Gabriel turned at that statement, sighing. "Listen, Crow. I've heard about you. Nick Cimitiere and Equinox have mentioned you. You're a kid, though. Why are you getting mixed up in this." Gabriel cautiously started to move, tapping the hilt of his spear against the ground a couple of times. Suddenly, his heavy coat kicked up in an invisible breeze of sound, and the whole alley echoed with his voice. "But if you ever heard of me, of Gabriel, you'd know you're in over your head, kid. Back down, now, and hopefully we can avoid injury. You don't want to do this, child." Then, suddenly, his spear snapped to his left, the blunt end striking the invisible (but not silent) Crow right in the torso. "Come on, snap out of it!"
-
Portal closed, time to take care of this kid. EDIT: Forgot Save! 21 on that. Standard Action: Dropping down the AOE version of Emotion Control, blanketing the whole alley area. Since I can hear him and pinpoint him, Crow's not hidden. Emotion this time is Despair. DC 22 Will Save. Move Action: Get over to where Crow is. Free Action: Extra Effort: Surge (go ahead and count that HP as gone) Standard Action: Melee Attack against Crow. 24 to hit him with the butt of the spear (non-lethal damage). DC 27 Toughness Save.

"Enchanting children to do your dirty work? Unsurprising, but still an act of filthy cowardice, fairy." Gabriel's unique "sixth sense" helped warn him of Crow's attack. With his spear, he swept the knives and wire aside, turning to face the young adventurer for a moment. A slight sense of sorrow passed over the hero's face. "Forgive me, but you need to Calm Down." His voice rumbled with authority, and a wave of sound went forth from the shining defender of the innocent to strike Crow; Gabriel's intent was to render the youth non-hostile long enough to hopefully catch the Fae. He turned and raced for the portal, but it was all but closed when he arrived. Still, he got a good look at it. He knew where the creature had run off to, and he smiled. "You can run, but you can't hide, fairy."
-
So many options.... First. Free Action: Reaction, Skill Mastery Gather Info, using Well-Informed, to know who Crow is. That's a 30; I'll check his chart in a bit. Standard Action: Emotion Control: Calm, at Crow (I'm forgoing the Area extra for obvious reasons). DC22 Will Save. Move Action: Move over to the portal just a moment too late for drama's sake!

22, so he's good. EDIT: Notice Check for portal: 31.

Abbey of Saint Marcellin Champagnat Rising well above the fairly flat area surrounding it, the new Cistercian monastery present on Sanctuary is a slightly unusual, but very welcome sight. The large building sits on a slight hill, its steeple almost doubling its height. The stone walls are a light brown, softening its imposing bulk and giving it a vaguely homey feel; this is augmented by the blue roof tiles that add a touch of cheer to its facade. The interior of the building is a strange blend of ancient and modern, with plenty of electrical lighting, central air/heating, and interior plumbing making the prospect of staying in a stone building more appealing. Approximately 35 Cistercian monks, of varying ages and skillsets, call the monastery their home. They cultivate a large garden on-site, as well as engaging in a bit of trade with the villagers present, and the occasional shipment from Earth-Prime. To supplement the garden, they have a decent amount of livestock they keep; quite a few chickens, and a few cows (solely for milk at the moment) help provide meat, milk, and eggs to supplement their diet. But more important than the facilities to keep themselves sheltered and fed are the ones to help the natives of this battered world. The library is well stocked with both theological works, and a large variety of teaching materials; a full third of the brothers at the monastery hold degrees in education, and freely provide classes for both children and adults, on subjects ranging from basic reading and math, to advanced agriculture and animal husbandry. Just as valuable, perhaps, is the very modern and fully stocked infirmary, providing care for both regular checkups and more critical care for injuries and illness. Five of the monks have medical education, with one of them being a qualified surgeon who plans to dedicate the rest of his life to helping those in a much less fortunate position. The rest of the brothers, besides possessing the skills to help maintain the monastery itself, are free to provide counseling, theological instruction, or even just a friendly helping hand and listening ear whenever the people may require it. All in all, the Abbey of Saint Marcellin Champagnat on Sanctuary is a place of learning and hope, hope for a growing future for these people and this world.

"It's a bit late to run and hide the bodies, don't you think?" The stern voice wafted down from up above. If Crow or the Fae would look up, they'd see Gabriel, arms crossed sternly over his chest, scowling as he slowly floated down to street level. His tone brooked no argument, and was all but dripping with disapproval. "You look a bit young to already be going in as super-powered muscle, kid. It's a good thing these guys aren't actually dead. Looks like you've got a good right hook. Tell you what, you come along quiet, and if this was some sort of mutual brawl, we can probably get you off light..." He trailed off as he actually looked at the man in old-style clothes (in Freedom City, that wasn't the sort of thing that always stood out), and saw the ears, and the unearthly appearance. His expression went from "disapproving teacher scowl" to "angry hate-filled snarl" in the blink of an eye. In another eye-blink, his arms held a shining spear that was pointed right at the Fae man before him, and his whole body faintly hummed with power. "Get out of the way, kid. That's a dangerous creature over there. Fae are nothing but trouble and deception and murder. Just stand back and I'll handle this."
-
Right, so, Gabriel stumbles across them...Do I need to make a Notice check or anything for Gabe to figure out the Sidhe noble is Fae not human? I want to play the entrance right. If it needs a check, I might have Gabe come in, offer assistance...then notice something's wrong.

Cobalt Templar's eyes had widened a fraction when a group of Terminus super-warriors just appeared all around them. He saw Mark get tied up, he saw Redbird struck from the sky, and he saw everyone under assault from enemies that looked like humans, like people, but that were demons in disguise, as far as he was concerned. He turned to Blood Diamond just as she flashed a gem at his face and tried to mess with his mind. He managed to lean his head to one side, missing the blast of light, and just shook off the stuff trying to get into his mind. He turned his gaze on the "woman" who was his opponent. And in the now somewhat brighter light of his armor and the flames surrounding him, Cobalt Templar smiled, his teeth gleaming as he spoke. "Missed me. Now for something everyone here should recognize." He held out his right hand, and in it a somewhat familiar weapon appeared. Once more the blade glowed like a trapped piece of a star, flames roiling within the tightly controlled shape of the blade. He gripped it in two hands, and shot off through the air, suddenly shouting out as he did so. "And gentlemen on Earth, now a-bed, shall think themselves accursed, that they were not here, and hold their manhoods cheap whilst any speaks, that fought with us here!" The blade flashed, and while for a moment it seemed it might not strike, at the last moment his wrists shifted slightly, and the blade struck true.

Right, so Inspire's giving a +5 to Attack. That's good. Let's be about it! Move Action: Fly over to Blood Diamond, melee Range. Free Action: Fires of Judgement are set on Strike Standard Action: Melee Attack 19. Per AA that hits (she's in tough-form right now). DC 27 Toughness Save. Oh, and it's got Penetrating 12, FYI.

Corbin was still disoriented when the Factor Four began to flee. He saw Sage get up and shoot lasers out of her eyes, but hey he was a ghost so that wasn't weird right? Of course, there was another problem. "Sharl! Watch out, don't overload the ring or something!" He felt helpless, because it seemed like the villains were getting away and he was so slow...But maybe one was close enough. He turned toward Slyph, grit his teeth, and started running. Of course, he wasn't really "running" so much as "moving quickly through the air"; his legs moved, but they didn't really seem to do anything. Still, he got up to speed and caught up to the rock-bound woman, a frown on his face. "Y'all need to get back here so we can fix this mess." With that, the ghostly cowboy gave a fierce expression of resolve on his face, pulled back a fist, and punched her. That is, punched into her, where the chill of his ghostly form would hopefully slow her down. 'This is so messed up but Kimber does it all the time don't think about it too much don't stop can't think about it have to stop the villains..'

Right, interesting times! Move Action: Charge Rock!Slyph. +2 Attack, -2 Defense. Standard Action: Well, I want to use the Drain Strength, so... Concentration Check DC 15: 5. Ugh. Extra Effort to forgo the check (HP will be used to avoid Fatigue). Melee Attack for Drain Strength: 26. If it hits, DC 22 Fortitude Save.

Just so I understand, AA, are the 2 HP here in addition to the 2 HP I got at the beginning of the thread (1 for Mark, 1 for being YF 1.5 and Terminus stuff), giving +4 HP total (and thus currently putting me at 7 HP)? Anyways, ooftah, lots going on here! So, DC20 Reflex Save: 20 on the dot. DC20 Will Save: 27, like a boss.

"The real problem, Doctor, is that we don't know their supplier. They weren't kind enough to inform us beforehand, and while I managed to talk one down enough he was cooperative...Well, they can't really form human speech right now." He gestured about the lab, nodding at Kirkstrom with a bit of respect. "It's clear you're working hard to atone, and you don't seem like the type who would be selling this stuff to gangs, or anyone really. So that leaves us wondering who else might have access to this formula, enough to reproduce it in at least small quantities at a time. We were hoping you could give some insight into what might be going on here." He was very careful not to accuse Doctor Kirkstrom; not only did he believe and hope the man was trying to do the right thing with his life, but also because angering him seemed like a move that could end rather painfully (though mostly for the Doctor when it all settled down).

"Man, my head feels weird. Why am I...so...tingly..." Corbin trails off as he wavers out of the smoke and sees Kimber's rather more corporeal form. Then he notices the rather altered blue glow around his body, bringing his own hands up...And seeing right through them to view the Factor Four. His voice is oddly flat as he speaks. "What." Corbin's "redesign" was more radical than just his rather obvious ghostly nature. Instead of his traditional armor, he was dressed almost like a cowboy of old, including duster, hat, bandanna, and a Lone-Ranger-style mask on his face. A face that was rather gaunt, the ethereal skin stretched just a bit tight over the bones, his eyes glowing white orbs. He had a pistol hanging at his hip, and a longer "firearm" of some kind hanging off his back. His whole outfit, from his hat to his boots, was tattered, though it was mostly a "frayed around the edges" look; only his head showed more significant change than being "blue and translucent". He looked up at the altered members of the Factor Four, a scowl stretching his ghostly face even more. His next words were a bit of a growl. "Well, this is just הממשלה."

There was an odd sound from close to the Quantum Bauble display; after a moment, it became clear it was a human unconsciously trying to growl like a grizzly bear. That said human was six and a half feet tall, encased in shining blue armor, and swathed in a transparent aura of flame may or may not aide the unconscious intimidation effect. "Bad move, Sparky." Cobalt Templar took a single step forward, and before his other foot hit the ground he was flying through the air. A split second after that, and he seemed to be wearing a huge suit of armor, albeit one where the whole thing seemed made of compressed fire, for an effect not unlike the surface of the sun. For all that, the air wasn't burning in his wake. He reached out for the wavering villain of fire with one of his enormous hands. "Now you're gonna be a punching bag for me and the little miss here." Blue flame covered red, and while Pyre's body tried to harm the bearer of the Blue Ring, it seemed the Fires of Judgement were more powerful than Mere Fire. Cobalt Templar was unharmed even as he closed his whole fist around Pyre's torso.

Right then. Free Action: Shift to GIANT FORM! Free Action: All-Out Attack 5: Defense is 2, Attack is 12 Move Action: Get to Melee Range with Pyre. Standard Action: Time for Fire Hugs of Justice. Attempting to initiate a Grapple Melee Attack: 24. Per Gizmo, that hits. Grapple Check: 38. And he has a Damage Aura, Toughness Save DC 23, so 31 on that. So, he's probably Grappled. And since Corbin's a Size Category larger, that'll be in 1 hand. :P
