  1. Is the door to the room closed? If so, he can't get in; his teleport doesn't allow him go to through solid objects. I figure we could fuzz getting into the hotel, the doors probably open all the time, but he can't get into a specifc closed room. I'll try to get something up when it slows down a bit here at work.
  2. As far as the hotel itself, between Datalink and Eidetic Memory and such I'm sure he could have grabbed the GPS/Google Map location of it. Once he's at the hotel itself he'd just ring up Velocity on the comm.
  3. Gabriel was, unusually for him, in a rather poor mood. Bad enough several people in Southside had disappeared. But two had been students in the theater program that he had personally taught; Robert and Theodore had both been struggling to find work before they disappeared. So when Robert's mother found a box with strangely-stamped gold coins on her porch, but not her missing son, the hero in white was suspicious. Theodore's parents had reported a collection of small stamped silver ingots. The other half-dozen men and women who had disappeared had left behind similar clues with their families, typically a week or two after they vanished. In almost every case, someone in the family had "just happened" to hear, and in a couple of cases even see, a fanciful horse-drawn carriage moving away from their home sometime late at night or early in the morning. As far as the Irishman was concerned, there was only one rational explanation. 'Bloody Fae. How many times will I need to kick their arses up between their pointy ears to get the idea they're not wanted or welcome on Earth, and especially not in my neck of the woods? They're like ants, popping up just when you thought you had relief from them. Maybe it's a new, even stupider group. Well, they're going to be finding out they made a mistake when I sing them a dirge..' His face was clouded with restrained anger as he stalked down the street, forgoing his usual flight in favor of trying to figure out if there was a pattern to where the people had disappeared from that he was missing from the air. His spear, usually kept tucked away as a ring on his hand, was tapping out a steady rhythm, while his white coat billowed behind him and his helmet and hood left his usually vibrant eyes somewhat shaded, especially in the dim light from the street lamps. His gaze flickered all over, trying to catch a glimpse of a carriage, horses, or someone who wildly stood out from the neighborhood; all signs of a potential Fae.
  4. Don't have the brainpower for an IC tonight, but I'm going to be assuming Gabriel was walking and talking and doing Skill Mastery for a 30 on Gather Information.
  5. I'm going last anyways, but, to be clear, SC, how far out is Fenris from the action happening?
  6. (I'm trying to save Hero Points, yo.) Fenris Initiative: 8
  7. Another one of those weekends I'll be kind of in and out and not on for long stretches, FYI.
  8. In that case, I'll hold off posting repetitive "and Fenris keeps zipping across Europe" posts, and wait until we're good for me to post again.
  9. Gabriel tapped his chin in thought. "Fleur, we do have a couple of wounded here. Perhaps those who need or wish to could be returned to the ship, and then you could rejoin us to move to the laboratory?" He was clearly posing the idea to both teams, though he felt it was a fairly reasonable one. "As far as the underground threat....yes, I would rather face it above-ground. If it being above ground makes it damage the fault line less, that seems like the way to go. And if it's a giant monster, I guess we'll just have to tame it. Possibly by hitting it in the face with plants, rocks, ice, sound, and such. Whatever it takes to prevent the whole place going up and wiping out the Pacific coasts." He almost grimaced at his own words. 'Why do I get the feeling I might end up the one with the most injuries? Oh, right, there's a healer on our team, and it's me.'
  10. MY CUNNING PLAN, IN THREE PARTS! 1.) Solar Sentinel goes to aid Cavalier in super-strengthening the ship's course from below. 2.) Robomericana goes up top to help a.)coordinate the effort and b.)fluff-ish wise, help Part 3 go smoothly. 3.) Dragonfly and Fenris work together to tear a really big hole in the space-time continuum that (thanks to how Fenris does things) helps slow down the shipwreck in progress and guide it to a deserted section of coast or forest or something. Then, we can do SCIENCE! :science: :Dalek:
  11. It had taken only moments for Magnus to become Fenris, and just a couple blinks after that to get to the roof of the KST America building unnoticed. He took a moment on the top of the building to orient himself and get a bearing on the rapidly-approaching ship. It was a bit hard to miss at this point. "This may be one of my Top 5 Most Insane Moments. Good thing no one is about to record this with a good enough camera..." With a flash, he was gone, running through a tunnel of not-space down the side of the building; he was blocks away in less than a second. He appeared for the barest of moments at the bottom of pyramid plaza, clearly in a full on sprint, mid-stride. "YIPPE KI-YAY!" After that there was just short series of bursts of light along the angled slope of the Plaza, along with a few scratches to the glass (there would be an anonymous donation later on to fix it). He flashed into existence again for a split-second several hundred feet above the Pyramid Plaza moving at velocities that he by all rights shouldn't be achieving, before diving through another hole in space. The next time he appeared it was just in front of the nose of the craft. His glowing eyes widened a bit, but he extended claws from hand and foot, and though he left gouges about 15 feet long along the dorsal hull, he did finally manage to stop himself and be hanging on. To a half-destroyed ship that was at roughly terminal velocity over a crowded city. "In retrospect, I should have thought up a plan before latching onto the impending doom of the city..." He crouched there, his brain working overtime to determine a workable solution...
  12. Full Round Action Teleport is 20 miles for Fenris. So...I guess just let me know how many Rounds it'll be!
  13. Fenris paused, tilting his head to the side. "Reportedly the Aube Blanche. Which is so far outside the jurisdiction of your department it's not funny. Now if you'll excuse me, ma'am." And in a flash of light and rush of air, Fenris was gone and racing across the countryside.
  14. "You are purposefully misinterpreting my words, the situation, and the intent of the Baron, myself, and the staff here. I did not say we helped birth him. But it appears that the strange artifact, which was brought to this company for analysis, has properties we didn't yet discover. Properties that this facility, which, I might add, is thoroughly shielded and reinforced, not to mention equipped with top-of-the-line equipment, barely was able to pick up. Energies that barely registered here but that you picked up long distances away, hence why I was stating we needed you and your equipment to help us work on locating Lord Harrow and the watch. We never "threatened national security", this facility was merely performing science. Science is not always understood, that's the point of the process. Was it not made clear that Harrow was not, and is not, affiliated with the Katastrof Family, this company, or indeed this entire country? Because I'm sure it's a matter of open public record where Harrow has been before. Just like his visit to the Baron yesterday is recorded. And every single one of the tests run in the last day is recorded. And all results from the tests. We are obstructing nothing. I was simply wondering how it was you picked up readings this facility did not. As for tearing this place apart, I'm sure the lawyers will sort out just what you can and cannot "tear apart". As for helping capture the Watch, that was why I was asking about the sensitive equipment that should be arriving at this site any minute via helicopter; at least, that's what the Baron stated the rought timetable was." Before she could respond, he held one hand up to his ear and the other up in a "silence" gesture. He was receiving Velocity's communication, and gave a short, succicnt reply. "Understood. I will begin making my way there, but it will be a non-zero amount of time for me to make it there. Contact further if you change locations." He lowered both his hands and somehow managed to look smug with his canine face as he spoke to Lind again. "Velocity has located Harrow in Verbier, Switzerland. I somehow doubt your authority extends quite that far. Now, did you still need me here, or will I be allowed to go back up a member of the Freedom League against a potential threat?"
  15. Okay, so here's my plan: Fenris takes off running from the top of his building using his Teleport (which I fluff as moving through "tunnels" in space-time). He uses Pyramid Plaza to give him an angle of movement almost directly at the ship. Using Full Round Teleport for 20 miles, he should be able to hit it this turn. He can then start coordinating with everyone! In a plan that will involve ripping holes in space, which is kind of like thinking with portals.
  16. Sense Motive: 9 ...Okay, I have 3 HP, I'm using 1 for a reroll. SM Reroll: 9. Again. Which is, 19, which is STILL not enough. Not that he's scared, but I guess that would have told him she was lying or something.
  17. The armored man smirked, and Doctor Lind knew this because the mouth full of metal teeth smirked with its pilot. "Only to those who would harm the innocent or threaten society." Magnus managed to keep his suit from narrowing its eyes at the not-so-subtle threat to both of him, as well as his company. "Your "abnormal readings" are why I'm here. It's a bit curious, you see, because as I've taken to understand from the Baron, this laboratory was barely able to pick up any sort of reading on the watch-like artifact. You were with him when he was heading toward the lab where it was stored, yes? Yes, of course you were. So you know exactly what the Baron and these fine people knew, up until the moment he sounded the alarm and an imposter-likely one Lord Harrow under the influence of the artifact-impersonated him through one method or another. At this point we are, effectively, facing a nascent supervillain of some sort. Lord Harrow escaped with the watch. The superheroine Velocity is maintaining direct pursuit, and we're establishing a satellite communications link now. The Baron is in the situation room nearest the lab, and is working to correct any system issues from there. He requests the status on the government's apparently-superior sensory equipment. You know, the equipment that picked up signs of the watch from many kilometers away, despite the trouble this highly-advanced laboratory had getting much of anything to show up from the watch. And we know it can't be our own equipment; any signals from that are well-documented with the government. So right now we've got a speed-based villain on the loose, and apparently you're the only person with access to equipment that might be able to track him. Do you wish to aid in stopping him, Doctor Lind, or will we have to clean up this mess ourselves?" His tone was never anything but impeccably polite, but it was clear Fenris was not impressed by the supposed authority of this Doctor, and found her demands for "explanation" suspicious, when all was said and done. Wolves can be a bit territorial, after all.

  19. It had been a rather nice Monday for Baron Magnus Katastrof. His company had had no crisis of any sort for at least a week, his hero patrols (infrequent that they tended to be, as opposed to reactions to major events cropping up) had been refreshingly quiet, and the weather was turning nice for once. Well, for a cold-blooded Swede like himself, anyways; these Americans wandered about shivering like it was the middle of winter in the Arctic, whereas he was finding himself comfortable with his jacket off and sleeves rolled up while he worked away the hours at his desk. Which is why the blaring alarm routed to his office from NORAD made him mutter a few words he'd never say around his niece as he scrunched up his brow and had the right wall of the work space display the issue. He blinked, then swore again as he realized just what was going on. "As if one alien ship smashing into the planet wasn't enough this year...and this one doesn't have the decency to head out to sea..." He narrowed his eyes and commanded the video feed to zoom in... 'Damage...but from what? Doesn't matter, I suppose.' He swiftly signaled the building's systems to initiate an orderly emergency evacuation to shelters. He wasn't sure what good they'd do if everything failed, but it was better than just sitting in a high-rise building. In the meanwhile, he made sure the one satellite that was under his company's purview and that possessed a clear line of sight on the ship was sending feeds to NORAD, AEGIS, UNISON, the Freedom League, and basically everyone he could think of that might be able to help. But time was short. "I guess we'll see just how the suit will hold up under extreme conditions." Even as he walked to his extra-private lab space, the rack containing his armor was "spooling up", ready to transmit the high-tech suit onto his body with a moment's notice. And he had the computer send pre-set basic messages to several of his fellow technology-oriented heroes in the city, in the hopes that at least a couple would contact the hero Fenris and coordinate efforts to divert the incoming ship.
  20. Right, so, current height of the craft?
  21. "I have less frame of reference, but it does seem the watch is influencing his behavior. Which is part of my worry. Right now he's...well, he's focused on you. But that might change with little notice." Fenris seemed to contemplate her statement about not "waiting around" for a few moments, before giving a slow nod. "That's fair enough. We have a few communicators around here that you can take." He walked to the security desk outside the labe and dug around for a moment before extracting one and handing it to her. "This should serve well enough, though if you get far enough away it may take time to reach back to us here. I will find the Inspector and help her and the Baron coordinate the search from here." With a final nod, Fenris disappeared in a flash of light and rush of air down the hall.
  22. Gabriel's voice sounded in everyone's ear for a moment. "Inbound at high speed, on-site in a moment." And indeed, in a rush of air and a far-off sound like a sonic boom, he was suddenly floating to the ground next to the others. "Handy to be able to fly sometimes. Now, what's this about the island going mad, and just where is the lab and how hard will it be to get to it?"
  23. "Certainly faster than I could manage without blowing out half my suit's systems, I'd wager. As for tracking him..." He gestured around the lab. "Probably we could rig something up here. The problem is, the Baron told me their equipment wasn't picking up much from the Watch. Certainly not at the levels we could track it across-" His posture shifted, and the metallic maw grinned a bit as he snapped his fingers (an odd sound when they're coated in a metallic armor alloy). "The Inspector! Doctor Lind, she said the government was picking something up at this lab. That's why the Baron was here in the first place and why I was placed on alert. Perhaps she can shed some light on the subject, and with her in-bound equipment help us track him." He started heading for the door, not using his teleport system for the moment, pausing to turn back toward Velocity. "That is, if you're comfortable asking for her aide; it seems the most expedient method." Internally, Magnus's mind was racing through possible ways to track the Watch, but the sudden shift in scale was problematic. Getting someone else's equipment that was already tuned for greater distance was the best path.
  24. Magnus closed his eyes for a brief moment, breathing to calm himself. He'd done this a couple of times before, but it was still an odd sensation. With a flicker of thought, his body, up to his neck, was clad in a form-fitting interface suit. A moment of motion had his hands grasping his phone and palmtop in their "holsters". He spoke the command unlock phrase. "Tjut, Fenris." And in a flash of light and a rush of air, it was not Baron Magnus Katastrof standing in the situation room, but the armored hero Fenris. In the blink of an eye, he was gone, flashing into existence further down the hall. He flashed into sight briefly a couple more times, before finally coming to a halt inside the lab. His eyes landed on Velocity after a moment. "Where's Harrow and the watch?"
