Ok Carrie has a HP, and can roll a DC 10 Fort save to throw of the sickness at some appropriate scene (about an hour). TT: Regarding the Luddites, I tend to use attitudes rather loosely - they are indeed Indifferent, but I am going to interpret this as "seeing you as a potential recruit". They are actually as far from "indifferent" as you can get!

Quentin peered at the sign, nodding with approval. "Very eloquent. Perhaps some pictures may be in order for those not versed in those languages, or illiterate even. " "Sorry my dear, ever the pragmatist" he apologised. "Sanctuary is a good choice of word, however. Very fitting". He gazed around. "Very fitting indeed. " "I'm not badly off, Stesha, I'm sure I can help out buying a few sleeping bags and first aid kits if you want. Even a computer if it would help. "
-
Slick nodded, and cracked her knuckles. The time for pretence was over, and streams of oily black tar had started streaking over her body. "Just say the word and I'm right behind you." She looked over and Dragonfly "you ready little lady? enough data to give us a battle plan?"

GM The leader of the Luddites was clearly impressed by Cannonades speech. "Well said sir. You are truly one of the Luddites. Here, take arms and join us. " He pressed into Cannonades hands a sledgehammer and a slightly grubby, unprofessional pamphlet produced by one Mr. Ned Ludd, proclaiming on the cover that all newfangled ind'stry was the enemy of the common man! One of the grubby men over the shoulder of the leader gawped at Grim, whispering "its a faery, lads! come to help us smash the... the...ind'stry..." he pronounced the word with some difficulty. -
That one slipped past me and two refs! will have to edit it out next month. In which case it should be Range x2, and drop the Total Fade. However, to stop confusion, I won't use it again. How many floors up is the action by the way?

No, in an hour, otherwise there would be no setback! I emphasise this is entirely up to you: if you would just like Carrie to have nausea with no mechanical problems, then that's fine for story purposes but no HP. Alternatively, if you want some other effect for her Nausea, such as cant eat etc, thats fine too. However, HP is only awarded when and if it actually causes some problem or setback. PS: Same goes for every character by the way, if you would like to have dimension travel induced nausea or other effect as complication, that's fine. [Of course HPs continue to be dished out for being good guy heroic, roleplaying, entertaining, suffering terrible KOs or effects, and all the usual other stuff!]
-
Lets just dissasemble him for now then... maybe a later trick!
-
For being out of costume - no... unless you can justify it somehow? The complication "secret" wont really hold up in a new dimension but feel free to expand on how this somehow is a setback or real problem for her. If you want to give her a sickened condition akin to travel sickness, that certainly is worth a HP, and we can say she can roll a CON recovery DC 10 every hour to feel better (this is off the top of my head). Thats up to you.

Incidental Post: I appreciate I am the only brit in this thread - please feel free to throw in as much stereotypical british victorian speech, mannerisms, and flavour as much as possible. Accuracy is only dimly required. As an aside, I am liberal with HP dishing out, so Edge can have one for being suitably heroic with the urchins... Alltogether now... AWWWWW!

GM "Gawd bless you sir" "Real sandwidjes! with ham! from the colonies! how come they didn't go bad when they got sailed ovar ere then?" The two urchins greedily tucked into the sandmidjes. As they did so, a group of a half dozen men turned the corner. "Oi, you two scruffamuffins! 'ave orf with you!" Ms. Wells, still groaning slightly, moaned "Oh deary me, its Mr. Ludd's gang". The six men carried sledgehammers and looked like uncouth farm workers. "What 'ave we 'ere then" said their leader, snapping his trousers bracers. "Newfangled technology. Putting honest workers out of a job, innit lads? well, we know what to do with you inner'lectual types, don't we lads?" The six men grinned and hefted their sledgehammers. -
Supercape continued hovering outside the building. The water had helped, perhaps, but perhaps something more direct was needed. Like the new flying hero who had joined the fray. Supercape gave the man a quick salute. Abandoning his concentration on the icy crystal funnel (which promptly expanded back to "regular" water and dropped to the ground) he turned his exotic mind to the fire elemental. He didn't exactly know what he was dealing with - but it had mass and it had molecules and that was a starting point. Because with a few key nudges, he could disentangle them. The form as a hole would loose cohesion. In this way, steel could become as fragile as paper. Quite what it would do to the esoteric forces he was encountering he wasn't entirely clear, but a force with less atomic cohesion was one that he hoped the four heroes would be able to defeat more easily.
-
I think Supercape is up next? In which case, lets abandon the sloshing funnel (it unforms) and rejig array into a molecular dissembling drain! Perception attack so auto hit. Its a DC20 Drain Toughness Attack, Total Fade (so hopefully will last a few rounds!) For reference, what is the floor made of? Because I may just use that very attack to drop him a floor!
-
I think that makes Supercape up a mighty 2 Hero Points. I don't know when he is up next? If so, his actions might depend on if he can sense the fire elemental is insubstantial or not.
-
Right - Cannonade is indeed Impervious to the explosion! Grim can have a better toughness as soon as is approved, Heritage. Sorry about the Iron, but it is Steampunk England... there may be a bit of it around! Feel free to post IC your moans and groans, and chivalry.

I would be happy to join up for this - I could GM although I admit I'm not the worlds best.

"Very practical", answered Quentin politely. "Perhaps some first aid kits too. Although knowing you, you have probably cultivated some plant that probably oozes penicillin somewhere. " He gazed around. "Hedge is a nice touch. Stops the cattle wandering... err... so to speak. " he fiddled with his lapels. "You know, what with it being disorientating and everything. Actually, come to think of it, I hope they have a leaflet or something with 'WELCOME TO PLANTWORLD' on it. "

"Dumpster works fine" said Slick. "More Poetic, too." "Personally, I would prefer the fire escape functional. Confident as I am, fire is not my favourite element. I'm a little... flammable" she explained, secreting a tear of black oil onto her finger as she spoke. "And given the problems we had with that Nazi Scientist back there, an escape route may be wise. "
-
Right oh, just for fun, the explosion is a DC20 Nonlethal Toughness attack! Ms. Well is Bruised and Stunned from it! Grimalkin, due to the spinning Cogs and whatnot, its partially raised for you to DC 25. As Grim is PL 15, and in keeping with Steampunk, Iron will be rife! :D

Earth Victoriana: The Brit Machine (IC) (GM)
Supercape replied to Supercape's topic in The Realms Beyond
GM With a delightful smile, Ms. Wells invited the four magnificent heroes into the car. "No need to sit, you can just... hover" she said to the nervous Grimalkin. She cracked her knuckles and set to work on the bewildering array of knobs, dials, and levers that arrayed themselves on what loosely passed for a dashboard. With an admiring look at Cannonade's biceps, she roped him into winding up a particularly stiff wheel. He could swear that he was priming a spring. When finally, after a few hoots and whistles, the machine started to edge forward, it was clear that if this was spring-powered, then something most peculiar was happening to the laws of physics. The air seemed to lurch this way and that. The whole universe followed suit. Ozone and random smells, particular to each new dimensionaut, wafted into assorted nostrils. Cogs cogged, steam steamed, springs springed, dials dialed, and pumps pumped. And then something grated. "Oh deary me..." was all Ms. Wells could say, before there was a blinding flash of illuminating darkness, a deafening silence, and a taste that made your skin stand on its hairs. And fumes, steam, and grating mechanical sounds wafted through a chilly air. A few cogwheels span on the snow. It was clear Ms. Wells Machine would need a little "work" to run again. The explosion had been magnificent. And now, they appeared to be in London Town, with Big Ben in the distance, the Sun overhead, snow on the ground, in a slightly dingy side street with two open jawed beggar urchins freezing but open jawed at the sight. -
Supercape yelled at the two heroes inside "Hope this helps! Nice spot of H20!" and proceeded to concentrate on the fast moving jet of water. It wasn't easy, as the stream was indeed moving fast, but water molecules were something he had had plenty of practice on. Something rather pleasing about them, he always thought. With his mind's eye, the requisite molecules started to exhibit unusual attractions, and a crystal - like structure, in a funnel shape, appeared over the stream. The structure was made of water, but it wasn't ice - its molecules were held together by the power of Supercape, and it was tougher than steel. The stream of water from the hydrant now diverted straight through the hole. It was a messy, inaccurate affair, and missed the man of fire. However, it continued to pour in, and hopefully the two men inside could use it to some advantage. If nothing else, they could soak themselves if they caught on fire.

I suppose its a case of efficiency: By swapping Swing Line into utility belt, and a Grapple into the gun, you can boost the grapple up a rank 7 attack (and I imagine an extra like contagious / autofire / transparent etc, depending on your descriptors: as it sounds like a chemical gun, I had a blob of glue in mind!) rather than rank 4. An issue you may have at present is if there are civvies around - I appreciate the gas attacks are non-lethal, but still. Or in a team, etc. Also, if you go up against gas mask wearing enemies, there could be trouble. All of above is fine, of course, and in my opinion can make play interesting.
-
Personally, I would think about having a non-AoE attack in the Asps Device: Like a "Glue Gun" (Contagious Snare) perhaps. Also, I would think about having an Obscure power in it (the generic "smoke screen"). You may wish to get "Blind Fight" feat. The SLow Fall/ Swinging stuff seems to fit more into the utility belt array rather than his "Smoke Gun" to me (conceptually, and probably more efficient?) Feat wise I would think about grabbing at least one rank of Evasion with your high reflex save. Maybe drop Quick Change (unless you have a nifty concept how a "normal" can change costume in the blink of an eye! or you just want to be cool). Thats my unsolicited advice anyway!
-
I think its me up next? If so, its create object, namely a funnel, or flume, over the stream of water from the hydrant, redirecting it through the hole into hothead. I don't know what his defence is, but ill post my attack roll. Incidentally, I am not entirely going for accuracy - just getting a load of water into the room would suit fine. I don't know what modifiers you want to apply for that I'll leave it to your discretion. 1d20+4=12 I guess thats probably enough to get water into the room, but not to hit the beast. I'll refrain from IC post till you confirm, however.

Supercape replied to Supercape's topic in The Realms Beyond
GM "Not exactly a Power Source..." she gazed at Carries left hand briefly "Ms. Wendle. More, a focus for manipulating power. In this case, heat. And more particularly, in this case, weather temperature. " She started cranking a lever on the automobile. "Best get a move on if you want to help, my colonial friends. Your aide would be most appreciated. Knighthoods for all, I should expect. " "The colonies do still serve truth, justice, and the English way in this dimension, I hope?" -
Carrie would have no Idea I'm afraid, not enough data at this point to compute, so to speak. However, I'll bear that roll in mind for when enough data comes in (so to speak) for the pieces to fall together.
