  1. Sorry for delays. The new format, especially on mobile, makes it hard to track things. I will try to get a response up today.
  2. Suddenly, Terrifica, Glamazon, Phantasmo, and Rampart felt something at the back of their minds that they somehow knew linked them to Thoughtspeed and their fellow heroes. It was like being on a conference call while having a phone vibrate the back of your head. No pain, not necessarily uncomfortable, but not normal, either. They heard/felt/sensed Thoughtspeed's words. --Please just think your words from now on. Do not worry this doesn't let me read thoughts that you don't actively send over the link. Do not refer to me as a "dog" again, Terrifica, metaphor or no. I will begin assisting with navigation in a moment. First I need to redirect enemy forces from Rampart.-- In a blur of motion he was next to the Racer that had wounded Cho, his hands filled with simple gladii of blazing green energy. Without a spoken word, he wove a complicated attack pattern that feinter and probed and struck a couple dozen times in an eyeblink, landing several solid blows. For all his displeasure none of them would be enough to draw much blood or worse; unlike Racer he sought to stop and disable not maim and kill.
  3. Doing this on a phone so forgive sloppiness. Thoughtspeed will activate his Mental Communication in full, but only keep his fellow heroes "in the loop". But everyone should be able to talk to everyone else without him having to relay the messages, if I understand the current setup of my power. He will move over to the Racer who stabbed Cho successfully, activating his Twin Blades power in that array as he moves. He will then make a Melee Attack: Dice Roller • Orokos.com 14, which isn't enough. Hero Point to re roll. Dice Roller • Orokos.com 19, but with re roll, that is a 29. DC 26 Toughness Save, plus as much Autofire as possible.
  4. Okay, so looking better, but a couple of things to note. His Defense/Toughness balance looks good. But his Attack/Damage is off. Not even counting a Strike Power, he has +12 Damage and +11 Attack, which makes him more of a PL 12. When you add his Attack Bonus and Damage Bonus and divide by 2, it needs to equal his Power Level. So it could be 10 and 10, like his Defense/Toughness. Or 12 and 8. Or 15 and 5. 11 and 9. Etc. But as it stands, it's too much. Further, with his Strength being so high, adding on the Strike on top of that pushes him to the point of having Damage equal to a Damage-Shifted PL 15-20! +22 Damage is way too high; we max out at PL 15, and allow a maximum of +/- 5 Tradeoff, meaning the highest Damage you can get is +20. With that said, you have a couple options here. There are 2 fairly easy ways to "bypass" Caps: the feats that shift your bonuses (Power Attack, Accurate Attack, All-Out Attack, etc), and Autofire. What you could do, as an example, is have +10 Melee Attack, a +10 Strength modifier, and then pay 10PP to add Autofire to that Damage Bonus. Per our House Rules you only get the 1st rank of Autofire, so you'd have the potential for a maximum of +5 damage if you bypass the enemy's defense by 10. If you took the Power Attack feat on top of that, theoretically (aka if the dice love you and the enemy has a low Defense), you could get +5 Power Attack, +5 Autofire, and +10 base Damage, for +20, for a Toughness Save DC of 35. But that takes a lot of luck. It's awesome when it happens, but it's rare. I would say for the "full power Stingers", just buy Power Attack. Or buy up Autofire. You could also pay no extra PP and make the Stun and Paralyze Linked to his Unarmed. As well, you could look at giving them the Flaws that limit their maximum impact, which lets you get 10 ranks and a DC 20 save, albeit while sacrificing the ability to possibly KO an opponent. But on the flip side it would let you have a better shot of slowing them down and "debuffing" them, so it's your call there. I think the Stingers could be represented by just having those 2 powers, and representing "Full Power" by way of Power Attack, and possibly one or two other tradeoff feats. As far as formatting goes, my personal suggestions, though these are by no means commands or the like, would be a couple of things. -For the flavor descriptions, do like this: Super Senses 2: (Extended Hearing 1, Infravision) [2PP] ("Cyborg Senses") This way, it's clear what the power is (Super Senses), what specifically it gives you (Extended Hearing 1, Infravision), how much it costs ([2PP]), and what fluff you're justifying it with (Cyborg Senses). You should probably also give the powers a Descriptor or two, like Technology or the like. Electrical for the Stun and Paralyze on the Stingers, mayhaps? You could, if you like, use a Container to encapsulate all the non-costume/armor powers, and call it something like "Cybernetic Body X.X", where "X.X" is the total number of PP in the container divided by 5. I personally probably like Containers almost too much, but for an idea of what I mean, take a look at Thoughtspeed and Sun Walker. Thoughtspeed has a couple of Arrays, and they both have a few various Containers that help me describe and encapsulate various powers they possess. To me it's a nice way to record-keep, as well as to inject a bit of flavor via the Container names. Descriptors are important for things like resistance, vulnerability, nullify, etc. Also, try playing around with our Device and Array tags. They're really nice for organization and such. Device X (stuff) [device]More stuff[/device] Array X (stuff) [array]power 1 power 2[/array] EDIT: Annnnd apparently the IPS upgrade broke our Device and Array tags, my apologies. :-/
  5. Sadly for Ami he had kept his cape draped about his person. But he's certainly not an ugly man, that's for certain. Unless the mask hides burns... "<She is likely using his father for his money as much as anything. She may continue trying to gather more bamboozled men to her flock. See what you can find out.>" At her comment of heroes "accumulating", he tilted his head just a bit. "<...Indeed.>" Ami probably missed the split-second where his cheeks had a bit of color flood into them at her smile. He was swooshing and gone from the room in a few moments. It didn't take him long to find and enter the room with the other thief and the other two girls. He spoke softly, keeping one eye turned toward the young man. "Endeavor, when you have a moment, I'd like to speak with you, if you could please."
  6. What nationality is this dude, again? It looks like the girl called him "daddy" in Slovak. Just wondering if Alek could say something in Georgian or Romanian and have her understand it.
  7. The boy's words only made Nevermore more cautious. Someone who had encountered the first Raven, but was still hale and hearty enough to run about and mind-control people? And was obsessed with the Headmaster to boot? This was very much not a good situation. He spoke softly to Ami in French. "<I must make a call. I may know someone who can give us more information about this Samantha Cline.>" He turned and walked to the far side of the office, pulling out a very high-end-looking device that looked vaguely like a large smartphone...except for the floating holograph. He plugged it into a slot on his gauntlet that he had just pulled a small panel away from, then put a hand to his ear. Ami could hear that he was talking but not make out the words, and the hologram seemed undecipherable from her position. The young crime-fighter spoke a few words, then seemed to listen. About halfway through said listening, she saw him go just a bit straighter and stiffer, standing up just a bit more. Finally the conversation wrapped up, he stowed the "smartphone", and he walked back over. His face (what she could see of it) was sent in a grim, angry frown. "<He has been controlled. Samantha Cline is Luna Moth. An old villain, a foe of the Raven from the days of old, who once used technology. But recently was mutated. She was, is, fixated on the original Raven. Likely delusional, from what this kid is saying. Unfortunately, Raven is unavailable at this time to assist in tracking her down and stopping her. I will go speak with Endeavor in a moment to determine if she is available. I may have to ply other resources to find others able and willing to assist on short notice. But I do not believe someone as wily, crazy, and powerful as Luna Moth can be left unchecked.>" Of course, Nevermore likely didn't know Ami, or at least not enough to connect her to Claremont or what her powers were. It sounded like he could use some backup, though!

  9. You don't need the brackets around skill names or rank numbers, and you don't need an R for ranks. Here is the format: Computers 4 (+8) That is someone with 4 ranks in the Computers skill and a +4 Intelligence mod, given by an 18 Intelligence score. Feats don't need brackets either. Ranged Attack Bonus would be +4. Caps and meeting them is not quite an ironclad Rules As Written but it might as well be. If you aren't meeting caps for your chosen Power Level it will cause you, and honestly anyone in a thread with you, to be frustrated if you took a Power Level 10 slot but built a Power Level 7 caps character who just had a broader skill base or the like, that could work. Also, no reason to have odd-numbered ability scores. Might save a couple points there. P.S.: Just saw the character is from Kansas City. Extra mad props for that.
  10. On my phone so I can't give a detailed reply, but off hand, his attack and his defense don't meet caps. He has the Defense of a PL 5, or someone who is fully Toughness-shifted. But his Toughness is only +10. He either needs more Defense, or more Toughness. Going by his inspiration I would suggest he either go 10 and 10, or may 8 and 12 (for the highest trade-off) for Defense and Toughness, respectively. His Base Attack is 0 and his Melee is 2, but I don't even see ranks of attack specialization. I would suggest getting at least about 3-4 Base Attack, and then buy up to 8 Melee via Attack Specialization. EDIT: Fluff looks great to me though. And I approve of Kamen Rider homages on general principle, especially when properly filtered for Western comics like you did here. Henshin-a-go-go, man!
  11. Could I burn a Hero Point to gain Contacts long enough to justify just calling Raven and asking her about who Samantha Cline is? (FYI will be spotty on posting ability over the weekend.)
  12. It hadn't been locked. In a fluid motion, Nevermore had opened the door, slipped inside, and closed it again, the door hinges making a few whispers lost in the pounding bass from below, his own feet making even less noise. He whirled then, his cape flaring without him even really trying, the lenses of his mask still holding a faint glow even as the night vision apparatus quickly faded out in favor of normal vision. Those blank, soulless eyes stared at the teenaged girl on the bed. Some part of his hind-brain that he ruthlessly crushed in the ticks between seconds noted that she was fairly good-looking. Before she had a chance to scream, he was across the room in a flutter of memory cloth and a rustle of armor plates and ballistic fabric. One arm smoothly grabbed the hand closer to the security remote, firmly guiding it to settle at her side, but not with enough force to hurt her. His other hand landed firmly over her mouth. He brought his face within a few inches of her own face and spoke calmly and slowly, as if ordering a pizza on a late study night. "I am not here to bring you harm. But I cannot allow you to raise the alarm. So here is what we are going to do. I am going to begin to let you go. If you stay calm and simply sit back and do not attempt to raise any alarm, I will leave you be. I am not here for you. If you attempt to fight, or raise an alarm, I will render you unconscious with all due haste but no permanent harm, then put restraints on you before placing you someplace quiet and out of the way. I would rather you just sit quietly with your hands free and your head clear. Would you not prefer the same? I am about to release your mouth. If you speak quietly, that will remain the case. If you try to scream, I will muffle it, and render you unconscious. Again, if you cooperate, I will cease bodily contact with you and leave you be in this rom." He waited a moment, then began inching his hand around her mouth away. At any moment, he was ready to snap it back across her mouth. But so long as she either stayed quiet or spoke at a normal or softer volume (which shouldn't be heard amidst the noise downstairs), he would leave her be. Well, and so long as she didn't go for panic buttons or phones or the like.
  13. How about this: 29. I AM THE NIGHT.
  14. Nevermore's mouth moved very, very slightly. Into a pale shadow of a frown. What the boy was saying was...not encouraging. "No. Not the Raven. Just work for her." Perhaps not entirely shocking, all things considered, but an interesting tidbit. Then again, most all the police and other law enforcement in the city knew that, or had a superior who understood that. He took a single step forward toward the boy and settled himself, that cape of his disguising much of his form. "How does Same know the Raven? Did she say? And what's her full name?"
  15. Hm. What would you want from me if I moved in (door closed behind me), ran over, put my hand over her mouth and restrain her, and told her to stay calm or she'd be knocked out and restrained (aka tied up/handcuffed)? Basically going for a mix of intimidate, knock out, and discourse. He doesn't like the idea of knocking her out, but he also doesn't trust her to not just scream. So he's going to try hedging his bets a bit. That make sense?
  16. "<I do, yes. And thank you, I suppose.>" Nevermore didn't think it would be wise to say "I am not a native-born citizen of this country" out loud in this context. Secret identities and all that. "<Though you are perhaps a bit too harsh; I have not observed a majority of tourists truly think that. There are obnoxious people in all countries. Even France.>" The slight smile on his face suggests good enough humor he'd have winked at her. Except for, you know, the eye covers. He pondered talking to Boss Lady about a way to get them to retract or go transparent or something. Might help dealing with non-combatants. As Ami began speaking to the now-awakening prisoner, Nevermore fell silent and tried to remain still, simply observing the clumsy teenaged thief.
  17. Happy Birthday, Shaen!
  18. The armored vigilante had given a non-committal grunt when Ami observed things could be "complicated". "Complicated may be understatement." He'd followed the whole "posse" to the offices, finding himself standing next to some of the chairs, unsuccessfully trying to loom in a brightly lit and well-furnished office area. There just weren't enough shadows to really pull it off, though he was certainly still a somewhat imposing figure. He turned his head just a bit when Ami spoke more French at him. "<Yes, I do not practice my French as often as some of my other languages, so the accent remains. I learned it...>" Inside his well-guarded mind, brief images of classrooms carved from rock and smelling of sweat and blood and fear flashed through his thoughts before being shoved back into his mind-vault and securely locked away. "<It was not a public facility, and is no longer active. I am sure you would not have heard of it.>"
  19. Well, I'm not the best costume designer around here, but offhand my only suggestion would be a bit of something on the lower torso-ish. Not necessarily outside-undies, but maybe a simple pattern right above the belt to break up the black a bit more. Otherwise I think it works really well. Son, grandson, amusement remains. As for overlap, not really. You're free to scope out Quo-Dis's sheet in the NPC forum but this guy's different enough that's not a big deal, and the potential family drama is absolutely hilarious to me. Fair enough on all points. I think it's really solid all around. I think this guy or Thrude could be fun, either way.
  20. Basically trying to slip into the room with the girl unnoticed until he's in there, with a strong suspicion he'll have to dash over and keep her quiet or even knock her out before he can start man-handling the security remote. Let me know what, if any, rolls you want, though I feel compelled to remind you that if it matters he did get a sheet upgrade recently so some numbers won't be the same. Or we can not worry too much about it.
  21. Nevermore couldn't help but quirk his head a bit (in a gesture that some might find ironically bird-like) at the poster for the horribly cheesy Raven move. He couldn't help but use the small camera on his high-powered hand device to snap a few shots, including a couple of that very poster. 'Boss Lady and Boss Man should get a kick out of this.' Or scold him, but either way the photos would be worth it. He considered his options for rooms. The locked room was tempting, but he needed to change the game up a bit more, or find a way to divert and distract the guards. He kept his eyes open for any video cameras as he eyed the rooms across the hall. The locked room probably had "important files". The darkened rooms were likely bedrooms...as was the lit room. Risky, but considering the occupant wasn't entirely happy, and was in possession of a remote that gave him lots of interesting possibilities, was probably better than wasting time rooting around in dark rooms. With a few quick steps he was across the hall, and at the door. He pondered things for a moment before placing himself where he could gently open the door enough to slip inside without being seen until already having entered. Then, he oh-so-gently tried the knob. If it wasn't locked...
  22. Nevermore decided that now was not the time to re-attempt hacking the computers. And staying down here to try and ambush guards would eventually backfire; there were enough of them that the limited room and limited entrances meant he wouldn't have enough options if it came down to a full-bore fight. So instead, it was time to reposition. Within moments, he was heading up the stairs he had entered the cellar by, quickly ascending them and opening the door with a bit more speed, albeit still using a fair bit of care. He closed it after himself and kept low to the ground, his eyes peeled for any trouble spots. Assuming there weren't suddenly legions of guards all over the lawn, he would move to where he had a clear grapnel shot at the balcony he'd seen earlier. It wasn't ideal, but he knew the kitchen had people, and he knew there were multiple gun-toting guards in the area close to the front door. But the upper stories seemed less occupied. So it was that he lined up his arm with the balcony and fired out a grapnel line, before using the rapid-ascent motor in his gauntlet to zip through the air and grab hold of said ledge, pulling himself up onto it with both speed and stealth.
  23. Sun Walker actually gave a rather undignified snort of amusement at the remark about speaking like a smug god. "It can be distressing how often those criteria are a good indicator of which person or being in front of you is in need of being struck with violence. Though considering our opposition, I think them screaming the word "commune" would suffice as well." His eyes went distant for a moment as he recalled the fight with the Father of Monsters, and the abomination he had become at the end of their fight.
  24. Digging the costume's look. I'm enjoying the whole "mixed-race son of Superior" thing. I would be correct in guessing you mean Prime's Superior, yes? If so, that makes things extra fun, since that would make him the half-brother of Ultiwoman, and the (soon to be maybe depending on when we get around to it) half-brother-in-law of Cobalt Templar! Build seems pretty solid, offhand. Pretty straightforward blasty Kryptonian type, really. I'm guessing you're looking to expand Telepathy to more than 1 power later on? Since right now, it's technically an Array but can't "switch" to anything?
  25. Gabriel gave a polite nod of his head to the guard, speaking to her in the native language (thanks to his powers). "At this time none of them will be leaving. I am merely speaking with them to find the truth." With that he turned and walked into the room, giving the various passengers comforting smiles and nods. He then looked toward the two scientists and noticed their expressions. His face kept its smile up, but the scientists might notice his eyes growing a bit less friendly as he made a subtle gesture for them to come over and speak with him while he finished making his way to the crew of the plane. He waited until the scientists were with him before speaking softly, his voice only readily heard by the scientists, the pilot, and a couple other crew members. "Is there something that I and my comrades should be aware of regarding the nature of this device and the intent of the plane's path before it went down?" He seems perhaps slightly perturbed to be that direct.
