DC19 Toughness save #1: 3. Fiating a reroll(3HP left for Kit): 11. Dazed, 2 Bruises and Injured. DC19 Toughness save: 1. Fiating that doesn't kill the Silver Scream, instead driving her wailing out of the theatre and back to her cinema, to haunt it once more. Her illusion drops around the exits and entryways. Out of rounds.

Struggling visibly not to laugh at Tona's story, the Puerto Rican boy replied "That's pretty good! I didn't know she did stuff like that, she must be a lot of fun to be around." he looked thoughtfully at the treeline just before Tona's last words rang out into his ears. He lowered his gaze at the ground as he nodded slowly, murmuring "I...yeah, that would've been quite nice. Not that we'd do much, but it's always nice to talk to her about stuff like spirits, monsters and weird stuff like that." There was a brief silence as he considered the idea, smiling despite himself. Suddenly coming back to the present, with a sudden blush and a mutter of "S-sorry, I..um..so, any part of this I can help y'with Tona?" he asked hopefully, a light-bulb seeming to appear over his head as he added hurriedly "Ooh! Also, I wanted to know: you know the Bowman? That guy in the Freed League? I was wonderin' if you'd ever thought about being Arrow." he frowned "...Huh, sounded better in my head."

Subito's fingers froze in mid-cut, and his smile vanished at Cerys' serene exposition and then Sam's short and sour insult. 'Wait, what?! Why would she do that? You cannot see it, Subito, but I am grinning right now. Don't you start! No, you are right. This is too soon, and I can bring this up for months yet!' He looked positively crestfallen for a few moments, more at the revelation that Sam had been lying to him for no reason he would have understood than the mild derision she had thrown his way. Insults weren't exactly foreign to him. Glancing over at the girl he said "No hard feelings, Sammy. If it makes you feel any better, I was totally convinced" he added crisply. Gathering up the salt tin nearby, he carried it with great care over to Tona, handing the container to the archer with a smile, nodding over to Sam discreetly(for him, at least) and asking in a low voice "She...does Sam do that a whole lot?" He sat down next to her, watching her work with great interest.

GM Warp left the Silver Scream spluttering in anger as she realized the deception, too quick to hear the shower of old-world invectives the historical harridan threw her way. Outside, the streets were already crowded with frightened and excited Freedonians, held back by a small band of officers politely making sure nobody tried to get into the building. Just down the road, she could see the flashing lights, and in the air sirens wailed. The greater number of Freedom's Finest(a STAR squad van evident among them) would soon be there in force. The Silver Scream was perhaps surprisingly uninterested in Kit's crisp declaration of her intent to destroy the ghostly diva. Instead, she was focused on the significantly less important part of the girl from hell's speech. Putting her hands on hips crumbling to ethereal ash she snapped testily "Yes, I attacked her the first chance I got. She is an atrocious actress! Her and her preposterous friend deserve to be driven from the stage!" the shade of Lauren glowered at the tuxedoed illusion of Kit "Besides, at no point did I do anything that would have harmed you. I just wanted to come here, kill the daughter of an old friend of mine for being a terrible actress, and leave!" pointing theatrically at the rafters the ghost snarled "But then her sweetheart goes and challenges me! I will destroy her mind, send her soul tumbling down into the depths of Hell from whence she and all her kind come!" she glared at the ceiling for a moment before turning back to Sam's mouthpiece with a swish of unearthly fabric, the flames having reached her face and hair by now. "As for you. Do you imagine I am so easily chastened, Ms. Vance? I am not about to cower and scrape at the threats and challenges from some wet-behind-the-ears illusionist whose sole attack barely scraped me!" she narrowed her spectral eyes, the blue fire charring and smouldering her flesh and hair as she announced "I will easily find you, now that I have heard your voice and know your face, and when I have you, you had best prepare to beg for a quick death. You forget that you are alone, as your friend has used her powers to escape and leave you in the lurch, and that this is my domain!" Her terrible eyes flashed with mad delight.

DC23 Intimidate check, using Intimidate as the counter: 31. The illusion of her continues to be incinerated. Intimidate check to try and demoralize Kit: 23. Well then. Move Action into the rafters. Round Thirteen. Warp: Unharmed, Fatigued, 1HP Kit: Unharmed, 3HP Silver Scream: Bruise(x1)-GM

GM Commandant Burkehardt opened his mouth to say "I do not think that is a wise plan, brother, you s-arrgh!" he cried, clutching his chest as his face almost became a rictus of agony, the horrible sound and smell of flesh burning under an energy bolt clear even to the pair wearing their helmets. Sinking to the ground, he stared up with an eerily calm expression, though blank irritation gleamed in his eyes. He opened his mouth, and after a few short, painful gasps, he mechanically asked "Why? We would not have killed you if you had revealed yourself. We want the same thing as you. Only your comrade" the blue needles swiveled over to Blodeuwedd "would have needed to die. To secure our secret. None must know we are down here. Our great experiment must proceed, if we are to stand against the Overfather."

GM The two heroes arrived just before Young Britannia unleashed her blazing lance of light, the attack slamming into the OVERTHROW agent with a flash of golden power that lit up the surrounding hallway to an unbearable level..for one second. The flash was joined by a sizzling and a roar of pain as the controller of shadows visibly rippled, the darkness that played across his body trying to escape before it was incinerated in the light, which burned the man's pale skin too and left a smoking hole where his urban camouflage had once been. "I...grugh" he said weakly, his once defiant head dropping onto his chest as he slumped a little in Asad's grip. His body still jerked and struggled however, and it was clear that he wasn't out of the fight yet.

"Keep aware of where the blade is? Okay, I can do that." Subito nodded, gently beginning to practice slicing through the meat and gauging its position by touch and the resistance of flesh. Holding the bit of fowl aloft on the knife he grabbed the salt tin with a deft movement, tossing it into the air and shaking a fine measure of the crystals onto their meal, neatly returning it to its place with another flick. "I suppose there is that," he admitted "I mean, I probably would have said somethin' in just a couple days, but I didn't want to act like I was in some kinda hurry." He shrugged, smiling warmly at Elias "Anyway, I get your meanin'." The stocky teen's eyes practically lit up when Sam mentioned that there remained the chance of trouble, and with ancient ghosts! "Aw man, that'd be awesome! And I bet we could totally deal with a few ghosts from the dim recesses of past ages!" he said with complete confidence, glancing over at Cerys as his voice took on an admiring tone "After all, it's not like we haven't got a whole bunch of people real experienced at it!" He smiled cheerily at the well-traveled redhead "Have you met many ghosts, Sam? I sure haven't!" he said with a laugh.

"You are in a maze of walls, all alike." Notice roll: 19. Yep.

The sudden hiss of breath that rattled from the chests of both flesh and steel didn't do much for Heraldo's nerves. He carefully slowed his own breathing, forcing his overactive imagination to not tell him about all the horrible things that might happen while facing a man carrying nanomachines, directing all his attention and power into the task of keep the steel man still. His muscles grew taut as ropes as he set himself squarely, centered for any attempt their man could try to make for his escape. The problem with such powerful straining of his arms and chest, not to mention his legs, was that he was soon sweating despite the cooling air. His gloves became increasingly slick, and the cloth of his sleeves was growing unpleasant. "How's it goin'?" he called out "Found anything about him?" he asked, his voice filled with hope.
-
Alright then. Maintaining the Grapple on Nano Man.
-
Anything that Heraldo could do at this moment?

GM "That is because you aren't in the moral right, whelp!" the Silver Scream snarled, filmy flames crackling around her charring ghost body. She sank closer to the ground, eyes flickering around at the rafters on the false assumption that was where her enemy had gone. "And I am rarely so badly treated, yes" she added with contemptuous air "Most of the time those who I fight are genteel enough to talk me down instead of burning me to ash!" she waved at the slowly crumbling body, as her illusory self below the seats vanished. "What sort of witch are you? Also, if I might ask, what have you done with that Katherine Shade chit?"
-
Huh, that'd be pretty cool! So, a soldier in the [X} military who was already interested in Akkadian/Sumerian/Babylonian spirituality, and say on a tip from some citizens about robbers attacking a protected ruin, accidentally calls up the spirit of Lotan to empower her to defeat the overwhelming force, then gets sent back home or whatever Freedom City is to her because having random supers in the army isn't a perfect strategy?
-
"Yeah, those riff-raff and their raff-riffing" Subito acknowledged with a smirk, eyes darting around the hill's crown as he searched for the hidden sanctum of Freedom City's less well-known mages. 'Should I be doing a thing? Making a flare? Some kind of sign? Morg's not, but...crap, this is bad.' He had to admit however, as he peered about, that Morgan's explanation was quite sound. 'They keep hidden, makes it harder for people who wanna hurt 'em to start doin' that at their base. Also makes sure random people like me can't just walk right up and leave bags of mail at the door' he was considering how exactly to ask the luminaries he was about to meet about his problem, when he was jolted by the other Academy student's question. 'Oh.' "Huh?" he asked, looking like a deer in the headlights before he recovered himself, looking sheepishly askance at Morgan "Oh, uh..I was talkin' with John Smith in a study group, and I mentioned this question I had about, well, my spirit the Dama Azul. He said he didn't know much about magic or the workings of spirits. But he also told me about a necromancer he'd met once, who apparently works a lot at Parkhurst Hotel, who could probably help." Looking now straight ahead and at the footpath they pair of teens were proceeding on, he concluded softly "And he said that you and Ms. Maher worked with him, so I would be wise to ask you for a meetin' instead of blundering around on my own. And then...here I am!" he said brightly, turning a slightly weakened smile at the other boy. The excitement was more than a little feigned by now. A feeling like an ache in his stomach kept happening when he remembered the meeting, and what had happened. Nearly stumbling over the front porch, he rubbed his shin with a wince, saying ruefully to the rune-maker "Ow. So, do I need t'be blndfolded magically, or how does this work?"
-
Starting at Sam's wholly unexpected voice, Subito looked over at her excitedly "Really? That's good research, Sam. I thought the closest place like that was miles up south!" It never would have occurred to him that she would say something like that, and not be absolutely truthful. Intently watching the chicken as he cut it with one of the clean knives, he asked the young gentlelady adventurer "Is it anything like that Happanuk Hill place? I've heard that place has some kind of weirdness goin' on." '"Some kind of weirdness", Herald? Are you sure you want to say that in the presence of one who carries the memories of the Taino?' he paused, frowning for a moment, sighed and corrected himself "Sorry, sorry. Shouldn't have said it like that, I know. I've heard that that place has some kind of powerful spiritual presence around there." he said with great deliberation. "You met that Morgan Crowe guy around campus, Sam?" he asked with a hopeful smile "He's pretty into mystic stuff, I bet you'd have a lot to talk about." A worried look suddenly came over his face, and he said quietly "Uh, you don't think we'll be in much danger of disturbing them, do ya?" 'This is sinfully funny. Whatever, mom.' "Hopefully we won't need to worry about endin' up in a ripoff of The Shining."

I'm going to have to do that thing now with Heraldo and Warp that I was planning to do. Anyway, she can't make that Notice roll normally. 20. Nope. Silver Scream Moves ten feet below where she was before. Round twelve: Warp: Unharmed, 1HP Kit: Unharmed, 4HP Silver Scream: Bruise(x1)-GM
-
Well, I suppose technically yesterday where you are it was your birthday...but still! May you see many a glorious return to this time of year, each happier than the last! :toot:

The King of Suits stopped for a moment, quickly swallowing his surprise that he was even being listened to 'What? "Why should I believe you"? That's where he wishes to go-very well, let's see what we have.' he spoke slowly and clearly, his faint French accent a little stronger in that moment of fairly deadly stress as he strove to talk down the man holding a gun to another man's neck. "The reasons you should believe me are these: first" he held up one of his gloved hands, clenching his left fist and raising his thumb "the Grue we recovered are badly injured, barely able to remain conscious for more than a few minutes at a time. They will tell us what they can but in their state of mind it won't be be more than the basics, things that your master has doubtless already prepared for. Second" he raised his index finger, stepping a little forward "by now we will have asked them for whatever information they have, and they will not be capable of derailing your plot any further, so seeing them is pointless. Third" he raised his middle finger, blue eyes shining with a barely-concealed anxiety "if you proceed past here the security systems will easily deal with you, whether or not you have a hostage." he dropped his hand to his side, looking closely at the clone. "The choice is yours. I have told you what I can. What do you wish to do now?"
-
Now then, another Diplomacy check, opposed by the clone's Diplomacy. King of Suits: 28....Huh! Clone: 3. Okay, now I just need to make it really, really convincing.
