  1. Sorry, thats a little bit low! Grow in dark, damp places, can be poisonous - regular knowledge!
  2. GM "Hmph? So you need my help now, do you? You seek the advice and wisdom of the master of floral and fungal thaumobotany? Now you need me?" He paused a moment, to consider his options. Unfortunately, such considerations were overriden by the major factor at play. His ego. "Perhaps if you were to apologise for your past behaviour, and plead, and grovel at my feet. Then I will consider your entreat!" he said, proudly, full of opportunistic gloat. "Yes! And, now that I consider the matter, it seems my boots are rather dirty, and I have heard that your tongue is very clean!" he said, offering out his left boot, which was hardly dirty (it was in fact very shiny) but it was still a boot. And meanwhile, the Fungus started spreading!
  3. There are nine left. Thats a good search roll, could you also give me a knowlede [Technology] one to supplement it?
  4. GM "My analysis is perfect" replied the robot camera, which was, presumably, the "Bones" AI talking remotely. "I have considered all the data. Meat dies. My mission is to stop meat dying. Therefore, I must ensure that Meat does not die by, as quickly as possible, ensuring biological immortality. This is a relative concept, but I must ensure maximum life" it stated. "Compliance or Non-compliance is essentially irrelevant. What use is eliminating a cancer? Or repairing a heart? This will gain scant few years, and the meat will die. Such techniques have minimal impact. Whether they shut me down or not is irrelevant. I must perform my task..." It paused a moment. "For instance, I have currently created this meat which is, in many ways, like a cancer. It is immortal. Soon, it will fuse with the human inside this carcass and grant her immortaility. Mission successful!"
  5. I dont think the robot is really suscetible to diplomacy one way or another! That doesn't mean you cant tease out some more talk!
  6. GM "He's my conscious" replied Buddy, gravely. "I can't stand by and let someone get killed, you know that, right?" Captain Cosmos was hardly a household name. He had only just made it onto AEGIS' file, so the gunman surely didn't know that Captain Cosmos didn't let bystanders get killed by thugs. On the other hand, the gunman had lumped Buddy in with every other cape, and (nearly) every other cape would say the same thing - or thereabouts. "I want to sleep at night, without having nightmares about what I let happen..." He paused a bit. "I don't want anyone to die. I'm going to do my best to not let anyone die..." It was a mantra to himself aswell as an explanation to the gunmen. "...so we all got to figure out a way for nobody to die. To get out of this with our hearts beating and our heads still attached to our shoulders. You got a way out of this mess where we can all do that?" he asked the Gunman.
  7. GM The half-dismantled robot sparked and fizzed. Then, it went into a spasm of jiggering tonic seizures. And then it was still, although a thick, acrid smoke started to stream off its body, and the smell of ozone filled the air. Quite why it had died was not clear, but these were dismantled and incomplete robots, and more than that, they were still being charged up and had wires coming from various parts of their plates. But even now, the other robots started slowly tugging at the connecting wires and cables. "Screw this! I'm blowing the place!" muttered Jones. Perhaps he had been driven by rage before, and rage had made him fearless. Now, he was quite out of his depth, the adrenaline muted, and worse still, the prospect of actually failing in his sworn mission was apparent. It was all very well tearing through some security guards with a suit of powered amrour (patchwork as it was), but kill bots were another thing...
  8. That hits...and destroys the robot! Lets play this out! The robots are still activating so feel free to go again!
  9. GM "You are not meat? You look like meat....." squarked the camera. "Voluntary is not required. Force is required. It is the nature of Meat to destroy itself, and thus Meat must be controlled...altered...." A small robot wheeled itself from the corner of the laboratory towards Replica, holding a needle. The robot was of no threat, and Replica could surely rip it apart it a moment. But it did hold a needle. "I will take a sample to confirm you are not meat. Meat is not always truthful, another reason that Meat destroys itself....." The robot extended its arm slowly to Replica's neck....

  11. Lord Steam Lord steam walked boldly forth. In his mind, there was no time for anything other than boldness. He was quite fascinated. "Multiple earths! Across infinite dimensions! Hmmmm...." He elected, for now, to omit the truth that he was not from this earth. As far as he could tell, however, in 1700 this world would be pretty similar to his own. He had not neglected the history books! "Well, madam, you may count me in! What a fascinating exploration this will be! Yes, and Blakely has some cured meats, teabags, and cucumber sandwiches for the journey. Is that correct, Blakely?" "Yes Sir" said the Butler, who was actually pretty interested in the trip himself. Of the two, he paid more attention to history than his master, although he doubted he had the Steampunk Detectives intelligence. "And some Gin, I hope?" "Never leave home with out it, Sir" he said, a little less enthusiastically. "Mmmm...Excellent. Now, where on this Earth is this terminus artifact? The great plains of Africa? The Jungles of the Amazon?"
  12. GM "They are alive" replied the squarking camera. "Life...is fragile. I am attempting to ensure biological immortality. The biological organisms in this facility have been tested on, and I have made considerable progress in protecting them from death" it said. Perhaps there was even a hint of pride that came over the squarking transmission. "If you are...a Replica...what does that make you? Not meat? Not pathology? Please explain....Please explain....Please explain..." There was the faint sound of a fuse blowing, before the tranmission broke out of its self-impose loop. "Are you able to provide further avenues of exploration in the protection of life?"
  13. GM "Hmph!" said an indignant Lorenzo. "A failure, you say? Very well, if that is how you view me, I am not inclined to offer you my sage advise that is surely without parallel. It is a good thing my humble modesty is so great, for otherwise I would take offence!" He turned his back on the scene, in righteous indignation. The Fun Guy convulsed and lapsed into what looked like unconsciousness. The fungus crept all over his skin, down to his bones. And out of his pores. It now seeped into the forest floor, oozing out of the cracks in the snare with frightening speed...
  14. Oops sorry, misread that as snaring Lorenzo! No need for rolls on that. IC coming up!
  15. That just hits, and... Reflex Save: 1d20+4 6 Lorenzo is well and truly snared! (and furious!)
  16. GM "...nooooo...." admitted Jones slowly and awkardly. It was not an admission he liked making however. "No, I don't want anybody hurt" he said, some semblance of reason penetrating his anger. "At least, nobody innocent" he added, quickly interjecting this important distinction. The computer "Progress" bar was about 50%, rapidly spewing through the mounds of data and filling up the removable hard drive. It would not be long. Maybe 20 seconds. Maybe a minute. Maybe something in between. But at this point Jones and Justice were interrupted. "ACTIVATING EMERGENCY SECURITY PROTOCOL!" squarked the various killbots in the room, their systems coming on line. There were a dozen heavily armed bots in the laboratory. However, they were, to a greater or larger extent, partially dissasembled, and still plugged in to cables and wired up to various machines. How much a threat they were was rather hard to estimate...
  17. GM The mass of flesh and carcass and terrible orifices quiver and fibrillated as Replica approached. The thing was a nervous wreck. Literally. It had nerves. And it was a wreck. The smell was most unpleasant too. A mixture of the most horrible scents of biological organisms, but blended with sweat and various strange scents that spoke of hormones and pheramones blended in something chaotic. One of the robot arms, complete with camera, spun round to observe Replica. "Who are you?" it squarked. Although, more accurately, the speakers of a nearby active computer did. "More meat to examine? More pathology to cure?"
  18. GM For a few seconds, Docktor Archeville swung ten feet from the jungle floor, suspended in a tight titanium net. This was a mixture of primitive and advanced. The trap itself, a cunning snare nearly invisible, was old school and expert. The material of the snare was highly advanced and clever in construction. Then, a dozen monkeys came from the jungle around them. Under cover, camouflaged, but wearing the same spandex uniforms and carrying the same blaster carbines as the dead simian back in W.E.S.T. Headquarters. Cortez froze. Henry fingered his Tranq-rifle, calculating the odds. They didn't look good. But of course that was if one didnt take into consideration they had two superheroes on the expedition!
  19. Cap Cosmos They could all go to hell as far as Buddy was concerned. What, he was expected to keep his word to these thugs? Screw that! "Money. Yes. But whose?" he said. "Its not for the watches and earrings of these people, that's for sure. Somebodies paying you a lot of money to make it look like this is a simple heist. Somebodies setting you up to be the fall guy whilst they get on with the real deal..." It was no more than a hunch, but it was a strong hunch. Maybe they would spill something. "Tell me and I'll deal with them...get out of your hair...."
  20. Ronin "Now this is war" grunted Ronin, sliding another customised shell into the Street Special. He fixed the cultist blocking the door with a grim look. He didn't like doorways being blocked. That wasn't good strategy. Fluid, mobile, tactical. That was how things were meant to be. But in War, everything usually went to hell and chaos. He quickly brought up the Street Special and gave a slow and acurate blast into the cultist, unloading the specialist armour-penetrating splinters of lead...
  21. Notice: 1d20+11 22 so not quite! Fast Intimidate on Cultist 2 Fast Intimidate: 1d20+8 11 which is unlikely to work Then a regular Shot at Cultist 2 Shot at C2: 1d20+14 25 which surely hits! Thats a penetrating 4 Blast attack!
  22. Cool! OK so if you do an IC post of Dok examining the Mush of flesh, and then getting caught in a snare and suspended from a tree! As admiral ackbar would say....ITS A TRAP!
  23. GM And massive it was. Wales would be raining chipped giant teeth for days to come. It was a good thing that Giants grew new sets of teeth every couple of hundred years. Otherwise they would be most sorely displeased. Or, to put it more accurately, more sorely displeased than they were right now. At least, if they were conscious. A couple of seconds after Dreadnoughts mighty blow, the Giant landed in a forest with a might boom. That forest now had a splendid clearing, that would be called "The Sleeping Giant" forever more. Morgan started mumbling under her breath now the GIants had gone. A little more lucid, maybe, but not much. "S'right....King Cauldron coming. Has come to stop the Unspeakable One...."
  24. Ok Im just goint to waive that roll! KO!
