  1. GM Camden Market: Silhouette The girl was still scared, but perhaps more scared of Carrie. She looked at her long and hard "are you going to get me warm clothes?" she asked, wiping away a tear. "My names Emily. I'm really cold. Thankyou, missy. " She took Carrie's hand and walked with her back to the market stall, where a rather angry saleslady was waiting, giving the urchin a blazing look. "Madam, I am so grateful for you apprehending this young thief. I shall call a copper at once to have this young lady taken to a workhouse. How can I repay you?"
  2. "Goodness!" exclaimed Supercape, rather excited despite himself. "Excuse me if I just maintain this force field round myself" Despite himself, in this forest of delightful scientific equipment and with alien technology being finely dissected in front of him, he was really rather enjoying himself. He peered over Miss A's shoulder looking at what she was doing, and straining his superhuman sensory perceptions to further elucidate the nature of the device.
  3. GM The dumpster, complete with rather unpleasant garbage, settled neatly over the four men, who looked up startled and bewildered at the feat of telekinesis. Only the man nearest Flux, and on the edge of the dumpster had sufficient presence of mind and luck of positioning to be able to dive out of its path. The man, and indeed all four of them, may not have been the sharpest tools in the box, but they had clearly been well trained in military arts. Quickly rising to a firing stance, he aimed and fired his pistol, which shot out a blast of energy hitting Flux squarely on his force field.
  4. Whoopsie daisy!
  5. Quentin gently put up his hand. "I hate to rain on the parade, but I do feel we have to consider the wider social ramifications of weapon and armour development. Tool up the cops, the crooks carry bigger guns, and the civvies get more likely to get hurt. " He continued, "I'm not saying we shouldn't appropriately protect our boys, but just a note of caution. We do have to look at the wider picture that just bigger, badder, tougher, stronger. I know I'm a Brit and all that, but I just throw this in to consider..."
  6. You should be posting any non-prose, such as the rolls and mechanics in the OOC thread... but good work otherwise! As for your telekenetic attack, its a bit novel. First off, as its not perception range, you would have to make a rather tokenistic attack roll on a very large static object... to be honest, you can hardly miss... Next, if you where hurling it at the minions it would be an attack roll for that, although its not exactly that either. Its not exactly a snare or a create object around them - as they can lift it off, so ruling this off the fly I will say its a reflex save vs DC 20 to avoid getting caught under the dumpster... This may not be totally accurate but its good enough for a non-critical combat. 1d20+2=10, 1d20+2=6, 1d20+2=19, 1d20+2=20 In which case, minion 4 manages to roll out of the dumpster as it lands on the three goons. And will blast back 1d20+5=25 Peeow! Fortunately, minions cant crit against you, but thats a DC 20 roll for you against his blaster pistol!
  7. GM Camden Market: Silhouette The urchin, who Carrie realised was actually a girl of about ten or eleven years old, went tumbling to the floor, one hat flying through the air. "Owwww!" she yelled, and looked around with scared rabbit eyes, gripping on to the other hat. "Don't tell no-one, missy! I'm so cold and hungry! I gots no family!" she wailed, starting to silently sob.
  8. GM The Tower of London: Grim and Blake "Tiny is magnificent. Like the ghost of a flea!" wailed Blake, and proceeded to set about, at astounding speed, painting Grim. It wasn't entirely painting in the conventional sense. It was almost as if the paint flung itself to the canvas at the call of his strange mind. "Cold it is indeed. Purity for the head but hard on the heart. From whence it comes I know not. " "But not of this world, and not of this universe, I can tell you!" And with that he set about furiously painting and mumbling some inaudible latin prose. Within minutes, he produced what could only be called a masterpiece in the normal Blake style, honed by 200 years of experience. Beaming with happiness, he presented it to Grim "a present from Blake!" he exclaimed.
  9. Supercape was in heaven, barely listening to Miss A, and almost forgetting the Grue bomb they had. "Goodness me! is that an ultimascope you have there? and calibrated for seven dimensions! extraordinary!" He kept mumbling through the treasure trove of scientific goodness like a child at yuletide, until Miss A yanked him back to reality. "Blast shield, yes, of course, good lady. Wouldn't want that parametrabolicalyser damaged would we?" and, taking careful heed of the dimensions of the room he proceeded to layer up the characteristic crystal-like sheets of quantum material. "I'll take them down after crisis is over. " with a sardonic grin he continued "If I don't make it and you do, just look at it really hard and it will go away soon enough. "
  10. You can: in which case you notice the urchin flying off down through the market, a fur lined cap in each hand...
  11. Supercape took off after Miss A, but soon realised she could easily outpace him "Slow down a little! he called out to the heroine. I can't keep up!" As he drew level with her, he gave her a wink "its the cape, its so super, but it causes a lot of drag!" Scanning the skyline he carried on "your own lab? very impressive! errr... I hope it is suitably resilient...in case of..umm... accidents..." he glanced at the encased bomb.
  12. Airoo: Notice check for you please!
  13. GM Camden Market: Silhouette "Certainly my dear" replied the saleslady, all smiles, but not completely hiding her irritation at not selling the high end stuff. Nevertheless, the wool cardigan was of superb quality, handmade, luxurious and rustic at the same time - as was the scarf. And some beautiful fur lined Russian gloves were equally cosy. Ms. Wells cash easily covered the cost; quite a bargain - and not the kind of stuff churned out of factories on earth prime.
  14. Supercape realised he was holding his breath. And sweating. He forced himself to breathe normally. Not much he could do about the sweat he realised, other than reform his costume. "Right ho! Well, indeed. But to be honest I hope it is nothing more than Grue rubbish!" With another moments concentration he sealed the container with the quantum material. "Just a quick word about quantum material. I don't know if you know much about observer entanglement, false vacuum states, and all that. I just wouldn't look to carefully at it, or examine it to carefully. Technically, it dose not actually exist. Sort of. But don't think about it not existing. Because it might not. In fact, forget what I told you and just pretend it does exist. "
  15. No frills punch from Slick 1d20+7=16 Should hit. Usual DC 22 Toughness save.
  16. Liebnix froze quite still, and became alternately pale and then red, and then pale as John's stare lanced his brain and the threat lanced other parts of his anatomy. He croaked a "hmph" and immediately withdrew his C.V, sitting down as he did. He seemed to sit down rather more slowly and carefully than really necessary.
  17. Liebniz 1d20+7=18 Is intimidated! Hurrah!
  18. "Very well madam! I like your statistics!...err...I mean the ninety nine percent thing statistics thing... that statistic. " Supercape cracked his knuckles and peered very closely at the bomb. Good sensible instructions from the blonde bombshell. Hehe. Bombshell. Hmph. Anyway. With very careful concentration he started nudging key wavestrings this way and that. With a flash of reflected light, the crystal quantum matter formed itself in a scoop shape just too one side of the bomb. "There we go! Stage one complete!" He beamed at Miss A.
  19. For SHADOW agents 1d20+1=5 Not sure how many you want - I would suggest 3-4. Anyway, take it away!
  20. Not quite sure who is up next?
  21. Ill GM the bad guys, although my suggestion for first thread is not to make it too combat heavy - thats up to you however.
  22. GM Hyde Park: Cannonade The timing could not have been worse. Just as Ludd pointed at Cannonade, the crowd went silent, and almost in slow motion, in fine detail, the copper tube slipped from his hands and landed on the pavement with a deafening clunk. It spun and whistled like never before as if announcing to the world "LOOK AT ME, I'M A MACHINE AND PROUD OF IT!". Cannonade could have sworn that the sun dimmed and a spotlight shone on the offending article... Cannoande's verbal backpeddling was an impressive display of cool after such drama. Indeed, without it, he would probably be facing a mob. As it was, the crowd, remained silent looking at him with shock and disbelief. Nedd strode through the crowd, accompanied by an impressively large, seven foot man dressed in workers overalls that identified him as a railway worker. "So, we have a machinist here do we. Well, let me introduce me to my friend Thomas. He used to work with machines, till they spat him out. Now, he's not so keen on them. Thomas the tank, we call him. What do you think of that there machine, Tom?" Tom's grin turned slowly from an upturn to a downturn. He lifted a boot ready to crush the spinning and whistling device...
  23. Airoo: you would therefore know that the coats are underpriced. They probably "fell off the back of a lorry" i.e. stolen. Cannonade: For such a spectacular failure of Sleight of Hand I am awarding you a) a hero point, and a penalty to the diplomacy. It falls to the ground with a dramatic and perfectly timed clunk, as if to perfectly emphasise Nedds point...
  24. No problem! Good set up - I will let you respond to your own post from that position.
  25. "I...I'm not sure I remember" gasped Rod. Slick chimed in "calm down, Rod. I know its spooky out here, but if we are going to rescue your friends, we need to know exactly what happened!" He gulped again. "Its kind of a blur. We were digging here, we knocked away a section of earth, and that hole there... it kind of opened up... there was a blast of wind, and some horrible voice. We freaked out, I mean really freaked. There was some movement... it went black... really black. It was hard to tell. I heard the others screaming, I think something... and I don't know what... dragged them down...." Slick turned to Mad Dog. "I'm not sure I relish going down there, but down there is probably where they are..." he sniffed the air. "Don't smell good. Smells of death... rotting. But I think I can smell life too. At a guess, they are still alive. For now. "
