GM "Of course. I am a gracious and kindly ruler, after all. Guards!" The Queen tossed her jeweled shoes into the lake, snapping her toes as three of the armored Fey stepped forward and released a small boat from the side of the barge, escorting Nisien and Cigfa into it with great ceremony and stature. As she passed by the younger agent, Cigfa's fingers flickered Nisien thinks it will take Dyrnwyn four more minutes to arrive. I believe he is underestimating. Use discretion. Aloud she said "I hope you have a good time, Blodeuwedd. Keep an eye out for sunlight on the stern, it can shine in your eyes most dreadfully." with that and a tight smile, the five soon disappeared into the mist hanging over the lake. "Oh indeed it will take some doing. But i am patient, and water wears down the mightiest rock. Who do you think would be most willing to talk?" she asked mildly.
  2. Looking almost horrified at Morgan, Subito protested "Man, you know I wouldn't do that! I've cleaned carpets too, it's a pain in-" he hastily swallowed the rest of that sentence, both because Millie was standing right there and he wasn't sure what language was appropriate in front of her, and right then Etain appeared. Briefly marveling at her elegance and eerie grace, the young paragon realized that he should probably say something, and cheerfully proclaimed "Hello, Ms. Etain Maher! I'm very pleased to meet you, 'specially here!" He fell in beside her, adding casually "Also super-glad you turned out not to be a vampire, some of the guys at school were really wonderin' that." That was quite true. Etain's reserved manners, old-fashioned style of dress and speech, habit of walking on sunny days with a parasol and pale skin had given rise to a serious rumor that she was some kind of vampire. None of the students who knew about actual undead put any faith in it, but the more credulous and inexperienced students like Subito were more easily taken in. Glancing at the tray he smiled thankfully "I'd love to talk this out over tea! What kind is it, if it's okay for me to ask? You've met a lot of spirits Ms. Maher?" He swung around and asked Nick while walking backwards "Have you done a lot of work with national spirits, sir?" He looked deeply curious, though that just made him look even more excited in his current state of giddiness. He practically danced with every step that sank into the carpet.
  3. GM René burst in, the door slamming into the stone wall and making a bang like the crack of doom. Springing apart from their affectionate embrace, the familiar red-garbed prince Parsinkle almost drew his sword, stopping in his tracks when he saw who it was. Replacing the half-drawn weapon he smiled his usual bloodless smile, beckoning to the old human and saying "Greetings friend! René de Saens, this is father's friend and my wise advisor, Hartfoul" he gestured to a short and incredibly ugly Redcap, with a face like wrinkled walnuts that had been beaten to death as an example to the rest of their kind, and ears so battered and cut they hardly resembled ears at all. His cap was of a darker hue than Parsinkle's, but the same strange smell came from it of dried blood. He wore simple brown robes trimmed with ermine dyed red. "We were just talking about you two" the older Fey said blandly "A pleasure to meet one so close to us as you are, René. What about our scheme did you wish to know, before we drive you to your inevitable fate within it?"
  4. Subito darted to attention when the anachronistic('And...ghostly? This place is crazy.') maid showed up, smiling nervously and casting about for an answer when the man in black strolled in. Whatever Subito had expected a magician to look like, it certainly wasn't Nick Cimitiere! Blinking in surprise at the tall, handsome and relaxed looking man in leather, the stocky teen gaped before hastily recovering himself, stepping forward and offering Nick a powerful hand, face beaming and eyes shining with excitement. Finding his voice he said "Hi! Y-are you Nick Cimitiere?" he asked with a note of profound awe, pronouncing the last name in a distinctly French way. "Morg's told me all 'bout you and the folks here! Have you really been to the afterlife? Di-" he suddenly blushed and stopped shaking Nick's hand, all but scurrying backwards and bowing with an arm behind his back "Oh great and mighty Nick, my name is Subito Sondo, an' I'm a classmate of your comrade, Morgan Crowe!" peeking up from behind his lengthening black curls which he blew out of the way, he added with a tone of quite embarrassment "Uh...that's not how this is s'posed to go, is it?" He suddenly jerked up, turning to the maid with a cheery "Hi Millie! I'm Subito, if you want any help around here while I'm visitin', don't hesitate to ask me!" the bulky Puerto Rican offered hopefully.
  5. Thank Heaven, that would have been hilariously silly otherwise.
  6. Hello! So after talking with TiffanyKorta, I decided that since dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals are amazing and cool, it might be good for some characters to see them in the wild. What better place to observe them, I thought, than in the LOST WORLD? Zandar, the Jungle Lord, has sent an invitation to the Freedom League offering to show young heroes the wonders of his world. Two days in the Lost World, seeing a world where savagery is held back by might of arms and where dinos crouch behind every tree! With all the terror and peril such a place contains ready to spring upon the wary and unwary alike! So 3-4 Claremont students, El Heraldo and Blodeuwedd included. PL 8-10 or so. It's a very straight-forward and simple adventure that borrows some from the Culling arc of the nuDC Teen Titans(that is, the heroes go to a place with dinosaurs), and continues the tradition of Claremont students going to the Lost World for crazy happenings! Post away if you are interested or have additional ideas!
  7. Yeah, sorry. Using it for the immediate recovery check option.
  8. "Yes but-" Heraldo began, flustered by Walsh's adept movement of the young paragon from the stage onto the frozen ground. He was taken quite off-guard and wasn't exactly itching to start a fight with an unpowered middle-aged politician in the middle of a rally, and so irritably kept quite besides a terse "Glad to help sir." as he was directed by the state rep. to go guard the Freedonians not currently staring down a quintet of T-babies. He adjusted his hat with a vicious tug as Walsh returned to his soap box, sheathing the Banner on his back 'Thank God I grabbed this, would have looked awkward if I'd had to go back for it'. Gritting his teeth he realized 'DAMNIT, I probably just made the situation WORSE! How is that possib-oh right. Well at least I did not have to point that out'. He set out irritably for the densest of the clusters of steaming Freedonians huddled together despite their winter clothes, and was wondering what he should do now when he heard Blodeuwedd's voice rising above the throng. Changing course as subtly as he could while dressed in an archaic costume that had most of the primary colors and carrying a flagpole, Heraldo strode across the frozen earth over to where Gwen stood. Folding his arms behind his back and smiling politely he said to the young woman "Hello, Gwen. Did you want to ask me something? I'm afraid my knowledge about this situation is very limited." With a burst of steam from his lips he pushed his hat higher up, winking cheerfully at Cerys.
  9. The cacophony exploded on Subito's ears, and for a moment he felt the hideous power behind the Maiden, heard its voice and savage nature in her cry. The patriotic paragon was filled with a desire to run, to punch Malaise as hard as he could and fly, never stopping until he could no longer see the loathsome marsh. He began to disentangle himself from around the luscious Maiden, but was stopped very suddenly by both the remembrance that Young Britannia and Broken Crow were still there, and by Madame Malaise's glittering eyes when they met his. All of a sudden running was foolishness, fighting was a waste, and his qualms were unfounded. With a drowsy feeling of unreality he murmured "Oh lady, what is your wish? How may I-" the world jolted, and he realized dimly that something was very wrong with where his thoughts were going, the uncomfortable knowledge that he was treading close to something unforgivable nagging at him. Confused he went on "-learn such power as yours?" he asked smoothly, giving the captor of Earth's Master Mage and ruler of the swamp an unfeigned loving look. Cuddling against her smelly, unwashed robed body he winced 'HERALD. ATTEND She's so wonderful.... Good, you listen. Something is wrong, the power this Madame Malaise wields is unlike any I have seen in this land. Give me time, and I can get you free from her grip! But..but her pulsing, wild heart and lovely- Yes of course, keep her talking her voice...like the honey from her tongue... At least you're not Galanta, she would have thrashed this woman by now.'
  10. I would suggest having at least one or two other powers in the base Magic Array outside the Device, just for those times when it might come up.
  11. GM "Director Powers' offer does involve deputation, yes" Agent Anthea explained briskly "and thank you for joining us, Gabriel! We would like all of your assistance on a very delicate and dangerous mission. Please step this way." she said, leading the group of heroes up to the 23rd floor of the Federal Building and knocking on 'Stewart Bonham's office door, stepping in for a hasty conversation over the phone before ducking out, the only words caught by the assembled heroes being "...leaving Irons in. Thanks sir!" the trim woman shut the office door behind her, pocketing a small key after re-locking the door, and ushering the group to a battered and somewhat ill-smelling mens' restroom with a sign on its door declaring that it was "OUT OF ORDER", with a message in peeling paint to use the other restroom on the next floor instead. "Not glamorous, but this elevator is faster" she said by way of explanation, beckoning to the other agent who promptly put a slim rod on the wall next to the door. "Sound-dampener" he muttered to Gabriel and Young Britannia, who happened to be closest. Forcing open one of the the stall doors the AEGIS agent tapped at a keypad behind the toilet, humming cheerfully to herself as the agonizingly-long passcode was entered, and the wall suddenly and serenely turned around to reveal a clean white chamber, with a ring of steel hand-holds at waist level. Stepping inside the vessel and making room for the heroes with some difficulty, the Agent punched the button labelled 'L2'. The doors closed to reveal that they bore the halves of a stern-faced painting of Director Harry Powers as Uncle Sam, pointing at everyone inside with the subtitle 'I want you to deactivate all communications devices not tuned to AEGIS frequencies past this point!' With a sudden rush of movement, the descent began. "So, any questions?" the two agents asked in unison, their faces schooled into grim severity.
  12. Marceau had watched and listened to the young lightning-thrower with great attention throughout the speech. He always liked listening to others talk( something that did wonders for his social life), and the fact that the guy was outlining a plan to invade the castle of a mad scientist made Voltage's elaborations downright exciting! Glancing at the hologram again, he mused on the odd coincidence that Dr. Green was building his attempt at taking over the world on top of another's failed glory. There was something gloomily poetic about the situation. In answer to the electric genius's call for any comments, he said brightly "I am quite prepared, Voltage! I have all I need, and taking more would just be a burden. I have had the honour of working beside Stormbreaker, and trust entirely that you two can deal with any half-baked le puissante that Dr. Green can pull out of his hat!" He looked cheerfully over at Crusader "If you need any of my weapons for an especially tricky foe, don't hesitate to ask! I have plenty of spares." he said with a grin. He glanced at the island hologram "I hope that volcano is quite extinct, it would be a shame if all the evidence was destroyed by a convenient eruption."
  13. DC27 Toughness save: 15. Failed by 12, so Staggered, Dazed and Disabled. Blodeuwedd is up!
  14. GM "I am not allowed to say." Burkehardt got back to his feet, looking blankly at Myrmidon as he supported himself by one rigid arm on the table holding the vase. "Any further information will compromise site security, and run the risk of revealing us. Our experiment must not be halted or discovered." He looked for a moment at Blodeuwedd before adding "All clones here are so programmed, even commandants. Questioning for specifics is fruitless. My greatest work." Shrugging his shoulders he removed the long jacket, tossing it over a chair as he examined the burn mark in his shirt "I will of course defend myself if you attempt further violence. This is as far as I can help. I am sorry, brother" he added blandly "but all I can say is..." his face contorted as the shot blazed into him before suddenly it was smoothed, and the clone stood silently. The blast left a smouldering wound, which didn't help with the smell of burned wool and flesh.
  15. He ain't talking Semi! Round 1 Myrmidon: Unharmed, 3HP Burkehardt Unharmed-GM Blodeuwedd: Unharmed, 2HP
  16. Recovering from the Daze, and now his Initiative roll: 27. Well then. Roll Initiative please Semi-Autogyro, and we'll commence!
  17. GM Jessica was just outside the theater all throughout the fight, nearly frantic with terror for Kat at the sounds within, her fears not helped by the news that her friend was totally missing from the building. She had called the police immediately, and helped see to the evacuation of the few stage-hands and other employees hadn't made it out of the back rooms, not daring to go anywhere near to the main stage in case she was used as a hostage. One of the STAR squad-members had caught a brief glimpse of two figures up in the rafters, though description was impossible. That news was vague, but enough to make sure that Jessica wasn't nearly as unrestrained with her relief on learning Kat was unhurt the next day as she might have been. Martin's wounded ankle had healed magnificently during the next few days, the props that had been damaged in the Silver Scream's sudden attack were easily replaced, and the play had resumed production once Eldrich placed powerful wards against Lauren repeating her attack on the theater. After the nasty shock of having an all too-real ghost invade, Fred's 'trick' for when the apparition in the cemetery raised not a few hollers and cries of terror from the audience, though his rather more gentler reading made the ghost's scenes much more assuring than they had been before. Once again, Kat and Jess revealed the judge's shadowed past, bringing the evils of he and his son to light! Once more, the audience cheered on the final confrontation, and saw the wicked punished the innocent rewarded. Once more, the cast was assembled for one last curtain call!
  18. Following Morgan's lead, Subito removed his neat shoes and stretched the toes of his socks experimentally. He could feel his feet sink into the deep carpet and barely constrained a gleeful smile at Morgan. "This place is great! S'like all those mansions you read about rolled into one. Who's Millie?" he asked with sudden interest on his swarthy and cheerful face "Is she the housekeeper or somethin'?" Leaning against one of the couches, he settled in to wait a while for one of the other occupants. "How'd you guys get a place like this, Morg?" he asked suddenly, looking bright-eyed at the young runemaker "Must've cost a bundle!"
  19. The patriotic paragon was almost about to bring himself crashing into the man of steel when Elias unleashed his surge of psychic violence, dropping their foe wailing onto the roof. He froze in mid-leap, staring in quiet horror as the enemy was brought down, unable to think of what to say after such a brief and vicious display of Errant's beliefs. He shrugged and managed "Good work Errant, he was a tough one." Suddenly seeing his schoolmate's injury he started with horror, and immediately placed the Banner on his shoulder, babbling "I'm so sorry! I should have fixed that up before, I just didn't think..." a gentle smoke curling around the young psychic and healing his wounds as the Herald babbled. Once that was done he leaned on the flagstaff, looking at the prostrate Nano Man. "So...what was his deal?" he asked anxiously, suddenly adding "are there more? Of him that we need to deal with, I mean?"
  20. Stunting Healing 5 off of Heraldo's Impervious Toughness. Using it on Errant.
  21. "Good shot." Wave-Eye said gruffly, but with mild approval, the simple but effective trick warming his heart. "I will go in through the front, perhaps they will not expect it. At the least they will not expect us." He grinned "Tell me the wisest course you know, and I will follow it." Sliding gracelessly across the open way towards the warehouse, he took up position by the front doors, giving a short wave to let the other two know he was ready to barge in and start laying about with all his watery might. His ears twitched as he listened carefully to the wind, and his eyes shone luminously in the dark, even though the jade color had been dispelled.
  22. "See you around Kat!" Subito called cheerfully after the girl, beginning to go back to his own swim before noticing her labored strokes. Glancing at Cerys the stocky boy wavered for a moment, then swam gracefully under the lane-divider up to his schoolmate, quietly supporting her with a powerful arm across the rest of the pool. Leaving her at the opposite edge he told her "If you come back when me or Cerys are here, feel free to ask for more help. She's a great teacher." he assured the lean mutant with a warm smile. Deftly going back underwater and resurfacing in his lane, he gave her a quick wave before resuming his swim, hoping that would work off the nervous energy that coursed through him. 'Why am I so jittery? What in even the world? Well, your lady-friend is right there, to begin with... Don't you start!' When he was close enough to the young agent he asked Cerys casually "What do you think of Kat, Blodeu? She seems pretty nice."

    Noir one-shots

I am. I'll get a PL6 version of King of Suits up in a day or two.
  24. The Banner fell from Heraldo's slackening hands with a resounding clatter as it struck the floor, rolling partially under the hospital bed. Panting heavily, the young hero smiled at Meddows before the pat on the back sent him sprawling to the floor, where he lay very comfortably. His hat rested partially under his head, the rest of it waving grandly at Glow and the two men. In a weary but cheerful voice he said "Anytime, sir. But if I may say," he added, raising himself on his elbow "pretty sure I'm the sidekick here! Glow, I'm sure you can take it from here, wake me up when we need to go, or if the good captain wants his officers healed too." With that, he dropped neatly down and fell silent, only the slow movements of his chest signifying he was still breathing.
  25. Hookay, seeing as Heraldo IS a minor and all, going to at least try not to fail that. Besides, what would Blodeuwedd think? DC20 Will save: 17. Nope! Since Madame Malaise is already playing upon his emotions, he falls quite soundly for her.
