  1. Thunderbird Micah shook his head, his flight wobbly for several crucial moments. He was able to clear his head as the battle raged below; a frown creased his face when he saw the pirate ship still flying, if doing so with less surety than before. He'd hoped that his initial attack would do more. It certainly took its toll on him. 'Don't have time to be tired.' he thought grimly to himself. Instead, the weather-riding teenager dove down toward the ship he'd passed moments ago in a burst of sound and fury. His right arm reached out, and as he drew near, the clouds above rumbled. A moment later, a thick bolt of green lightning sparked from cloud to hand and then toward the pirate ship....before arcing away from the ship and striking empty pavement below. Thunderbird sighed in exasperation and shook his head again. "Get in the game, Roebuck..." he muttered angrily to himself.
  2. Free Action: Use 1 HP to shake Fatigue. Free Action: Switch Array to Green Lightning (regular ranged damage) Move Action: Get to within 120 feet (aka 1st range increment for rank 12 power) of the ship. Standard Action: Ranged Attack vs Ship: 11. And I have no HP left. If that somehow does hit, DC 27 Toughness Save.
  3. Argh I'm sorry, I have lost track of a lot the last few days. Toughness Save: 14. I would like to not get knocked out of the fight this soon, reroll. 17. That at least makes it less than 10 difference.
  4. The Power I used has the Tiring Flaw....can't remember offhand how badly-off that leaves me. I think I can shake it with an HP?
  5. Raven is going to go after Bodyguard 2. I don't think I even need to mess with Feinting him, but hey it's a move action. Move Action: Fast Acrobatic Feint: 29. Standard Action: Melee Attack, full Power Attack: 13. Let me know if that doesn't hit. I may or may not reroll. If it does hit, then that's a DC 29 Toughness and DC 20 Fort.

  7. Raven III Raven was not a man given to fear, to abject terror. Terror had been beaten out of him at age 4; fear had been pruned and thinned by age 7. But he could certainly feel concern and surprise. And the statement that this man represented the house of Usher, a group he had thought defeated permanently and utterly? That was enough to rattle even him. Rattle him enough to see the bodyguard slip his grasp and rise up to challenge him directly once more. 'I need to hit the training room harder. Charlie does too. Maybe we'll both wear Vests.' he thought sarcastically to himself as he slipped into a more active stance once again. As the one thug took aim, he merely had to lean his head slightly to one side, which he did with utter calm. "Your house may find that it's been built upon treacherous ground, petty thief." Suddenly, his cape whirled forward. The bodyguard in front of him might confuse it for an attack in and of itself, at first. It is not; the cape is merely a distraction. The real attack is a pair of blows that land like hammers. The first strike is to the man's right shoulder, just where the collarbone meets the shoulder proper; a joint, a weak spot. The other blow is a more traditional one, delivered with gusto to the man's solar plexus, driving the air from his longs, and perhaps his lunch from his stomach. Both of Raven's gauntlets continue to course with electricity, seeking to cause locked muscles and painful spasms in his target. To leave him essentially useless on a battlefield. And make no mistake, this was a battlefield indeed.
  8. Right, let's see. Sense Motive: 25. Hm. Grapple Check: 24. I'm going to HP reroll the SM, because I care more about Raven not getting scared by a skinny punk than I do him not keeping hold on a squirrely bad guy. SM Reroll: 16, which becomes 26, which is still not enough. He's going to take his frustration out on Bodyguard 2. Move Action: Fast Acrobatic Feint: 25. I think he makes a Sense Motive of that DC or he's flat-footed? Standard Action: Melee Attack: 22. DC 24 Toughness save if that hits, along with DC 20 Fort vs Daze-only Stun.
  9. "Why my shirt....oh fer...Pan!" Micah turned away for a moment, a look of frustration on his face as he looked in the direction of the Headmistress's on-campus quarters. He turned back, his whole face and even his neck flush with a deep blush. "Right. Um. Yeah. Sorry. The real one burned off earlier. I'm fine! I'll...can we talk about it tomorrow? All three of us is fine." He gave Ashley a look that seemed equal parts raw terror and raw confidence. His wings flapped once and he began to float away, the fog still shrouding the building. His form started to get lost in it, though Judy likely felt the energy bleeding off of him as clearly as daylight. "Have a good night, ladies." And then even the green glow was gone, as Micah slipped away and back to his own room by way of the same rooftop door the three teens had used earlier. He was back within his room in less than 3 minutes.
  10. Raven III Alek did what he could to react with a measure of shock and fear on his face, while still keeping his body from making sudden movements. It was harder than one might think to do exactly that. After the noise of the gunshot faded, he spoke up with only a slight tremor in his voice. "I'm more than happy to not give you all any trouble at all. Could one of us get something to put on that gentleman's leg to help with the bleeding? I'm more than happy to do it. It'll keep my hands occupied, after all." He sat still and kept his hands flat on the table as he spoke. He didn't have a lot of medical training, but he could manage enough to keep a man from bleeding out. "Apply pressure" was not exactly complicated medical advice, after all.
  11. Micah sighed as the others started to prepare themselves. "Eira, I'm going to trust that you'll keep us from going viral. Guard your eyes and ears, I'll delay the ship." He pulled out a pair of sturdy goggles and slipped them over his eyes, then pulled off his jacket and shirt in one smooth motion, revealing his sleeveless "extracurricular uniform" from Claremont. The young weather controller crouched down, and wings of emerald light unfurled from his back. The air rippled, and suddenly Micah was gone. The trail of emerald motes behind him traced far into the sky in eye-blinks, a faint roar-crack indicating he'd broken the sound barrier already. He passed by the pirate ship and slowed a few hundred feet past. Crackles of lightning surrounded him for several moments until he stopped, some quarter-mile above the descending magical pirate ship. For a moment, everything in the air seemed to still... Until there was an almighty crack of thunder, and a storm of energy rushed out. Lightning bolts so thick it made the space around Micah seem half-solid, burning so bright that the crew of the ship would need to cover or avert their eyes to have any hope of retaining their vision, accompanied by a rolling barrage of thunder-booms that were sure to assault their ears and rattle their bones. After an eternity of a few seconds, the vicious storm died away, and the green mote of light that was Thunderbird hung unsteadily in the air above the ship.
  12. Thunderbird is going to burn an HP to cover the fact that he's taking an extra Move Action... Move Action: Fly at top speed to a point a little ways past the pirate ship. He's using his Power Reserve fully to Flight, so that gives him Flight 7 aka 1000mph. Free Action: Switch his High Flier Array to this power: AP: Damage 10 (Extras: Area [General, Burst], Linked [Dazzle], Flaws: Action [Full Action], Tiring, Power Feats: Progression 10 [Area, Max 20 mile radius) [15PP] + Dazzle 10 (auditory and visual, Extras: Area [General, Burst], Linked [Damage], Flaws: Action [Full Action], Range [Touch], Tiring) [10PP] (Electricity/Lightning, Sonic) (Borealis Burst) Full Round Action: Activate Borealis Burst, but keep the Radius such that it encompasses the pirate ship and any guys hanging off ropes, but does not reach the ground or hit nearby skyscrapers. I believe that's a DC 20 Reflex save for half damage on the DC 25 Toughness Save, as well as to determine if they are Blinded and Deafened. I'll worry about the Tiring later.
  13. As the street racer mercenaries introduced themselves, Judex simply snorted in vague amusement. "Wolves in tin clothing." he muttered to himself. But then one of them started charging directly at Dr. Thorne's ride. Judex was a brave man, but not a stupid one. Thorne would have to swerve; the car simply couldn't take that sort of collision. Truth be told, neither could he. Or rather, he couldn't handle colliding directly with all of those armor plates. Now, getting over those plates, maybe getting to the windshield? That he thought he could handle. He crouched further, and his legs tensed up. When next he spoke, his Southern-accented voice thundered loud enough to be heard within Thorne's car. "The Lord made a path for the rain...." Thorne's car hit the apex of its turn, and Judex bellowed his voice even as he extended his legs in a mighty leap. "AND A PATH FOR THE THUNDERBOLT!" His flight path took him directly at Thru's windshield....
  14. Thunderbird Micah had found the movie entertaining enough. "Most versions make the Crocodile maybe two or three times the size of a person. Hence Hook having just the hook-hand, not being a hook. That last fight was pretty gre-" He stopped as the others noticed the ship in the sky; it took him only seconds to see it as well. He sighed. "Right, of course. Irony. Y'all need me to give us cover to change?"
  15. Thunderbird: 28. Which I think thanks to the nat20 is technically a...33?
  16. Micah tensed up slightly when Judy grabbed his hand, but before she had a chance to change her mind about grabbing his, he squeezed back. Shock, then, rather than fear. "Miss Smith, I would not wish to presume to dictate the nature of our...friendship. Didn't want to jump to assumptions, I ain't that kind of Sooner." He moved closer as Judy pulled him in, his eyes half-closed as he spoke softly...and then Ashley demanded to know what was going on. Micah's eyes shot open, and the barely-there wings at his back flared brighter and clearer as a jolt of fear raced down his spine. Judy felt the air temperature outside the window drop several degrees as Micah floated there. His mouth opened to reply, and just at that moment, he suddenly had no shirt. "I'm just talkin', Ashley! Nothing inappropriate!" Said the boy with no shirt about 6 inches from Judy.
  17. Raven III For just a moment, the man's words once again stopped Raven in his place. And once again, the vigilante simply grit his teeth and moved through. "You don't know fear. You don't know pain. I do. Let me show you." He moved suddenly, with a force and ferocity that seemed inhuman. He angled for the smaller man who spoke with the strange power, but one of the bodyguards put himself in the way at the last moment. Raven just smirked. "You'll do." In the blink of an eye, the bodyguard was suddenly held as surely as if he was bound in iron chains. Raven held a single hand against the back of the man's throat; the guard's face was pressed into the ground almost effortlessly. The vigilante crouched on him like a predator, a single foot somehow placed just so such that the man's hands were restrained along with his body. His feet were free to move, but Raven was well clear of any kicks. The dark avenger just smiled, his teeth gleaming, the gloom and darkness shading it such that one might wonder if he had fangs. "Still think this is your city?"
  18. Don't have the actual build thread ready yet but here's a rough idea of what I'm thinking for Gawain.
  19. Will Save: 12. NOPE HP Reroll: 25. Move Action: Move to Spooky Guy. Acrobatics to avoid attacks of opportunity: 29. Standard Action: Melee Attack to Grapple: 33. Grapple Check: 31, thanks to that Crit.
  20. Micah ran a hand through his own hair; he seemed to be exhibiting a lot of nervous gestures tonight. "I'm...I'm glad. My mom'd be madder than a wet hen if she knew I'd played hooky to go make a micro-storm, but...I was afraid I'd hurt people here if I didn't go let some of that anger out." He floated closer, and Judy likely noticed that their building had a modest bank of misty fog around it. The weather and the hour of the night meant it likely wasn't a major concern for anyone, but it gave them a degree of privacy. At her confession, his face was momentarily confused, then softened. "Judy, I...I forgive you, Judy. It's...it ain't nothin'. Water under the bridge. I was....I was not as good of a friend as I could have been, Judy." He moved closer still, now floating just a foot or so away, and level with her so they were eye-to-eye. As he continued to speak, Judy heard him slipping more heavily into an Oklahoma accent that was, while not quite as thick as hers, pretty clearly cut from the same cloth. "I was jealous, Judy. Of Leroy. I know it probably hurts you to speak of him, but I was. Am. He was, is, everything I'm not. I know he had his struggles, but...walkin' away from you? He's only got one oar in the water, throwin' away a lady like you, Judy. I'd very much like to be friends." Micah drifted just a couple inches closer; he didn't seem to realize he'd done so. "I won't lie and tell you I don't have a bit of fancy for you. But my mother'd have a dying duck fit if she heard of me not bein' a friend to a lady just 'cause she doesn't fancy me back. She'd tan my hide and make me write you an apology letter, so let's skip that. Honesty's the best policy and all that. I'm here as a friend, Judy." He smiled a bit. "I'm glad Pan's on your team, too. He goes faster than green grass through a goose sometimes, but his heart's in the right place. He...he's the one I've talked about this with, more than anyone. I know he's takin' care of you, and you're takin' care of him, on your team. He's the one who helped me get out so I could let out the storm, and he's the one what talked my box-of-rocks brain around to just talkin' to you tonight." He sighed, then smiled. "Ah'll be your friend, Miss Judy Smith. If you'll be mine?"
  21. Daggum it sorry. Acro: 33. Init: 6.
  22. Micah hung there for a moment as his face showed...not quite surprise, but still a bit of shock the response was so quick. He floated closer, and he idly scratched his right shoulder. "Um, hi. Sorry if I woke you up. I..." He seemed at a lost for words for a moment, then sighed. "Earlier, I had a nightmare about her. Alice, That she came for my family. Killed them while I was helpless to stop her. Woke up straining my inhibitors." As he spoke, Judy could feel the hum of electromagnetic energy coming off of him. It was like the ripples in a pond after a stone had dropped in; mostly calm, but with the suggestion of earlier agitation. "Pan and Eira took me up to a mountain, where I could cut loose. Helped me feel better. I just...I wanted to see if you were doing okay?" He reached up and wiped a hand over his face. "I know there's been some crazy stuff going on for...for everyone lately. And you're a...you're a friend, Judy. Even if we don't hang out a ton."
  23. Micah flew quietly, his face uncertain, for several long moments. Then, he nodded once. "Okay." He nodded again, several times, his arms uncrossing as he did. Faint wings of light grew behind him, unnoticed by the young weather controller. "I'll just say hi, and see if she's doing okay. It seems like she's had a rough year." He looked back at Pan and Eira, his face still a mix of emotions. "I'll just have to hope Ashley's not too quick on the trigger." As they drew near to the campus, the air thickened just a bit. "I'll pull in some mist and clouds to make things a bit less obvious. Tonight's weather was a bit weird before my little display, so it shouldn't be a big issue..." He didn't seem to have heard Eira's plan to divert herself and Pan to the on-campus residence of the Headmistress. Instead he focused on giving them light cloud cover as they descended, and a gentle, rolling mist around the dorm building as he slowed down and hung in the air next to Judy and Ashley's room, his ethereal green wings flapping (albeit too slowly to really keep him airborne, at least if they were real wings) as he reached out and hesitantly knocked on the window....
  24. I wanna jump onto his car. What do you need me to do, Giz?
