Cannonade: Bounding through the streets of London, DC 10 Fortitude check vs cold please! Would have asked for one for Grim too, but Immunity: Cold! As Carrie and Edge are in Cabbies, safe for now. I'm not going to be to precise about this, but at the moment, any length of time exposed to the cold (particularly wind) will need a enviromental cold check! And its going to get colder!!!

Earth Victoriana: The Brit Machine (IC) (GM)
Supercape replied to Supercape's topic in The Realms Beyond
GM Ms. Wells gave Carrie a dazzling smile and a few high denomination notes. "Well, perhaps you could take Camden Market. I understand they have some good clothes shops there. Might have something for your..." she looked Carrie up and down "umm... eccentric ladylike tastes." And as luck would have it, two cabs had indeed pulled up by Ms. Wells, at her beckoning. "You got it, Mister!" replied the cockney and rather rustic looking driver, as he cranked up his cab. "Cor blimey, its a cold one for summer innit! I'll take you to Greenwich Observatory at Black heath. Should be right blistering up there. Good view. You take the weight of your plates. You ain't from round here are you? Texan are you?" and with that, the cab started off with a juddering pace, blowing steam of its bonnet as it did. "I'm afraid the Freezonium was unique to your dimension!" called out Ms. Wells as Edge took off. Flying through the streets of London was a bitter cold experience. But it was a good view, the architecture showed up magnificently through the snow, with islets of steam melting away patches here and there. The huge complex of the tower of London was easy to see for Grim. As she fluttered through the stone walls, all but impossible to see, a strange voice wafted, zephyr like, from an ornate barred window "fey creature, from the burning world, avalon, avalon, away with the iron and steel, come hither and sing of the divine?" "Oh not in your sense of the word" replied Ms. Wells. "Some of our scientists, like myself, are very talented at using ethereal energies and whatnot in most spectacular and innovative ways of course. Always new stuff to be learned. And as for what corner, why don't you take speakers corner at Hyde Park? its just over that-a-way... can't miss it..." And indeed he couldn't as within a few bound he had reached the large and glorious park, green and not white all over. Despite the still dropping temperatures, a small crowd had gathered at speakers corner. A flamboyant character in a naval captains suit was addressing the scruffy looking workers, and Cannonade recognised a few luddites amongst them. "I say to you, fellow workers, that it is the devil's work, this cold. Yes, the devil's! by which I mean, the devil of the indust'ry the machines... for they keep the simple and godly man from nature's work..." -
Slick bounded in after the shockwave unleashed by Dragonfly, and rushed up to the nearest suit. Somehow her spinning and jumping blended into full force punch, as her arm whipped round at an impossible angle like a ball on a chain and met the man's jaw with incredible force. "No need to get up gentlemen!" she declared
-
Ok, Slick is up I think... Bounding in and Straightforward Punch then, no frills! 1d20+7=27 Critical! Ok so thats a DC 27 toughness save!
-
Slick Slick looked at his Greg, and back at the scared Rod. "Sounds like trouble. I don't know what kind, but it sure sounds spooky. And two kids are in trouble." He patted Greg on the back "My names Slick, guess I am one of those Superhero types, but to be honest right now my bloods run cold, my hair is standing up, and I don't feel like I have much of a spine left. But with two kids in trouble I got to help even if I don't feel to heroic. " "Rod, you got to lead us to that site!"
-
GM "My...my...my names Rod Robertson, i'm a history under grad at the university..." he gasped for breath. "Me... and my friends, Jane, and Freddy, we came up here looking for some Native American burial site. We wanted to win the undergrad Archeology prize!" "But then, we just heard this voice... ARISE! ARISE!... you heard it man! and then... I don't know what I saw... shadows... we ran... I don't know what I saw... something moved down there man!" "SOMETHING MOVED!!!!"
-
Supercape was rather chuffed with himself. He shook hands with the excitable Suazku. "Quite an exciting day, my dear chap. Most invigorating. My name's Supercape by the way. On account of my super cape!" Turning to Victory he continued "I do understand the seriousness of misappropriating AEGIS gear. But lets see what the courts have to say, eh? can't turn into judge jury and hangman all once. But I must say, very worrying stuff. Corruption is a nasty business, and we must stand ever vigilant against it!"
-
Ok for reference, Supercapes last action is creating an object in the river: a giant watering can! He cant shift it for toffee of course, but may Mr. Muscles and Mr. Gravity can help out there.
-
Supercape looked at the crowd with an open jaw. They seemed to be hypnotised by the pretty flames, like cave men who had just discovered the nice hot orange light. He hoped they still knew fire hot. Flying back to the blazing building, that miraculously still stood (for how much longer was anybodies guess), he called out to the other heroes. "Any one feeling Strong? we need to get the river onto these flames!" With a moments concentration, a shimmering crystal lattice of quantum matter had formed in the river, a huge tank with a flumed end. In effect, it was a massive watering can, slopping full of the cities water. "Just don't ask me to move it!"
-
Ok I think Supercape is up next with his mighty Initiative of 9? If So, nothing to flashy, a straightforward perception range rad blast DC 25. Ill post IC once confirmed init order is ok!
-
Back from Hols, where I collected a lovely virus!
-
Quentin scratched his chin at the Doktor's announcement. "Hey ho, looks like our German chap up to some pronouncement! should be interesting!" Grabbing a final cheeky nibble, he took a seat, mumbling assorted "excuse me's" and "Pardon's" as he bumped into various scientists and superheroes all egging for a seat.
-
Supercape advanced towards the two goons in the lobby. "Give it up, men, before someone gets hurt. You don't want a murder rap on your hands. The show's over. " The two dazed men, their armour bent and sparking looked at each other. "We were put up to it, this guy, he said it was government business!" Supercape cracked his knuckles. "Well, if you just come quietly now, then you may have a chance with the law. But you cant hind behind orders now. "
-
At this point, partly because I am about to go on holiday, and partly because its 2 KOs, heroes untouched, and the three goons are all staggered and bruised, I think it is realistic for a surrender! Accordingly, feel free to post away for the "social" aspect to wrapping this up!
-
So, snuffed him out at last! Supercape breathed out with relief. He desperately wanted to see what on earth that creature was, and floated nearer the... thing .... but the building was now ablaze and the heat was unbearable, despite his forcefield. Damn. At least there were no people in there. Looking at the building, there didn't seem to be an awful lot to save, but fires could spread. It was out of his league anyway. He sped off to the crowd and hovered above them. "Careful, citizens. Fire hazard over there. We need emergency services to do their job. Should be safe now, but keep your distance, the building could come down at any time!"
-
Just as my internet appears to have got good and proper fixed... I'n off on holiday!!! I may have sporadic internet access whilst i soak up the sun, but it will be sporadic at best. Back in 7 days! I'll restart Earth Victoriana when back, Under a Crimson is coming to end of scene so that's helpful, and In it for the Money is nearly wrapped up (annoying not complete). I have a few other more social slow burn threads going on which I will attend to when back.
-
Still too many people in the building for the deck of cards routine realised Supercape. Having said that, the flame was flickering. It did have some mass, so presumably they could subdue it with brute force. His mind still folding and forming possibilities, he once again unleashed a burst of purple radiation around the flaming man as he contemplated the next move...
-
I'm back! Sorry, got lost with initiative etc. When 'cape gets back I think he will try a regular old radiation blast on Flamehead. I am not sure if the new PL11 'Cape is in play at this point, or the old PL10 one... not that I have the stats for the old Pl10 one I am afraid. In any case, nothing to exciting, a perception range zip zap radiation blast DC 25 If using the upgrade this now has Extra: Secondary Effect "Afterglow", so it will kick in again on supercapes next turn.

GM In the main lobby, whilst all the bystanders screamed and either ran for cover or kept on the floor trembling in terror, the two armoured robbers aimed their gauntlets at Supercape and Victory. The suits had both been damaged, and one could only guess at how many stars the operators were seeing, but almost in unison, two blasts of blue-white force streaked towards the duo. Only Victory was hit, possibly off balance after his earth shattering strike. The beam of energy hit him on the shoulder and glowed briefly but the advanced protective systems of the cyborg were easily able to absorb the energy. Meanwhile The last remaining conscious robber in the Gents, giddy from the ping pong gravity fields he had fought against, squared up to Suzaku. His training kicked in despite the disorientation he had experienced, and with a quick flick of the gauntlet in his armour, he activated a different weapon. A metal cable ejected from the suit, expanding into a fine but super-hard net that twisted in the air and landed on Suzaku, beginning to wrap itself around him as the martial artist spun to disentangle himself...
-
OK, Goons turns. The two in the lobby finally act. One firing at Supercape 1d20+3=13 miss One at Victory 1d20+3=22 Which is a hit. A DC 24 Toughness save for Victory! Wow, they actually hit somebody! And in the lav, one poor goon is left conscious, and able to act. Firing a snare at his martial artist enemy... 1d20+3=22 Another lucky roll, I think a hit DC 19 Reflex save for Suzaku: Fail by more than 5 is Snared, otherwise he is just entangled.
-
"Oh you do me to much credit, sir!" beamed Quentin, chuffed as a slice of cherry pie. "Of course, of course, most interesting. Although to my mind, stability is not a dichotomous variable, as I am sure you will appreciate. And of course, one has to appreciate the entanglement with the observer..." he started babbling for a while before realising who he was talking to. "Yes, well, anyway. I'm sure you are familiar with all of this. Perhaps even read my theories. Got me into a spot of bother back home. " As the good host wafted over to them, Quentin graciously took his hand. "Delighted to meet you Herr Doktor. Wonderful gathering you have here!" Spying LIebniz still trying to get the Doctor's attention, he continued in fluent, although not native, German, with a charming wink and smile. "" In your face, Liebniz! it had been quite a while since he had topped his German class at school, but academic conferences had kept up his proficiency.
-
I regret to say, defence +12.... but he is stunned so HIT! 1d20+8=19 I think thats a KO
-
Sorry, Doc, and thanks! oooh! it seems that (from the top and bottom) he used 150 out of 166PP... so he still has 16 more PP to use... thanks doc!!! /action docks Supercape 1,000 pp for having submitting poorly-coded and incomplete char edits
-
"Ah yes, Professor Don! Lovely to see you again!" exclaimed Quentin, brushing away the crumbs from his jacket. "Not quite Amsterdam is it?" he said, looking around and wondering for the first time if he had dressed up a little too much for the meeting. No matter, show them a bit of class! "Still, should be a splendid morning! room packed full of brilliant and exciting minds!" He gazed over to Liebniz who was gibbering away to the host in German. "And Liebniz"

And onto second surge Reflex rolls first 1d20+1=21, 1d20+1=10 Goon C makes his impossible save. Goon D fails. 1d20+6=22 leader fails too. Onto the opposed grapple checks 1d20+10=14 despite making his reflex save, goon C goes flying 1d20+10=27 Goon D gives it a good go but fails. 1d20+13=21 as does the leader. Clearly the second bounce is the killer! Onto the damage 1d20+7=22 ceiling gets another injury, and cracks some more. Taste the falling plaster! Goon C 1d20+9=11 ouch. Its DC 23 and thats second staggered result so first KO! Goon D 1d20+8=25 incredibly, despite two bruises, takes it like a man! Leader 1d20+7=22 just fails, due to his bruise, and is now bruised twice! And now, after all of that... I need to lie down! Before surging with an AOE grapple smash on three targets again, give the ref a nice soothing pep talk! :o
