"Don't worry, Etain, that's totally where I'm goin'!" Subito assured her with a brisk grin, slinging his jacket over the back of the chair and leaning against it with perfect comfort. Taking another sandwich and holding his plate under it while he ate, he said "But I get what you're saying: why not just go to the big ol' capitol building, which is pretty much the focus of the island's soul 'cause of representative democracy and stuff, and try to commune with her there?" he took a sip of tea to chase down the sandwich, putting the plate back on the table and looking seriously at the young woman "See, back in the 1800s this guy in blue armor walked out of the sea, went up to this mountain called 'El Yunque', and vanished there without a trace. I'm betting something's up there that let's ya cross between worlds!" his excited face suddenly grew a little sheepish as he realized how that sounded "Yeah, I know, it's kinda weak, but if I'm wrong I can just fly t'the capitol. I ain't fast, but I can get there before the Blue Dame repeats herself too much calling me a dumbass." He laughed cheerily, finishing off the last of his tea and pouring out another cup of steaming water, this time choosing a packet of orange tea from the small rolling table. "Haven't tried any place around Freedom yet, Mr. Cimi-I mean, Nick" he added to the necromancer, looking back up a little more shyly than before "but I will before I head back to 'Rico with my family. Odds are good there's gonna be a national day of some kind in not too long." Swirling the tea bag gently back and forth through the water, the stocky teen considered what the others had said. What were the chances that he'd be let in at all? And even if he was, it was being allowed to go somewhere he knew nothing about, where anything could happen. Sure, he was the Herald, but what did that even mean in another world? Would he have to show himself worthy somehow, like any other random schmoe who stumbled in for an interview, do something even more difficult and dangerous because of the power she'd given him? "I do need to." he told Etain at last "Partly 'cause, you know, I wanna get a better understanding of her and what my job is, and also...she won't tell me about that knight through our link" he frowned and tapped his curly head "We can talk to each other with our thoughts, and when I ask her if she knows about 'im, she gets really quiet. So, I'm hopin' that if I go and ask her in person, she'll be more willing to talk. If I can give what she wants in return, I'll give it" he shrugged, saying calmly "Mebbe I'll get the answers I want, mebbe not. If I don't at least try, I'll never know, right?" Sipping his tea a little, he closed his eyes and relaxed against the chair again. Jolting suddenly forward he asked "What kind of rules or dangerous stuff would there be? I've been to the place Fairies come from a couple times, with, uh" he blushed openly and glanced away "this real badass Welsh girl I go to school with called Cerys Pfer, goes by Blodeuwedd when she's out heroing. But I bet a greater spirit's domain ain't anythin' like fairy land."

GM "Nef'fx'ooo" Marduk breathed as he crashed to the sodden floor, slumping into unconsciousness. Right on cue the woman zoomed around the corner, legs blurring as she charged towards Glow's apparently unprotected back. Pulling back a fist and slamming it down on the telekinetic shield, Rapidsfire started leaping nimbly over the girl and tucked in as she prepared to land on the soggy carpet, spending just a second too long starting her arc. "TakethatkidI'llteachyouto-graaaagh!" Warp's entropic bolt struck home and tore through the older woman. Her armor visibly started disintegrating under the ravening bolt of Terminus power, only for an explosion of water to somehow consume the blast. Crashing and rolling onto the floor, the woman in blue at last lay still, mumbling in quiet pain and twitching.

"You know Tona and Sam? Rockin'! I wouldn't call myself their friend, but they ain't bad people" Subito took another mighty bite, chewing quickly and speaking around it "Young Freedom, huh? I haven't heard much 'bout 'em. Who's on it? Been on any awesome missions recently?" he asked with eager curiosity. Teams were a big deal around Claremont, with most of the lighter-hearted students happy to talk about their plans for making it big in the world of superheroics, how they would totally form the greatest team ever and put even the Freedom League to shame with their awesomeness. Subito was no exception, but for now the boy was content to listen, casually wiping some tomato sauce from his dark cheek while watching Mali with bright eyes.

Okay, Rapids moves in to attack Glow once more, Power Attacking (+3 Damage -3 Attack): 19. Hits. DC26 TOU. And Warp's Attack roll please.

That is an awesome idea TiffanyKorta! I for one would love to help pull off such a crazy train-wreck. What kind of territory are we talking about here, by the way? If we're talking about them trying to take over each others' super secret super-bases of secrecy, that'll be a bit different from trying to get their hands on each others' weapons and terrible secrets or whatever. And don't think we're not on to you and your Young Britannia ways! It'd be great to have some awesome British adventures! Maybe she and Britannia will need to gather some folks to deal with some strange attack by magic space aliens. EDIT: Also, one thing I've wanted to do was a thread wherein Claremont students put on a play of some kind, only for an immensely powerful being to send them 'into' the story to improve their performance.

In utter mortification Subito opened and closed his mouth, mind buzzing with desperate entreaties and explanations that soon subsided into a dull rumble of guilt. Following Kat mutely inside the Sweet Bean, he considered for one wild moment if he should just blurt out what he had meant-no. He was in a store, it could wait. Shoulders hunched he walked straight up to a shelf on which were packages of chocolates shaped like stylized birds. "The shell is straight chocolate" he told Kat "brewed like the Aztecs did a lot of years ago. Head's got caramel, feet have coconut, body's got a core of orange and the feather stuff on the wings is white chocolate." he paused, glanced over at her and added bluntly "They're super-good, s'what I'm sayin'." With an awkward shrug he took one of the packages down and straight to the counter, giving the broad-shouldered and handsome young man behind it an imploring look that the other appeared to instantly understand, and in mere wordless seconds he was checked out. With a mutter of "Thanks Chuck, hope your cat's better soon." Subito quickly got the box into one of the store's hatefully brightly-colored bags and led the way out. Back in the crisp winter air he trudged rapidly in silence beside the leaner girl, then suddenly turned and said "I'm sorry. I didn't mean...I wasn't talkin' about your body Kat, seriously." looking apologetically at her he went on "You know how you go into a store like that and you spend ages looking at everything because it all looks so yummy? I do that all the time, it's what I meant, okay?" jamming his hat deeper onto his head he took a deep breath, stared ahead for a few seconds than looked back at Kat "I didn't think how what else that'd sound like. For all I know you've had jackasses like me say stuff like that for years." he commented moodily. 'I mean...from what you've told me, which ain't much Enough, it seems'
-
"Emergencies of love, yeah!" Subito agreed, his smile dimming slightly as he leaned forward and rested his chin on a fist, listening to Blodeuwedd's gentle explanation. Looking at the tablecloth he rubbed his jaw, then looked back up with a wince. "Sorry Cerys, I didn't think of it like that. Every time we talk about your Order's connection to the mystic stuff it...well it's way far off in the past n'stuff. It's not like it's right here in front of me and I couldn't ignore it if I tried" he shrugged and squeezed her hand tenderly. He smiled "Can I call ya 'mistress' instead?" Smiling a little more, he said "I won't call you that anymore Blodeu, I mean unless you actually do become one and stuff! Then I'll murmur it seductively into your ear while we stand on a cliff overlooking the roaring sea while dressed in the flimsiest stuff we can find. Y'know, like normal people!" He took another bite of his food, and asked casually "So, how's Claremont been for ya so far? Finally met that Mali Benjawan girl, I think you mentioned her to me 'couple of times? So awesome." he took an experimental further sip of wine, closing his eyes a little as he savored it "Mmmm...it tastes so..deep...I'm gonna try and help her out with that Thai food thing she's thinkin' of doin'!"

OOC for this thread. The assault on Dr. Green's base, infiltration side. DC20 Disable Device check: 20. Yay!

King of Suits makes a Bluff roll to try and Trick Hunter into attack a place several feet away from he and Catalyst: 28! Hunter's opposing Sense Motive roll: 20. Succeeded.
-
Misses. Heraldo's attack: 16. Reroll(2HP left): 11. +10 makes it 21, which hits! DC26 TOU save: 20. Failed by 6, Bruised and Dazed. Fang is Dazed, so Adamas is up once more.
-
Darting against the rough concrete wall, the King of Suits stared into the darkness and watched with squinted eyes as the dim greenish figure moved deliberately into the room. Even across the floor and looking through night-vision goggles Marceau could tell that whoever they were had every nerve strung ready for an ambush. 'Gah! Our 'Hunter' is so tense I would bet he could catch my cards out of the air and dodge Catalyst's pellets!' he thought irritably, searching the approaching Hunter for any signs of paying less attention to one area than another. Suddenly, a thought struck him quite forcefully about the head and his eyes widened 'Of...of course! If he is so wary, he will seize on anything!'. With a deft movement the King of Suits whipped a razor card from his sleeve, and snapping his wrist sent the card whirling into the wall at a right angle to where and Catalyst were hidden! 'If this works, we shall be able to strike him from surprise!'
-
Quickly diving into the cover of the underbrush, the King of Suits lay still and watched the way ahead with great care. Taking out his small and battered binoculars for a moment he gave the small doorway a once-over before he began creeping forward, keeping his cape over his bright red armor. Marceau was all too used to missions like this. The mist and gentle morning heat was a nice change from the fog and morning cold that he had gone through for several years throughout Europe, but otherwise he felt the same clenching of quiet nervousness of being alone that he had back then. He glanced over at Crusader and put a finger to his lips as he slipped closer 'Not alone' he reminded himself with a quiet smile. This wasn't fighting brutes in a railway yard, but the other man's skill was a definite comfort. Slipping up to the doorway he withdrew a small jumble of electrical tools from his belt, and prepared to get to work. Pausing for a moment he gave Crusader a thumbs-up and a nod. Then he turned to the team's first obstacle, eyes narrowed with concentration.

GM "We are entirely in agreement, Mr. Omen. Just don't let Mr. al-Misri cause any tidal waves if you can help it." Powers said crisply, and without the remotest wisp of a smile he added "I believe a small import and export business attached to a nightclub in West End might have something like what you want. I am, of course, only as knowledgeable as my sources." A quick-marching group of AEGIS agents passed by the briefing room, Gabriel hearing quiet and eager speculation about the 'real' identity of someone called Faraday. Most of them agreed that he must be related to 'the Associates', though a few were obstinate that he had to be a clone of someone. Glancing over at the white-clad mutant with his gimlet eye, the director replied immediately "Anything you think necessary after the briefing, Mr. Gabriel. We'll provide surveillance data, gear, and of course directions and transport if you need it" he looked over the other heroes "We aren't exactly going to be stingy about the armory in a situation like this. So long as you return what you're given, of course. And no MAX armor, not even a piece." he said with a slight note of iron. The director of AEGIS nodded shortly at the Lightbearer's words. Taking a second to check the small battery life indicator on the briefing screen remote, a slight twitch of his right eye was the only sign of irritation he gave before he said to Starlight "Yeah, we have a similar idea." Flicking it deftly between the fingers on his left hand he circled the table, looking thoughtfully at the Grue. "We want to get this done, and we can't do it on our own. The risk that Overthrow could get away is too great. You all know what you can do better than anyone here, and we need people with the power and skills you've got to make this mission succeed." Halting in front of the group he gazed levelly at Starlight "You're not working for me, no. With me. I know better than to think I can order supers around just because I run AEGIS." he grinned for the first time, a surprisingly warm and pleasant smile as the remote vanished with a twirl of his fingers "Captain Thunder's done the Lord's work there. You get information about who's where, what's what and how this all ties back to a lunatic attack on the federal building, not to mention the chance to bring some internationally wanted terrorists to justice, while my people guide the team and make sure everything goes off without a hitch and help keep the world safe." With a sudden flourish he tossed the remote up and down in his right palm, now all business and once again the image of the stern and maimed modern spymaster.

GM "The lordships? Nay, they rarely tread my kitchen halls" the cook admitted, doffing his hat and wiping his streaming forehead to reveal a very bald crown. He didn't seem very put out, however, his bright eye glinting evilly at the pair and the beginning of a grin on his face. With great speed he stretched out an arm and smacked a henchfey stumbling past him, the lean girl nearly collapsing under the weight of an enormous pot from which the delicious smell of pork came "Wrong way, Twinetingle!" he snapped without looking away from the humans "Up north by the coal fires I said! Be off with ye! Your pardon, graces" he added with an endearing smile "but sometimes my minions are simply impossible to manage. Now, you were asking about the lordships and the cellars? Well, Parsinkle is a goodly Prince, he rules well and comes down here every few years to check I lay no plots agin' him" he snickered "As if he could tell if I or any other did, eh? As for the lordship Hartfoul..."for the first time his cheer dimmed, and he looked askance at the milling hordes around his pedestal and reaching off to the massive walls "...he is...a sober gentlefey, of great holdings and little need to worry his old head about such as old Grindwent or his guests, and whatever words we might whisper." that was said more hopefully than sure. Glancing back at his guests, Grindwent grew more cheerful and attended to the second question. "My cellars? They are just this way! Come, follow!" so saying the energetic cook launched off his pedestal and took to his heels, clearing a(messy) path through the mobs of underlings with great swings of his long arms and ladle, hauling René and Marceau after him at a furious rate. All the same the three men took over ten minutes to arrive at the round and rather small oaken door that led down into the cellars. Opening it with a rusty key that ground in the lock, and standing aside to let two young Fey dart out who were hastily rearranging their clothes and glancing at each other with roguish twinkles in their eyes, Grindwent led the way down, lighting the way by a soft radiance that went before him. It passed over an unguessable wealth of bottles, casks, and every other sort of way to keep liquor cool and fresh, the shelves so laden they creaked gently in the sudden quiet. Where their guide went was to some ancient part, down increasingly dim, cobwebbed and dusty hallways where the sconces grew further and further apart, briskly smacking other amorous couples the trio chanced upon and loudly ordering them back to work. Halting beside a small and solitary table, he plopped onto it a bottle of white wine of unimaginable antiquity. Pouring three goblets he smiled at the pair "So! Ye have something in store for our fair Prince, eh? Care to reveal any delectable secrets?" the fey asked with a greedy look in his eyes.

Heraldo had instantly started trying to balance the piles of muscular and hairy Avians, struggling against the constant sway of the Cressida's desperate flight away from imminent destruction. Managing to get things more or less sorted out and occasionally making brisk apologies to the unconscious people, the young paragon took a moment to look out the aft portholes of the soaring airship, pumping a fist in the air and giving a whoop of joy as the mighty vessel's gondola sank beneath the waves. "We did it! We escaped that crazy Madame Vapeur girl's trap, and now we can stop her evil plan!" he laughed uproariously and even got into the mood enough to wave his hat with both relief and giddiness at the amazing adventure. His cheerful laugh was cut short, however, by the sudden flash and thunderous *BOOM* of the detonating gas, flinging an arm over his eyes and clasping his other hand over an ear, groaning in momentary pain before he dared to lower his arms and look back out at the burning debris falling into the ocean. Turning to Lord Steam and Kamil he bowed slightly "Amazing job, thank you so much!" Turning to Cerys he leaped over and swept his arms apart as he gave the young agent a brief and powerful hug. Letting go he relinquished the power of the Blue Dame with a grateful thought of 'It is yours again, O Dame! It is received, well done my Herald.' and appeared in a flash of light wearing his regular clothes. The stocky Puerto Rican boy's eyes danced with excitement. "Alright! Where to now?"

I'm totally interested! It was a good time, and I look forward to where this goes! Thanks very much for GMing this Tiff. :D

Nearly thrown totally off-balance by Kat's sudden energy, only fancy footwork on Subito's part kept the sturdy boy from falling. Quickly getting in step with his schoolmate he walked briskly, deciding that this was as good a conversation as he could hope for. Her..reactions though...'I shouldn't have said that. It's pretty much flirting with her, and giving her the wrong idea right now is...it's just cruel One way to solve that would be to become gradually less intimately friendly while still being supportive to Kat, distance without simply shutting her out ...Alright, I'll do it' Adjusting his cap as they walked down to the shop, Subito's limbs swinging freely and easily, the boy kept quiet for a surprisingly long time, waiting until following Kat into the brightly-lit chocolate store to say "So, what do you wanna get?" He grinned at the girl "I mean, besides half the store." 'OH CRAP, why did I say that? Well, since you asked...'

GM Dr. Green's Volcano Base, July 2012 Voltage had transported the two-member infiltration team to a small entryway at the back of the volcano base, which was mostly used as a sally port for the patrols the island's grandiose former ruler had scheduled for every hour of the day. It hadn't helped him much, something Dr. Green understood fairly well and had incorporated into his own defense strategy, keeping the soldiers mostly inside. The steam from the dense and thriving jungle that draped all over the island hung in the morning sky, with the morning sun just rising over the horizon. The fortress clung deep into the side of the mountain, almost invisible in the dark rock. Getting inside was obstructed by a small and inexpensive keypad, a rather visible door, and the defense system that the previous owner had constructed and Dr. Green had improved upon.

AA, you think Freely's post is a good place for us to fade out on, or would you prefer all of them to make their "Let's get down to business" posts, then close? Or however you'd prefer to end this.

"Well, it's better'n Katniss! Or Katwoman! And I do like your coat, it makes you look really cool." Subito protested, though he was grinning too "And what's with you and saying "Don't lie"? S'that your catchphrase now? Are we a comedy duo?" he laughed cheerfully and slung an arm around her shoulders, giving her a quick hug. He was deeply relieved that she was so relaxed, the last few times he had seen her, she had been much more tense and driven. Kat's question was very pertinent, however. Taking hardly a moment to think it over, he said promptly "We've got a while! About-" he checked his watch, then nodded "-twenty minutes. Enough to do a little, but if you wanted to get right to those douchebags, it's cool." At the question of if they were going to be up to something he shook his head, patting Kat on the shoulder reassuringly "The gangs are just waitin' at a parking lot, then they'll go to an alley a little ways away when their dealer shows up. If you want any suggestions, there's a chocolate shop pretty close t'the intersection of Grant and Roosevelt." he smiled hopefully before he suddenly realized how that sounded, looked rather embarrassed and added quickly "Uh! I mean, um, not in a...uh, if you want, I mean..." he blushed at looked away, unconsciously mimicking Kat's rub at the back of his head.

El Heraldo's initiative: 6. He's surprised alright.

Answering the wave with a fruious wave of his own and a cheery holler of "Heyo, Katsup!" Subito soon jogged up to his schoolmate, the rigorous training of the Claremont Academy and Alan Archer meaning he wasn't even short of breath. Crossing his powerful arms behind his head, the young paragon did some brief stretches as he spoke "Lookin' good tonight, Kat. You got anythin' you wanna do before we get goin'?" he added casually, glancing at her outfit "That's a sweet coat, by the way." Swinging his arms back down, he straightened and stood at ease, blowing a quick puff of steam from his lips up at the sky. In the cold winter evening his dark skin took on a bizarre blue tint. "It's just down Roosevelt, then a couple blocks down on Grant. They've been super-careful, but I doubt they'll expect anything like you an' me." he declared with a confident smile on his face.
-
"Aw, c'mon El, I know you'll take it all in stride. And only kind of get back at me." Subito replied blandly. Stirring the fire a little, he smiled hopefully at the other potential story-tellers, declaring "Okay! So, unless Elias tosses some awesome story outta his skull, he can be the neutral and impartial judge." Siting up on his haunches he leaned his upper body on his knees. The stocky boy added to Cerys, deciding it was time to shake up his nickname repertoire "That's a kick-awesome idea, 'princess'! I bet we could make a chair! It could be a good camping thing to do, right Mr. Landis?" he looked brightly at their chaperone before returning to the other students, the flickering campfire casting crazy shadows and flares of light across the small party. "So! How we wanna do this, order of name, whoever wants to go first, or what? 'Cause I got a great one," he laughed cheerfully "but I'm seriously curious what kinda stories Sam and Tona wanna tell."
