  1. That works for me; I was meaning to bring up that Walker would be coming into this from the Emerald City side of things rather than CoVic Station.
  2. Carson had been entering grades when suddenly...things weren't quite what they had been. The desk was different, the computer was really different, and none of his things were where they ought to be. And then someone walked in the door. The older man stared for a moment, and Carson was thankful he had the superhuman hearing he did to give him warning. It was the only reason he was standing by the desk instead of sitting behind it. "Who are-" "Sorry, wrong office. Have a good day!" With that, he was off before the professor could object, carefully, smoothly weaving his way through the milling students and staff in the hallways. He was soon outside, walking around the campus of a subtly different and changed Freedom College. It looked cleaner, neater, newer, fresher...but something felt off. It wasn't the buildings, it was the people.. Before long he was navigating the streets, moving smoothly among people, just another guy out on the town. Of course, everyone seemed more...focused...than he'd ever seen Freedom City people. That was just confirmation he was in some other world. And until he knew the lay of the land, he'd have to try and avoid being too overt. Unless things got dicey, at any rate.
  3. Yeah, I'm cool with needing for some punching.
  4. Sun Walker would find it his most estimable honor to assist.
  5. I asked because I was looking to add Gabriel, but we can use one of the others if you're leery of throwing him into the mix.
  6. What's your limit on # of PCs and PL?
  7. ...Please prioritize your own health over posting, for sure! Let us know when you've gotten confirmations, and how your healing process is going!
  8. Judex stopped where he was half-hidden in the shadows, closed his eyes, and sighed. 'Right. Of course. Her. Lord give me strength.' He walked forward with a casual, almost arrogant gait, his arms just swinging at his sides, a smile beaming on his bearded face. He chuckled a bit. "Fancy seeing you here! Like attracts like, one supposes." He lets her bust the door down before moseying onward to glance inside, keeping his hands clear to see what the scene was like.
  9. Judex had slunk in largely unnoticed, even by the others. He wasn't overly remarkable, even in this form. Just another dirty white boy, really. He used that to his advantage, combined with his natural confidence to just walk in the direction he picked, referencing a couple of smudgy maps to try and make his way toward what seemed to be the offices in the museum. It would only make sense the podcast was recorded in a museum office...

  11. Will was glad for the helmet as he blushed at the compliment, especially since he was in front of several younger, attractive ladies. Yes one of them totally had a thing with his buddy Elias even if they both swore they didn't, but still. Principles. "Well, I was about to ask you what it was, but since you don't know, I got nothin', Thaelia." He shifted nervously. "That said, my guess is that it's potentially behind some of these shenanigans. Is there a way for us to go take a look inside the spooky giant glowing skull ship? Better to do it now. And you know I can get myself in all sneaky-like."
  12. "It depends on who you ask, Cannonade." Gabriel hadn't had a chance to do much during the fight, the others reacting so swiftly and with such...energy...that the sound-controller had ended up being something of a rear guard. He was now kneeling near the corpse, his outfit carefully held so as to not gather up any blood. "This looks to have been one of the....well, I don't know if I'd say 'more friendly', but 'less monstrous' sorts of unicorns. The kind you hear about prancing around near virgins and decorating children's notebooks. But...well. As I said earlier, things are never what they seem with the Fae." He stood, his spear still shedding light around them. "As for the things we fought...considering the prey they may have tracked in times past, I cannot stir much sympathy in my heart." Which is kind of surprising for anyone who has heard of Gabriel at all. "Woodsman is right. We should keep moving. These beings were not the source of this...intrusion."
  13. Thoughtspeed's body language had gone very still when the lady, who was apparently a Federal agent of some kind, mentioned having an "interest" in Elias. Beyond the general unease at the idea of them following his friend so closely, Will knew Elias had some...concerns...about outside parties trying to keep tabs on him, and the more folks who knew what he might be up to, the worse that situation could, would, get. Thankfully, she didn't stick around, and she had given them some useful information. A lead! And then Thaelia tossed a sea-monkey wrench in the mood. Thoughtspeed sighed. "I think they're going to an art gallery or something, not a movie theater. And we're going there on hero business, no tickets needed." He glanced toward his parents. "Right?"
  14. Gabriel gets a 24 on his Arcane Lore check to figure out what may or may not be a "thing" with this unicorn.
  15. Hopes and prayers that everything goes well during the operation itself, Olopi, and that you have a swift and smooth recovery! For my part, I'm going to be out of town from tomorrow to Monday, and unlikely to be able to contribute posts of any substance.
  16. Will frowned at the image, though it was in thought instead of anger. He sent his thoughts to his parents and his friend. --I...I think Errant mentioned seeing a woman like that before. I...don't remember anything else. Sorry.-- He shrugged helplessly at that, not sure what else to say to that.
  17. "I don't see you two forcing your child to do anything, Mark. I'm sure that'll go just fine. You'll probably be too busy with all the regular kid stuff to worry about them becoming a hero." He took a few bites and chewed thoughtfully before continuing. "So...how quiet will the ceremony in the City be? Compared to the...formal ceremony?" Corbin's looks belied his age, and while he would never quite be the master of subtlety some of his friends were, he could pick up on at least some of the implications in the idea of Mark and Nina getting married in the Great Mosque. Few of the implications were that enjoyable.
  18. Normally, Judex wouldn't be out on a regular patrol at this time of day. While Theo preferred to not stay up all night as his rough-and-tumble alter ego, he typically waited until after sunset to unleash his somewhat harsher self. But after hearing the abrupt end of the podcast, and with all the dreams he'd been having, well. He thought it'd be rude toward Uriel if he just ignored the whole mess. Use the talents you're given, and all that. So here he was, hunched on a roof overlooking the museum, hidden in the shadows, an irregular shape that was thoroughly uninteresting. And now two people coming to the museum, so close to the end of the day. Or rather, one of them (looked to be a man) arriving proper, and another following him in? Hm. He got up slowly from where he'd been crouched, and started looking for a place to hop to the museum's roof...
  19. I need to figure out why people tagging me in threads isn't actually tagging me...anyway. Let's see what's up...
  20. Will didn't glance back at the Queen, but his head did nod, even as faint green light began to glow on his body. "I'd be more than happy to, ma'am. I'm a big fan of grandmothers and it would be an honor to escort Thaelia's grandmother anywhere. I do hope your conversation is productive." His helmet shifted a bit, as if he was looking right at the man sneering at him. "In case you're wondering, yes, you have something in your teeth. Looks green to me."
  21. Will had taken the offered glass of water with a muttered "Thank you", and was sipping it carefully as the Atlanteans turned the television on. It all seemed pretty normal, until the King went crazy. "So, Thaelia, your dad summon up super-ultra-mega-death sharks often?" And then he was casually standing next to the Queen, arms sloppily crossed over his chest, now-helmeted head tilted to one side. "I've heard of domestic disputes, but come on guys. She's the Queen. Surely she can go ask her husband a few questions? I thought you folks were pretty gender-equal under the sea? Also, seriously, 'surface guest', come on at least call me the annoying boy or something!" -Thaelia what the HELL is going on?- rang through Glamazon's mind with rather more urgency and anxiety than the young man's cocky words suggested.
  22. Thoughtspeed nods at Glamazon. -Try to stick with code names. We've got a bunch of thugs tied up and no cops yet. Sorry if the mind-speak startled you. I'll talk you through the directions there.- With that, he zipped off again, sending Thaelia quick bursts of mental information and instructions to help guide her to the building. When they reached it, he stopped outside, looking up for a moment. He turned to Thaelia and spoke aloud. "See you up near the top, shouldn't be hard, just watch where I go." Then he ran up the side of the building and into a busted-out window, skidding to a stop inside the room as he took stock of it.
