  1. "Uh...nope. Hadn't heard I was apparently named Swordsman of the Millennium. Nice to know we're famous for that somewhere, without any skepticism." He managed not to twitch at the thought of Mark on a Wyldride, though it was a near thing. "Does look powerful, for sure." 'Redbird's better-looking, and that thing's just all brute-strength. Fitting, I suppose.' Corbin kept his thoughts to himself, but let a small grin peek onto his face. "Nah, no worries about seasickness here, Eve. Kind of hard to get seasick when you fly so much anyways, right? And you know me, Eve. Always up for lunch." A grin and a wink followed that comment, before Corbin trailed after his friends, keeping a very slightly cautious eye on Max Muscle the whole "trip". He still didn't trust the larger-than-him teen. But before they even got to the boat (and thus the food!), drama intervened itself. Corbin blinked as a woman came roaring in on an interdimensional motorcycle and started yelling at Max Muscle, who was apparently a delinquent dad. And was now arguing with his Baby Mama about who gets the kid. While attending a party for the "Coolest Heroes Evar". His opinion of Max took a flaming nosedive from the barely-climbing altitude it had held, while his opinion of the Furions lessened a bit, for sending such an obviously immature person to be the bearer of their thanks. And then the woman grabbed Mark in some sort of incomprehensible claim of "choosing a new father" and grabbing Mark and heading for a portal. He didn't even change into his armor before he rocketed into the air, swearing the whole way (though not necessarily in English). "Τι είδους άθλια δικαιολογία για έναν πατέÏα είναι αυτός ο Ï„Ïπος;? جلب هذه النÙايات جيري سبرينغر الثور إلى حزبنا! Ego nocere aliquis!! ×”×ישה ×ž× ×©×§ הגמל עומד להתחרט לקחת חבר שלי!"
  2. Cobalt Templar gave Gal Vanic a tired but genuine smile. "Good job, he had it coming. Seems like I did more good over here, anyways. As for the bombs, Leroj said the two of us can defuse them. We have to combine our energies, but it has to be in sync. Otherwise, I'm thinking very very bad things. Guess we take care of this one first, then hurry over to the other one? I think I still have it in me for that, at least." He glanced down into the hold, eyeing the situation. "We should probably go help them, shouldn't we?" With that, sword unconsciously still in hand, he floated down slowly into the hold next to Papercut, giving the situation a once-over before giving his teammate a grin. "Nice work, Papercut. Very nice."

  4. Gabriel frowned at the piles of hell-spawned vermin, but the heap of evil wasn't immediately attacking them. So he chose to go after the immediate issue. As he walked toward the bartender laying on the ground, his silvery weapon suddenly began emitting light like that of the noonday sun. The flickering shadows were chased away by the illumination as the hero in silver and white knelt by the man's side. He gently tried to assess his condition while moving him as little as possible. His voice was laced with concern when he spoke. "He's alive, but it's a near thing, and he needs help. Fast. I'm afraid to move him, though. We need to get the paramedics here ASAP." He cast a baleful glower at the thing in the middle of the room. "We might have to deal with that first..."
  5. Per his spear's ability, I'm cranking out Light Control to produce the equivalent of full daylight. It goes out to 25 feet, which should more than take care of the basement. Then I'll go over to the bartender and check if he's breathing. I'll roll a Notice for just seeing what I can, uh, notice. 19 means "probably not much".
  6. Cobalt Templar frowned as he saw that while they were holding their own, his two allies were in a bit of a deadlock with their opponents. Each pair wasn't gaining ground one way or another. Time to change that. Wordlessly, he accelerated across the small field they were battling in, and adjusted the grip on his hammer. He threw some caution to the wind with his plan, but he wanted to make sure he hit the son of a gun. He judged the angles as he flew in, and then, when he was close enough, he heaved the fiery weapon around and smacked the goon right in the torso. The sound of the impact echoed across the clearing. "Come on, Nick! We'll take this loser down then help Midnight wrap this up! Then maybe we can figure out who sent them."
  7. GM Post The other orange-clad villain who was still conscious gave his own roar, even as Redbird's attack pounded his armor. The spectral bounds burst as his arms flailed around his body, before he regained just a slight bit of control of himself. Unlike his comrade, he didn't give an intelligible reply to Midnight's ultimatum. Instead, he reared back one arm and let fly with a sphere-like blast of energy that fluctuated even as it flew through the air. Of course, perhaps it was that same erratic nature that meant it ended up going wide from hitting Midnight. The half-crazed attacker just gave a bestial growl as he glared at the black-clad vigilante.
  8. Initiative Roster: -.)Orange Goon 3 (29): Unconscious, 0 HP 1.)Midnight (23): Unhurt, 3 HP 2.)Orange Goon 1 (20): Unhurt, 0 HP 3.)Redbird (19): Unhurt, 0 HP , 4.)Orange Goon 2 (18): 1 Bruise, 0 HP 5.)Nick Cimitiere (14): 2 Bruise, 3 HP 6.)Cobalt Templar (9): 1 Bruise, 4 HP I'm going to assume Gizmo's just going to roll his description for Redbird's action into his Midnight post. Anyways, with Nick having gone, it's time for CT to go. He's gonna keep his strike going, and go after....Orange Goon 1. Move Action: Get up in OG1's bus-nax. Free Action: Because, again, this is just Round 1 of 2... All-Out Attack 5: Attack is 17, Defense is 2 Standard Action: Melee Attack! That's a hit. So, DC 27 Toughness. 19 is...8 less. So, OG1 is Dazed and Bruised. Midnight is up once I get my GM and IC posts up. 9. Corbin had just handed his package to one of the staff of the house who had all but snuck up on him when he heard the BOOM. He managed not to flinch at it, but his eyes narrowed just a bit. He followed the others outside, only to see a rare sight: another young man whose build made him look small. Corbin blinked, and without realizing it, the towering young man shifted his posture a bit, standing as straight as he could, his shoulders moving to a slightly wider profile as he crossed his arms over his chest, unconsciously flexing his own arms a bit. He stayed toward the rear of the group, eyeing the intruder on their festivities. When he heard the Furion's name, he barely repressed a snort. 'Really? "Max Muscle"? Man, and I was left wondering about my name choice some days!' He shook off the though, raising an eyebrow as Redbird manifested as something other than a motorcycle. The AI kept impressing him with all her tricks. She also knew this lunkhead, so he decided to not be overly aggressive. Still, there was something he sort of wanted to know. "How did someone in another dimension catch word of the party?" There was no venom in his voice, but his stance made it clear Corbin was a bit skeptical about the whole thing.
  10. By the time Rogue swatted his blow away, Cobalt Templar was starting to breathe a little ragged. He wasn't out of the fight entirely, but a small part of him liked catching his breath. When Citizen told him to stay behind and try to help the others, he just nodded. It was only after the Tronik paragon had taken off that he started moving somewhat slowly. First he gently took Sage from her current resting place, and moved her somewhere a bit more sheltered. He frowned at the virtual wounds she bore. Someone would pay for them, and pay dearly. Then he turned, his face resolute, his sword-construct dragging slightly on the deck as he marched toward the hole leading to the others. As he walked, he gained a bit of strength. When he arrived at that spot, he began wordlessly hacking away at it, alternating powerful slices with bone-jarring jabs, trying to slowly but surely wear his way down to the hold. It promised to take a while. But he had plenty of free time at the moment...
  11. Corbin considers following Sharl, but his friends are stuck in a cargo hold with an enemy, and are also looking after a bomb. Not good. He's going to take that Strike he's got and try to peel his way down into the cargo hold. If he gets any HP, he'll use them to move himself from Exhausted to Fatigued, or even Normal, if he gets more than one (doubtful).
  12. "Yeah. Gotta plot out all the angles and such. Even with Tarrant's help, they want to do this like professionals." He shrugged at the mention of limited information. "Very very few know about this right now. We'd be sure to keep them from totally understanding where they are, or more importantly bringing along scanners that can trace their route. I'll make sure security and secrecy are taken as seriously as possible. As for placement, I'd imagined trying to put the facility in an unused section. Probably closest, relatively speaking, to the village. Bees...yes, we'll give them plenty of space." He managed to control the shiver that ran through his body, though Sonya noticed and only just managed not to laugh. "At any rate, it sounds like we have a very workable plan set up."
  13. Ok, everyone's on the sub by the end of their next post please. I would really really like to try and actually finish this thread before, perhaps, the end of my tenure at work (aka the end of June)? If people are totally uninterested, tell me now and we'll figure something out. But languishing like we are just won't cut it.
  14. GM Post The heroes went on the submarine as roughly the last people to board. Only a couple of crew members were left, and they too quickly got on board. The sub was soon sealed, and perhaps 10 minutes later, it finished all checklists and disengaged the docks. As the group was led to the on-board conference room (since they didn't need to be on the bridge while they were doing some of the more delicate navigation of the journey), they barely felt the submarine start to glide through the water. The intercom crackled after a moment. "This is the captain speaking. We are now underway. Diving will commence in 5 minutes. Normal movement is allowed, but please be aware we could hit some underwater eddies and experience turbulence. All passengers, if an emergency occurs, please listen to and follow the directions of any nearby crew member without question. Thank you." It was clear the announcement had been solely for the benefit of the passengers; any crew would know the occasional hazards of undersea travel. Their journey had now begun.
  15. "Don't go shirtless too early though. Shock value only lasts so long. You have to wrap the present to make it worthwhile." Gabriel judged the distance, shifted his grip on his shining, otherworldly spear, and slammed the silver head into the demon's side. "As for you, Mr. Wastes-the-Liquor, you're not boasting anything the other couple dozen demons I've downed haven't said before. You're a three of spades, not a king of darkness. Go tell your "boss" he's not welcome here, you piece of scum." The weapon struck true, its blessed metal sinking deep into what passed for a torso on a semi-amorphous blob of glass and alcohol. Almost casually, Gabriel turned to regard Harrier. "You going to want to reschedule the pep talk from tonight? Or just occasionally call us up for more tips? I'm good either way, man."
  16. Right, sorry, forgot it was my turn. I think I've got 7 Hero Points right now. Standard Action: Melee Attack with the Spear. 30 should hit. That's a DC 27 Toughness Save against Lethal Damage. Descriptors are Blessed/Holy, Piercing, Silver, if it matters. That's it for the moment.
  17. Current status of things: Initiative Roster: -.)Orange Goon 3 (29): Unconscious, 0 HP 1.)Midnight (23): Unhurt, 3 HP 2.)Orange Goon 1 (20): Unhurt, 0 HP 3.)Redbird (19): Unhurt, 0 HP , 4.)Orange Goon 2 (18): 1 Bruise, Bound/Helpless, 0 HP 5.)Nick Cimitiere (14): 2 Bruise, 3 HP 6.)Cobalt Templar (9): 1 Bruise, 4 HP Redbird has gone, so we're to Orange Goon 2. Move Action: 34 Grapple Check, goal is freedom. 23 is Nick's check. So OG2 is free. Hm. OG1 is still going after Nick. We'll say OG2 keeps going after Midnight. Standard Action: Blast at Midnight! 20 won't hit. Nick is up! I'll post IC once Gizmo tosses up a quick something for Redbird's action. Initiative Roster: -.)Orange Goon 3 (29): Unconscious, 0 HP 1.)Midnight (23): Unhurt, 3 HP 2.)Orange Goon 1 (20): Unhurt, 0 HP 3.)Redbird (19): Unhurt, 0 HP , 4.)Orange Goon 2 (18): 1 Bruise, 0 HP 5.)Nick Cimitiere (14): 2 Bruise, 3 HP <- 6.)Cobalt Templar (9): 1 Bruise, 4 HP
  18. "NO." Rogue's madness had clearly made her forget Cobalt Templar for a moment. He was still standing where he'd landed, his eyes laser-focused on the rebel Tronik native. The one who had threatened part of his team. One of his friends. Not just any threat; one of pain and agony, somehow more visceral than most of the threats they got from various two-bit supervillians. "You won't hurt her anymore. You won't even touch her." And suddenly there was a flare of blue light and Cobalt Templar was right there in Rogue's face, his hands grasping a sword that glowed like a miniature sun, nothing but compressed fire, compressed power. His broad shoulders turned smoothly, and it seemed he put his whole upper body into the swing that struck true on the red-eyed villain. "We're going to stop your plan. All of us. But me?" He took another swing, landing a blow in the opposite direction, the heat from the blade searing the air even as his towering musculature, enhanced by the surging fiery energy of his ring, drove it home with incredible force. "You've made it personal. You get to hurt. You should feel honored, perhaps." A third strike slashed at an upwards diagonal angle. "You made me so mad I used a construct reserved for someone who was actually scary. You're just a pathetic waste of storage wishing she had flesh again. Jealous. Petty. Afraid. Weak. So lay down you red-eyed pasty-skinned Trinity-wannabe × ×§×‘×” כלב!" The whole time, except for his initial exclamation, Corbin's voice hadn't raised in volume, and the tone was like someone presenting something at a business meeting. Cold, clipped, precise tones issues from his mouth; it was almost like he was trying to imitate the mannerisms of his friend Trevor when he was in "business clothes". Only the flames pouring from his cold eyes gave a hint at the fury that was roaring inside his very being.
  19. Initiative Roll: 18 EDIT: I get to go before Rogue. This is good, because Corbin is very very angry. Free Action: Switch Fires of Judgement array to Strike 3 with Penetrating 12 (should have done this before, but meh, Free Action anyways) Free Action: Attack modifiers: All-Out Attack 5: Defense is now 2, Attack is 17 Power Attack 5: Attack is 12, Save DC is 32. Full Action: Charge from where he is to hit Rogue. This makes his Defense +0 (so...10 total), and his bonus for this attack +14 Melee Attack: 24; that should hit, so Toughness Save DC 32 Free Action: Extraordinary Effort, to gain 2 Standard Actions Standard Action: Melee Attack! 19. Not sure if that hits. Standard Action: Melee Attack!23. should probably hit, Toughness DC 32 If the 19 hits, then I burn my last Hero Point next round to "only" be Fatigued. If it doesn't hit, then I burn that HP to reroll the attack: 32, which woulda been nice from the start. I should consider giving this thing Improved Crit at some point. Anyways, if I have to burn the HP there, then he's Exhausted, with, I believe, 1 Bruise. Anways, that should come out to 3 hits, each of which forces a DC 32 Toughness Save. 8-)
  20. My next task is to take a look at Cobalt Templar. He's got fewer points to spend, and is closer to where I want him to be. The big problem is, basically, his Big Guy form. The one with Dispersal Growth and Density. I keep looking at it and thinking it could be better...and then realizing I'd basically have to retool his Defense and Toughness entirely to be able to do the Growth part "right". So, I'm open to suggestions here. In theory, I'd see him going to +0/-0 normally on his Toughness/Defense, then switching to +5 Tou / -5 Def in "big form". But I don't know if I have the points for it right now...
  21. Cobalt Templar's eyebrows rose at the sheer ferocity of Gal Vanic's attacks. Maybe they should visit Tronik more often if Kimber got this kind of energy from coming here! At her words about Sage's conditions, his eyes widened. She was right! He couldn't feel the mental link any more. His brow furrowed, and his larger self melted away as he crouched on the roof for a moment. "I'll be back; we still need to disarm this thing. Give him a couple smacks to the mouth for me, would you?" And then there was a scorched dent in the roof as he rocketed into the air, a trail of shining blue fire travelling in his wake. He flew through the air at top speed, thinking of nothing but getting to his team. His team that had at least one member down. He had to take a few precious moments to figure out where they were, but there'd been enough of a sense of direction that he didn't get too lost. The digital air seared in his wake as flames roiled around his body, his arms held straight forward, his translucent cape snapping behind him. Finally, he saw the tanker, which stood out due to the wisps of smoke and the flashes of the fight below. He angled down for his landing. Those on the ship had a bit of warning as the sound of Templar's flames burning the very air reached their ears a few moments before he slammed into the deck, landing in a crouch, head facing down, his cape fluttering to stillness finally. Tiny tongues of blue flame flickered all over his body as he slowly raised his gaze and took in everything. Sharl's battered state, Sage's unconscious form, and the two enemies still standing hale and hearty in front of him. His face and voice were impassive as he took in the scene.
  22. Right, time to shake things up a bit! Full Round Action: Move all-out to reach Sharl and the rest of the team.
  23. Cobalt Templar felt that punch in his pinky fingers, let alone his solar plexus and his head, which snapped forward and back almost like he'd been in a car crash. He staggered backwards a couple of steps, swaying a bit on his feet. He saw stars for a few seconds, and Gal's heroic shout came to his ears muffled and distorted at first. But then it came in clearer. Templar shook his head and grit his teeth, and his feet steadied. He set his eyes on the now-disoriented Keres, and took a single huge step forward, his fist pistoning back for a huge hay-maker punch. He growled at the AI supervillain in front of him. "No! We won't let you hurt these people! I won't let you hurt my friends! I'll smash you first! You don't scare me, Keres!" Perhaps his vision still had a few stars in it, because unfortunately his punch went wide, leaving him a bit open for attack. He had the decency to look a bit ashamed of his over-eager blow.
  24. Right then. Free Action: Burn a Hero Point to get rid of Dazed. 1 HP left. Free Action: All Out Attack 5: Defense now...effectively 1 due to size, Attack is 17. Power Attack 5: Attack is 12, Unarmed Toughness DC is 32. Move Action: Get up in his face again! Standard Action: Cobalt PAWNCH! Swing an' a miss!
  25. Yipes! 36! 24. Ouch. 12 Under is...ouch, Staggered and Dazed. Hero Point Reroll. Sonnavucrap. Well, with the +10 from HP reroll, that's a 28, which makes just Dazed and Bruised. So I'll take that. 1 Bruise for CT, and -1HP.
