  1. Right then. Free Action: Pithy reply. Free Action: All-Out Attack for 5. Defense now +7, Attack now +17. Free Action: Power Attack for 5. Attack back to +12, get +5 to DC on attacks. Free Action: Switch Sonic Control Array to Drain Toughness. Standard Action: Ranged Attack vs Conquest. 24. That hits, so....DC 27 Fortitude Save vs a Rank 12 Drain Toughness. Free Action: Burn one of my free Extra Efforts. Extra Effort--Standard Action: Ranged Attack vs. Conquest. 17. Blech. Gonna burn a Hero Point for a Reroll. That's a 29. Another DC 27 Fortitude Save vs a Rank 12 Drain Toughness.
  2. Well, that was just the opening salvo anyways. Gabriel goes on a 26. He should be at....I guess 7 Hero Points, with 6 (Luck 5 plus the default 1) - 1 + 2?
  3. Rolling an Intimidate Check for getting his Batman on: 21.
  4. Nevermore's mask lenses couldn't properly emote (yet), but somehow, the thug who called them all "kids" simply knew the young crime fighter was scowling at him. His voice, now bearing a menacing edge that carried all sorts of menace, carried down into the alleyway. "Children, are we?" Then Polarity and Solvrytter had sprung into action and frozen or downed several of the criminals. In that moment of confusion, Nevermore suddenly descended from the rooftop, a flurry of cape and shadow and glowing eyes rustling in the damp dark of the alleyway. He landed in front of the dragon-masked man who had asked if they were going to run home, going into a crouch for just a moment. "Let's see who cries for their mother first." Like lightning, a leg swept up into a knee, producing a sound that wasn't exactly healthy, causing the man to begin bending over in reflex to the pain. A rising fist met his masked jaw, delivering bone-cracking force likely to render him unconscious. No time to gloat, there was another combatant to neutralize. Nevermore was in his "zone", his place where he saw, breathed, lived a fight. Polarity and Solvrytter saw in that moment that for this young man, fighting wasn't just a sport. His left hand lashed out in a knife strike that made the stun gun user gasp in pain. This wasn't a dance. Another strike, this time to the solar plexus, leaving the criminal gasping for breath. This wasn't even art. Finally, a hit to the side of the neck dropped the criminal to the ground insensate and quickly unconscious. No, what Nevermore did? It was math. It was cold, calm calculation. The assessing of distance and mass and reach and force and leverage, all for the maximum possible benefit for minimum possible risk in a fight. There were rough edges; Aleksander wasn't even a legal adult yet. But what was already there was definitely a dangerous man. As the attention was on the heroes for just a moment, the last criminal standing suddenly was freed from the strange paralysis that had overcome him. But it didn't really matter. Before he could do more than consider his situation, he was grasped by the front of his shirt, lifted bodily off the ground, and shoved up against the alley wall. And there in his face was something that seemed man-like, but couldn't possibly be a mortal, could it? Those cold, soulless things that made a mockery of eyes, the shadows it wore like a cape...This was a creature of the night that had him in its grasp. It spoke with a voice that promised terrible things. "Your gear. Where did you get it? Are there more of you? Why are you out here tonight? Talk."

If the idea is that the character was "damaged" in an initial scuffle with the Freedom League but is still functional...why are they toting around a Perception Range Rank 10 Damage, a Rank 15 Damage, and enough Super-Strength to...I think that gives effective Strength 50-something, which is getting to the point of lifting ocean-going sea vessels. If you want to go with the theme of "damaged but with vast potential", to me it would make more sense to pare down the more exotic stuff, shore up the basic abilities and saves, and then use the justification of "system repairs" as time goes on.

Not necessarily. My default suggestion is to not array her Toughness bonus, and perhaps consider making it Protection instead.

To put it another way, that picture doesn't really tell us anything about the character. It's not her heroic costume, or a working outfit. We generally don't encourage pictures of character in sleepwear. Edit: That updated one is definitely better. For formatting on your powers, might I suggest looking at a few characters around the site? Also, there's a couple of odd indents in your sheet that throw off its appearance a bit. As we mentioned in Chat, having Exotic (Reflex and Will) Saves as low as you do isn't really fun; you run a strong risk of being debilitated in most fights. Again, to annotate a Construct/Fort Immune character, your ability score would be: Con - (-). AvengerAssembled has a few examples in his character-building threads of how to annotate a Fort Immune character. The same would, obviously, apply to the Fortitude Save itself. This also means the baseline Toughness Save Bonus is 0, not -1. You need Protection, Force Field, or Defensive Roll (which we have houseruled to be +2 Toughness when allowed your Dodge Bonus) to cover your Toughness Save. Personally I would suggest shuffling points to get Protection so that it's "always on", since that will be your only source of that Save. Immunity Aging is, I believe, covered under Fort Immunity, though someone can correct me if I'm wrong there. With Regeneration, it would be helpful to note what Action you've bought it to for Injuries, Disabled, etc. So, can she heal an Injury in a Free or Full Round Action? That sort of thing. I'm unclear on what her "Cyber Vision" does. I'm unclear on the connection between the Datalink and Force Field powers, and would strongly suggest you not put your entire Toughness save in an Array like that. Gizmo did make a build with an array that included a boost to Toughness...but it was also a build that has to toggle between Toughness-shifted and Defense-shifted, meaning the character meets caps no matter what. That might be more thematic, if you want to have her not always be a walking tank. The array is really big and beefy, and while that's not inherently bad, it seems like it's a mix of powers that don't seem entirely related. While the broad theme of "cybernetic construct utilizing cutting-edge technology to harness magical energy" is pretty clear, I'm not clear (from looking at the mechanics) what she might be beyond that. Some of that might be a formatting issue, admittedly.
  8. Move Action: Glide down to be between the 2 remaining thugs. Standard Action: Take 10 (for 20 total) to attack the non-paralyzed thug. DC 21 Toughness Save. Takedown Attack to hit the other one (assuming he's in range). Same save. I'll hold off IC post until we confirm if either of them goes down from that.
  9. Uh....Nevermore is on the rooftop still. EDIT: Also unless you're counting him as flat-footed, 15 misses. He's got a +10 Defense Bonus.
  10. Gabriel's pace slowed as he took in the twisted, fallen being that had once mastered the Horse that he rode. His eyebrows rose a fraction of an inch...before falling into a scowl. His mouth set itself in a thin line. He spurred the White Horse on faster, and began circling over the increasing defenses at the gate. His voice began to ring out, and it reached those at the gate and beyond, the words as clear as if he stood next to them. All who heard felt as if a spark of hope was kindled in their heart. "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart exults! And with my song I shall thank Him! The Lord is our strength! And He is a saving defense to us, His anointed! Our enemies stand before us, but they shall not prosper! The Lord gives us strength this day! I bid you all stand firm! Take heart! Evil and corruption and madness have no power over us! No power over this place! Our victory is already won! We have answered the call! And you!" At that moment, the former rider of the White Horse knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that Gabriel was talking to him. The Irishman in shining armor, bow in one hand and spear in the other, planted his horse firmly in the path of the raging creature of madness, his voice ringing out even more clearly. "In the name of the LORD I bid you begone! Turn aside! You shall not befoul these gates! You have already been defeated! In the name of God, I cast you out!" The final words rushed out with such power they were like the roar of a hundred lions all at once, a sheer, physical force that slammed into the being's person, seeking to push him back, to knock him down, to render him senseless. In short, to make him rethink this whole "charging the gates" plan.
  11. Right. Burning a Hero Point to activate Inspire 5. Oh, and using my "Far-Hearing, The Tongues of Men & Angels, Ventriliquism" powerset so that it is totally audible to all the good guys. It will boost Comrade Frost, Nick Cimitiere, Wander, and 7 angels with +5 to Attack, Saves, and Checks. Edit: Burning another Hero point to gain another Standard Action. Free action to switch to Blast, then pointing it at Old Conquest. Attack Roll: 26. Base DC 27, plus any Autofire.
  12. (GM Post) The Baron frowned a bit at Dragonfly's lecture. "You did catch the part of his monologue where he mentioned infecting me well before my brain was coated in Computronium, yes? Just because I wasn't shouting "ALL HAIL THE CURATOR" doesn't mean that, in retrospect, that recklessness and disregard for safety protocols was not influenced by the eons-old computer program lurking in the nanites I injected in myself a couple of years ago. You remember the incident, when the thieves attacked the hospital while my young niece was being taken through her life-saving operation? When she nearly died? But don't act like I'm walking away from this scott free, or like this whole affair was my idea. I was violated. My mind was compromised and not my own. I very nearly did something that would have haunted me, locked in the back of my own mind, for the eons to come of that cybernetic life. I'm going to be getting regular scans for multiple psychics and technopaths for years to come. I'm going to have to go over everything I've done since I was infected. Infected because my pride made me walk in a place that hadn't been cleared, because I didn't think my nanites could be vulnerable like that. So, yes, I'm egotistical and I push the boundaries, perhaps too hard sometimes. But this..." He taps his own head, then blinks. Probably gave himself a headache. Or exacerbated it. "This isn't how I would have done it. I don't ask for your pity or sympathy or understanding, but don't just assume you know exactly how it went down just because you watched the videos. Don't act like I wanted this day to happen. Whatever. Just...take me to the medics. Hopefully they can stop the bleeding." He seemed tired, and maybe slightly bitter, though if the latter was true it was likely more about the gaping wounds on his body and the whole "taken over by an alien intelligence" thing.
  13. (GM Post) The Baron helped Miss Americana cover his dignity as best he could without getting too much of his blood on her. He gave a weary nod at the iconic inventor's proclamation. "Yes I do believe I've had enough "fun" to last me a lifetime or three." He fell quiet for a couple of minutes, his eyes losing focus until Dragonfly addressed him. "Right. Tune to frequency XXYY. Wait 10 seconds. Send the following code: Gamma Alpha Alpha Niner Eight Niner Zulu Alpha Tango Tango Four Niner Sierra Hotel Hotel Two Two Yankee Bravo Alpha. Wait 15 seconds. Send code word: Eira. I, uh, would recommend waiting until we're in the entryway. It's pretty immediate, and most of the wireless receivers were stripped by the conversion wave. The system will send a heavy-duty EMP into the halls and rooms, delivered by way of special runes combined with forcefully-extended rods with high-frequency emitters on the end. Twenty seconds after that a volatile fuel mixture is sprayed into the majority of the empty spaces. And then ignited. The implosion charges should give you your boom, then." He would lapse back into quietude unless prompted for conversation.

Corbin nodded at Indira's words. "Yeah. Safety first, guys and gals." When Christina brought out the map and laid it down flat, he moved up next to her, striving to make sure his bulk didn't make anyone feel too crowded. He scanned the map, then started using his right index finger to gesture at it now and again. "Let's hit that trail first. Yeah, there. It'd make it easier to loop over here, and then here. Yeah, like that. So then when we hit this turn, we can be sure we didn't miss anything. This might be a good five-minute-break point. And maybe make this our end point?"
  15. Moments after the Horses began to cry out in...panic? Fear? Anticipation?...Gabriel was standing in the midst of all Four of them, his features almost eerily calm. His gaze took all the creatures in, and raised his empty hands in the air. He Spoke then, with an authority underlined by his power, in a way he had long practiced. "Peace I say unto you. Be calm, brothers and sisters. Quiet your hearts. This trial we shall face together." From him flowed waves of calming, peaceful sound. Humans couldn't hear it, but they always felt it. The angels and the Horses might hear parts of it; not words, more like...music. A soft background music of calming that fought against even the strongest fires of rage and fear. Comrade Frost strode in then, using brute force where a gentle touch might perhaps have won the day. No time for that, though. His spear was in one hand, and without having thought it, his bow was in the other. A light step, and he flew through the air...to land upon the White Horse of Conquest. The beast was calm now, and obedient once more. "Come, my valiant steed. Let us face your old master and show him the error of his ways. However we must accomplish it. Hya!" With that exclamation, he spurred the Horse onward, and they were airborne, almost immediately leaving the stable and beginning a circular patrol through the air that widened a bit as it went.
  16. Thoughtspeed moved his body with contemptuous ease to avoid the incoming attack. When you're a speedster, and you're "on", things like that seem like they're in slow motion. "Man your aim is terrible! I'm over here now!" Indeed, he was suddenly up in the ice controller's face, his green energy sword flashing almost as bright as the grin hidden by his helmet. "Ice Age? More like Snow Day! One, maybe two days off of school. Three tops!" Suddenly, the rapier of kinetic energy flashed forward, striking the crazed bully in the shoulder with a solid hit. "Haha! Hoho! Have at the, Slushy Afternoon!"
  17. Right then! Move Action: Get into melee range of Ice Age. Free Action: Make with the quippage. Standard Action: Poke! Melee Attack: 25. Just barely hits. That's a DC 20 Toughness Save.
  18. Happy Birthday, Moira and JP! Glad to have others sharing birthdays in this truly awesome month!
  19. William couldn't help but feel awed at the sight of Farside City. I mean, he was finally on the moon. A huge grin broke out on his face as he turned in place, taking it all in. Then he hopped in place very lightly, getting a feel for the gravity... And then one of the Important People among the Farsiders was talking. He did his best to copy both the motion and depth of the bow given by Rulana. "It's a genuine honor to be here, ma'am." He raised an eyebrow at Georgia's antics. He was all for having fun, but it seemed a bit much to just jump away like that when you'd just met the equivalent of the President. Who at least was a nice lady! This was one of those times he was definitely going to listen to the pieces of advice his mother gave rather than his father. Besides, he didn't have any Silly Putty or spray paint.
  20. Per your suggestion in Chat, Intimidate: 18.
  21. For a while, it seemed to be almost "business as usual" for Gabriel. He wasn't sure if it said more about him personally or humanity in general that he not only wasn't going crazy from doing this, but that it was almost starting to feel normal. He was leaning toward "himself personally". He was going through more "papers", organizing information and giving orders to guide things, when he felt...something. He stopped in place, a frown marring his features, as the desks arranged in a small semi-circle fell silent, each of his aides stopping and looking at him after a few seconds of silence from him. The Irishman took a few moments to collect himself before giving an order, his face deadly serious. "Keep the momentum going. I need you all to focus on this work, I felt something odd. We should...just be cautious and aware, everyone." After that, he closed his eyes and tried to concentrate on that strange ripple-in-the-pond feeling. He wasn't entirely used to these senses, but if he'd felt it, that meant something was going on. He felt it was his duty to determine if that something was good or bad.
  22. (GM Post) When Miss Americana fried the advanced electronics in the room, she could see the nanites above go from a hypnotically-swirling cloud of conversion machines to a tub full of inert metal flakes. The teleport console on the floor went dark. The Curator Drones siezed up, spat sparks, and collapsed like puppets with their strings cut. The consoles they'd been working on made the magic blue smoke and went dark. The wall of televisions went dark with sizzles and pops and a couple of cracked glass screens. The Curator actually made an angry face. "Do you realize what you've done? It will take me days to reactivate that stock! I'm building a perfect world!" He casually leans his head to one side as Dragonfly tries to flay his composite armor, his expression contemptuous. "None of you appreciate what I am-AGH!" Even an eons-old Artificial Intelligence feels pain when connected to a fleshly body, and having a metal pike driven to the bone was excruciatingly painful for anyone. Most people would likely be lucky not to lose the limb after a wound like that from such a weapon. And then Steve spoke, and for that brief moment, this fragment of the Curator knew fear, and Dragonfly and Miss Americana picked up a sense of hope from Magnus. And then the energy coursed through his body. At first, the nanites and the computer program tried to fight it, but for a brief moment, Magnus seized control of what few bits of technology in his body were his, and he fought back. The semi-merged entity fell to its knees gripping its head as Steve's pike slid partway out of the gaping, weeping wound. He screamed, and just like when the Curator showed itself fully, it was a horrific sound. This time, the metal plating starting to fall away, crumbling to dust and blowing away from the heroes. His weaponry did the same. From the wounds already made, what seemed to be liquid metal poured. Two dozen other wounds opened on his body as the nanites were purged from his system in an emergency venture by the Katastrof tech in his body, even as that tech was burning out. The Baron, for it was likely to be the man in charge now and not the machine, keeled forward, catching himself on his hands as he vomited up bloody metal slurry. He was shaking and, unfortunately, unclothed, his body a mess of small and large wounds that were finally starting to bleed only blood, which slowed to a halt, or a crawl in the case of the savage blows dealt by Harrier's terrible weapon. The third eye was the last thing to go, it and a few remaining bloody tears of quicksilver. All the metal pooled around him became piles of dust and ash. Baron Magnus Vilhelm Katastrof looked at his saviors with clear blue eyes, human eyes, and smiled amidst the blood and ash. "Thank you. He's gone. Finally gone! I'm free, after my long, dark night. I...no, apologies will not do for now. I'm afraid one of you will need to help me, I'm a bit less than mobile now, but on the plus side, we can burn this place out and implode it with little fear now. I can give one of you the codes on the way out." As he spoke, he tried to stand, but ended up just falling to the floor in a bloody heap, his limbs betraying him. "Dear me. I suppose this is the least I deserve for what I've wrought today."
  23. Well, despite all that heavy metal he's still faster than his roommate. I think Nevermore is trying to save face and take time to be extra-spooky, hence the 5.
  24. First, just popping this up there. Harrier (26): Fatigued; 2 HP Curator Katastrof (25): Bruised x3 (3 Incurable) Miss Americana (18): Bruise x1; 3 HP; Gina Bruise x1 Dragonfly (8): Uninjured; 2 HP; Device Fatigued (-2pp on all her effects. Basically a 1pp drop to Damage, Defense, and Toughness) DC 37 Toughness Save: 29. That's another Bruise, plus Dazed. Harrier (26): Fatigued; 2 HP Curator Katastrof (25): Bruised x4 (4 Incurable) Miss Americana (18): Bruise x1; 3 HP; Gina Bruise x1 Dragonfly (8): Uninjured; 2 HP; Device Fatigued (-2pp on all her effects. Basically a 1pp drop to Damage, Defense, and Toughness) And between the Daze and the described effect, that will do the trick and take us out of combat, yes. I'll hold off on describing until Fox and AA make IC posts.
  25. If Polarity and Solvrytter spared a moment's glance for Nevermore, they would see a radical shift. What had been a quiet but friendly young man transformed into a predator of the night, tense as a coiled spring. He took but a moment to consider the comparative lack of stealth that Solvrytter held, and Polarity's absurdly quiet movement to one of the alley rooftops, before making his decision. Without a word to either of them, he took a couple of steps back, then took a short dash off the roof. In mid-air, his cape suddenly snapped into a shape not unlike the spread wings of a bird, and he move smoothly through the air to land on the rooftop opposite Polarity. Unfortunately, it was not his most graceful of moves, and his boots scrabbled a bit on the loose gravel scattered on the flat top of the building.
