"With your abilities, I am not so sure... I mean, is there anywhere on earth you can't go." He thought quickly "other than lifeless places like the poles, or deserts?" He scratched his chin. "Anyway, I would have thought flora before fauna. Algae, maybe. Keep it simple. Monocellular, even. That's what I remember of ecosystems, been a while since I studied exobiology. Could perhaps hook you up with someone from the university. " "What's the sealife like? equally barren?"

GM "Sterling!" replied Ms. Wells. "You simply must get blend in a little better!" She started to bring out an elegant purse then took a look at Edge. "Yes, well, I am sure you have the means to purchase some suitable tailoring. There so happens to be a formidable tailor just across the street from here. A Mr. Tweed, nonetheless. I suggest you take a look at getting yourself some suitable attire, whilst I attend to the Dimensionobile, and see what needs to be salvaged. " -

GM Reason, it seems, was not the Luddites strong point. Talk of economic viability and prosperity, the realities of labour and industrialisation all went straight over their heads. For it was much simpler to trust in slogans and sledgehammers. And, particularly in the case of sledgehammers, it was more satisfying. However, it was clear that the thought of Scotland Yard and imprisonment did have an impact. A few worried mutters about the reality of the situation spread through the mob. The miraculous appearance of a bag of silver and a shapechanging fairy made life even stranger for them. "Wotcha reckon of that, then Bill?" "I reckon me and the mrs. will eat well tonight!" "Its magic!" "The faeries have come to smash the ind'stry!" Their leader was trying to appeal for calm, but between the glamour of silver and the threat of the law, the cause was lost. They were already scrabbling for the money and dispersing. He gave one more look to Cannonade before following them. "Workhouse rally tonight, Gutter Lane... come join us!" And with that, he was off! -
Booyah indeed! That does the trick combined with the silver, and the others efforts.

The additional benefit of collapsing a building on Mr. Flames is (hopefully) no oxygen to fuel his fire. Of course collapsing a building is not an exact science, but its a pretty common problem to run out of the sweet 02 in such circumstances. And then, of course, we can pump water into the debris... Damage is always a bonus!

"Very nice" commented Quentin. He arched one eyebrow, "although I'm surprised you don't qualify as a biologist yourself. " He turned to face the less scenic view. "Ah. Not quite so nice. I see what you mean now. Rather desolate and bleak. Still, I suppose it serves as a juxtaposition to the more vibrant lively side to the planet. " He peered more closely. "Looks like something out of Ozymandius...My name is Ozymandias, king of kings: Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" "Rather depressing, really, sorry."
-
Supercape continued to hover outside the building. Even with four heroes, they seemed to be struggling to take down the fire elemental. By his estimation, the building was already gutted and condemned, and it wouldn't be long before some new fuel was found. Whilst he was thinking he once again shifted a few key atoms around the fire elemental, which bathed the creature in a blue-purple light. He wasn't particularly hopeful the radiation he had unleashed would phase the creature. He damn well hoped it wouldn't feed it. Still, that was science for you. Trial and observation. What it - presumably - did need was oxygen. Water had helped. The four of them were better of attacking its weaknesses rather than flailing around in an undirected way. "Er. Chaps!" He called out to his comrades in arms. "How about popping out of the building? I think we could bring the house down to solve the problem. " He winked, although he doubted anyone could see. With his other eye, he started scanning the remaining structure of the building and the roof.

Goodo, that clears things up. In which case... Free Action: Speaking / Yelling Move Action: None (Hovering!) Standard Action: For this round, a straightforward Perception Range Rad Blast. Lets make it a nice shade of blue! However, I do have a broader plan in mind as per IC!

I'll wait for Grims reroll before posting the reply! Loving this so far!

I have lost track of initiative here to be honest: Is supercape up next? could someone enlighten me as to order?

Technology Roll: Its "alien" stuff which raises DC, but the flip side is its not to hard to see it is highly unlikely to be in working condition at the moment! However, it is not broken beyond repair. You guess some time in a workshop would put it back together again. Diplomacy roll: Not enough.

GM "That's the spirit Comrade. Its contraptions like this blasted thing here..." he pointed his finger at the sorry looking contraption that had taken the heroes to this dimension "...that are robbin' us common folk of honest livin'" He paused, his eyes glazing over slightly. Whilst he was clearly the most eloquent of the mob, it was plainly the case that he was still not a particularly open minded individual, and his prose was derived concocted from memorised slogans and speeches rather than his own creativity. "Whilst we broadly support 'is madjesty and the glorious british empire and 'er faithful colonies, 'pon which the sun never sets..." he looked around at the mob who nodded approvingly. "We do 'ereby protest in the most forceful" and here the mob grinned and hefted their sledgehammers "of manners to the widespread and in'dscrimnate use of mechanics and associated contraptions and devices, whereby they notwithstanding are pale im'tations of human artisanry, and thereby and wherewithall are deprivin of honest livin and abject poverty and thuslike and soforth etceterah etceterah..." He smiled at Cannonade. "What say you, comrade?" -
Ok Carrie has a HP, and can roll a DC 10 Fort save to throw of the sickness at some appropriate scene (about an hour). TT: Regarding the Luddites, I tend to use attitudes rather loosely - they are indeed Indifferent, but I am going to interpret this as "seeing you as a potential recruit". They are actually as far from "indifferent" as you can get!
-
Quentin peered at the sign, nodding with approval. "Very eloquent. Perhaps some pictures may be in order for those not versed in those languages, or illiterate even. " "Sorry my dear, ever the pragmatist" he apologised. "Sanctuary is a good choice of word, however. Very fitting". He gazed around. "Very fitting indeed. " "I'm not badly off, Stesha, I'm sure I can help out buying a few sleeping bags and first aid kits if you want. Even a computer if it would help. "
-
Slick nodded, and cracked her knuckles. The time for pretence was over, and streams of oily black tar had started streaking over her body. "Just say the word and I'm right behind you." She looked over and Dragonfly "you ready little lady? enough data to give us a battle plan?"

GM The leader of the Luddites was clearly impressed by Cannonades speech. "Well said sir. You are truly one of the Luddites. Here, take arms and join us. " He pressed into Cannonades hands a sledgehammer and a slightly grubby, unprofessional pamphlet produced by one Mr. Ned Ludd, proclaiming on the cover that all newfangled ind'stry was the enemy of the common man! One of the grubby men over the shoulder of the leader gawped at Grim, whispering "its a faery, lads! come to help us smash the... the...ind'stry..." he pronounced the word with some difficulty. -
That one slipped past me and two refs! will have to edit it out next month. In which case it should be Range x2, and drop the Total Fade. However, to stop confusion, I won't use it again. How many floors up is the action by the way?
-
No, in an hour, otherwise there would be no setback! I emphasise this is entirely up to you: if you would just like Carrie to have nausea with no mechanical problems, then that's fine for story purposes but no HP. Alternatively, if you want some other effect for her Nausea, such as cant eat etc, thats fine too. However, HP is only awarded when and if it actually causes some problem or setback. PS: Same goes for every character by the way, if you would like to have dimension travel induced nausea or other effect as complication, that's fine. [Of course HPs continue to be dished out for being good guy heroic, roleplaying, entertaining, suffering terrible KOs or effects, and all the usual other stuff!]
-
Lets just dissasemble him for now then... maybe a later trick!
-
For being out of costume - no... unless you can justify it somehow? The complication "secret" wont really hold up in a new dimension but feel free to expand on how this somehow is a setback or real problem for her. If you want to give her a sickened condition akin to travel sickness, that certainly is worth a HP, and we can say she can roll a CON recovery DC 10 every hour to feel better (this is off the top of my head). Thats up to you.

Incidental Post: I appreciate I am the only brit in this thread - please feel free to throw in as much stereotypical british victorian speech, mannerisms, and flavour as much as possible. Accuracy is only dimly required. As an aside, I am liberal with HP dishing out, so Edge can have one for being suitably heroic with the urchins... Alltogether now... AWWWWW!

GM "Gawd bless you sir" "Real sandwidjes! with ham! from the colonies! how come they didn't go bad when they got sailed ovar ere then?" The two urchins greedily tucked into the sandmidjes. As they did so, a group of a half dozen men turned the corner. "Oi, you two scruffamuffins! 'ave orf with you!" Ms. Wells, still groaning slightly, moaned "Oh deary me, its Mr. Ludd's gang". The six men carried sledgehammers and looked like uncouth farm workers. "What 'ave we 'ere then" said their leader, snapping his trousers bracers. "Newfangled technology. Putting honest workers out of a job, innit lads? well, we know what to do with you inner'lectual types, don't we lads?" The six men grinned and hefted their sledgehammers. -
Supercape continued hovering outside the building. The water had helped, perhaps, but perhaps something more direct was needed. Like the new flying hero who had joined the fray. Supercape gave the man a quick salute. Abandoning his concentration on the icy crystal funnel (which promptly expanded back to "regular" water and dropped to the ground) he turned his exotic mind to the fire elemental. He didn't exactly know what he was dealing with - but it had mass and it had molecules and that was a starting point. Because with a few key nudges, he could disentangle them. The form as a hole would loose cohesion. In this way, steel could become as fragile as paper. Quite what it would do to the esoteric forces he was encountering he wasn't entirely clear, but a force with less atomic cohesion was one that he hoped the four heroes would be able to defeat more easily.
-
I think Supercape is up next? In which case, lets abandon the sloshing funnel (it unforms) and rejig array into a molecular dissembling drain! Perception attack so auto hit. Its a DC20 Drain Toughness Attack, Total Fade (so hopefully will last a few rounds!) For reference, what is the floor made of? Because I may just use that very attack to drop him a floor!
