GM Subito turned fully to Serge, looked him in the eye, and replied "That's entirely true, Surge. Entirely." Pavor nodded gravely at what Victoria had said "I understand that problem all too well" he said with a weary sigh "My mother suspected that the schools we went to were full of propoganda, and insisted on making me and my siblings study long after our schoolmates, learning about the dangers of too much love for the state. I, for one," he added with a strong note of jocularity "had no idea that statism was such an omnipresent terror! Not a week went by but we read about the failures of the few to do justice to the many, sometimes re-reading the same parts of the same book at class and at home!" he laughed heartily at that and Broma grinned outright. Galanta and Subito rolled their eyes almost in unison. Rodrigo gave no sign he had heard anything from his uncle, instead focusing on Serge, asking him quietly "What you said, about how even advanced super-science relies on a firm grounding in the more well-known sciences...what about the ones that for lack of a better word supersede mundane sciences?"

GM There was dead silence in the room Gabriel was in, though from the other came the sound of several bodies hitting the floor. An electronic voice said "Rubber Burner? Blackout? What is wrong?" Mrs. Scallop had just managed to cover her ears in time, frozen in no little terror and staring up at Gabriel with her hands clasped over the sides of her head. At last regaining her composure she got up from the desk, nodded quietly to the white-clad hero and quickly got on the phone. "Hello, police? This is 2471Cyrus St., the Double Decker building. There are four supervillains here that were just caught by Gabriel, could you come collect them please? Thank you ever so much. Good night" she put the landline back in its cradle, saying to the hero "They'll be here shortly. If you'd like I can supply a freight truck to hold them in until the police arrive." With a sudden explosion of plaster and broken wood, a robot that looked like it had been put together in a scrap heap came storming through the door, pointed at Mrs. Scallop and said "Francine Scallop, you have violated the terms of our agreement. Your life is forfeit" one eye twisted over to look at Gabriel "Please do not interfere."

Storming into the river, muttering and snarling all the while, Wave-Eye bound his legs together, and in a flash of light they were transformed back into his powerful dragon's tail. He stopped to watch Temperance's attack, scowling a little when it simply bounced off the creature's thick hide "Allow me to try" he rasped, ducking underwater and speeding like an arrow towards the towering beast, halted when he was right next to it, called out "Hrach! Leviathan! Face me!" drew his Conch, put it to his lips and uttered a mournful roar that shook the river. A mighty blast of red-streaked water shot out from the Conch's mouth, hurtling towards the Aspect of Leviathan and slicing, gouging and slashing at it like a thousand weaving blades! It stirred up the river mud into a cloud that briefly hid the monster, and roiled the water around it for dozens of feet. Wave-Eye kept up the blast for several seconds before he had to stop for breath, panting a little as he stared into the settling murk. "Show yourself" he muttered "I'll not leave you for those infants on the shore to deal with..."

GM As she passed by the still-noisy yet distant pavilions and stages that held the Battle of the Bands, the tracks became increasingly blurred together, until they became a narrow charred streak in the grass leading towards the river. It led through the grassy peninsula, ending sharply at the riverbank, with only a small burned patch in the shape of a rounded boot toe slightly submerged. No other signs of passage were to be found anywhere on the shore, not so much as a rock disturbed.

"Morgan's right about the third floor, at least." Subito commented as they went down the stairs and headed for the hazy light let through the glass-fronted doors "Headmaster Summers tells everyone who comes here that they should never, ever go into the room on the third floor. Something really important or really dangerous is in there, I'll bet." he shrugged his broad shoulders "A lot of the other students here are really serious about trying to get in there, maybe they'll succeed while you're attending Claremont? They're bound to figure out a way in someday" Holding the door open for the small group as they went out, he glanced over at the nearby gymnasium with a bright glint in his eyes. Turning to the new arrival he gestured to it "If you want to do physical extracurricular stuff, there's lots to do! With Bowman on the Freedom League, there's this archery club I know that would love to have you. The gym is over here" he began to lead the way along the short path to it "if you want to keep yourself in shape. It's got everything!" he put great emphasis on that word, with an enthusiastic grin on his face "Just, everything you need. Weights, pulleys, acrobatics bars and hanging stuff for swinging around with. If you want to do Parkour stuff, I..guess you'd need to go out into the town, but other than that if you want it, it's here." He declared, opening the door for the tour group, thinking to himself 'Who was her guide supposed to be? I'm gonna find them and make 'em apologize!' Once they were inside, he led the way to each of the various mechanisms Aaron Cage had devised to help keep the new generation of superheroes in fighting trim, demonstrating how each piece worked, showing the various settings for the dexterity testers and projectile-evasion rooms("Be ultra-careful about 'bullet-force'"), the hanging bars and trapeze, the shifting rock wall, and lastly the weight room, with which he had a great deal of familiarity and affection. After the quick show, he leaned against the door, pushing it open as he asked Cerys "So, you want to check out the track field? The Auditorium? Ooh! Have you gotten a room assigned yet?"

The sensation of being teleported by Edge was nearly stomach-twisting for Wave-Eye, the reality-warper's power playing merry hell with the laws of the universe for a perilous second as the eclectic party appeared on the Atlantic beach, the sea monster distantly audible in the distance. The triton had arrived in the horizontal posture he adopted when swimming, and thus fell heavily onto his face in the sand with a muffled snarl of surprise and anger, his thrashing tail transforming with a flash of light into his muscular legs, which he used to pull himself roughly up, glaring around in momentary confusion before realization dawned. Turing to Edge he said simply "Very kind of you." then turned his black-eyed attention to Philos. The Farsider('A shame...') seemed excitable, and very, very chatty. He listened with mild amusement to the man's cheerful ebullience ran on, before he said Narrowing his eyes Nochehuatl snapped with a gurgle "I am a natural thing, mortal. I am a triton, born of the mighty goddess Chalchiuhtlicue and a human." Seeing the passport his scaled eyebrows raised, and he glanced back towards the city, gears turning. 'I could...! No, no. That is not my place here, the others did more anyway' he bowed a little stiffly to Philos, saying "Welcome to Earth, Philos. The Freedom League will be glad to speak with you. If you would, follow these others and they will take you to Freedom Hall. Edge, Jubatus, thank you for rescuing this man. With your permission, I will go and kill that monster in the bay for you" he glanced over at the massive beast, a powerful twinge of unease at the prospect.

GM There had been a lull in the conversation among the Amddiffynnwr seated at the tables closest to Blodeuwedd and Subito, several eyes turned their way at the unusual and unexpected offer, and the young agent's elaboration and suggestion. Supervisor Medraut had been paying close attention throughout, saying warmly "An intriguing plan, children. One that, if successful would work out splendidly for us all." Wiping his lips with a napkin that he then tucked under the edge of his plate he set down his knife and fork. <"I am, of course, expecting that Subito will be fully briefed on the afanc's capabilities and habits, agent Blodeuwedd"> he added with a stern look towards the girl in question <"Something as delicate as this requires a thorough understanding of the situation, something I know you excel at"> he smiled kindly before returning his attention back to the meal at hand. The picnic went on for another hour or so, with the parties finishing by twos and fours, clearing their dishes and garbage into bags or coolers, and beginning the short hike down to the lake...

Darting away from the lashing tentacle of the monstrous sharktopus, Wave-Eye considered his options. 'I cannot calm this beast, and it clearly is fascinated by the ship, which as far as I know is still inhabited...but if it is attacking me after those minor cuts, perhaps I can make it focus more on me with deeper ones...no. I must keep it from attacking at all. What could I...I will hold it still!' Waiting for his chance at an opening, he leaped forward in a stream of bubbles from his powerful tail pushing him towards the beast, raising his Red Wave Conch, putting it to his lips, and blew a very different note through the shell, calling to the water and threading it with the narrow streaks that followed his will. With a sonorous roar he surrounded the sharktopus with a whirling torrent of water that immobilized its limbs, pinning its tentacles against its body and holding it still within the reddened sphere. 'As I live, I hope that holds' he thought to himself, continuing the groaning song that bent the water to his power, watching the aquatic monster's eyes with his own. Above him, he heard the cracking whine of bending metal, and looked up sharply, anxiety gnawing at him as he saw for the first time the ship slowly being crushed. 'Please, High Ones of the Teotl, do not let this be a mistake...'

The tracks run down to the riverbank and then vanish, with no other signs of disturbance nearby.

Subito had stared in silent awe as he and the other two boarded the airship, taking in its magnificence as best he could given his limited understanding of how such things worked. He had asked Serge about buoyancy and how the bag of lighter gases kept the thing up, and had a vague idea about how they worked, but the bronze-looking armored thing he walked up the ramp into looked far too heavy to work. 'How does it fly? I'll need to ask, Mr. Steam w-window seat!' his eyes had wandered slowly around the vessel's retro and rather beautiful interior, finally fixing on the neat and comfortable leather couches placed next to the round windows. Clearing the space in a moment and tossing his small bag to the floor near the seat, he landed with a bounce on the couch, staring out the window with glee as they soared up gracefully into the air. Flying was something that Subito loved to do. His powers had very strict locks placed on them, and going for joyrides was completely forbidden. Turning to Blodeuwedd as she entered the vessel he said softly "You ever dream 'bout flying? I do it all the time, now that I can. This.." he gestured outside to the passing sky "This is what I'd love to do sometime" he sat with his face all but pressed against the glass, brown eyes shining with delight as the ship sailed northwards. After an hour or so he reluctantly broke away from staring out the window enraptured, joining the other two. "So," he asked casually "we're going to go to this base the Avians have and ask them about these weird statuettes?"

GM The police arrived shortly, and needed only the bare minimum of explanation for what had happened before warmly thanking Tenebrous and Crow for their efforts in capturing the Crusaders, hauling them off to jail in preparation for their further punishment under the law, Farridah going along as a witness. It was a short trip to the apartments, a quick jaunt over a few back-alleys seedy enough to give even some criminals pause before walking down them, across a courtyard reeking with garbage left there for years slowly mouldering to nothing. The tenement building was a surprisingly prominent fixture in the Fens part of the skyline, an ornate wire sign bearing the name 'Blanche Heights' with neon tubes winding around it, lighting it up in blazing green that could be seen for miles around. It was, however, infrequently used and visited in the modern day, its heyday(such as it was) in the 1940s long past. It stood in all its rambling, towering iron-grey brick glory under the clouded Moon, with faded white paint peeling off of the sheltered corners. Most of the barred windows' lights were off, though the upper floors were always at least somewhat in use, the raucous noises of some kind of party in there filtering out as a mess of undifferentiated sound of blaring music and vague laughter. From their vantage point above it, the three could make out several men standing under the decayed awning that clung over the door in a punctured mess, watching the streets with a casually dismissive attitude. No people were standing around in the alley behind the building, just as Frank had said there would be.

Well, now that he more or less has the thing's attention, Wave-Eye is going to grapple the thing using his Move Object power in the Conch. Attack roll: 13 with Inspire, 8 without. Regardless, rerolling(0HP): 25 with inspire, 20 without! Grapple check: 37!
-
Alright, jumping down into the bay. Moving through the water(250ft. out to sea). Supercape, Wave-Eye doesn't actually have any HP left, he used it to reroll an attack roll. Anyway, Fatigued, so if I Surge for another Move action he's going to be Exhausted. Instead, using a Standard action to begin using the Move Object power of the Conch.

The Quartet's Initiative roll: 5. The Guards: 17.

Roo, you still want to try and see if there's anything suspicious going on within Jasmine's sight? I ask because you asked earlier if that was an option, and I said yes.

"Yes, we have a direction now. If you would be so kind, Tenebrous, lead on to-oh!" the King of Suits was interrupted briefly by the sudden outburst of precisely-applied violence from Crow against the Crusader, watching with mingled admiration and sorrow at the fury the boy seemed to hold within himself. 'The poor lad! I'll have to find out what made him this way' he thought sadly, glancing at Frank bleeding from his nose on the asphalt. When he was done cowing the Crusaders, Marceau stepped forward, carrying their impromptu informant back into the larger group of would-be killers, all of whom hurriedly looked away as he got close to them. With Frank deposited he turned to Tenebrous and Crow "As I was saying, Tenebrous, lead on to Blanche Heights!" he called over his shoulder to Farridah "Mr. Sallhid, please keep a close watch on these men for us." With that he drew his grapple gun, ready to follow where the glowing black entropy-wielder led.

That hits them all, and their TOU saves: None make it! Out of rounds.

Diplomacy roll: 19. Eh. IC is not Herlado's friend anyway.

Starting noticeably when the pilot woke up, Heraldo took a moment to realize what he was saying, and when he did he angrily ignored the man until he was tossed unceremoniously into the cell. Then he switched to Spanish <"If your boss gets to Mexico, we'll catch him there! If he's still here, then we'll catch him here! We will find your master, and everyone who stands by his side will fall with him!"> he glowered at the taller man, wishing the boots his transformation gave him put him at a higher level, making do by flying the few extra inches above the ground in a nimbus of golden fog. One hand on his hip, the other holding the Bandera over his shoulder his eyes narrowed <"If you're so confident, then how about you let The Serpent prove himself against us? Where is he? I won't even ask you what guards him, just tell me where he is. Let's see who's tougher!"> he finished with a savage grin. 'Kristin will disagree with this profoundly, Subito' 'FINE, let her! I don't think this will work anyway, I just wanted to say it!'
