Subito glanced down, a self-conscious grin playing across his face "Er...yeah, I'm...not...very good at all when it comes to fighting." He grimaced and rubbed the back of his curly head vigorously, taking off and tossing his flannel shirt over the back of the seat. Leaning on the table with one elbow as he ate, he glanced up at Mali "What kinda fighting would you advise for somebody who's pretty much what folks around here call a 'flyin' brick'?" Crossing one leg over the other he looked back at his plate "I mean, I know the basics, but anythin' more than that? I have no idea. Never really had to get better I guess, 'cause my powers let me ignore stuff like 'sucking at not being hit, and hitting'."

"Huh. You need to keep a pretty strict diet, Tiger?" The boy looked downright glum at the idea. He brightened "At least it works out for ya real well! I'd love to do some training with you sometime, Tiger. I bet you could teach me a lot!" He waved a hand idly "Shame you dunno those two, not a whole lot of folks around here though. I think it's only a couple hundred, I bet you'll meet 'em sooner or later!" smiling at the idea of Paula trying to learn absolutely everything about Mali in ten minutes, Subito neatly cut his meatloaf into pieces "You like rock? Well that makes a lotta sense, gets you pumped! And c'mon, operas are all the time full of fighting!" he added with a slightly hurt look "You ever seen Lohengrin? That things all about, like, chivalry and exhibitions of knightly prowess and stuff!" Chewing rapidly he surveyed the ceiling with interest "Hmrghml...any pop bands you wanna reccomend?" He asked with the barely concealed beginning of a smirk.

Supercape, I'm deeply sorry. Stunting an Area Emotion Control power off of his Hope power: rank 5, Area Burst Extra, Limited to Fear. Flying over as a Move Action and using it on the cultists. DC15 Will saves for them, I think.
-
Sorry Jackgar, according to Tiff this thread's basically dead. :(

GM Before the King of Suits could reply(thankfully), the clatter of boots down the hall from them signalled the approach of soldiers! In moments the two heroes could see a pair of young men wearing the sleek and efficient and thus utterly tasteless dark gray uniforms of Dr. Green's private soldiers. They ran with all the speed they could muster, one arm swinging rapidly to keep themselves steady while the other held their firearm on their back by its strap. They weren't looking for any intruders in the hall gauging by their haste and reckless speed, and the infiltrating pair were moderately well-hidden, so the soldiers' casual sweep utterly failed to hit upon them. The duo were charging right for the archway of another hallway at a right angle to theirs, which evidently led closer to the battle outside.
-
And now for the actual stuff to happen then part of. No need to roll for the two just ahead going towards the hallway entrance opposite Our Heroes. DC15 Notice roll please Granspear. KoS's 14. Nay. Catching these folks shouldn't be much of an issue.

Taking a bite of his food he nodded in understanding at what Mali said. "Yeah, totally get ya. It's pittin' your strength n' skill 'gainst anothers' that you like. It's fun to prove that you're stronger or faster than somebody else. It ain't fun proving you can hurt them too." the curly-haired boy declared, chewing contentedly. Glancing at the Thai girl's plate he added with a happy grin "Geez Tiger, you sure put it away!" Stirring the peas around the red plastic for a few moments, more to watch them bounce and tumble around than to keep his hands busy while he thought, Subito abruptly said "Not a whole lot of Buddhists on campus. Met a few voudon people though. You know Milla? Black, pretty tall and slim, wears Hawaiian shirts a lot, always looks kinda grumpy, long thick hair? She's been trackin' me down around campus and tellin' me all about voodoo and stuff after I told her I didn't know anything about her religion." He shrugged as he glanced up at Mali with bright eyes "If you wanna talk about your fait sometime, feel free. Right now though, I think we should start with more serious discussions. What's your favorite kind of music? I loooove old-timey operas. I should take Blodeu-..Cerys to one, I mean" he corrected himself hastily, blushing slightly. Suddenly a thoughtful look came over his face "I should as Kat about putting on a play sometime...Kat's another student, pretty skinny, but real strong, she does a lot of acting."

Subito nodded thoughtfully, checking around idly for any sign of the other book. "Yeah, I bet it's to give some of the other guys a kick in the ass so they'll, y'know, study." He grinned "Not that either of us 'd need that kinda thing. Me and you Kat, we're valdeictorian material." Frowning as he methodically traced the line of books, the boy shrugged his broad shoulders and glanced over at the book with interest. "What kinda folks got involved in Vietnam? I never heard much about that one. World War Two? Oh heck yeah, packed with super-celebs, Koirea had a few, never heard about any in this one though. I guess that's 'cause of the whole 'not exactly a popular war' thing." 'It must have been put back wrong in the fall' he thought irritably, quickly looking around some of the higher shelves 'I wouldn't have put it up high with the Os if the P section was on fricking fire' Shaking his head wearily he pondered what in the world else to do "You want me to go down 'n get some coffee? Pretty good brews here. S'pecially the Columbian stuff!"

"That's great! I like the grand tour as much as the next guy, but three times might be too many!" Subito laughed. The sturdy boy casually leaned against the tree, eyes lighting up as he realized where Thaelia was indicating. "Wow, from the ocean? That's awesome! Ooh! There was an Atlantean girl named Thetis that was here for a few years, she called herself Nereid, was on Next-Gen. Know 'bout her?" 'Her being from the same city would not mean she knows the royal family by name. Be not so presumptive What? Come on, we know the name of the President and like the Queen! This is totally reasonable! I disagree, not the same society for one thing' Rubbing the back of his head and frowning at apparently nothing, the muscular Puerto Rican added "I mean...not assumin' you do or anything."
-
Subito looked blank for a few seconds before he glanced down at himself. And at the thin shreds of cloth he was wearing vanishing in the sunlight. "Oh crap!" Leaping backwards he hastily covered himself with the bundle of clothes, awkwardly looking away as his face went dark red and mumbling "S-sorry Blodeu. Uh...thanks for these. Be right back" before he dashed behind the diner. Slamming against the wall, he wondered briefly about something 'I..wasn't as horrified as I'd normally be. That isn't a good sign, is it? No. It is not. Clean thoughts Herald' Sighing glumly, the muscular boy quickly got the clothes on, grumbling about the tightness of the pants as he jogged back into the stand of trees, blushing again when he accidentally met Cerys' eyes. Stiffly leaning against the tree, he gestured vaguely at the ground, saying with a wince "Could we please not talk about that last part? Like, ever? Last thing I wanna remember is ...well, that. I normally keep all my clothes on in front of girls!" he protested anxiously, looking at Blodeuwedd with pleading eyes.

"You seem to be the one with difficulty understanding!" Marceau barked angrily, whipping a boomerang from his belt and flinging it at the struggling greenish mass on the floor. It struck home, Hunter hearing it but unable to actually dodge in time, but his thick hide meant the curved metal simply bounced off, clattering across the floor! With a snap of his fingers the King of Suits dove away, calling out "Apologies, Catalyst! Next time I shall be more effective." He promised grimly, already drawing a razor-eged card from his belt. He pitied the Grue, obviously he had suffered terribly, but that didn't excuse him "You might not be a monster, Hunter, but you act like one. Stealing people away and making copies to further a mad scheme, torturing your own kind to force them to serve you. If your cause is so just, lay down your arms and surrender!" 'It won't work, but I ought to try...'

GM The Branson Plaza had glass scattered all over it, shattered desks with trashed computers and monitors nearby, crumpled chairs, and filing cabinets strewn about with paper. A police line had been set up just a few meters from the Branson Building, the police cruisers and SWAT vans a discreet distance from the main doors, and the officers in knots carefully watching the skyscraper while the blare of STAR trucks resounded in the distance. The officers nearest the alleyway started at Glow's voice and whipped around, pistols beginning to raise when they caught sight of the two young heroines. "Oh" one of them said sheepishly "Sorry! We're really on edge here." Quickly meeting the pair, they set to work at once to handcuff the two villains, one policewoman taking a moment to stop and talk while the rest began to carry Rapids and Marduk back to the cruisers. "Thanks for that. We started to go in, these two crazies jumped out of nowhere and started smashing the SWAT team into the floor, we only just dragged them out." She paused and looked up suddenly, eyes widening and beginning to grab at her carbine when something slammed into the asphalt nearby, sending a wave of dust and shattered tar flying through the air! The woman was sent crashing out of the cloud and into a car with a metallic THUD. Standing calmly in the small crater of shattered concrete, clearing the dust with casual waves of his arms, stood a towering, muscular and almost unbelievably handsome twenty-something man with long, thick and curling black hair. He had somehow gotten into a spotless and flattering white spandex costume that left his upper arms, neck and thighs mostly exposed, long white gloves that ran from his elbows to his fingers, leggings that went just past his knees and a gold and gothic letter 'N' on his chest. His beautiful and ageless gray eyes smiled down at Glow Warp, and in a gentle, inviting voice he said "Hey. I'm Nephilim, what do you lovely ladies go by?" Glancing at the two in Glow's telekinetic hold he added with a fond smile "Ah, Maria, Darius, you guys never fail to disappoint. Our first job even, our grande debut, and we screw it up because of you two." he shook his head witha gentle, chiding look. Suddenly the smile vanished and he turned to the officers frozen in terror carrying the two villains "So, how about you goons just put these sorry pieces of **** down and run before I crush these welps to pieces?" The police were by now galvanized into action, the apparent captain with a massive mustache yelling "We'll take this guy! Get outta here!" as he fired a shotgun blast straight at the magnificent creature, the shot bouncing off his costume without leaving a mark, or making him so much as blink or flinch.

"You won't be in that kinda danger? Awesome!" Subito sighed in relief, smiling cheerfully at her. "In that case, I bet you can take her no problem! And I wouldn't want to miss you bein' awesome, so you better believe I'm comin' along!" Subito blushed and ducked his head a little "You..you like it when I call you Blodeu? I always thought...nevermind! I just thought you liked it because I was being silly." the boy laughed and took an experimental sip of his win that turned it into a sizable mouthful. Putting the glass down he shook his head vigorously "Woo! This wine's great, we should get some more of it sometime! And I bet I could change you Blodeuwedd" he added with a cocky grin "Though I bet you'd change me a whole lot too." He settled against the chair, resting his head for a moment against the back and closing his eyes meditatively. With a careful slowing of his breath he concentrated on picking apart the sounds around him, carefully separating the chamber music drifitng from above from the chatter of the nearby diners(whose conversation was something that constantly urged him to flush crimson and bury his head in his hands), the cars outside from the clatter in the kitchen, slowly focusing on the gentle breathing and familiar heartbeat of Blodeuwedd. "We should have done this long ago, Blodeuwedd" he murmured "Anything you want to talk about?"

His ear quivered briefly under Agnes' hot breath, the sensation of her closeness commingled with the alcohol in his veins. With a smooth movement, he swept the cards back into his pocket and buttoned it shut with his dark fingers. Turning to the songstress he re-lit his cigarette from hers, raised it as if toasting her, and said "Well, Agnes, I always have been more an Old Testament sort of fellow." Some wit broke through the fog of his mind, and his eyes glanced around "Perhaps this is not the best place to plot, non? Ah, and please," his smile turned as friendly as it had been when he first walked in "Call me Roi, Angel."

GM With a cry of anger Hunter flailed around, his struggles increasingly constrained as the paintball splattered over him and became a consuming mass of foam, trapping his limbs within itself as it surged around the Grue. "You couldn't understand! I have to do this! They will never listen to anything! My brothers were like them, they refused to yield even when caught!" The foam was weakest while expanding, needing that extra give. Hunter tore one arm free and started furiously tearing at the hardening stuff around his leg, a low rumble of mixed grief and rage coming out of the darkness. To Catalyst's thermal vision his body was quickly becoming a mass of red, the shapeshifter doing his utmost to strengthen his limbs. But for some reason, he didn't actually change shape... "The tools I use I use by right! I am...not...a monster!" he was by now almost crying, and almost free.

"Hey there!" A cheerful voice rang out from the classroom doors, the swarthy, powerfully-built and handsome figure of Subito Sondo walked with rapid strides over to the trio of girls across the quad. Catching sight of Tona he said briskly "Hi Tona." Sauntering up next to Cerys he paused for a moment to give the lithe girl a quick kiss on the cheek, turning bright hazel eyes and a friendly smile curiously to Thaelia. Subito was dressed in his usual spotless white t-shirt, blue jeans that looked like they had gone to Hell and back, scuffed ochre running shoes and baseball cap proclaiming the glory of the Freedom City Blades. A light flannel shirt was his only concession to the weather, the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, leaving his muscular forearms bare. Taking in the mood he shrugged and doffed his hat, sticking it in his pants rear pocket. Offering the towering girl a hand he shook hers briskly, wincing appreciatively at her strength. Blowing some of his dark curls out of his face, the boy said "Welcome to Claremont Academy! I'm Subito Sondo, pleased to meet ya! I think I heard you introducin' yourself as Thaelia, right?" Relinquishing his hand he added brightly "Nice grip! You already know where t'go?"

Smiles were something Subito knew a lot about, so he knew in a second that Kat's was more than a little forced. He had glanced away, fighting back a brief stab of guilt. 'Why did I do this? She doesn't want or need guys like me bouncing around, acting like doofuses to make her feel better...' "Just everyone who wants t'know me, Kat!" came the cheery reply, her well-built companion leaning casually against the firm oak desk and returning much more vigorously the quick wave from the grave-eyed and austere young lady running the coffee section of the shop. The two women flanked the entrance and were positioned to be quite impossible to miss. Beck's was a cozy place, all dark wood on the floor, walls and ceiling, with rich deep red carpets and an ornate staircase in the middle leading up to a truly tremendous(albeit cramped) series of bookshelves. Several other shoppers were alreayd there, most of them sitting at the tables around the store and talking over coffee. Becky smiled graciously at Kat's question "Of course young lady. One moment..." taking a pen and scribbling down on a scrap of paper, checking it carefully and then handing it to the young mutant. The title was Paranormal & Parahuman events in the 20th Century, with an added scriggrle underneath it Secret Soviet Histories Vol. 5 Pt 2: Soviet Supers in the 1960s-1970s "Upstairs in the tenth shelf on the left" the older woman said, adding blandly "Unless Subito misplaced it..." The young Puerto Rican was jolted out of his cheerful calm, swinging around with an expression so hurt that Becky had to visibly suppress a smirk. "...Which I am sure he would not do. They are in alphabetical order, lower racks, so no excuses. Best of luck to you Katherine, I hope those help. Let me know if they are insufficient. And make sure the young man behaves, he can be a little excitable." she favored the Claremonters with a a nod and then went back to the massive leatherbound volume she had been poring over. Blushing irritably and leading the way upstairs, Subito whipped off his hat and marched straight over to the bookshelf in question, a faded '10' on its end. "I'll get that Parawhatever book, keep an eye out for a book with gold letters and a red cover..." he glanced back at Kat and rolled his eyes "Yeah, yeah, I know. It's how they did it back then." Scanning along the ranks of surprisngly clean and spotless books in a rainbow of colored bindings, Subito got to the end of the shelves and paused, muttered in frustrated confusion, squinted up at a higher shelf and then launched himself up, bracing against the wall with one powerful leg as he snatched a gray book from a shelf a few feet above their heads, fingers paling as he gripped the edge, and dropped back down with a THUMP. Tossing the book to Kat he asked casually "So...how've your classes been this year?"

So yeah. Seeing as the recent Events of Moving the Site have transpired, I would love to know what people are plotting! Any thoughts on what's been brought up so far? As well, just reiterating that if anyone wants to try their hand at thread-running using anything mentioned, feel free(ask the player who brought it up if it seems necessary), and start hammering out the details! Furthermore: 1. Growth vs. Decay: the Unspeakable One and its cohorts, brethren and children starting to act as some insane counterbalance to the destruction caused by the Doom Coil's servants? (MARVEL Cancerverse nonsense of some variety) Travel to multiple universes, a series? A different kind of madness and evil in each world. 2. The heroes of Earth are asked for help by a neighbouring star through the admiral of the Lor blockade. The people of another world have discovered quite by accident how to cirumvent the Pact and bring their gods back, and need help putting all the beings that have been summoned back in the box. The Lor set a strict timeline for how long the heroes have to get everything back to normal, wanting a quick end to the chaos on the undeveloped world. 3. The Silencer(or another villain, but he works best) approaches a hero out of the blue, begging for help to reform. A trick? Maybe, but what's the harm in trying? 4. A brilliant Freedonian distraught after the Day of Wrath attempts to harness the power of the Cosmic Coil and use it to send everyone on Earth-Prime to another, better universe, where they're perfectly suited and always happy. Of course, the little problem of consent doesn't occur to them. 5. Madcap space adventures, set in a collection of worlds vaguely like the MARVEL STAR WARS comics during the time of the first movies(Cubist, feel free to let me know how terrible an idea that is!), where every pulp sci-fi trope is present and accounted for. Finally, Russoboo's idea of possible friction between Dakana and Atlantis seriously interests me. And since HG_Morrison has an Atlantean character, it might be a good time to start plotting something!

Subito was surprised and, from his expression, a little confused at Mali's mention of 'faith'. 'Wait, is she Christian too? That is unlikely, to say the very least Herald Okay, keep your shirt on Ah, because that is such a recurring difficulty with me, aye? Save it' "You're religious Mali? That's not what I expected" he admitted, the sturdy boy tossing the fork onto his plate, the pointy end landing flawlessly in his half-eaten meatloaf "I am too, but I don't get to talk about it much. Lotta people around school get kinda snappy if you bring up religion. What do you worship?". Stretching his muscular arms behind his head and using them as an impromptu cushion, he observed the powerfully-built girl in front of him, reminded of somebody else. "You can get super-competetive 'bout punching, huh? Yeah, reminds me of my big sis Galanta. She's always liked fighting just for its own sake, thankfully God turned her to the cause of 'justice for the oppressed', so she never got in much trouble 'cause the police always knew she'd only kick sombody's ass if they really, really deserved it. Lucky that she never hurt anybody too bad." Adjusting himself a little on the seat, Subito looked momentarily glum "I owe her a lot." There was a short and uncomfortable silence before he suddenly lunged back into his old position, smiling cheerfully, almost laughing.

GM Kazra had promptly marked herself on the arm, skillfully winding a small length of cloth around the sign and leading onwards to the north. The strange land of towering and haunted jungle trees slowly gave way to a rocky plain dotted with vast steaming pools, a river streaming along the incline to drop down a roaring waterfall into the land of the Jungle Tribe. To the west a dull ochre-colored rock raised like a fist above the trees, behind them to the south the thin blue smoke from the torched citadel of the Jungle Lord drifted up into the deeper blue sky. The plain was of whitish rock like broken limestone, strewn like gravel over the darker earth the pools had sprung from, no impediment to a thin grass. At the edges of the pools a profusion of incredible plant life had sprung up, around which herds of green-scaled lizards gently walked, their stubby forefringers supporting their bulk against the archaic trees while a beaked head adorned with a reddish crest tore massive fronds off branches. Some of them bent down and offered their vegetable catch to children of theirs, mostly concerned with scampering about the feet of the elders with reckless abandon. As the teens following Kazra walked past, some of the adults edged away from the main band, forming a small shield that watched the humans curiously. The young jungle lady smiled and waved, explaining to Cerys and the others "Those are the great horn-birds! We have ridden them many a time through the jungles. Not as quick as some, but of great hardiness!" At their side, squat and broad brownish creatures with indignant-looking and short faces chewed at anachronistic bushes, their back a mass of cruel spikes on heavy plates of armor. tapering down to a heavy tail carrying a deadly mace. These payed no attention to the humans at all. At the far edge of the plain of smoking water, the distant white glint of what was unmistakably a Roman road beckoned, Kazra following its gleam unerringly past galloping bands of the horned ones, and skirting the tortoise-like packs of armored terrors. Just as they had gotten within a few dozen meters of their destination, and were stepping through a thin veil of trees and high grasses however, she halted and dropped flat, motioning for the others to follow, and pointing ahead. "Hunters! Serpent People!" she hissed, and indeed they could see a small group of humanoid lizards carrying massive and clumsy weapons. They and another of their race wearing flowing and ragged robes were walking towards a pack of sleek, vicious-looking dinosaurs with crimson heads gathered around the corpse of an armored giant. Their leader raised his staff, and the predators darted away from the kill, looking sharply at their reptilian cousins. A droning, crooning song came from the throat of the sorcerer as his eyes and staff began to glow, and the hunting monsters stepped slowly forward, heads bowed in submission.

Kat's admission got a cheerful laugh from Subito "Oh c'mon, I'm not near as bad as some of the guys at school. At least I'm not powered by angels!" The stocky boy laughed good-naturedly, landing next to Kat in the snowy alley with much less grace and much more *THUD*, hands in his pockets and head bowed along with his legs as they absorbed the impact. Standing up straight he galnced over "And you just wait 'til I drag you down to the club sometime Katty, I'll show you how laced I really am!" he added with a faux-saucy wink and cock of his hips. Swinging a companionable arm around her shoulders and leading her down the road, he went on more gently "I know what you mean, Kit-Kat. Lotta people are still pretty shaken up about what happened just a couple days ago. I am too. But...I dunno how to make this sound not like an asshole kinda thing to say. If we just feel down about what happened, let it take over how we look at the world, make a senseless, stupid tragedy like that a defining part of our thoughts and heart, we'll just make things worse. We gotta keep going, we HAVE to do what we were doin' before and do it twice as good." Beck's was just a block down from where the two had taken a breather, a quaint-looking store with an elegant sign over the door. Shoulder their way inside, the door ringing gently as they walked it, Subito waved cheerily to the rotund middle-aged woman behind the forbidding desk, who smiled in answer. "Hey Becky! How you doin'?" "Pretty well 'Bito. Good business this time of year. Come back anytime you want a place to work." the woman answered, her voice surprisngly deep and majestic. THe muscular boy's eyes lit up "Thanks! You got anythin' on..." he glanced over at Kat "M'friend's lookin' for stuff for school, she knows what she needs!"

With a brief look of quiet horror, Roi focused intently on the golden beer in front of him. He knew what that was like. All too well, he knew what she was talking about. Taking a sip, he started to think about how he'd felt first walking into that room, the feeling of helplessness on seeing the huddled figure on the floor, the desperate wish to do something...and his narrow jaw clenched. Turning to Agnes he looked the lovely singer in the face. Her beauty and performer's presence had started to get some strange edge from the alcohol, but her story was what sealed his decision. And his fate. In a low voice he said "Agnes...can I help you take those measures?"

Alright. I'd make them the Psions, but I'm pretty sure those guys aren't teenagers anymore. Seeing as Heraldo, Adamas and Errant could be seen as being a little like Porthos, Aramis and Athos, maybe we could do a thing sort of like supers from another school(not a school of EVIL, naturally), who make some insane bet with the Claremont trio? Thoughts?
