By the way, supercape has a detect mass: acute and accurate sense. I'm not being too flashy about it for now, but does mr flamo actually have any mass? Or is he insubstantial?

"That would be splendid" replied Quentin, brushing off thr crumbs of cheddar as he stood up. He didn't need supersenses to detect her stress - she as distracting herself. Works well enough - in the short term at least. He took the last wedge of cheese as his eyes fell on it. "Where too first? I imagine the whole planet is at your disposal?"
-
Quentin came up behind Stesha and put a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry Stesha" he apologised "I'm not really the marrying kind myself. I've had my romances but I'm too much of a doddering old fart to understand marriage." He was being honest. Open. No other way to be in these circumstances. "But your wedding does sound lovely. And I understand how scared you are. Scared, and alone. " He went to the window, or what passed for one. "You know, Stesha. A marriage is about a life together. A lifetime. Thats a longtime for anybody. For some superheroes, thats an extremely long time, or in a few cases, a shorter time, tragically. In any case, it's a lot longer than the day of a wedding. If you are truly married to Derrick, don't worry about the wedding. The wedding happens in your heart, not in a church, not for your family, or your friends, or in your hometown." He looked once again at the scenery "or even in a planet you grew." "You feel for him. That's the part of the wedding that really matters. The when, the how, the what. That's just..." "...well. That's just the cheese on the cracker!" He bit into another wedge of cheddar with a friendly smile on his face, and a few crumbs of cheese on his jacket.

As the firehydrant streamed its watery good upwards, Supercape followed suit, to the gaping hole in the building. All mayhem was breaking loose inside. And it looked like the "innocent" civvies where anything but. It was going to be a devil of a job getting the water into the building as it was. He could do it, but he needed a bit of an edge. A larger hole, maybe, or perhaps dropping his fiery friend down a few floors. Attractive options, but perhaps he could start off by doing shedding a little light on the situation. The goons and the fireman wouldn't see this coming. Hopefully, they wouldn't see much but the after images of blinding light for a while either. With a furrow of his brow and a click of his fingers, an atom in the building shifted slightly, lost some mass, and an explosion of blinding blue light filled the room.

"I am probably making a stupid suggestion" said Quentin, almost sheepishly. He stood up and swept his arm over the horizon. "Is there any reason you aren't having it here? Safe? Beautiful? Appropriate?" "I suppose there is" he continued, "but it would be spectacular here. I don't know all in the ins and outs of weddings, I concede, but this place looks poetic enough for me. Practicalities be damned when it comes to these things. Of course, I don't know about any religious component to the wedding you need or require. Or Derrick's views on the matter. Or transportation to and from here. Or how to serve canapes and spritzers in this environment. " "But at least you would be away from press photographers and Sinister Simian Supervillians!"

"It depends on the oppurtunitym" he replied. "I like teaching, because I like using my brain. I like learning. Its sociable, by and large. Its not without its irritations. Academics can be brutal. Well, like Liebniz, you remember him. Would stab you in the back to get a publication or academic accoladem" "Not literally stab you in the back." He paused. "Probably not literally stab you in the back, anyway." Changing the subject, he turned to lighter matters "So, tell me, how does a super hero wedding work? Are you doing your own flowers? And how are you having that wonderful hair?"
-
"So it's not just a jungle?" replied Quentin "What's the rest? some sort of post apocalyptic desert? No - don't tell me. I'd rather not spoil the illusion to be honest. I much prefer this view." And the view was magnificent. A panoramic picture of perfect beauty. "To be honest, I don't understand why you just don't just decamp here. How do you face city life after this serenity and solitude? how do you go back? I can understand how being a florist appeals to you. But does it compare to this?"

Feel free to post according to reputation threads, Aoiroo.

In which case, for now, Its Move Action: Fly up to the hole Free Action: Shout / Speak! Standard Action: Perception Range AoE Dazzle (Radio and Visual) Burst - I will try and place this as sensibly as possible but the prime target is the Fire Elemental. As perception Range AoE its auto hit, no reflex save (to half the DC anyway) - Reflex DC 18 or dazzled.

Earth Victoriana: The Brit Machine (IC) (GM)
Supercape replied to Supercape's topic in The Realms Beyond
GM Ms. Wells smiled at the assorted hero's. "I am afraid that in the height of British Summer, our beloved isle is in the grip of a most fierce winter. Our coal plants are at full power keeping the populace warm and dry, but the food runs dry and the people complain, and in some cases, die. We don't know what exactly has caused it." "Our dimension is one which is very sensitive to the energies of others. Well, that's a simple way of putting decades of research from our institute. Hypothetically speaking, energies from your dimension, or others, may have seeped into ours. Or even small amounts of matter. In the latter case, what you term ice could be used as a weapon of mass destruction. Even a few molecules, we would term a hypothetical material called Freezonium. " She put the ice in a finely wrought tube of iron and glass, with a dial at the top. "Or, I believe, it could be used to eliminate the problem. " She flashed a smile at the four heroes. "Especially if we have some upstanding heroes to help us with the matter. If you would be so kind as to take these seats..." She gave an interested glance at Silhouette. "And you, dear lady, are particularly interesting from an pararefractory dimensional point of view. Your name?" -
No history roll to work out who the monarch Charles is...

"Extraordinary!" exclaimed Quentin. "The other side of the galaxy! Star empires! It's quite extraordinary!" Looking from one horizon to another, with plant life stuffed into every nook and cranny, he couldn't help but comment. "And, um... you can only travel to Earth... so this... is, what... another version of Earth? Primeval? Same time? It does feel like it has the same gravity." He took another cracker. "And the same cheese."
-
"So where is your fiance, and... who is he? if you don't mind me asking. The lucky chap!" he winked. Stesha was far to young for him, of course, but he was a playful chap at heart. And besides, he always found being a bit fruity actually helped defuse things - is Stesha had any sense, she would realise he had no amorous intent. "Do you still speak? is he missing in action? I would have thought with your floral transport system you could pretty much keep in contact with him as and when you wanted?"
-
"Excessive doubt though? I doubt the level of doubt I have. " He chuckled. Then sighed. "I suppose I can still laugh about it. That's a good sign too. Humour is an adult defence mechanism, as Freud said. " He stopped pacing around, realising he was getting into a bit of a frenzy. "Too much C02, anxiety. Deep breaths. Blow it off." He took a cracker and savoured the cheddar. "Splendid", he murmured. "Straight out of Sedgemoor!" He took back his seat and started to relax. "No point getting worked up about it. Doing something is most likely better than doing nothing, paralysed by neurosis. And how about yourself? how's life treating you?"
-
"Well, that simple enough then", answered Slick. "Barricade off one entrance and go in through the other!" "You like like a big strapping man", she winked at Cannonade. "Could you lift a nice truck onto its side, and place it by the front entrance? They won't get through that. Then we go in through the fire escape!" She gave an encouraging squeeze of Cannonade's bicep and another wink.

Also, quick query as I'm not sure of the "angles" here - Supercape intends to use Create object as a funnel - directing the hydrant water stream into fireman's body. I'm not sure if thats feasible with angles etc
-
"Oh, not so bad, Stesha, not so bad. " He cracked his knuckles. "Not, strictly speaking, so awfully good either, of course. " He got to his feet and started pacing. "I just don't get it, I mean, I have a huge cape, I can explode atoms with a click of my fingers..." And so he did, clicking his fingers, and giving a purple flash of light in the room. "...and yet. And yet... I guess I may not have the psychology of a hero. Plagued by self doubt. Should I do this, should I do that. What's the right thing to do. Etcetera Etcetera. I seem to pontificate rather than act. I'm not a man of action. " He sighed, realising he was rambling. "I suppose doubting is better than absolute certainty. "

Seeing the carnage below, Supercape swept down from the clouds. No time to fiddle with weather systems... not sure I could anyway he conceded. Things looked like they were getting serious, and getting serious fast. Like the giant man made of flame. That looked pretty serious. What this needed was a good bit of H20. Damn, I hope "magic" fire needs oxygen too... he mused as he cast his eye around for a solution. The fire hydrants looked attractive. If he could direct the stream... With a snap of his fingers, he unleashed the power of the atom, directed right at the cap of the hydrant...

OK, for Supercape's action, Im going to try and blow off a Fire Hydrant. If its safe to do so, it will be a burst Attack (Rank 10 Burst Damage Perception Range) and get a couple. Otherwise, Just one. As its perception range, automatic hit - I leave the rolling of damage resistance up to you. (Next round it will be create object over them, a funnel that will direct the stream at the fire elemental)

Earth Victoriana: The Brit Machine (IC) (GM)
Supercape replied to Supercape's topic in The Realms Beyond
GM "I see chivalry has not died!" smiled Ms. Wells, with great delight. "How fortunate that you four folk are willing to help the Empire. According to my speculatorum, you are positively bristling with power!. " She consulted a few spinning dials and flashing bulbs on the automobile. "As is this entire dimension! at least from a isovibratory perimetricular perspective!". "Now, in order to solve the crisis, I need a sample of Freezonium. Um. That would be some Ice from your dimension. " -
"Oh Cheddar would be sterling." replied Quentin. "Taste of the home country!". "As for drink. Whatever you fancy. Alcohol or caffeine, the choice of psychotropic is yours. " He gazed around the unconventional architecture and its unconventional building material. "Florist eh? I would never have guessed!"

Sure thing aoiroo - although you are all becotsumed from ms wells perspective! That is an important poimt howqever for all characters - how much flwsh is being flashed?

"Well, I just assumed you were busy, um..." he swept an arm in a panoramic manner over the magnificent landscape "...tending the weeds, so to speak." "Actually, I really have no idea what you do outside save the world, rescue students from bath tubs, attend lectures, and own your own planet. Although that in itself is sufficient to be impress me. " He winked. "Especially the bath tub bit, of course. " He stretched his legs slightly, not bothering to get up. Relaxation was key to being a Superhero, he had decided - although he drew the line at playing golf here. "What grape?" he asked, pondering his choice of drink.

At this point, Supercape is pondering exactly what he can do to put out them damn fires! For the moment, that means circling the fiery building - looking for two things 1. Anyone trying to leave who is trapped and 2. If there is any part of the building that he could collapse to snuff out the fire). For the purposes of the action (I am not sure if he is actually in combat) I'm going to make a general roll for searching / noticing (not sure which skill you want) 1d20=10 He has +10 Notice skill (total 20), and +4 Search (+14) For reference, initiative is 1d20=19 Nice, but it may be academic at the moment!
