As the others came in, passed through, and went outside, Corbin shifted a bit. Once his three friends had boarded the snowmobile, he turned to Sunset for a moment. "Looks like we're going scouting. If you want to stay here, just give us a yell in the brain if trouble starts to brew. I'll get back ASAP if that happens." With that, he uncrossed his arms and took to the sky, hovering near the Night Sled. "Good work, Mark. Should help visibility. Let's roll." His voice was calm, but it wasn't just determination in his eyes and his posture. There was...caution. It wasn't mature enough to be fear, but clearly this whole affair had him a bit spooked.

Honestly, between looking at the powers and what you described in Chat, this sounds more like a rank or 2 of the Personnel feature for an HQ. If the ship is smaller and using Vehicle rules, maybe you can work with the Refs to fudge in that same feature. But since the character can't move, act, or fight on their own, and their only real way to do any of that is via the ship, it seems more appropriate to build a Ship and then staff it.

Gabriel knows how to fly himself, so yeah. OOC: To clarify, is the current status that the 1st downed plane has some/all passengers and crew surviving, but held captive by the natives? And the 2nd plane was driven off, and now we're trying to actually peacefully talk with these folks?

Cobalt Templar took a step back as the cracks started...and then had to just stand there and blink several times as things rushed to...the two people leaving? "Wat." He shook his head for a moment as Titan spoke, crossing his blue-clad arms over his chest with his own frown. "I don't think time travel ever happened. Good catch on the whole thing there, Riff. Hate to say it, but they had me fooled. But I don't think we ever moved through time. I think it was one giant simulation. But...why?" With that question, the Liberty Leaguer began a thorough search of the room, including for any doors out of the immediate space. Perhaps if he sussed out where they actually were he'd have a better shot at figuring out what to do next...

Right, so, probably everyone has seen this announcement, yes? So, Bad Things Happening out in the far reaches of space, Bad Stuff coming to Earth, etc. etc. etc. New PCs! New Adventures! But while the good part of all the talk of new Space PCs is that there's energy and excitement about this, the bad part is that things are a touch confusing (at least for some of us) on who's planning what and who and how! The idea behind this thread is that everyone who's looking to make Space-focused PCs (that is, a character who's going to be doing most of their adventuring out beyond Terra in the Sol System), and figure out what sorts of characters are being made, what sorts of groups might arise from this, and how (maybe) PCs can pool together to pay for Vehicles/HQs (aka SPACESHIP). I'm going to make 2 more posts. One for characters, and one for groups. As a suggestion, I'm going to try and include this information in the characters list: PC Name. Player. Origin: Earth, Lor, Grue, etc Archetype: Powerhouse, Gadgeteer, Battlesuit, etc. Mode of Travel: Spaceship, Self-propelled, Gates, etc Typical Haunts: Lor Space, Grue Space, Unclaimed Space, Stellar Khanate, etc On the Groups list: PCs (and players) involved. Formed already or will form Spaceship or spaceships involved. Base of operations, if any Basically, the idea is to make it easy to find out, at a glance, what PCs are active, how they operate, where they operate, and what group they're in.

"Stay safe." It was an automatic comment from Gabriel as Velocity departed; he seemed to figure she was more than capable of doing so, but felt compelled to offer the sentiment anyways. His gaze was on the chaos below, his mouth pressed in a thin line, his eyes narrowed slightly. "I'm going to go see if there's anything I can do to help." Considering the situation, there would probably be enough work to go around for everyone. With that, Gabriel zipped down at high speed, stopping next to the deputy trying to treat the injured soldiers, his feet hovering a few inches above the grass. Just his presence seemed to radiate confidence and calm. "Good afternoon officer. I hope you don't mind us showing up. What can we do to help?"

"I would certainly like to avoid an actual fight, but these people have taken an entire town of innocents hostage. There is only so much grace to be extended in the way of negotiations here, in my mind. Still, we need more information." He stood and locked hands with Velocity, offering his other hand to Comrade Frost, while presumably Tiamat took Gaian Knight's hand. He stepped in time with the others through the door, blinking a bit as they emerged in the sun. He release the hands of his compatriots, shaking his head a bit. "I suddenly crave mango. Anyways, let's see, we should be close to the convoy..." He cast his gaze around the area about them, trying to spot the likely-wrecked trio of Humvees that should be nearby.

"You have chosen the way of pain, then." Nevermore's voice comes out like ground glass, his body hunched and ready for a fight. The Dragons ran toward him with crackling weapons...but Nevermore suddenly wasn't there! Instead he was racing along a grapnel line attached to a nearby wall right up until the moment he gut-checked the leader. "Remove the head, Dragon dies. Promise this won't kill you, though." That was an oddly specific promise as the pair tumbled to their feet and Nevermore started circling the bombastic, melodramatic leader. "Can't promise it won't hurt." And then the assault of blows began. No one blow would be the sort to knock a person out, oh no. Instead, they were stings. Light strikes that annoyed and ached and built up. At least until he started going for nerve cluster strikes, joint locks, and perhaps a couple of broken bones. Sometimes a dragon is downed by a single might blow, and sometimes it takes half a hundred blows. Either way, the dragon is still down.

Gabriel is all-business as the others filter into the room within just a couple minutes of his notification. Everyone gets a quick nod and greeting until they are all assembled. Once they are, he types a few commands and calls up an area map on the screen. As he speaks, various points on the map are highlighted. "Here's where the attack happened. We don't have much detail on what hit them yet. We do know that 3 of the 4 Humvees are still at the intersection. The 4th vehicle is inside this town. Fairview's small; barely over 800 people, maybe 150 buildings. Most of them houses. Whoever's doing this has at least a measure of weather control, because that's not a natural storm, and it isn't moving. It's blocking satellites, and something else is blocking any other communication. Ladies and gentlemen, we are the full measure of the available force from the League. The Captain and the Lady are not available, the other active team is in the field and not able to withdraw, and Daedalus is, likely for the best, keeping some reserve up at the Lighthouse. He is tracking the situation, and worst-case can deploy backup. I don't believe we will need it, though." He smiles at everyone there before looking at the map again. "Fleur, do you think you could get us to that intersection? If not we can probably use the teleport system, but your methods should be less detectable. If we can get there, we can check the status of the soldiers from the convoy and get more information on what hit them. Velocity might be able to scout the town for us, and then we can roll in there in force. I don't know about the rest of you, but trying to go in piecemeal doesn't sound appealing. As far as I'm concerned, we should treat this as if a force on par with the Crime League is in play. Best case we can talk them down. Worst case, we make them stand down."

Cobalt Templar had changed into less armor-y clothing as he'd sat and shared a few drinks with the others in the canteen. He figured between being immune to the alcohol and being more than old enough, it wasn't a big deal. And then someone came running in yelling about walls and things breaking them, and he was right behind Sunset, again clad in his shining blue armor. He frowned at what Sunset said as she...apparently she could use some form of psychometric reading. Interesting. He walked to the hole in the wall, narrowing his eyes against the harsh land around them. Trying to see if he could spot any trace of who, or what, broke through the wall.

Cobalt Templar was unmoved by the man's tears. He slowly pried him away from his body. "Okay, but that doesn't explain the dozens of other things in the timeline that just don't add up. "Remove Hitler" doesn't do all the other things we see in this world. Trust me, I've been to a world where Hitler had his neck snapped in the mid-30s. It wasn't like this." He didn't add that it was actually worse, because that wouldn't help. "This isn't just you removing Adolf Hitler before Nazi Germany gained momentum and power. There are so many other changes that either you traveled to multiple places, or your time machine was so whacked-out you tore holes in time or something. Plus, who were the folks you strapped into the machine? Where did they go? What do they have to do with this?"

Gabriel was rapidly typing notes and pulling up maps on secondary monitors as the Major talked. His mood was not improving with the news. "Acknowledged, Major. I'm going to rally what League and Auxiliary members can be summoned in the next couple of minutes and get us moving ASAP. We will contact you back with a full roster of our first-response team before we move out. We'll keep those people safe, and keep whatever it was in the convoy out of unsavory hands. Hang on a moment please." With that the call was placed on a short hold. Gabriel pressed a couple of buttons, opening links to several Freedom League Auxiliary members who were listed as "on-call" for the day. One of them was the vampire sunning himself on the rooftop. All would receive simultaneous calls and text messages, with the former going straight to a pre-recorded voice message. "This is Gabriel. We have a high-priority situation, with a town held hostage, sensitive scientific materials missing, and at least one weather controller among at least a half-dozen super-powered individuals. Please rendezvous at the Hall ASAP, and respond immediately if you are unable to make it. We are leaving in less than ten minutes to address the situation." Considering the individuals in question, "addressing" the situation was unlikely to be a small affair.

Both Titan and Riff turned to find that Cobalt Templar was simply not standing there any more. Which was impressive, considering his size and mode of dress. They would probably notice the front door being somewhat open, though. Inside, he took in the "decor" with a deep frown. This...did not bode well. Then he came upon the weeping scientist, and pondered his options for a few moments. Finally he settled for quietly walking up to directly behind the man before speaking, his arms crossed over his chest. "So what exactly went wrong, Professer Litwack? I get the impression this isn't the present you wanted to make."

HP Reroll for Stealth (Because that still leaves me 2 HP and because I can): 13, which becomes 23 with the reroll. Geez. Notice Check while heading inside the house and moving around inside of it: 26. Where were you 2 rolls ago???

There was a blur of motion, and then the robot heard a voice from behind itself. "This is your last chance to run away, Tin Man! We've already got a truckload to take to the recycling center. You want to go too?" Even as he taunted, Thoughtspeed's twin blades blurred through another attack pattern. He practically couldn't miss his current opponent, and his blades carved furrows into its metal body. Certain not crippling wounds, not yet, but he was just getting warmed up.

Gabriel had honestly been a bit bored, as he'd mostly finished his lesson plans. At this point he was just working up a few possible extra credit and remedial assignments. As soon as the call came in and he saw the frequency, his face got deadly serious. He pressed the button to receive the call and listened for several moments. When the initial call had completed, he responded. "Major Ellis this is Gabriel of the Freedom League. I confirm receipt of your transmission. What's the situation? I may need to call in a few more League members to assist depending on the nature of the emergency." A priority alert from the Army was likely not a kitten stuck in a tree, after all.

Nevermore knew he had to move if he wanted to avoid a long, drawn-out fistfight. Part of him wanted to do that anyways, but he didn't have time, and a good, honest cop's life (or unlife) and career were on the line. So he settled for a grip that left the bartender little leverage and a covered mouth as he quick-walked back into the room he had entered the building from, angling for the still-open window. He slowed for just a moment to eye the window opening and adjust his grip on "Evan". Said grip adjustment meant that said bartender saw those inhuman white eyes turn toward him, and that one patch of human-like flesh (perhaps a parody slapped onto this inhuman, otherworldly figure?) show a slight smirk. It was not an expression that promised kittens and cognac. "Time for fresh air." Indeed, what the man got instead was tossed through the window onto the fire escape. He had perhaps 3-4 seconds of freedom before the dark vigilante was on his person again, one arm securely fastened about Evan's person, the other aimed at the rooftop above them. "Don't squirm." And then they were zipping through the air on a high-strength ascender line, and were suddenly on the roof, Evan once again free for the moment as the vigilante crouched on the lip of the rooftop, his jaw shrouded in shadows, his cape flapping a bit in the breeze, and those white eyes still looking directly at Evan's. Like they were looking into his soul. "You have information I want. We can either have a calm discussion, or a vigorous debate. Your choice."
