  1. Strong as Slick was, she wasn't relishing this fight. The giant was just too damn strong, and whilst he was standing, to damn dangerous. What was going on? She had no wish to hurt an innocent. Although precisely how innocent he was had yet to be determined. Hmmm. Whilst he was standing. The bigger they come, the harder they fall... Guided by smell as much as vision, she looked around in the apartment. Olive oil, floor cleaner, bucket. That should do. Sloshing it all in, and taking some pepper as an afterthought, she went back to the apartment's gaping hole, armed with a bucket full of extremely slippery lubricant. Heck, she even squeezed a small amount of her own petrochemical excretion in, for good luck. Given time, she would have created more, but time was a luxury she didn't have...
  2. Yes. Right. Slick is up next. Hmmm..... Yes.... Right..... OK. Gonna be looking round the appartment. I figure Mr. Giant isn't going to be Mr. Smart. Looking for oil (cooking), chilli powder (or something like that), or, if nothing like that, seeing if there is any cabling / wire from the wreckage I can strip out. I.e. I want to get this guy on his backside!
  3. Technically, before Supercape just did his post. I slipped up, sorry. It is probably academic at this point however. After Guardian, Sparky would be doing his "throw em together" thing...
  4. GM The stairs continued to waft down music and smells. Above the heavy beat of the music came the same voice again, an Irish accent. He was clearly getting angry, and between his fury and the blast of music speakers, it was difficult to make out exactly what he was spitting out. But it didn't sound too pleasant for the newly relocated thug who had just departed this plane of existence. He finished off with a "Fercryinoutload. Boots, AK, lets sort this out. Leave the rest here. I'm gonna beat the hell out of that goodfernuthin skank head."
  5. Ah, didn't see you had critted!
  6. Slick took up the vial carefully. It looked unfamiliar, as did the triangle. Her skin, laced with olfactory receptors of the most refined type, tingled. She could smell anything, but didn't use her nose. Instead, her whole body was acutely sensitive to odours of any type. This... Well, the antiseptic was there, for certain. And something else, something she couldn't place. Possibly organic, but that was pretty speculative. Well, unless someone was playing a game of deception, and playing it well, Mr. Bigboots outside had taken a swish of this (or injected it), and was now the titan outside. Helpful? maybe, but it didn't help with how to stop Mr B. Boots esq. running rampage across the city. Unless the fact that he wasn't going to die of an infected vein was of much help.
  7. Actually, my bad, we left Guardian out of this round. VC: You are up with Guardian.
  8. That's very cool. Therefore its legitimate!
  9. Supercape "Now! Throw them together! And take cover if you can!" For the sake of theatrics more than anything else, Supercape tried another sizzling sprinkle of radiation on the negative Liebniz, but he may as well have been attacking it with air freshener for all the good it was doing. Never mind, hopefully the collision of the two Liebniz' would work. Mentally, he squeezed all he could into his protective forcefield, anticipating the blast. And crossed his fingers...
  10. GM Enraged, the pulsating man clumsily swung its giant fist at Guardian. It was clumsy, but powerful. A more direct hit may have even hurt Guardian, but power is nothing without control. It's fist glanced off Guardian's nigh - impenetrable form. For all its incandescent power, the man was not blessed with the intellect of the original Liebniz, fortunately. Engrossed at it was with Guardian, it paid scant or no attention the glowing lattice of energy holding his mirror image that Sparksmith had transported to the laboratory...
  11. No worries, and well rolled! Supercape will try for a radiation attack. Automatic Hit (Perception range), DC 25 1d20+14=33 One day, one of my characters will actually bruise something! Also, using Extra Effort to boost his force field +2...
  12. Making a quick look around, not quite a search, more of a scan... Rolling a notice roll in case it is pertinent: 1d20+5=23 (If its a search, you can nip off -2 to that) S(he) has acute and accurate olfactory senses so anything that smells important? (or looks important too - s(he) still has eyes!)
  13. He is a minion: I think normally minions do get save throws (its just if they fail them, they get the worst possible result). However, in this case, given circumstances, I'm not going to roll vs a DC 17! VWORP! Post away IC, with whatever descriptor you fancy. Your choice if you want the shotgun sucked in too.
  14. GM On the stairs to the second level sat a slightly emaciated man, half asleep, leaning against a shotgun. In his other hand he was holding a glass pipe, and on his face he was wearing an inane grin. He bopped his head up and down to the music, not quite in time, humming the song, not quite in tune. Check out that noise. Mmmmm yeah gotta check out that noise. Bossman wants that g'damn noise checked out. I want's'nuther blow on dat pipe. mmmm. His eyes where droopy and his pupils dilated, but he wasn't quite asleep yet. From the room above, an Irish accent shouted out "JD, go check out that noise before I punch yer lights out yer lazy crackhead" Another blast of dub music and a wave of fumes rolled down the stairs.
  15. Once again, Slick leapt, twisted, and spun, this time with her fingers extended and slamming straight into the Giants solar plexus. As powerful as the blow was, it seemed to barely shake the giant. "This isn't going anywhere!" she shouted. At least the giant hadn't managed to seriously hurt or damage anyone, or anything. Including itself. It looked rather dazed and confused. What they really needed to do was find out what on earth was happening. "I can't seem to phase it. I'm going to check that warehouse it came from. See if I can find out what's going on!"
  16. GM The battered door swung open on its hinges, to an empty hallway. The air was dusty and had the pungent odour of a cocktail of recreational drugs. Everything inside the house smelt and looked of neglect. It was dirty without quite reaching the levels of disgusting. Ragged carpets peeled away from old wooden floorboards. Paint was chipped and there were cracks in the walls. From the floor above came the blast of heavy dub music. It was just possible the racket above had not even been noticed.
  17. No subtleness here: Standard Action: WHAM 1d20+7=18 I imagine that's enough for a hit (assuming he has lost his defence bonus) DC 22 Toughness check - with 4 bruises I really hope he fails this time!
  18. The situation was escalating a little to rapidly for Slick, but she was a woman of action at the end of the day. Well, these situations sometimes just arise, and to hell with all the scouting around and spying. She didn't recognise the other two figures on the scene, but they looked capable enough from the way the Giant was staggering. A quick hop and a jump, and she was in the air next to the giant. Her body contorted with graceful power, all flowing muscles of unnatural strength. Her fist connected with the giants head with a resounding smack. And she landed by his feet in a crouched position. If he can keep standing with all of that punishment, we have a real fight on her hands. She thought.
  19. Move: Leaping (to head of freak!) Standard: Whallop, Unarmed Strike 1d20+7=23 Should be a hit (not a critical, shame), DC 22 Toughness attack.
  20. Power Level: 13 (178PP) Trade-Offs: -3 Defense / +3 Toughness, -2 Attack / +2 Damage In Brief: DAMN YOU, SHARKTOPUS! Radatioactive waste has lead to this mutant sea monster with the head of a shark and the body of a octopus: That can "walk" on land! Alternate Identities: None Identity: N/A Birthplace: Freedom City Occupation: Apex Predator Affiliations: None Family: None Age: 1 Apparent Age: For a Sharktopus, who knows? Gender: Self-fertilizing "Other" Ethnicity: Sharktopus Height: Hard to describe Weight: A few tons Eyes: Black Hair: None. Nice dorsal fin, however. Description: Sharktopus has the head and dorsal fin of a shark with the body of an octopus. And its big. History: Sharktopus was formed by mutagenic properties of dumped radioactive waste straight into the Atlantic. It is under a year old and sightings have been rare but bloody. It has been known to plague shipping and beaches. Worse still, it is believed to self-fertilize, albeit slowly, laying its own eggs. Even if Sharktopus was destroyed, who knows if its progeny could rise again? Personality & Motivation: Sharktopus is an apex predator. It feeds on all sorts of fish, and helpless bathers, particularly if they kick their legs around a lot in the beach. It seems to prefer attractive teenagers / youths as its prey, when it prowls the beach. Complications: First the Fin For some reason, Sharktopus likes to swim around with just its dorsal fin showing, giving bathers a lot of time to see it and scream, swimming for the beach. Except for one attractive youth who has his/her headphones on. 21. Using a Cricket Bat is sufficiently surreal, cool, and Twin Peaks, that you can do this for free (no HP expenditure). Should Also add / confirm, between the lock release gun and the bat, the door is open.
  22. Supercape could quite happily be there listening to, or giving a lecture, or meeting up with an academic in his role as professor. Probably something on neuroimaging. Whilst he has +12 in physical sciences, he had +10 in life sciences and behavioural sciences too - neuroimaging or some such stuff would be right up his street. I would like to fine tune his reason for being there - if there are any hints as to what might actually happen in the story, please drop them! then I may be able tailor his appearance to coincide. Looks good!
  23. Its a hit! 1d20+3=13 KO! Post IC than we can shift to OOC, although bear in mind one thug did get a good burst off and guns are loud.
  24. All fine OP: No rolls needed, take it away IC Meanwhile, Anti L: Move Action towards Guardian, Standard Action: Smash Guardian 1d20+7=26 Another lucky roll. I think that's enough to Hit Guardian. DC 32 Toughness save for Guardian
