Right, so, first a save against Confuse. Will Save: 22. Next, we have what do with Vigourie. I think I'll Surge; using a HP to avoid Fatigue. Mixing things up a bit... First, I'll attack with Drain Toughness again. Attack: 25. DC 22 Rank 12 Drain Toughness. Move around a touch, and then... Intimidate Check: 39

The twin Cobalt Templars had stayed close to each other as they strode into the center of...well, it looked like the Center of Everything, really. "Whoa." Of course, then they were both barely saved by the Wanders from their respective universes. He shuddered to think what might have happened. Then, he was struck with an idea. He turned to face his double, clearly hanging back for a moment. "I have an idea! But you have to trust me!"

CT-Prime Delays until CT-Paragon's action.

Snow is now flying everywhere. Corbin, being an intelligent lad, starts moving. Maybe it'll be harder to hit him. "Ha! It's like one of those movie shootouts! But colder!" Suddenly, he whips his aim around to fire back at the bear that had just pelted him with a snowball. Sadly, his Snowzooka failed him, and the shot went wide and wild. Hopefully he didn't hit another student! "Aw man, should have know that everything's worse with bears!" There's nothing but laughter in his voice; clearly he's not seriously trying to hurt Arc's feelings.
-
Target-rich environment! Hm. I think I'll go after the Bear! Attack: 11. Bears! *Shakes fist*

Carson handed her his coat almost immediately. To his sensibilities, it was rather toasty in here. Thankfully, just removing the coat helped. "Pretty intelligent way to go about it. So." His expression turned serious as he regarded the door. "What sorts of numbers and age spread are we talking? Anything specific I should know before heading in there?"

Gabriel went stiff as Vigourie cried out that unholy name. His face went blank, before such a visage of fury crossed it that it made his previous anger looks small in comparison. When the Fallen Angel spoke its twisted words and fired its arrow, the layman in white slowly turned to face the beast, leaning his body slightly to one side to let the arrow pass. The energy around his fists returned, crackling with new intensity. Then, he spoke as if with the tongues of men and angels, but his words were not words of love. Not for this being. "Depart, transgressor! Depart, seducer, full of lies and cunning! Foe of virtue, persecutor of the innocent! Give place, abominable creature, give way, you monster, give way to Christ, in whom you found none of your works! For He has already stripped you of your powers and laid waste your kingdom! Bound you prisoner and plundered your weapons! He has cast you forth into the outer darkness, where everlasting ruin awaits you and your abettors! To what purpose do you insolently resist? To what purpose do you brazenly refuse? For you are guilty before almighty God, whose laws you have transgressed! You are guilty before His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, whom you presumed to tempt, whom you dared to nail to the cross! You are guilty before the whole human race, to whom you prof erred by your enticements the poisoned cup of death!" Raw sonic power lashed out, striking the beast head on, once more seeking to turn its armored hide into something softer than the weakest of cloth. "Therefore, I adjure you, profligate dragon, in the name of the spotless Lamb, who has trodden down the asp and the basilisk, and overcome the lion and the dragon, to depart from this city! To depart from the Church of God ! Tremble and flee, as we call on the name of the Lord, before whom the denizens of hell cower, to whom the heavenly Virtues and Powers and Dominations are subject, whom the Cherubim and Seraphim praise with unending cries as they sing: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Sabaoth! The Word made flesh commands you; the Virgin's Son commands you; Jesus of Nazareth commands you, who once, when you despised His disciples, forced you to flee in shameful defeat from a man! And when He had cast you out you did not even dare, except by His leave, to enter into a herd of swine! And now as I adjure you in His name, begone from this place! It is futile to resist His will! It is hard for you to kick against the goad! The longer you delay, the heavier your punishment shall be! For it is not men you are condemning, but rather Him who rules the living and the dead, who is coming to judge both the living and the dead and the world by fire!" With those roaring words, yet another bolt of sound lanced against the unholy flesh of Gabriel's enemy. He then called out to his fellow heroes. "Strike now! Strike now! Strike it, while the iron is hot! Cast this beast from our presence and memory!"

Oh look. It's a demon. Again. The same one, in fact. Switch Array back to Drain Toughness. It worked well last time. 8-) Surging for 2 attacks. Attack: 32. Hm, Natural 20. DC 27 Fort Save for a Rank 12 Drain Toughness. On to the 2nd Attack! Attack: 23. Hey, I just flipped the numbers around. Nifty! Also, another hit. DC 22 Fort Save, Rank 12 Drain Toughness. Spend an HP to negate Fatigue.

Baron Katastrof nods as Supercape expounds on matters a bit. "That's perfectly reasonable, considering what this Lab seems to stand for. I'm less looking to contract out the whole Lab, and more talk to individuals, offer them specific opportunities. I feel I owe it to my companies and fellow shareholders to investigate such things. Though perhaps I'll look into your "insurance" options. Even though I have full confidence in the work I and my employees do." When they entered the Particle Smasher lab, his eyes lit up a bit. Clearly, he was interested in both the machinery, and what it accomplished. "Fascinating. Truly fascinating work here, Supercape. My company has been...exploring...dimensional-related sciences. Though our focus is on the potential of concepts like dark matter, dark energy, and even vacuum energy. We've had some promising leads recently." At Supercape's question, he pursed his lips in thought. "As our name suggests, we are a company that produces cutting-edge technology. We try to diversify within that, with areas focusing on things like materials sciences, alternative energy, bio-mechanics, nanotechnology, as well as a few military projects. The goal with the military projects is on alternative equipment that allows them a wider range of options. Imagine if they could wield devices like Star Trek phasers, where they could harmlessly knock out a rioting crowd? I know some people dislike such talk, but the fact of the matter is, it's a dangerous world out there. I believe in equipping people to better handle that world, on every level. But outside military contracts, we have a few spotlight programs. One is non-gasoline cars that work better than any of the current electric designs; I have a few "testbed" vehicles in my ownership, but cost is still an issue. Then of course-" He stops, and chuckles. "Well. I think that's enough specifics. Suffice to say, we do quite a few things with science and technology. But always responsibly, efficiently, and effectively. My father taught me those ideals..."

CT gives Blake a flat look for a moment. "A gentleman never kisses and tells. I'll let you obsess over what that means for a good long time." He settles back with a simple water in hand, his eyes getting somewhat unfocused, and his mouth curving up into a soft smile. "Really, things are going better than they were before. We sat down and talked a few things out, made sure we were on the same page about important stuff. I think her mom's visit actually helped put that evening in a bit of perspective. Anyways, we went to the art museum the other day, and it was pretty cool. I got to explain a lot of history behind artists and pieces to her, but she had some really deep insight on some of the pieces. We both enjoyed it a lot. Beyond that, we've had a few more "traditional" dates; gone out to eat, seen another movie, hit a couple of scenic places around town. You know, the "standard" stuff. Still kind of figuring some things out, you know?"

Carson's face was impassive as he spoke. "Well. I can see why you wouldn't want to raise a fuss during the wedding; that's not really what it's about and all. For what it's worth, I couldn't tell. And it was a wonderful wedding." He sighed and shook his head. "I think I'll just refrain from comment on the subject, and let your humor slide." He quirked a smile. "That said...congratulations. A girl, you say? Well then. May she not bring you any gray hairs until she's 40." He gives Stesha a wink, then gestures at the plants. "Let's head out. I'll think up a better blessing later on."
-
Carson was idly whistling when Stesha arrived. He turned to greet her...and was speechless for a moment. His eyebrows rose a good distance towards his hairline, but he gave himself a moment before speaking. "Um. Yes, let's shall." He gestured vaguely at her belly. "I...hrm. How to ask this?" He's clearly at a bit of a loss.
-
Carson nodded, then spoke up when he remembered Stesha couldn't see him. "Fair enough. I'll get ready, then give you a call again, and you can come pick me up. Just a couple hops and we'll be there, right? Talk to you in a couple." He was already up and moving towards his room. Though tempted to at least wear the coat typically paired with the rest of his costume, he finally set it aside. Not in the spirit of what Stesha had asked. It was just a short time later that he was bundled up in a couple layers of warm clothing that he called up his plant-controlling friend once more. "Okay, I'm ready to rock and roll. Or at least plant-teleport a couple of times." He looked over at the hardy houseplants in his windowsill, given to him by Stesha herself, "just in case" she ever needed to rush over and drag his injured carcass elsewhere after a bad night of patrolling.
-
Carson relaxes. "Sorry, but after meeting giant fire-breathing bees last time, I'm a bit wary of natives to your planet. Still, I'm glad to hear at least some people survived...Makes me wonder the details of what went on, though." He tapped his chin in thought. "I can do "people skills", for sure. Do you think I should dress casual, or hero?"
-
Magnus nodded as Supercape explained things. Accepting the pass smoothly, he was silent for a few moments. "That fits the information I managed to discover. You seem to have a large variety of specialists here, perhaps more than anywhere but some universities, and perhaps a couple of companies like ArcheTech. Sadly, Katastrof & Sorenson Technologies is a bit more...focused. That said, there are a few areas our concentrations cross paths with some of your top minds. That's one of the reasons I'm here today. For instance, at some point, I hope to speak with one...Miss Americana, I believe it was. I want to discuss her prosthetic limb development program, and see if she likes what we have to offer. I've taken to understand you like to dabble in quantum mechanics, and I have a few things I'd like to speak with you about. The one called "Dragonfly" seems to have some technology I have a personal interest in. Beyond that, I essentially would like to explore possible ways to partner with some of your staff on various projects. I think we have a lot to offer in such an arrangement. While we are not a non-profit organization, I strive to make sure we hold up our reputation as honorable businessmen who help improve the world around them. It's a delicate balance, don't you think? One that too few people see, no matter the country of origin."
-
Corbin looks over the menu for a bit, debating with himself. Finally, he comes to a decision. "I'd like this steak. Yes, this cut. Yes, that one. I'd like it done medium well; plenty tender, but no blood, you know? Yes, that will be fine, thank you." He turns back to his friend. "So. We've kicked butt. We've taken names. We're getting food. Only thing missing is our lady friends."
-
Carson smiled as Stesha proved to be her normal self. "I suppose I'll console myself with the fact I did help out a bit with the ceremony. My compliments to the other musicians, by the way, if you know them personally. Glad to hear the two of you are getting time with each other. I've taken to understand that can be important. If you ever need to really get away, I could always call my folks up and see if there are any little retreats around home that have space. Might do you two good. Probably want to wait a couple months, though." At her mention of survivors on her world, he grew a bit apprehensive. "They're not giant ice-breathing mice, are they?"
-
The Baron gave Supercape a smile back, giving a firm handshake in return. "Please, no need for the full name from now on. Baron Katastrof will be fine." He glanced around at the entrance foyer again. "This place is quite impressive. Am I to understand you had no one company funding and supporting it? It's actually something of a joint effort?"
-
Cobalt Templar kept apologizing as he bumped into people. Finally, he shifted his armor into a cloth outfit not unlike the peacetime outfit of ancient knights; tunic, cloak, pants, and a mask that stretched over the whole top of his head. The only major difference was the color; it was, of course, blue. He shook his head and chuckled, before replying at a similar volume. "Yeah. Somehow, it works, even though you think it would be cheesy. "

The Lab Feb 8th, 2011 The morning was very brisk, but also very clear, as a large limousine pulled up to the front entrance of The Lab. It rolled to a silent stop, the only sound being emitted that of heating fans and the friction of the tires and brakes. Almost as soon as it stopped, a man climbed out of the passenger seat at the very front and marched to the rear. There, he swiftly opened the door. Out stepped a young man in a finely-tailored dark gray suit. His blond hair was immaculate, and he carried a modest leather-bound notebook in one hand. He gave the man holding the car door a smile and nod. "Thank you. If you can't keep the car parked here, feel free to drive around a bit. Maybe you'll see something interesting to visit later on." The other man just gave a smile and a nod as he closed the door behind the well-dressed young man. The chauffeur walked back to his seat at the front, and the car stayed where it was for a moment. Baron Magnus Vilhelm Katastrof sighed and fiddled a bit with his tie, starting towards the door proper. He'd called ahead yesterday to see if this would be alright, but it was still the sort of thing that made one a bit nervous. After all, he was forging completely new ground here. Hopefully, he could at least make some informal connections today, if not some business deals... It was with that thought that he strode through the front doors, slowing his pace a bit as he tried to take in the whole of the grand entrance. "Impressive."

This is a thread for Fenrs/Magnus Katastroff to go visit The Lab, as it has caught his interest after he recently arrived in town. While Supercape is greeting him, this thread is open to any and all regular members of the Lab! :)

Carson quirked an eyebrow for a moment. Why was she tired now? Then he remembered timing. "Tired from last weekend, Stesha? I suppose you were a bit busy giving desperate guys last-minute flower arrangements." He only chuckled a little bit. Then he moved on to his reason for calling. "So, is everything alright otherwise? I'm guessing you and Derrick had a good honeymoon. Was wondering if there was anything you needed help with? Or that he did? I know he stays really busy a lot; if I can help him out somewhere, maybe it'll be good for both of you. Call it a hunch, but I figure I can do something to lend you guys a hand. I felt bad about how small my wedding gift was, but...paychecks were slim because of the holidays. Economy and all that."
-
February 19, 2011 Carson was relaxing from a long, cold week of pulling long days, juggling school and hero work. He was between mentoring positions at the moment, which was honestly fine with him. A small break seemed in order. Maybe he could check up on Stesha? It had been long enough since the wedding that he should be alright if he called her up. Thus, he dialed up her cell phone, intent to see how she was doing. 'I hope she and Derrick had a good honeymoon. I wonder how hero work is going for the two of them?'

Gabriel's expression was still furious, even as Vigourie was restrained by Equinox's magic. Still, he decided it might be better to work on keeping the deceiver from running in some way besides pummeling him unconscious with sound. The energy pouring from his hands ceased, but when he spoke next, Equinox could feel the extra power in his words, even if they weren't aimed at her. "You deceived people for years, Vigourie! You've caused pain, misery, and death wherever you've gone! You're a wretched example of humanity! Now, you are faced with judgment! Repent! Wail! Gnash your teeth! For your sins are piled high for all to see!" He hovers closer to the bound man, now perhaps 10 feet away from him, though still a couple feet off the ground. His hands rest on his hips, and his coat billows in the breeze, and in the wake of his power.
