Stealth Check: 16. Not quite! -
"Looks like they put all their eggs in one basket." Nevermore had taken several steps away from the cyber-beast as Polariy appeared from nowhere and surged electricity into the robo-dragon. "Time to make an omelet." Taking one more step back, Nevermore dashed forward and went into a slide for a couple of feet, gathering his legs up against his chest... Before driving them up into the dragon's chest with all his might. The move would leave him a bit open for a few critical seconds, but it allowed him to push a lot of power into the blow. Combined with the reinforcing plates in his boots, that meant that the blow half-caved-in the metallic ribcage of the beast, even as Nevermore rolled out from under it, staying within arm's reach of the creature as it started to sway on its clawed feet.

"Oh good Lord, Fangri-La? Seriously?" Will couldn't help but laugh as he casually moved and ducked and twisted at high speed to avoid the automatic weapons fire. "You guys couldn't come up with anything better than that? Fire your PR guy, seriously." He crouched just a bit and grinned under his helmet. "I'd say you ought to get some gun training, but you're going to be busy calling your HR department." And then suddenly he was right in front of two of the cultists, his halberd held out horizontally. It caught both men right in the solar plexus, and a bit of force from Thoughtspeed just flipped them right over and onto the ground. The landing knocked enough wind out of them they slumped into unconsciousness. Thoughtspeed just kept zooming on, before he stopped between the last two standing men. He leaned against his glowing green weapon with an air of casual dismissal. "On account of updating your health insurance policy."

Hm hm hm... Move Action: Get next to at least 2 of the Snake Cultists. Standard Action: Melee Attack one of them. Take 10 for 21 to hit (which should do it again). Takedown Attack to hit the other one if the first drops. DC 20 Toughness Save. Move Action: Move-By Action to get up close and personal with the last 2 Cultists. Cause he definitely has the movement for it!

Hm. This thing is super-vulnerable right now. And while stylistically grappling would be cool, I kind of just want to end the fight. So.... Free Action: Power Attack for 5. Free Action: All-out Attack for 5. Standard Action: Melee Attack the Cyberdragon: 26. That'll hit for sure. Toughness Save DC is 26. IC Post pending how badly that hurts the Dragon.

The young vigilante crouched in the shadows below the open window for a few moments, considering his options. While an interrogation needed to happen, the situation could easily go south if he tried to jump into a group. He should be able to at least do a bit of exploring while upstairs... He moved a bit further into the room he was in, steering away from the area with pool tables and such. Perhaps one of the side rooms here had office space or something. Information that he could use. Leverage. Failing that, he supposed he could always zip down to the lower floor and nab the owner in a snatch-and-grab.
-
The young hero smirked at the comment regarding his name, actually looking a little...embarrassed? "Talk to the Boss Lady about names. I signed up for the company uniform." Considering that thing would make Green Berets jealous, that's a reasonable stance to take. "You're right though. Marked bills are a great way to track this stuff. It's too bad you didn't have a backup site somewhere. Might be something to set up after we get this cleared up for you, Detective Archer." His tone wasn't mocking, just helpful. He also seemed confident of her innocence. So, at least two people seemed inclined to accept that she hadn't done it. Nevermore looked at her jacket for a moment, concern making him frown. "I realize injury isn't the same thing for someone in your...condition...but are you sure you'll be alright out here?" Barring a sudden collapse, he turned and lined up a shot with his gauntlet, turning to look over his shoulder for just a moment. "Yeah. Real shame what happens to good, law-abiding citizens in this town sometimes. An hour of lost business. Tsk tsk." And then pressurized air shot a line up to the second-story fire escape, and Nevermore was fluttering through the air before pulling himself up with almost no noise. He crouched at the window for a second, his glowing eyepieces helping him see into the darkness beyond. Unless someone was standing there in ambush, he'd try to ease the window open and slip inside. Assuming that worked, he'd take a few moments to look around whatever room he found himself in...

"Well, see, apparently my body builds up a huge excess of kinetic energy, right? And I'm able to harness that. That's how I move so fast. My mind is more powerful than average, too, which is part of what helps control that, and part of what lets me do a few other things." Here he shows off his conjured blades, giving them a couple of twirls, even allowing the aliens to scan them and so forth. "These babies are focused kinetic energy. Sort of like how light is both a particle and a wave and sort of neither one? Same thing here, it seems. I don't understand all the science behind it, I just know that my body makes the energy, and my mind harnesses it." Talking about how awesome his powers are is a good distraction from the frustration that there's nothing that can be done for the village of sapient beings just a few dozen miles away.

The water that struck the mech mostly stayed under Tsunami's control, but some of it sprayed out and fell down like a brief rainstorm. Moving through that rainstorm was a blur of black-and-green motion that resolved into Thoughtspeed. His halberd spun in his hands like he'd used it all his life, and as he skidded to a stop between two of the Cultists, it entered a complicated patter. "Haven't you guys heard? Snakeskin is out for this year's fashion!" One of the armored men took the blunt butt of the weapon right to his forehead at enough speed to leave cracks in his helmet, knocking him back a couple feet, his eyes already rolling up in his head as he fell boneless to the ground. To Will, the other man moved in slow motion as the blade swung out, struck his assault rifle, and flashed a zig-zag cut across his chest. The armored fabric was absorbing most of that blow...but then at super-speed, the flat of the blade struck him in the solar plexus, causing him to wheeze and begin bending over. At which point, the haft of the weapon cracked against the back of his head, sending him tumbling face-first into the ground. "Good thing those helmets have face mask or you'd be tasting cement!" Not quite satisfied, the weapon in his hands increased in length as he spun it in a circle, the blade and haft striking multiple times against the metal feet of the huge battlesuit... And having no real effect. Will sighed before giving the polearm another spin, leaving it resting across his shoulders, one arm almost lazily keeping it in place as he looked at the other goons. His faceless helmet tilted to one side, and the other cultists could hear the smirk in his voice. "Anyone up for round two? I'm good and stretched now."

And suddenly almost right next to her on the ground was Nevermore. It's like the guy's trained like a ninja or something. Instead of his normally threatening, slightly hunched profile, Nevermore is standing up straight and tall. His cape is rolled back over his shoulders, giving a clear view of his armored form. His arms are held up in a semi-relaxed stance, wide apart, with his hands open and palms facing the man in front of them. His movements are slow, deliberate, and easy to track. His speech is clear, and while there's a slight gruff edge (to presumably go with his costumed self), he seems to be making even that non-threatening and more open. "Hello sir. My name is Nevermore. Are you alright? Do you need a doctor or something?" He pauses to give the man time to process and answer. "Blue Jay and I are here to help. We don't want to hurt you. What's your name? How can we help you?"

Right then! Time to goonsweep. Will has his Kinetic Blades set to the Polearm AP. Move Action: Get in the middle of the Snake Cultists, or as close to the middle as possible. The key part is them all being within 15 feet of me. Standard Action: Melee Attack vs...uh, Cultist 2? I dunno, just the closest one I guess. I'm going to assume he can Take 10, which gives him a 21, with a DC 20 Toughness Save. The halberd has Takedown Attack 1. I don't recall (and don't have the book) if that requires the mook to go down, or just the attack hit. Also don't recall offhand if it goes to just 1 guy or everyone; I think TA1 lets you hit anyone in reach and next to the target, but you can't move between hits. The goal here is basically a circular, almost spinning attack, with the halberd construct. Let me know if that will work.

Detective Archer had been in the alleyway for perhaps 3 minutes when a soft voice spoke up from behind her and to her right. "Detective. I hope you are feeling as well as can be expected." It definitely wasn't Raven; the voice was male, and while gruff and growly, was still a bit on the young side. As if the voice, and the person attached to it, had some growing to do yet. When she turned to investigate the source, she'd see nothing for a moment. Until suddenly two glowing eyes revealed themselves in the shadow... And were shown to be the eyes in a dark cowl attached to a dark outfit. Archer having the connections to Raven that she did, and being such an exemplary officer of the law, she might have caught the whispers starting to go around that Raven had a partner. Or, as the less respectful might term him, a sidekick. "I'm Nevermore. I'll be your point of contact and assistance in the investigation. Now. What evidence have we got on hand right now, and where's a good place to get more?" Well, he was as down-to-business as Raven, at least.

Templar scanned the horizon a full three times, but didn't see anything any of those times. He narrowed his eyes just a bit, but didn't dare think anything like "it's too quiet". One too many ambushes will keep you paranoid not only about your surroundings, but what kind of luck you invite on yourself. He descended back to the snow, which melted a bit under his feet as he walked at the back of the group. He eyed the shotgun the man who opened the door was holding. It certainly didn't ease his worries any; someone willing to openly carry something like that in a place that should be desolate, well, either they're completely crazy, or something has them spooked. His gut was telling him the latter was almost certainly what was going on here. For now, he'd just stick with the group and keep himself alert.

Will blinked at the mental message from his mother, before finishing the last of his food in a couple of eye-blinks. Just long enough for his father to stand up and start gearing himself for the big run back. The young speedster cleaned up his trash (not that it would overly matter, but habits were habits) and stood next to his father. He smiled as he and his father took off across the land at blazing speeds. ~Not in particular. I mean, they went over a couple aliens we know about, but mostly just the Lor, the Stellar Khanate, and then things like the Curator and Gorgon.~ Then again basically everyone knew about the Gorgon. ~There were never fossil records found of aliens visiting Earth in this day and age. No one really thought they had, but it wasn't an ironclad thing; just not something they thought about, I guess. One of those things nobody knows. Well. Knew. We know. Now.~

Nevermore kept expecting the gang to jump in when he showed he was besting their "greatest creation". He kept himself poised and alert, ready to, at a moment's notice, spring into a general melee with them. But it kept not happening. So he kept focusing his efforts on the robotic dragon thing he was punching. 'Boss Lady does keep telling me criminals are usually stupider than you think. Might as well take advantage of that while I can.' he thought to himself, without even a smirk on the outside to hint at his thought processes. With a flourish of his cape, he crouched for just a moment...before launching himself in a perfect leap right at the Cyberdragon. But instead of seeking to punch its head off (yet), his hands reached out and found the perfect purchase on the already-dented plates, his body beginning to tuck in and try to contract around the somewhat serpentine's robot's neck and body. If punching it wasn't enough, he'd wrangle it until he ripped its head off. That said, he decided fighting smart and using group tactics outweighed looking cool (just like his Boss Lady taught him). "If either of you can hear me I would really like some backup now if you can manage it. No big rush though. Just take your time." His harsh voice rang out in the warehouse hideout, clearly audible to Polarity (though he hadn't spotted her hiding place yet) and likely fairly audible to Solvrytter.

Right then, going to try what I opened with. Standard Action: Melee Attack (to attempt a Grapple): 30. Haha! +5 to Grapple Check! Grapple Check: 22. That was...less impressive. Move Action: Ask for some help.

Corbin blinks at the...earnest good nature of the future-seeing wishing well. "Wait. So...not only can you grant this past-present-future sight to anyone, instead of just one person ever, but you want to...make yourself a public wishing well? I...I mean, people don't have to toss a coin in, but even if they do they can just toss in the smallest possible denomination coin, I guess. If you get a thousand of those a day it can add up. But...what, you want this place here to end up a tourist site?" Honestly, and this was probably unfair on Corbin's part, he was still stuck on the water spring talking back to them like an excited freshman.

I'm going to start off with saying these are fantastic. Then I'm basically going to post under each applicable idea the PCs of mine that I thought could fit in that idea. Cobalt Templar could get all up in this.Gabriel's got a spear, which is kind of like a harpoon, so maybe him, too. Plus, sound carries farther underwater! He'd need a rebreather, though. Depending on the level of Murder League forces, Nevermore could definitely be in on this. If the forces were more potent, maybe CT or Gabe. But Nevermore is the first one that comes to mind. "Carson Keefe, Murderer!" has a nice ring to it. Gabriel is all about diplomacy and dealing with people! Thoughtspeed would be all over a competition scenario. Hm. Nevermore Cobalt Templar, methinks. Thoughtspeed or Cobalt Templar, I'd say. Definitely Gabriel. He's got ties to UNISON, and it seems like a scenario he'd be pretty well suited to assisting in, seeing as he could be a mobile communications relay. Nevermore. Definitely Nevermore.

Gabriel gave Wander a genuine smile. "You paved the way, Wander. You held the line. Thank you. I'm going to go help Nick, then the two of us will sweep back here and help you, then check on Frost or the Gates. Call out if you need help, I'll try to be listening." With a spur of his heels, he was a white streak through the air until he landed at the edge of the battlefield between Nick and the old Death. He caught Nick's comment about the movies. "Well, I'm no Gandalf, but hopefully this will help." His gaze turned to Death, and sharpened. He pointed his spear at the fallen-sideways angel, and power thrummed at its point. "Where is your sting, oh Death?" And sonic energy lanced out, striking the being center mass with incredible precision.

Right, time to stick with what works. Move Action: Spur Horse to get to battlefield next to Nick. Free Action: All-Out Attack 5. Free Action: Power Attack 5. Standard Action: Ranged Attack: 29. I exceeded his Defense by 6, so...that'll be +3 from Autofire. So a DC 30 Toughness Save.
