  1. Nevermore just kept a firm grip as he skidded back across the ground, flexing his knees a bit to stay stable. He made no sound when the man looked back at him in fear. He simply stood there, existing. When the man told him to call Thaelia off, he hummed thoughtfully. "Not her boss. Can't really tell her what to do. Maybe you should ask the lady politely not to hit you again and then go on and tell us everything." When the man wasn't looking, Nevermore gave Glamazon a smirk. Clearly he thought the routine was working wonderfully.
  2. Nevermore hadn't missed the shifting of her feet. It just made him smile a bit; not a mocking smirk, but one of admiration. He gave her an inclination of his head. "Vous êtes les bienvenus, manquer. Cependant, je suis d'Raven pas la Chouette. Je suis connu comme Nevermore." He would have winked, but the eyepieces kind of killed that. He turned as the conversation went to a discussion of the thieves. He considered what Casey said, and the seemingly crazed behavior displayed by the two, and frowned. Which was a bit intimidating in his getup. "That sort of crazed infatuation and single-mindedness...it suggests they may have had their minds tampered with."
  3. Notice vs DC 20: 24.
  4. Alek raised an eyebrow at how...informal...the meeting had felt. He'd been under the impression this was pretty official business, but they weren't even rushing them to get moving! Though the fact he still didn't have much in the way of information didn't help. He raised an eyebrow after Tendaji left but made no verbal comment. Instead he took to clearing up the last few bites of his food, washing it down with some water, and wiping a couple of crumbs away with his napkin before standing. "Don't feel too rushed, Cho. It sounds like we've got at least a bit. I'll go down there now; we'll be waiting for you." With that, he followed after the direction Tendaji and Thaelia had gone, angling through the crowd to reach the car and the young woman standing beside it.
  5. I will do what I can to make updates in the next couple of weeks to the front page but to be blunt don't expect it to be a high priority for me for a while.
  6. You could say that Nevermore just....scrubbed the floor with him.
  7. Nevermore saw the man's charge coming. As far as those around him could tell, he barely moved. Ami and some of the mall guards (depending on their experience) might catch what looked like boots under the cape shifting slightly. Which is why when the unarmored but eager young thief hit him, Nevermore didn't so much as grunt or shift his position at all. He just stood there, a glowering, inhuman head with eyes oh god eyes without anything but white the eyes above a shapeless mass of a body glaring down at him. When he spoke, there was a slightly inhuman rasp to it. "That. Was a mistake." His cape flared out, arms clad in dark armor shot out fast as snakes, and suddenly the white bag was falling to the ground, but was caught by one of those hands, while the other was doing something to twist the thief's wrists together for a few moments. The bag was set down, the cape obscured things for a moment, there were a couple of distinctly un-manly cries of pain, and then the man-shaped shadow drew back, the cape-thing revealing the bag-snatcher restrained with zip ties around his wrists and ankles, his eyes unfocused in pain (and possibly a couple of nerve strikes). The dark hero gave the guards a respectful nod, giving them the space to take over the capture of the young man, while Nevermore himself turned and walked over to Ami. At first it made no sense why the avenger of the innocent would be doing so, but then he stopped and held out the slightly battered white bag. "Hope nothing's broken. Tried to be gentle with it." More than he can say for the thief. His face is both expressionless and grim, but his voice is slightly less raspy, so he's clearly at least trying to be nice and friendly.
  8. Rav, given no post here and the way things are playing out right now IC I'm going to guess you don't want/need rolls from me to stop Mr. McThiefPants. I'll go ahead and narrative up his response. I can always add rolls later.
  9. Initiative: 29. Silly super scientist being faster than the speedster! As for non-sight powers:
  10. Sun Walker was quiet for a minute before replying. "If ultimately stealth won't work at all, perhaps we should rely on speed and overwhelming power. Individually we are potent, and together perhaps we can overcome any defenders we encounter, so long as we move rapidly. Which I believe all of us are capable of doing. Within that suggestion, we stick with the loose framework of a formation suggested earlier?" He gave the group a look that pretty clearly communicated his uncertainty.
  11. Most days like this, Alek would have been at home with his parents, or at Claremont studying, or maybe training at the Rookery. But he had had an "itch" today to do extra patrols. And while Raven and Nevermore were generally beings of the night, his Boss wanted him to be his own hero and not just a sidekick. So he'd been driving around when he caught a radio blast about a disturbance at the mall. Now, purse napping and the like were typically not his focus, but all jokes about "mall cops" aside, recent history made him wary of just ignoring it. So it was that in front of the man being chased by a line of guards and Ami, a dark shape dropped out of seemingly nowhere and resolved into an intimating figure with inhuman white eyes and a flowing cloak that hid his shape. For the moment, he simply stood in the way of the fleeing bag-snatcher, as if his mere presence might command the thief to stop!
  12. Just FYI posting will continue to be a bit spotty from me for a while. Will do my best though.

  14. Nevermore heard all the others making boasts or asking if someone was hiding in the shadows. He really really hoped, for the sake of his fellow students, none of them rose to the bait of saying "I'm hiding!" or the like. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Miss Grue phasing in and out of tangibility and sending out super-long stretchy arms. He wasn't sure how that would interact with the simulation of a full-size city in the reality of a much smaller and defined room. He preferred to not find out the hard way and get tagged too soon. So he kept moving around things; slight cheater or no, he wasn't just going to stop and yell it out! He already didn't know where Endeavor and Glamazon were, beyond vague ideas; he didn't want to give them any advantage. Normally he'd try the rooftops himself, but he resolved to not use grapnels or his glider cape until someone made an even more blatant use of powers and tools. Boss Lady would be proud he was taking his training so seriously. So he kept dashing and ducking about, though by now he had slowed his pace a bit and was trying to concentrate on being stealthy as well as gaining distance.
  15. Aleksander smiled, stood up, and offered Tendaji his hand to shake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Tendaji. You can call me Aleksander." The local could hear the slightly non-American spelling in how he said it, just a bit of Eastern European sneaking into the boy's speech, unconsciously. After the handshake, Alek reached down and put his bag on his shoulder, giving the man a politely curious eyebrow raise. "May we ask where we will be going and who we will be meeting? I am sure the matter is sensitive enough you do not wish to fully disclose it here, but I just want to make sure we've got our itinerary straight."
  16. I had a busy day yesterday. But as I'm still not really set on an idea, move the action forward. I can do "dramatic vigilante entrance" better than "Robin slips to the mall bathroom to change".
  17. Gabriel just let himself roll a bit as he moved aside from the pathetic creature's attack. He used subtle "bursts" of his sonic power to orient himself as best as he could (still cursing the lack of orienting gravity). He spread his legs out a bit and bent them at the knee, using the slight amounts of thrust he was generating to provide a (poor) substitute for a solid surface under his feet. He raised his empty hand and loosed another barrage of sound at his target. Once more, his bolts of invisible sonic force struck true. He then reached up and activated his communicator. "This is Gabriel. Just finished the last drone in my area. Where do you need me next?"
  18. One antibody left for him... So, again, doing an All-Out Attack for 4, taking 10 vs the Antibody. Should give me +1 Autofire after the -4 from 0-gravity.
  19. Tagging. Trying to decide how to slot Nevermore in to a "being at the mall" scene.
  20. Gabriel gave a frustrated sigh as the remaining two drones turned and "ran" away from him. Had they been mortal, he would have taken it as a sign of fear. As things stood, he took it as a sign of shifting tactics. He did not enjoy getting close to the metallic monstrosities, but better him than some of the unpowered and untrained technical staff of the Lighthouse. With but a thought he was moving through the air, squinting his eyes a bit before finally closing them entirely as he navigated with his superhuman sense of hearing, helping him move about like a bat or a dolphin might. Which was why when he went through the doorway, he simply raised his right arm and plastered the drone there with another sonic barrage. "A good effort, but insufficient."
  21. Herp, right, sorry. EDIT: Also I reread the last action with him and it looks like they tried to be sneaky-sneaky since it's dark. But he could just fly after them, and with his Echolocation he can "see" in pitch black conditions, so unless they scuttled into vents or something he can just waste one of them after going through the doorway.
  22. Uh...It's an All-Out Attack. So it's +4 to Attack, -4 to Defense. So the attack would be a 26. Moot point overall, but worth pointing out.
  23. All-Out Attack for 4 on the one on his right. Take 10 on the attack. That should trigger one or two points of Autofire off the base DC 27 (as that would be....26 to hit).
  24. Thoughtspeed gave her a smile and a shrug at the question. "Because it's the right thing to do." With a quick twitch of his head in a particular way, his helmet re-deploys and he's zipping around the room, stopping at various points, clearly trying to see what bits of evidence or the like he can pick up. Cho will hear his voice in her mind, perhaps sounding a bit more high-pitched, as if talking on fast-forward. --And because I wanted to. We've rarely seen eye-to-eye, Cho. Probably won't ever change. But we've both been through some ****. I'm not saying we'll ever be besties, though, hey, world's a strange and exciting place. But if nothing else I'd like to try and at least be friends. And friends help friends get through **** like this. Also, uh, please don't tell my mom I used those words. She'd give me an earful.-- Cho can, somehow, hear the reproachful smile on his face, despite the featureless helmet.
