  1. OOC for the thread. Don't anticipate rolling, but I like having one. And it's a good place for questions!
  2. That actually hits exactly, since his Defense is +10. Kobalos DC 27 Toughness: 20. He is Dazed and Injured 1! Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Bruised x1, 5HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Unconscious Arachne (25): Disabled, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Injury x1, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Bruised x1, 3HP Kobalos (6): Dazed (Ironclad's Action), Injuredx1, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 4HP Dragonfly's move!
  3. Gabriel raised a single eyebrow in surprise at the degree of infrastructure this far down and hidden so well. "Impressive base." He remained silent as they met "the boss" and he explained how things would work. Gabriel thought for a few moments, then slowly nodded. "Those are reasonable terms. Are we going to have any support from your group on this endeavor, albeit indirect? Or simply directions and transport?"
  4. Tagging.
  5. Fenris smirked as Arachne floated there, the damage more evident now that the shock had faded from her systems for a few moments. "You made a mistake targeting who you did. You thought these companies wouldn't get help from superheroes, when the likes of the Foundry were involved? Especially when the owners put together what you were building? You're lucky half the Freedom League isn't on your heads. That's okay though. I like getting a chance to kick a few faces." Letting go of his right arm, he again targeted the mind-walking gynoid in front of him...and missed wide as his arm twitched at the last moment. 'Nerves. Blast.'
  6. GM Post The lady clad in armor slammed into the multi-limbed robot in a blur of movement and a clamor of sound. The larger bot seemed somewhat shaken and battered, but still had its wits about it. The purple-haired woman crumpled to the ground unconscious. Where her armor promptly started folding back into her body, leaving a basic morphic molecule jumpsuit behind. Meanwhile, the floating psychic's systems had partially rebooted, though she still seemed to be in trouble.... **************************************************************************** The "man's" shades fell away, revealing eyes that at a glance might seem human, but on closer inspection bore telltale technological signs. Otherwise he seemed unharmed, and just grinned. "Kobalos. Mark 2. Designed by Talos. And I stole from the Swede." He took a couple steps back, his eyes flitting about for a moment....before he swiped his right leg in a powerful kick aimed at Ironclad's waist. The armor-clad heroine managed to not only sidestep most of it, but swat the rest away. "You had training?" His voice was almost....conversational.

  8. Yowser! Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Bruised x1, 5HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Arachne (25): Disabled and Dazed (Fenris's Action), -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Injury x1, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Bruised x1, 3HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 4HP 21 hits, barely Empousa Toughness Save DC 26: 16. Ouch! She is Staggered, and Dazed again! Grapple Check: 34, which isn't enough! So. 28 is enough to hit the Defense-shifted Hek. Which....means DC 26 Toughness from them again. Oy. Empousa Toughness Save DC 26: 15. Empousa's out! Hekatoncheire Toughness Save DC 26: 22. So he is Injured again. Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Bruised x1, 5HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Unconscious Arachne (25): Disabled and Dazed (Fenris's Action), -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Injury x1, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Bruised x1, 3HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 4HP
  9. The Rings intentionally and explicitly tap into several "broad strokes". The "roles" (leader, illusionist, etc) are common ideas for jobs in a fight. The principles behind them are positive and negative aspects of humanity (and the universe at large, really). The elements used are pretty universal. I could see something like the Stones tapping into similar energies. Perhaps their "frequency" is dissimilar enough they're a distinct "flavor" or "texture", but not so radically different there aren't interesting questions! I've kept the nature of the rituals that made the rings purposefully vague and mysterious. In my mind, only the Master Mage, that super-librarian in the Terminus (the one that helps the Furions), and the evil dark mage (Malcador?) who lives in the Terminus would have a chance of actually knowing the ritual. I suppose if all the Parkhurst mages sat down and poked and prodded one of the Rings, and studied the scans of the cave where Corbin found it, they'd have a shot at figuring out the ritual (with skill, luck, and some mystical duct tape...). Point is, I'd be up for playing on the similarities. I don't see them being outright connected, mind.
  10. GM Post The two enemy women (well, one gynoid and one...armored woman?) in the room seemed to sway in place, unable to do much. Arachne was still rebooting and rerouting her systems, and Empousa was trying to shake off the ringing in her head from Bee-Keeper's blow. But mighty Hekatoncheire simply stood and weathered Dragonfly's attack. Some metal plates peeled off his structure, and one of his pinky fingers snapped off, but overall he seemed to be entirely functional still. The large robot stared up at Dragonfly for a few moments, before turning away. "Following orders. Reassessing targets. New target acquired. Moving to Empousa's aid." With that, the many-armed robot stomped over to stand next to Bee-Keeper. Its eyes glowed for a moment, before suddenly a torrent of punches flew out, striking against the Apian Avenger's mighty armor! It was clear this robot cared only for removing threats, whoever the threat might be.
  11. Man all 3 of these sound interesting! Story 1 sounds like a good hook for Fenris; criminal "kings" and business-related heroes going at it? Sure thing! Story 2 is great for Cobalt Templar; magic/magictech/Clarketech gems that warp reality sound a bit like the Seven Rings, and he does have Space Flight now. Story 3 is all about diplomacy and stuff, so that sounds like a good slot for Gabriel! As for general story things...I'd like to see more Space stuff in general. Space, and then science (be it Foundry, Labyrinth, etc). Foreign exploits and villains seem fun as well.
  12. DC 26 Toughness: 24. So that's an...Injury. Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Bruised x1, 5HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Arachne (25): Disabled and Dazed (Fenris's Action), -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Injury x1, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 3HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 4HP Empousa and Arachne...do nothing! Dazed! Hekatoncheire is implacable as always. But Dragonfly's out of reach. But Bee-Keeper is right there, and his dance partner seems out of it, so time to get Hek in on the action! Move Action: Get over to Bee-Keeper. Standard Action: Melee Attack Bee-Keeper. 27. That exceeds by....6. So that's a DC 23 Toughness Save. (Yes I kept the roll. GM perogative. ) Bee-Keeper is up next. EDIT: Going to revise this when I'm hope, can reference books, and can think on this uninterrupted. EDIT 2: Revised. Make a save, SpicyWaffle!
  13. DC 27 Toughness Save: 30. EDIT: Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Bruised x1, 5HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Arachne (25): Disabled and Dazed, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Uninjured, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 3HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 4HP And it's up to Dragonfly again!
  14. Fenris grit his metallic teeth. While the sensation wasn't truly painful, the waves of psychic force lashing against his armor caused an unpleasant near-stinging sensation. After the attack abated, he lowered his arms and gave Arachne a look that might have sent lesser beings quailing in fear. "My turn." And with that, he held up his right arm, steadied by his left, and charged his PPC for a moment. As his HUD flashed a solid lock and sounded a tone, he sent the mental "trigger". A bolt of coherent near-lighting slashed through the air, leaving a scent of ozone lingering for a few moments. The lightning struck Arachne in her glowing midsection. The gynoid seized and shuddered, the high-powered electrical blast having left a scorch mark, and clearly having pushed through her tough construction. The psychic robot was left floating there, only half-aware of her surroundings as some of her internal systems worked hard to reboot themselves.
  15. GM Post Empousa frowned as Bee-Keeper dodged her blow. Her eyes widened as he slammed an armored fist into her midsection, letting out a surprisingly human wheeze of pain as she took a half step back, clearly trying to clear the stars in her eyes. ********************************* Meanwhile, Ironclad was taking a last look at her handiwork when her suit sensors detected...something...in the barely-audible sound range. Too late did she realize it was right behind her. Air "whooshed" as a black metallic fist slammed right in between her shoulder blades, the impact giving off a loud *ring* of metal-on-metal. From thin air, a human-looking android seemed to melt into existence, light slowly un-bending from around his body. The "shades" over his eyes gleamed in the light as he crooked his mouth in a bit of a grin. "Need to learn to watch your back or stay with backup, little girl."
  16. Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Bruised x1, 5HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Arachne (25): Uninjured, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Uninjured, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 3HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 5HP Kobalos goes. Ironclad gets 1 HP for not seeing this coming: Move Action: Get to the point right behind Ironclad, undetected. Standard Action: Punch! 30. So that's a DC 30 Toughness Save! Fenris's go. Standard Action: PPCs vs Arachne. 23 hits. Arachne DC 25 Toughness Save: 15. Um. Since she's a Fort-immune Construct, that's automatically Lethal. So she's now Disabled and Dazed (Fenris's Action). Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Bruised x1, 5HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Arachne (25): Disabled and Dazed, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Uninjured, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 3HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 5HP
  17. That does hit! Defense 20 on this lady. 36 means no Grapple. Strike Toughness Save: 20! On a DC 26. So...Dazed&Bruised (I assume True Juzztizze isn't yet in the cards!). EDIT: Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Uninjured, 6HP Empousa (25): Dazed (Bee-Keeper's Action), Bruizedx1, -HP Arachne (25): Uninjured, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Uninjured, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 3HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 5HP Kobalos shall be posted soon...
  18. Triggered melee attack: 12. Swing and a miss! :?
  19. GM Post The green and white gynoid observed Dragonfly's reaction with no outward emotion. The fact that the electrical surge did exactly nothing seemed to factor into her nonchalant response. "Hekatoncheire, deal with the one who is giving us free power charges. I shall deal with the one who hides in the rafters." Casually sliding the armored heroine's hand off of her shoulder, Arachne floated almost serenely into the air before turning to face Fenris on his new perch. She waved a hand in his direction. "You are inferior, and you will fall." An invisible wave of mental force slammed into the wolf-suited man, but he had braced himself for the blow, and it rolled around his form like water around a rock. Perhaps in time the waves would wear away the rock, but at this juncture, the rock stood firm. Arachne simply narrowed her eyes slightly. Meanwhile, the many-handed robot turned and inexorably moved over to Dragonfly. Once within reach of his many, many hands, a rain of blows similar to the one Fenris weathered rained down on the insect-themed heroine. Most of his fists struck home; any one blow would be fairly minor, but with so many landing so quickly, it was a force to be reckoned with. Even as those fights raged, the purple-haired woman (or was she?) sped into the room as a blur of motion. She glanced at the fights already progressing, before nodding to herself. She moved to one side of the door, entering a basic "ready" stance; a crude "trap" to spring upon whichever hero first came through the doorway!
  20. If he be chasin', he ain't gettin' an HP! Which is fine, he's still got plenty. Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Uninjured, 6HP Empousa (25): Uninjured, -HP Arachne (25): Uninjured, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Uninjured, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 4HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 5HP Empousa is up. Let's see... Move Action: Move into the room with the rest. Standard Action: Ready a Melee Attack against the next person to come into the room! Arachne: Free Action: Taunt Dragonfly, order Hekatoncheire to attack her. Move Action: Hover up into the air in the middle of the lab space and face Fenris Standard Action: Ranged Attack! 26 definitely hits. DC 25 Toughness Save Fenris gets...28! No-sell! Hekatoncheire: Move Action: Get into Melee Range with Dragonfly Standard Action: Melee Attack with so many hands at once! 30, which exceeds 23 by 7, which gives him +3 Autofire damage. So that's a DC....23 Toughness save vs FISTS OF FURY. As Bee-Keeper moved with a readied action, it is now his full turn! :geek: EDIT: I will say BK3 can get into the other room with his next move action (high speed is a little risky in small tunnels!), and thus still have a standard action to blast zzome foolzz.
  21. Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Uninjured, 6HP Empousa (25): Uninjured, -HP Arachne (25): Uninjured, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Uninjured, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 5HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 5HP Added in HP for BK and IC. As soon as SW posts his held action, it's back to the top of the order with DF!
  22. "You must hate shopping for gloves." The mouth full of metal fangs smirked at that, a sight that would have left some organics shaking with a fair bit of fear, but that the many-handed robot simply ignored. Fenris gave a shove to give himself precious inches, before crouching down for a split-second. Before Hekatoncheire could try and strike again, there was a flash of light, and suddenly Fenris was on a small observation balcony several feet behind his opponent, and almost as many feet up. Still plenty close enough. "You'll have to let me know how these-" Whatever he was going to say dropped off as the lightning-bolt shots from his PPCs went wide on either side of the robot. Metal fangs ground together for a moment in frustration. "Great, now the alignment's off."
  23. GM POST The warehouse seemed almost eerily empty aside from the heroes. Oh, there were automated forklifts and drones moving things about here and there, but even that activity was subdued. The storage space itself was, while not empty, far from full. There were just enough items in just enough places to make it impossible to see everything except maybe if you flew up to the ceiling...except it was only about 25 feet tall. Not much considering how wide the place was. Over to one side there was empty space with what looked like drone recharge stations. Likely for the swarm of now-broken robots. But hey, at least they were alone in here. Right? Just that moment, faint sounds of shouting and metal tearing drifted into the warehouse from somewhere down the tunnel where the purple-haired lady had run off to...
  24. Kobalos will do...things.... Fenris up. He's going to Teleport up to the second level of the lab, giving him a clean shot on Hek without risking his own neck too much. Move Action: Teleport. Standard Action: PPC Ranged Attack. 19, which misses by a country mile. Initiative Order Dragonfly (25): Uninjured, 6HP Empousa (25): Uninjured, -HP Arachne (25): Uninjured, -HP Hekatoncheire (21): Uninjured, -HP Bee-Keeper (13): Uninjured, 4HP Kobalos (6): Uninjured, -HP Fenris (5): Uninjured, 0HP Ironclad (4): Uninjured, 4HP Ironclad is up!
  25. GM Post The green and white "woman" seemed a little surprised both at the sheer ferocity of Dragonfly's attack, and the fact that she'd targeted the still-incomplete orbital weapon instead of herself or perhaps the assembly mechanism. More surprising still was the level of damage inflicted! "Unacceptable! You have set our project back at least a week! Valuable components have been lost. You must be pacified. Your armor's designs will prove useful." "She" all but glided to a point behind Dragonfly, then lifted both arms. An invisible wave of force smashed into the angry armored heroine, reverberating in her mind as much as it did her bones. Meanwhile, Hekatoncheire advanced on the wary Fenris. Before the latter could do more than blink, the somewhat larger robot launched a furious fusillade of fists and fingers, an assaulting avalanche of assassination that the wolf-shaped man only barely managed to brace against, his armor taking the brunt of the attack with only a few surface scratches. "You are resilient. Impressive. Futile."
