar going on. Rather worrisome. " Turning to Etain, he continued "would a scholar of the classics such as yourself have any light to shed on the matter?"
  25. "Errr. Yes. Sounds a great plan!" Nodded Supercape, pressing the goggles very firmly on to his face. "Distract him how exactly? Let him fry me brain again? Give him a banana?" he started twirling one of the wires on the goggles. "You are quite sure these goggles will work aren't you?" "Ahem, not that I doubt the brilliance of your mind, of course!" he added, apologetically. He clutched his chest and started hyperventilating. "I'm getting flashbacks!" he gasped. "I keep seeing bunny rabbits hopping all around me!"
