  1. DC25 Toughness post: 12. Bodes poorly. Rerolling(0HP): 24. Bruised.
  2. Snapping his teeth at the renewed pain, Wave-Eye swung around and faced the strange figure, the Conch at his lips and lungs filling. The giant monster would keep for a little while, the triton decided, while this creature could not be allowed to escape. A second roar filled the river that carried far past the banks, followed by a whirl of red blades that exploded into a whirling, vicious maelstrom that burst upon his enemy like a wave of crimson, dancing death. Taking the Conch from his mouth, panting from the exertion, Wave-Eye stared in frustrated admiration as his enemy withstood the attack, smashing the last of his blades aside with a sweep of blazing power! "Well, you are not one to be taken lightly. Thou must be an old campaigner to deal so with mine Red Wave, and your creature sets it at naught. I am outmatched, I deem." The Aztec fishman grinned, eyes gleaming as brightly black as his teeth shone white "I hath dreamed of this hour!"
  3. The winged sentinel started at the wild-eyed man's sudden possession of a gun "Wait you f-grrrraauuuuughhhhh!" Osprey froze in place for several seconds of pure agony, white-hot pain tearing through his body and leaving him speechless on the floor besides a low groan. Smoke drifted up from where small metal disks kept his white and brown cape and bodysuit connected, and his left hand spasmed several times. 'Well, this is not our night, old chum. But lying here won't make it any better. Or take that man down![/b' Then, with great speed and painful effort, he staggered back to his feet, teeth gritted and eyes glaring at his assailant, his trembling left arm gripped by his right hand at the elbow. "Welcome to Freedom City, home o' every kind of crazy" he muttered, just barely loud enough for it to be heard.
  4. As per their approval, entries made for Fast-Forward, G-Force, Hologram, Miss Grue, Tempest, Thoughtspeed and Ulysses. Papercut, Philotherian, Changeling and Merge Trois' entries removed.
  5. Yay! Our first good deed! Thank goodness you thought to give Catalyst Medicine Roo. Would have been sad(and kind of funny) if they couldn't help some dying schmuck because their healer was thousands of feet away and Grappled.
  6. The kick spun Osprey around, the monstrous bird-man flapping wildly as he tried to regain equilibrium and get himself settled, cursing himself furiously at having missed such an easy target. 'Stupid, stupid! Got carried clear away and forgot to aim. Gah, I never get used to this height. Now, where's he got to...' Alden looked wildly about for his enemy, his eyes catching the tail of Young Britannia's light streaking off into the atmosphere like a comet. His beak fell open a little. "...Alright then. Guess she...won't need help." Looking back at the scene he'd just left, Osprey's neck-feathers stood up as he caught sight of the man far below, the one who he'd intended to go and help first, lying eerily still. Wheeling around he folded his wings and hurtled back to earth, wind streaming past and then slamming against him like a wall as he swung the massive limbs out to stop himself just in time. With his talons he gently lifted up the injured man "Be still. We'll get you out of this mate, I promise!" he whispered in the victim's ear, for all that it sounded rather horrible croaking from a massive beak. Bounding over to the van carrying along with the standard-issue government blokes a woman wielding what looked uncannily like a paintball gun as a rifle, and a young woman who looked both punkesque and strangely familiar, he called out "Hey! This man's like to die if we hang about, does anyone know First Aid? I'm Osprey!" he added, desperation tinging his inhuman voice "That guy up there's not me, he's some monster named Tylluan, you've got to believe me!"
  7. The random chap, because that seems more likely to keep him from stopping that squid if he goes free. Power Attack(-2 Attack, +2 Damage): 19. Oh well. DC29 Toughness save if that hits.
  8. Can't let that poor fellow up and die. Swooping down as a Move action, picking him up as a Standard. If he can moving the rest of the way to the Ministry van and asking for help(no Medicine skill or tools, kind of an oversight). If that's not allowable, using a Hero Point to buy Move-by-Action to clear the distance.
  9. GM "It's Mrs.-wait. Bolvar? He's-he's dead? How?" The elf's face had scarcely time to harden into impatience before it was softened by horror. She shrank a little into her chair, staring numbly at the fireplace as the others spoke. The initial jerk of shock was almost her only reaction, though she glanced almost automatically out the window too. Flinching a little at Blodeuwedd's touch, Elaine smiled awkwardly in thanks, reciprocated the gesture and edged her deep chair inch by inch closer to the others. In a quiet, urgent voice she said "All right, I'll tell what I can. I have a feeling I already know who you suspect did this. Me and Brandon don't have any enemies that we know of, but I know how things in Faerie work on a level nigh-unequaled on Earth. I know our laws by heart and that is a rare power. It might make us targets too. Poor Mr. Boulder" the glamour flickered like a candle for a few seconds as Elaine looked sadly into the merry and crackling hearth "what do you know thus far? Was it another elf?"
  10. GM The darts spun with a dull whistling drone, flashing through the air and embedding themselves in the cloaked and hooded creature. When they struck it was with several noises at once; clangs of metal, tearing cloth and the echoing *chok* of wood, but the wet noise of breaking flesh was loudest and was trampled on the tail by the creature giving a great hissing whine of pain, staggering backwards and clawing at the knives that had snuck past its armor and sunk deep into its hide. The noise was hard to bear in the cramped hallway, and Subito winced and tried to cover his ears as the agonized cry rang out, but the Queen hastily grabbed his arms and held them to his waist with a free claw, the other tracing some kind of pattern on the crystal of Viracocha's surface, eyes fixed hatefully on the intruders. The rest ignored their comrade's distress and wheeled about to tackle Blodeuwedd, jabbing and slicing with their spears as they did their level best to put a stop to the total defeat that was fast bearing down on them. Two struck wide, deflected by Dyrnwyn and simple ability, but the third, wisely, waited until the uncanny agent was recovering from the second sidestep before bringing their spear sweeping around and catching her in the side! "We have the sssame thought, human!" cried the Queen as she raised the crystal high, the thing blazing like a lesser Sun and casting the hallway into sharp relief as it illuminated every detail. "Watersssinger, feel the wrath of your beloved star! <Viracocha, consume!>" And with those words a tongue of white-hot fire burst from the crystal, hurtling like a javelin straight at Tsunami!
  11. Keeping quiet on the way over, as talking didn't seem like it would do anyone any good, Subito occupied himself with marking the differences between when they'd first arrived and right then. 'They're not trying to keep us off-balance by hauling us everywhere, they're not trying to wow us or make stuff creepy by repeating our meeting with Lady Shen. Guess they figure we're not a problem anymore. Besides, 'course, the guards keeping us corralled. There's a tight schedule I'll bet, and they want us in the mix as soon as possible.' The muscular teen was so lost in thought he yelped in surprise and pain as the sunlight suddenly blazed into his eyes, twisting his head away as best he could until he could squint. The first thing he saw was the jungle, a bonfire of green, and immediately his heart rose...only for the rest of the old-fashioned buildings to come into focus, and then the crowd smack dab in the courtyard doing their exercises that reminded him of nothing so much as Claremont gym class, though with a lot more people. The abrupt change, the exotic scene, it almost drowned out the sight of Lady Shen, her smile and her question. Squaring himself, the boy replied flatly "Can't complain. Better'n the flight over, at least. How about you? And I'm guessing these" he nodded to the mob of blue-clad figures "are our new comrades? We Dr. Sin's newest recruits?"

  16. Notice roll: 1d20+1= 21. What? Okay. Woohoo!
  17. Jerking back with a cry of surprise, Wave-Eye watched the glowing lance streak by, turning with renewed respect to the squid. This wasn't going to be near as easy as he'd thought(though how easy that was is difficult to say), but allowing an enemy this far into the heart of the city meant he would have to fight. "Maybe I can drive you back, Fiery One, lead you out to sea..." he muttered, putting the conch to his lips and blowing a shuddering, rolling blast that reverberated through the river! At once thin red ribbons began to slide and whirl into view, diving around to girdle the mighty tentacled sea-beast and turning the water around it red in a mass of slicing blades! "I am sorry I must do this, but...wait...nothing!" Wave-Eye momentarily forgot to keep swimming against the current in surprise, massive eyes staring at the dim yet impossible to miss hide "Not a scratch! I have not even scored your body! Well then," he tensed, mind racing for what he could do, "talk to them? no, no good there, something compels him. Make a wall? bah, too big. I must try again" the triton decided, darting nearer and circling over the enormous animal, readying the Red Wave Conch for a second attack.
  18. King of Suits: They all need help. The scene of the drama is one of the Fens' myriad of snaking alleys, testament to the slip-shod planning and building of Freedom City's most ill-fated district. One may well ponder the reasons Dr. Metropolis must surely have for leaving such a miserable place largely untouched, when it would scarcely be without his power's bounds to amend or at least adjust the architecture, perhaps even ensuring the city's infrastructure saw to its needs more thoroughly or else improving the lot of those unfortunate or determined enough to live there. Given that the city is Dr. Metropolis and Dr. Metropolis is the city in a real and definite manner, the strange being may be more human than he appears. The time is 4.07 AM on the ninth day of November, a chill Saturday morning with hours before dawn. Marceau Suvou, as you will observe, is in his disguise as the King of Suits and has just finished disarming a desperate, wild-eyed young man of his broad-bladed knife(generic, cheaply-made and likely forged by someone solely out to make money out of others' aggression, no artistry there) and compelled the youth against the alley wall with his free arm. The intended victim has already made good his escape, that lumpy figure there at the end of the alley. The necessary platitudes follow. "My friend, I don't want to hurt you. But I will make sure you don't try to hurt anyone else, alright?" Marceau's eyes bored into the would-be mugger's, his blue almost otherworldly against their brown. The younger man had at least a head and twenty pounds of muscle over the King of Suits, but the strength and inexorable steel he felt nailing him against the wall had crystallized the message of the last five seconds, when the stranger had stepped out of the shadows and struck him so blindingly quick and solidly he hadn't a chance to prepare before he felt the gloved fingers seize his wrist and spin the knife into the gloom. "Y-yeah! Okay, sure, j-j-just lemme go! I won't try this again I promise!" he babbled, squeezing his eyes shut as if that would make the vigilante go away. Marceau watched him intently, letting a few more seconds trickle by before nodding and stepping back, releasing the teenager who collapsed in a grateful huddle on the ground. Crouching next to him, the King of Suits said calmly and kindly "Where do you live?" realizing that was a little out of left-field he added with a smile "I'm the King of Suits, what's your name?" Looking up the amateur robber's dark face was the picture of confusion "Uh...m'name's Jace, Jace Hill. I d-don't got a home. Left last month, I couldn't take it anymore, man! Livin' there was like hell, you seein' this place, man? Right here?" Jace demanded, getting warily to his feet and pointing at the evidence before the vigilante "This place hasn't been repaired since my granddad's day, everything's falling apart, the windows are smashed, the electricity don't work none unless you count startin' fires as workin', the plumbing's bad on good days, and that graffiti there, with the swastikas? The Brotherhood don't spray that stuff around by mistake, okay King of Fruit? But it beats home. There was...there was nothin' there worth staying for. Everyone there just wants to fight, take it out on each other 'cause they can't do nothin' to fix the world they're stuck in. Dad'll just beat me, and Mom'll give me worse. They'll bring it up and bring it up over and over again how I left and couldn't take it in the big bad city. They'll just think 'm a joke, a failure, helpless like them. Might as well fight with people I don't know 'stead of my own blood..." He glared at the ground and kicked it bitterly, his voice sinking into gloom as his tirade went on. Marceau had been silent all the while, arms folded and thinking. The Brotherhood did claim this part of the city, it was true(and the King of Suits was willing to bet the varying ethnicities were part of the appeal; always someone new to beat on), and he knew from personal experience just how bad life could get in the middle of urban decay. He'd heard this story before too. In fact some of the sentences, the phrasing, was so familiar he wondered for an unworthy moment if Jason and the rest were just grabbing convenient bits from others' lives. Chasing that away with a shake of his head he said aloud "If that is so, why not find help?" The incredulous expression on the younger man's face made him go on "You cannot change this on your own, correct? Otherwise you would have done so though it took years of drudgery. If so, why not find help? You have friends? Comrades you can rely on?" Jace shook his head very slowly, eyes narrowed and lips set. After a moment where neither said a word he broke in haltingly "This ain't somethin' that'll change after a few bucks, mister. It's gone on for years." "Then allow me." The King of Suits smiled, offering his hand "I am not without resources, and I know the city like few do, even those who have lived here all their lives. I can find you job opportunities so many would miss, beat back the gangsters polluting your neigbourhood. I can give you the help you need, Jason. Running away won't solve anything. Oh at first it will seem so, but the problems that will replace the ones you had..." he faltered, eyes dimming. Jason was watching him warily, tensed and ready to bolt, the words were fumbling off his tongue. It all seemed so hopeless all over again. He knew how this would end. Jason would refuse, laugh at him, run off into the night, ten weeks later he would either be dead, doing worse than mugging, or working for one of the gangs that ran like a virus through the city's veins. But there was always hope. It never had to end like that. "...Jason?" "Yeah, what?" "Take me to your family. I cannot give you better lives, but I can give you a chance for something better." The young man stared, his dark skin and hair making the whites oif his eyes stand out in the cold silver light of the Moon. "Seriously? This ain't fightin' crooks, man. Not punchin' those dudes who show up on TV. Some of my folks are...they're ******* scary, man." Marceau smiled glumly "Then we had best start now." "...****, fine. They'll run you off pretty fast anyway. This way. Down to Kendall. Um, King...I'm sorry for tryin' to ste-" "Do not apologize unless you are sorry, my friend. Though we will need to talk to the police, I'm afraid. Lucky I was there, and this was your first try! Nobody bothers with armed robbery in the Fens for a reason..." They passed quickly out of sight and hearing. Thank you for your attention.
  19. Alden smarted a little at not having thought of that first 'Of course, we need to keep people out of danger instead of just fighting, grh' his fingers twitched all but unnoticeably as he glanced back after the departing figure of Net Fly, then he turned back to the two who had been shouting orders and were currently still gathering their frayed wits for action. All at once he launched forward, leaping across the floor and landing next to them in a crouch. With a sharp cry he lashed out with a kick aimed at the larger of the two's sternum(forcing back a hiss when he felt his foot being deflected) and used the momentum to dart backwards and place himself between the robbers and their intended victim. "If you would, Dark Eye!" He called over to Foreshadow.
  20. Using the Damage power of the Conch Wave-Making Array, targeting the Squid with an Accurate Attack(+2 Attack -2 Damage): 25. That would make for a DC25 Toughness save should it hit. Moving to keep pace with the squid if need be. EDIT: Cry I to thee for pardon, Thevshi! I thought the Squid, since it had done that roll, had taken its action. Should have asked first, I'm sorry.
  21. Move Action next to the nearer of the two robbers to get between him and the other , Punching them for a Standard Action: 15. If that hits(somehow), DC20 Toughness save. Using a HP(0 left) to buy Interpose for this encounter, setting a Reaction to interpose on the next attack on the badly-confused man.
  22. With a soft rasp of irritation, the old soldier swung over the mist of mud, his greater speed letting him catch a glimpse of something long and many-limbed that long experience filled in before it began to retreat into the murk. "A squid? This near to the surface? That defies all reason, they're deep-loving beasts" Wave-Eye said to himself, streamlining his body as he swam after it "There must be something controlling it, I dare say it's but a pawn in some larger scheme." Whatever it was here for, it wasn't good, and thus would have to be warded off. The two marine monsters sped through the dark water of Centery Narrows and past the horn of Riverside Park, Wave-Eye not daring to challenge it until he was close enough to really make an impact.
  23. Moving closer(into 120ft., hopefully this guy is not too concerned with small fry!) and waiting until they're properly in the river. Initiative roll: 16.
  24. Contrary to his first impulse, Osprey didn't stiffen when he saw the robbery, though the scream did freeze him for a perilous moment, instead he moved to oppose it. 'Got to stop them, get their attention and catch the bastards off-guard!' he thought, dashing across the street while reaching for the slender wires he carried in his belt, weighted at both ends like the bolas he had seen in innumerable old movies. Leaping through the doorway, he shouted "Got you, ya bug-eyed sod!" as he let fly, which seemed to have the effect he'd been hoping! The man started but only looked up, and the mass of wires flashed as they started to tie him like a whirring spiderweb. Dropping into a ready stance, Alden prepared himself for...whatever was about to happen. Most likely a fight. "Come and get me!" he shouted in brazen challenge, though internally he hoped they spooked first.
  25. Move action into range with his Snare, Attacking the one threatening the old man first: 32. Critical Hit, DC21 Reflex save for him. Initiative roll is: 28.
