As soon as Joe was reaching for the light bulb, Nevermore moved. The young hero was a shadow, a wraith in the night. Or in this case, the poorly-lit basement. As the syllables were leaving Joe's mouth, Nevermore snaked one arm up and around his neck, choking his airflow, making it difficult to breath or speak. His other armor whipped under and in front of one of Joe's arms, making it difficult to move the arm at all, and the hand of that arm slapped over the hire-a-thug's mouth, muting any further protests. An armored greave struck each of the larger man's knees in turn, collapsing his legs and cutting resistance even as his muffled struggles continued. Without even getting another word out, Joe was dragged away from the light and behind a large crate, deep in the shadows.

Initiative Roll: 20. Gonna nab the guy, cover his mouth, chokehold, stealth takedown, etc etc. -
There were days Corbin Hughes found hero work tiring and unrewarding. Or even boring. This was not going to be one of those days. After all, "most days" didn't involve getting to punch a Tyrannosaurus Rex in the face. And even better, he was going to do it in style. "Hey! Scaleface! How about you and me tango!" A large armored man in blue with red accents slammed to the ground a couple of blocks in front of the ancient predator, somehow still managing to not even nick the pavement in his dramatic landing. He stood up, and those close enough (or with high-powered lenses on their cameras) could see he was smiling like a maniac. The hero, one Cobalt Templar, threw his arms out to the side and gave a big, hearty, belly laugh. "Time to wrestle, big guy!" As he spoke he was running forward, and as he was running forward, his form was shrouded in flames that flared up around him before swirling and revealing the form of a giant blue gorilla. Maybe not as giant as the T-Rex, but this gorilla was clad in medieval-style armor, so that probably counted for something. The gorilla-construct gave a roar and showed its teeth as it charge forward, now using all four limbs.

Sun Walker seemed unperturbed by Geckoman's antics, at least on the outside. Instead, he seemed to opt for a bit of exercise. Right now, his tail had reached up and curled around the grab bar above his head, and he was performing pull-ups with just his tail, somehow managing to even keep his body mostly upright and in the lotus position, such that the only moving part of him was his tail, which gave him an odd sort of floating/bobbing appearance. His eyes remained closed, though his hands were now palm-down on his knees and gripping them slightly, showing that the exercise took at least a slight bit of effort, for the balance if nothing else. "I am not a tactician or seasoned warrior. But it would seem to me that, perhaps, myself, Geckoman, and Argonaut should lead the way? We are all better-suited to fighting in close, while Hronos and Cavalier watch our backs? None of us look to be, ah, "slouches" in the area of hand-to-hand, but that formation suggests itself offhand, at least. Unfortunately I have yet to master silent and hidden movements in enemy territory, so I am afraid I will be a limited liability for any stealth portions of our mission." He suddenly opened his eyes and looked at the others present, seemingly abashed. "That is to say, those are my thoughts and suggestions. I am not a trained tactician, and do not wish to seem pushy. I am merely offering my thoughts on the matter. My sincerest apologies if there is a greater plan in motion already. I simply wish to help in whatever way I can." Hence him turning in a couple weeks of vacation and being on a plane in space driven by a crazy man. And with a sealed message kept with the on-planet Freedom League in case he doesn't return.

"I will see what I can do to convince him of that. If I can catch him." Now on a more even keel, Aleksander's own smile in return was more subdued, but very genuine, and left a bit of a sparkle in his eyes for a moment. It dropped away, but it was clearly more from the change of discussion topic than a sudden mood swing or the like. "I believe that sounds like an excellent plan. I'll talk to my Boss to make sure we can adjust my job training with her to accommodate the meetings. I have a feeling she will thoroughly approve, though. And I'll be sure to call, yes."

Meanwhile, at the decidedly less awkward bonfire, Cobalt Templar was helping keep the crowd in good spirits, amusing some of the children with various blue energy constructs. At the moment he had whipped up a couple of those plastic food-driven cars, but done up like the Flintstones vehicles (not that many of the kids got the reference, but their parents had a laugh or two). The blue-clad hero was now sporting fanciful "cowboy" getup, complete with a big, heavy blue duster and a big blue cowboy hat. He chuckled and waved at a couple of kids having fun while their parents roasted marshmallows, then moved over to Cannonade, Edge, and Monsoon in a deliberately casual way. When he got close to them, he kept the smile on his face while he talked in low tones. "We did good out here, but we need to keep sharp. I got a glimpse of some of the stuff going on in orbit and it's a bit hairy. It looks under control right now, but we may end up needing to do fire-fighting elsewhere. Just thought I'd give you all a head's-up on that."

Well if it involves Cho, the most obvious choices to me are Nevermore and Thoughtspeed. Thoughtspeed being involved could be extra-fun.

"Magnesium would have been less than ideal. At least as something for you to turn into, Meatheral." He wasn't wearing all black but the monkey-man could be a ninja if he wanted. He stood there, his arms crossed like someone tucking them into loose sleeves, though he lacked sleeves of any sort right now. "While in theory flammability would be helpful, in practice this is a less-ideal property when the fuel for said fire is your own mass. Turning into pure flame, though less sensible from a scientific perspective, is safer in that you are less likely to burn yourself up, as it were." Also apparently well-educated. "If you ever begin experimenting with non-classical elements, I would suggest looking into those metals that are dense but non-reactive and non-radioactive. Tungsten and the like." He suddenly blushed a bit and looked embarrassed. "Ah, you may call me Sun Walker, my friends."

Alek nodded. "Alright. Don't have one now but wanted to ask. Thank you. And yeah, I remember my headaches from deprogramming." Paige could feel that Alek thought the headaches preferable to not getting deprogrammed. "I would like that help, yes. I'm no stranger to hard work, and it certainly doesn't scare me. I already do some meditations to help my breathing and some other stuff, so I should be able to incorporate this and the memory palace stuff." He smiled, really smiled, then. "Thank you so much again, Missus Cline. You've done so much to help me I don't think I can ever really repay it. You're pretty cool, and so is your show. Will's pretty lucky to have you as his mom."

"I am fine eating with other people. I have days I like my solitude, but Gunnar takes great joy in "breaking bread together", so I'm fine eating with you guys. I don't want to make you eat something you don't want, though." He looked around for a moment before gesturing to one of the larger shops. "I'd like to eat over there; it looks like they have good samosa, but plenty of other stuff. You all are more than welcome to eat with me." It was clear the quiet young man was actually in a pretty good mood and sociable, especially for him. It was just that his understated nature belied that sociability.

Everyone loves coupons. This sounds like at least a Wiki page, if not possibly also a Pinned thread in the appropriate sub-forum, similar to the ones for the various HQs we have floating around?

Gabriel grit his teeth at the pain in his leg. He'd had worse; a lot worse. His blessed armor had absorbed the majority of the damage, anyways; the bleeding didn't feel too bad. Not yet, anyways. He didn't like fighting groups like this; he couldn't reliably really just "split" his attacks like he could with regular humans, as there was a higher risk of spreading the energy out too thin. And trying to just willy-nilly flatten them might leave him too tired to face the stragglers, or other attackers. Then again, trying to take out too many one-by-one was going to wear him out fast, too. But he felt it had a better chance of ensuring specific enemies went down. So he grit his teeth as he floated back some more, and held both now-empty (having stowed his spear with a thought) hands toward the remaining drones. "God have mercy on your souls, you poor blighters, because I can't afford to give you any quarter today!" This time, both barrages of sonic energy slammed home with his normal accuracy, bolts of energy lancing into the Drones all over their twisted, metallic bodies.

Spend an HP to cancel fatigue. Move Action: Gain distance again. Standard Action: Ranged Attack vs closest Antibody: 26. Base DC 27, plus Autofire. Free Action: Surge for another Standard Action. Will spend HP to cancel fatigue at the start of the next turn (per my understanding of how this normally works). Standard Action: Ranged Attack vs the next-closest Antibody: 26. Base DC 27, plus Autofire.

The man with simian features and simple clothing was seated on the floor, in a lotus position, his hands resting palm-up on his knees. His furry tail was wrapped about his waist like an extra belt, with the tip occasionally twitching, the only uncontrolled movement on his body. He seemed unbothered by Geckoman's terrible singing, or the complaints of the others. When Cavalier asked his question about capabilities, Sun Walker opened his eyes slowly. Hronos was first to speak, his dramatic descriptions making one of the semi-mortal man's eyebrows raise slightly. In the silence that followed, Sun Walker spoke up. "I cannot claim abilities so grandiose as those. I am physically enhanced beyond normal human limits, and possess a great deal of skill in hand-to-hand combat. I am also capable of less conventional motive means, though I cannot fly." He paused. "I have a...gut feeling...that I would be able to at least generally function in extreme pressure conditions, and I don't seem to require air the same way as many do, but I am not keen on attempting operations in the vacuum of space, unprotected, without good reason."

Right, so, definitely wanting to nab the guy reaching for the lightbulb, take him out, then hit the other guy ASAP. Do we start a combat, or do you just want some rolls from me. -

He's going to wait until one of them goes to fix the lightbulb. -
"Hn. Not actually a cop. These punks wish I was, though." He yanked the thoroughly-tied bad guy so he was facing Thaelia head on. "He's got to give me the answers we need. So nothing to his face, and he can't go night-night right away." He pauses for dramatic effect. "Other than that, go wild. Try not to knock us into the bay."

"Should I expect any headaches? Anything like that? Sometimes in the past I got them, but not always. Um..." He put on that "thinking hard and seriously" face all teenage boys seem to be able to sprout. "So can you show me how to visualize my mind better, like all the time, any time? Normally I only get a picture as clear as we just had when I'm working with a psychic. I think having the ability to visualize it so clearly all the time would help me organize my thoughts, shield my mind, and repel attackers. Besides, I need to figure out how to...I guess the word would be "layer"?...my thoughts. For my sake, and others'."

She found Nevermore hog-tying a man who was alternating between cursing and begging. Definitely an odd combination, but no odder than anything else today. The man wasn't going to get loose, though he might hurt himself if he thrashed too much. Without looking up from his work, Nevermore spoke to his comrade-in-arms for the night. "Nice work. Sorry I didn't suggest it sooner. Was a little hectic." Says the not-at-all-bulletproof guy who fought of a couple dozen gun-armed criminals. "Made sure to keep one conscious. We need answers, after all."
