  1. Using Flight to zip over to the ship, Super-Movement to Permeate into the Bridge. Then she talks to them!
  2. GM With a quick nod, the team leaders quickly started evacuation protocols, and soon the building was being scoured by security teams not busy making sure everyone was accounted for. Twenty minutes after the doctor had staggered up to them, the Enterprises security chief contacted the team leaders still with Eve. "Rogers here. All the teams have checked in." came the crisp, businesslike voice over the radios "All the scientists coming in and departing were accounted for, but not Mr. Garamond, we can't find any trace of him. The security tapes show him going into his office on the fifth floor at 3.57PM, then five minutes later Mrs. Bridges goes in. We can hear 'em talking for about two minutes, then nothing until 5.00PM when she shouted something, then ran out the door and down the hall. We have no idea what happened yet." There was a brief, awkward silence before the man went on grimly "Sent a couple of men to check the window and doors around there, the window was sealed shut and couldn't have been forced without leavin' some kind of mark. Nothing on the doors either. A search of his files and desk revealed that a whole lotta paper was recently taken. Nothing else has been reported missing and I doubt there will be. Looks like a pretty focused kidnapping and theft here, Blake" he added, referring to the older of the two research leaders "My men are still making sure everything else is in place, but...you know. We'll lock the whole building down by 7, call the police and hand over any evidence or leads we have. Sorry, but I don't think we'll be able to do anything more. On the other hand," the voice brightened "the Crypt's clean! Nothing out of the ordinary and nobody missing there, though I've doubled our usual manpower there, just in case they're next. Work should go on as usual tomorrow unless something comes up." Glancing at the rest Blake pressed the reply button and said "Blake here. Got it Rogers, good work, let us know immediately if anything happens. Good night." Turning to Eve the man shrugged "Sorry this happened, miss. With any luck we'll be back in operation within the week. Thanks again for stopping by. Still..." a deep unease came over his narrow and clean-shaven face "...I'm worried about Steve-that's Dr. Garamond Ms. Martel-and what's happened to him. I can't even imagine somebody so kind and gentle having enemies, or someone so consistently forthright wanting to sell out company secrets. Not to mention that apparently he was taken by ghosts!" the aging Russian laughed nervously. It didn't take long for people to trickle back home, and begin the wait. Everyone had heard that Steve Garamond had been kidnapped, and the same question thrummed through their minds 'Am I next?'
  3. "That's an awesome trick Britannia!" El Heraldo commented admiringly 'Hey, Dama Azul! When do I get to learn how to do that? When you are ready. Which will not be for at least a year or more, and that's if you start surprising me Aw, you're going soft on me, Dama! Why I-I am doing no such thing, Herald! I knew it! You do love me! Hmph! We will talk more when you are not in such a childish temper' Grinning at seemingly nothing, the colorful teen paragon took a moment to realize he was being spoken to, and when he did he looked a little startled. A hint of nervousness crept into his voice as he fiddled with his gloves "Ummmm not...personally? He is named Eldrich and lives somewhere within this great city, but I have no idea where he lives." he looked glum "In sc-during my time as Herald" he corrected himself smoothly, glancing almost imperceptibly sideways at the nearby health inspectors and zookeeper Willis "I have learned he is often busy with things far beyond this world. Could be super-hard to get in touch with him before things get worse!"
  4. GM Kazra fidgeted uncomfortably as she walked beside the three Claremonters "Sure, and I would love to help, but...what can I do? You lot at least have powers and know how to fight armies, the biggest thing I've ever beaten was a raptor!" Glancing aside as a press of well-dressed Romans wandered past them, a few knots of chatting people who looked like something out of an old BBC series pausing a moment to look over the four with something like unease. "Wish I had more than these skins. Bet Zarana could make it look good though" she added with a roll of her eyes. The temple of Saturn was conspicuous by its whiteness, the pillars and walls gleaming even brighter than the temple of Jupiter on the other side of the hill. At the large front doors they met with the high priest and the interpreter sent ahead of them, who upon finding out who they were and what the Senate required hastily agreed to let them hide in the temple and wait for the spy. He led the four into a narrow hidden passage leading to a shelf overlooking the main floor, leaving them quite hidden. "Nobody will think to look up here," he told them confidently "no matter how well they might know the place." Then there was nothing to do but wander the town, and wait for nightfall. Meanwhile, miles away... While El Heraldo was flying back with the news of the army's return, and several letters the Legate had insisted he deliver to the city before her, movement stirred in the treetops below him, seconds before four massive brontosaurs burst out of the leaves, roaring defiance, green light blazing in their eyes!
  5. That hits, because it is an Awesome-sized ship and Jonah Hex could hit it if he had his eyes closed and he was asleep. On another planet. DC29 Toughness check: 40. Invisible Castle, you...wacko. Okay, and now it will try to shoot the Ages Lost with its basic Blast that is nowhere near as Accurate: 9. Misses. EDIT: Oh, and to remedy a mistake of mine, have a replacement HP Blue. Ships are now at Round 2: Ages Lost(Stormbreaker): Unharmed, 1HP Grievance Heart(Phantasmagore): Unharmed-GM
  6. GM Unlike most of their gigs, the audience here remained quiet for most of the duo's performance, though there was the stray enthusiastic clap at a perfectly executed string of the more complex chords, and as Carmen's voice fell from a particularly high note an answering whoop rang out from one of the private boxes and was hurriedly silenced among a chorus of giggles. For all that, the Freedonians waited patiently for the end, for the last echo of the last chord and the last syllable to fall away...to jump to their feet and give them a thunderous applause, gleefully chanting their names and a few giving tentative whistles of appreciation! Celeste Beaudrie joined them on the stage, bowing and waving grandly to the audience and taking a mic from the stands to say "Thank you all very much! And thank you, Carmen and Warren, for giving us a chance to hear such beauty and art. We hope you join us again soon! Give them a big hand, everybody!" she added with a dazzling grin, stepping back and clapping politely as the audience began to happily oblige. The cacophony rang to the ceiling, rumbling like the crash of the sea. Suddenly, cutting straight through the noise, the gentle sound of a piano began. The crowd quickly grew silent, looking around and searching for where it was coming from. Celeste's face grew very composed, her lips pursing grimly. Serenely, from out of a dark corner of the hall, a piano and stool floated through the air towards the stage, the Freedonians crying out in surprise and curiosity, taking pictures with cellphones or cameras and chatting excitedly(and a little nervously) about who this mystery super could be, with more than a few already getting to their feet and making quickly for the doors. Seated at the stool was a young woman with short black hair in a spotless tuxedo, playing a beautiful nocturne by Frederic Chopin. Coming to rest before the pair of rockers, she turned and smiled graciously to them, her hands never ceasing to move in the elegant dance of Baroque music. "Good afternoon" she said in a light voice "I'm Mary, Mary Venn. I was wondering if you fine people would care for a little...contest?" "Say 'no'" whispered Celeste fiercely, the middle-aged woman staring at Mary like someone watching a dangerous animal "Please. The last one..they didn't make it."
  7. Watching the Atlantean vessel burst asunder under him, Heraldo's eyes briefly met the soldier's. Just for a moment, time seemed to stand still, and he saw something horribly familiar in the Atlantean's gaze, something that reminded him of a night years ago when he had first seen the Blue Dame... Tearing his gaze away before whatever it was became real, he heard the man fall, sailing through the air, and looking back breathed a sigh of relief without meaning to when he saw the Atlantean vanish deftly into the water. He stiffened as he remembered "They are the enemy, they're trying to kill us, I have to stop them." turning on his empowered heel, he shot off in a flash of gold, soaring over the sea, following the islands to Puerto Rico. The distances were weird though, he couldn't figure out why everything was so close. Racing over Cuba and catching sight of the danger below, he instantly changed course to swoop to the ground, taking in a massive breath as he descended that he let loose with a furious shout as he touched down, a mighty gust of wind slamming into the approaching forest fire like a solid wall! As the last of it left his lips, he half-turned and shouted at the soldiers <"Come, brothers of Cuba! Together we shall defeat the invaders from the sea!"> 'I hope...'' he thought, turning back to the marching ranks of Atlantis' army, the Banner ready in his hand.
  8. Subito laughed reassuringly "Don't worry El, most of my classmates cheat somethin', 'Least you cheat at somethin' useful." Sipping at his water to wash down the sandwich, he leaned further back to let the meal settle better. The food at Gene's wasn't exactly going to cause problems, but he didn't want to show Elias around with a stomach-ache, and the other boy's much more energetic eating made him that much more conscious of his own. "You make any friends El? When you and your mom were traveling?" he asked with a softer tone than he'd intended "I mean, I dunno, you never mention anybody. And I can't be the first guy to give you the time of day and take out to eat." 'Oh crap, am I starting to sound gay? It is not important if you do. If so, I am sure he will not notice regardless Oh thank God That is perhaps not quite appropriate'
  9. GM "I have no choice but to obey, my friend!" Marceau called back over the din of the slowly dying battle "And by the way...in exchange for that delightful bolt of cloth, I command you to defeat Parsinkle to save him from his rowdy subjects!" he laughed joyously, both at the fact that the battle would soon be won and that Rene's idea had worked! The feeling of iron bands forcing his limbs to attack the rebelling fairies seemingly dissolved, instead directing him inexorably towards the Fey Prince. A much more powerful and skillful throw of a card later, and an enveloping tangle of twisting metal spun through the air in a red rainbow, wrapping tightly around Parsinkle's arms and legs like a steel serpent! Straining and frothing against his bonds the Prince cried "You underhanded wretches! I can't lose now, so close to my life's dream!" His yell was nearly drowned out by the noises of the Rebels leaping onto the food-covered table and savagely taking their weapons to the last two Fey still loyal to Parsinkle, the Redcaps flying out of the small crowd to smash against the wall, laughing weakly before they fell into unconsciousness. Still, the two heard him all too clearly, and the note of frantic rage in his voice.

  13. The triton clicked his sharp teeth together "Invaluable, perhaps, but not to me. Precious little of what my eyes have beheld or my nose has smelt or claws have touched will help anyone. And i never saw Atlantis above the waves," he added with a dull grin "I was born long after it was sent crashing down into the sea. I wonder how that cataclysm happened, anyway..." with a shrug he walked in silence until they reached the great temple of Atlantis, his abyssal eyes taking in the sight of the perilous balance between water and air with quiet awe. "Fighting back the sea with nothing but the soul's power. A lost art. It is an honor to see it used again." he murmured as the high priestess approached them, and he bowed low as she welcomed the ragtag band, smiling despite himself at the word 'mantle', a swell of pride at his heritage seeping into the fishman's spirit. When the watersinger asked where Leviathan was, the green fan-like hair on his head swept back as he drew to his full height. With a grinding gurgle he proclaimed "Dread Leviathan is in pieces, mighty watersinger! The Deep Ones have sundered its power that their vile sorcerers might use it to attack the surface races!" his blank black eyes narrowed until they were only three times as large as a regular human's "The one we questioned claimed that some of your watersingers were in league with them. Your corrupted kin have not the strength for such a deed as dismembering Dread Leviathan, so I think they are at least telling some of the truth." Bowing again at the waist so that his hair brushed the floor he hissed "We ask your aid in this, majestic one."

    Hell's Strings[OOC]

    Make your Perform rolls, please!
  15. GM The other stagehands rushing around the back were quite helpful, taking the time to show the two where to set up their band equipment(a pair of amps, mic stands and a couple of subwoofers), with a few extras hauling out an old but very sturdy-looking drum set. The next twenty minutes were surprisingly tense, as Faust drew to its famed and soul-shattering close, Marguerite's, Mephistopheles' and Faust's voices ringing out as the orchestra gave a final thundering crash, the distant *WHOOMPH* of the curtain falling soon after. As the applause began the stagehands quickly set about clearing the stage's sets, wooden clouds rolling past them on wheels as the singers gradually wandered by to the dressing rooms, laughing and chatting among each other after the curtain call. "Break your legs, dude!" one of the swordsmen called over to Warren cheerfully, a few of the shepherdess ballerinas streaming around them like a white wave around two rocks gave friendly waves and smiles to Carmen, and proud Mephistopheles raised his hat to them and nodded as he strolled into the milling crowd. Then all drew quiet, the stage was deserted, and the world held its breath. Then hard shoes sounded on the boards a few feet from them past the thick red curtain. "Ladies and gentlemen" a voice called out distantly "If you would be so kind as to welcome...the Rockin' Duo, Canto and Wilder!" To a roar of claps, the curtain rose like two wings sweeping to the sides, revealing Celeste bowing slightly as she retreated to a nearby door hidden from the audience, smiling cheerfully and adding her own quiet tap of one hand on the other to the roar of enthusiasm. Hundreds of eyes were soon on the pair, waiting for them to begin. Again the Beaudrie Opera House was quiet.

That is some awesome work on the relationship chart, Thevshi! Thank you so much for putting it together! I'll try to come up with some stuff to make it even better. A very good point. One of the big things about legacy heroes after all is fighting the people their predecessors did. In that spirit, I vote we either come up with a general theme that most of them fit(revenge, aliens, Camelot, political, etc...), come up with a few standouts/main evil team, or leave them for the actual threads. If you guys would prefer another way, I'll gladly defer to that. One idea: quite a bit of psychic stuff going on with Dawn Farrington and a little bit with Young Britannia, so an organized gang of upper-class psionics(maybe magicians?) could be neat, sort of like a really low-grade Illuminati of political schemers trying to make things go their way in Great Britain. They could call themselves something like the Insiders.
  17. GM The Fey barked in pained surprise, then started laughing uproariously as he rubbed his nose, slapping the artist on the back as he dove into the fray! By now Parsinkle was ringed on all sides, harried by stabbing pikes, slashing axes and a few makeshift swords. Parrying a savage attack that would have passed through his ribs, he glanced around, took stock of his followers vanishing beneath the waves of rebels like castles of sand, and reached a quick decision. "Ita Semper Cum Ingratus!" he shouted, the sword in his hand turning into a scything windmill of flashing pan, the red Prince lunging and whirling around the massed packs of Rebels, sending most of those unable to dodge or block his maddened attack to the floor gushing with blood and laughing hysterically, which made the Prince even angrier than before. Meanwhile the few still up and loyal to Parsinkle fought off a renewed onslaught against the table they had taken up refuge on, shouting insults as they were driven steadily back towards the fire. The Redcap who had taken the brush looked at it, shrugged, waved it in the air and suddenly a new gang of Rebels surged into the fray chanting "DEATH TO PARSINKLE!" The Prince paled.
  18. Oh no. DC14 Toughness save: 13. A Bruise. You want to do something with that cloth thing, or what?
  19. The young man smiled and bowed a little as the Blue Dame's power took effect and banished the Maiden's sickness...though the zookeeper's tone when he said 'young man and young lady' made his grin freeze and then contort for a few seconds as he tried to not glower at the man. "We are not-" 'He was merely making an assumption, it is hard to tell how old you are in your costume I assume stuff all the time! And I don't go thinking two people are together just because! Hush, Herald! Now let's answer his questions and solve the mystery' Sliding the Banner onto its holster set on his blue and gold coat with a little more force than necessary, Subito told Willis with crisp politeness "Sir, we have dealt with the one behind this before. Their hideous power to sway the minds of the unwary is a danger even to such as I or Young Britannia and she spreads sickness wherever she goes. From what you've said, you and a lot of others must've been attacked by her to cause the stampede while she escaped..." His grim stare suddenly fell to the ground as he mumbled glumly "...and I think that little girl was the one I got away from the snake. And that she's probably under the same person's control." He looked up with fiery eyes "The snake was innocent, that much I know for sure. Why-Bee-I mean, Young Britannia" he blushed slightly in embarrassment at his mistake "She can tell you about that better than I can. How can we help here?"

Simplest first. Osprey hates him. They've fought several times, though never with any kind of real success against each other, just hampering, though Alden figures keeping the stuff Middleman peddles off the street is a pretty big win. They'd never work together and never have had the reason to. And by the very definition of middlemen there are third parties, mostly the very mysterious Charity, who doesn't seem to be on either side.
  22. GM "Of course, miss Cantos" Celeste said, politely ignoring the glances the two were giving each other "we can provide you with whatever you might need. My cousin Angela is nothing if not thoughtful like that. As for how the crowd is doing, Mr. Wilder" she turned to the young man with something approaching excitement in her voice "They always come to see Faust! It's a timeless tale, and they never leave unhappy. Your follow-up performance lends it a little of the unexpected spice." She all but smiled. Nodding to the pair she set off for the dizzying stairs "Go on in, and do your thing. Break a leg, preferably each others'." She was soon lost in the crowd of stagehands and chatting ballerinas. The door opened a few seconds after she left, and the two were waved in by a lean, African-American bald man with a nametag declaring him to be "ERIC ANDREWS, Director", eyes fixed on a clipboard in his right hand, speaking rapidly into a headset "Nonono, it's left-white, right-blue for the scene flourish...okay, yeah, you got it" looking up at the two he smiled quickly and beckoned them in "Cantos and Wilder, right? I'm Eric, you go in in twenty, ask Neeraf, guy in the turban, about your equipment and he'll help you get ready. Get killed" Nodding and smiling more times than was strictly normal in a second, Eric vanished into a maze of backdrops to talk with a young woman about a river.
  23. ...That is a fantastic point KD, and I apologize for not thinking of the unfortunate message in the first place. Alright, new plan! Through the Freedom League official channels the Emerald Knights contact Gabriel with a request for help with some space science-enhanced rogues of theirs. At the same time, the spirit of Eire appears before Young Britannia, charging her as a spirit of Justice with assisting her champion with a dire threat to the island. THEN they go to fight a massive evil.

Aw, I was so going to have Mr. Evil show up. *sulk* So, as a pretty-low-powered vigilante man, Osprey's natural foe would either be an unscrupulous government agent/agency, or a loathed ruler of some part of England's organized crime. He's more like Man-Bat than Daredevil, a feared and vicious avenger of the night, so contrasting him with a rigid adherent to law and order might not work so well. He often opposes smugglers, so a guy who leads people in that could be a good opponent. Let's say the Middleman: a ruthless underworld figure who has been responsible for several recent influxes of super-tech into the hands of criminals, even some magical artifacts. Osprey hasn't been able to make anything stick on him, and as a middleman he's very well-protected and difficult to get to in the first place. A government agent could make for an interesting clash between the Ministry and some other, much more underhanded, group of operatives.
  25. More or less that! Basic premise: The Emerald Knights send word to Gabriel asking for his help in taking care of a surprisingly tenacious bunch of villains that seem to have extraterrestrial backing. At the same time, Young Britannia is called by Great Britain's spirit to go to Ireland and defeat a terrible threat to the island's spirit. Their paths cross almost immediately, and they have to team up to defeat a massive threat to the Emerald Isle! How does that sound, and what would you two like to bring into the story?
