  1. His enormous eyes and hard scales sensed nothing for a long moment, and he was about to dismiss the sudden jolting as one of the wretched water spirits having their idiotic sport when the commotion started. The dull thud of the tentacle curling heavily around the ship whirled him around as if he had been spun with a whip, and he stared in stunned awe of the monster floating before him. His jaws moved for a few seconds while the hull bent and began to crack, while Jubatus grappled with the giant coiled limb and Philos tried to escape from his metal prison. Then Edge's words rang into his ears. "Yes commandant!" he barked on impulse, wincing as he remembered that he wasn't any longer in one of the submarine armies. Drawing his conch he quickly surveyed the monster, looking for a good place to tear at the creature's hide, lighting on a patch of less thick-looking skin. He darted towards it through the murky water, putting the ancient shell to his lips as he swam nearer, he forced tears from his eyes, taking a quick breath before suddenly blasting a mighty rush of slicing red-streaked water out of it, the streaks slicing and slashing at its skin from every direction like a swarm of blades. "I am sorry, for you are like nothing I have seen in hundreds of years" he called out sadly to the beast "but I must keep you from that thing!" he declared in a stronger voice.

  3. Subito blinked furiously when his telekinetic schoolmate tore a hole in the roof and unleashing a blazing hammer of sunlight down on their enemy, sizzling the flesh of the vile vampire and sending her shrieking out of the tank and down the dimly-lit hallway. Bursting out of the bloody water Heraldo began to charge after her when he realized: 'The Deep One children...' Quick as light he turned on his airborne heel, rocketing after the snake-man with in a swirl of golden mist. Catching up to the fleeing man, he landed, took a deep breath, and let out a furious roar that trembled the glass display cases on either side of the two, trying to throw his foeman clean off his feet! "We won't let you take those children! Let the Deep Ones come and claim them, they'll not be used as your pawns!" he shouted enraged at his enemy, blood still hot from the battle in the shark tank.

  10. GM It took a minute for the redcaps to realize what was happening, but the flames soon drew their attention and anguished howls, the goblin-like Fey breaking ranks as they desperately sought to put out the blaze consuming their tents with whatever containers of water or smothering cloth they could lay hands on, their squat forms silhouetted eerily in the dancing firelight. In the confusion, the few Fey still guarding the camp were wholly unprepared for the sudden attack of Parsinkle and his own soldiers, who suddenly leaped out from behind the trees lining the camp and quickly charging the scattered clumps of watchmen, knocking them down and binding them with long cords as they struggled and bit at their captors, but not managing to do any damage to the rapidly-moving band who kept a surprisingly low profile in the now-riotous clearing. That said, the guards were soon missed all the same, although the panicking redcaps that went searching for them did little good besides joining their comrades in captivity. One of them, however, got the chance, space and breath to shout shrilly into the air, loudly enough that everyone could hear it "It's PARSINKLE! Save yourselves!"
  11. GM Some of the soldiers serving the OVERTHROW almost managed to resist the solemn might of Gabriel's words, struggling to fight against the deep and sickening sense of despair that was slowly crushing them. None managed to last more than a few seconds, though. The spokesman looked like he was about to start crying, saying weakly "But...I thought..that we could change things here..." he slowly collapsed to the ground, wracked with miserable sobs, followed by the others, one of whose dropped guns misfired as it hit the ground with a clatter of metal, blasting a corner off of one of the nearby benches and sending a spray of marble dust into the air. The snipers on the roof were shocked into action by this turn of events, and raised their powerful rifles to try and fire on the treacherous negotiation team when Asad zoomed past them, quickly drawing their attention and fire, sonic booms cracking the air as they fired desperately at the flying man. Out from behind the pillars where they had been hiding themselves unaware that they had been found out long ago, the OVERTHROW agents carrying rocket launchers raised their own weapons and shot grenades at Asad in a blazing salvo that screamed through the air, aimed right at the namesake lion emblazoned on his chest. Starlight quickly found her guard crouched next to the door of the bathroom, diligently checking over her well-worn M16 rifle, silently examining every part of the gun while glancing up quickly at the windows and hallways. Omen distantly heard frantic shouts from above on the deck of the ship, and dockworkers below him and his four opponents shouted various indecipherable things at the five people charging each other on the ramp, and then dashed off to get help. The four ignored the ruckus, and attacked. If nothing else, the fight would certainly resolve the issue of what would happen to the briefcases.

GM The arrow whizzed through the air towards Blue Jay's distended opponent, the man twisting his head out of the projectile's path at barely the last minute and glancing back as it thudded and bounced across the sidewalk into the startled and retreating crowd. Looking back just in time to see the young archer dash behind a car Pawn said "A poor choice of cover, not least because I can easily remove it." So saying he dragged the arm laying on the ground back into a more or less human shape, eying a neatly-parked van sitting just behind the car Tona crouched beside. Lashing one arm around its front and the other around the back, he lifted the entire thing into the air with ease, hefted it, drew it back over his head and with a burst of violence flung it savagely into the auto shielding Blue Jay! With a mighty crash, the two vehicles collided, only for the van to prove unable to so much as budge the car, which by some miracle wasn't even scratched by the heavy impact. Pawn blinked "Good car." he said with no little admiration.
  14. GM Without further ado, Dr. Green dashed out into the jungle behind the abandoned hospital, his footsteps cracking twigs and rustling undergrowth as he hurtled onwards to some place he thought safe. He ran without a backward glance. With nearly synchronized movements the two minions of Dr. Green charged forward, the flickering one suddenly darting aside in its path and lashing out at Stormbreaker with an arm that had gone from merely difficult to see to wholly invisible. The slashing movement proved to be indicative, the attack cutting a thin slice across her upper arm as it swung past. A breathy mutter of disappointment followed the strike, obviously not what the creature had been expecting. It wavered in the air, preparing for another try. The metal man simply bashed into Voltage, slamming its shoulder into his chest with wild abandon and leaving a darkening and painful bruise, a grating sound coming from his throat at it separated from him and leaped into the concrete hallway, blank metal eyes staring at Thomas along with the rest of its immobile face.

GM During the brief exchange between the two Claremonters the conversation around them in the crisp air had gradually grown in ease and volume, Blodeuwedd's question about possible information the Caer Dathyl might have sparking a thorough review of the recent movements of the Order's Twylyth Teg allies. <"Last I heard our Otherworld comrades were investigating the matter, but the stirrings and thrashings of the Afanc only began a few days back. Not time long enough for them to find anything"> Medraut said thoughtfully, delicately removing a slice of flesh from his trout, which got halfway to his mouth before one of the other agents, a tall broad-shouldered man with long and leonine black hair looked up from his soup and said shortly <"Not so, Mr. Supervisor. Just this week I found traces of a fairy path like those used by our allies only a few dozen miles north of here. Judging from the trail they were tracking something. I think we will hear from them very soon."> Medraut raised an eyebrow at that <"Thank you for that Agent LlÅ·r, that was unknown to me."> he nodded gravely to the larger man, who ducked his own head in recognition and went back to his soup. At the table Blodeuwedd and Subito were seated at, a towering and rawboned woman with a shock of reddish-brown hair and piercing gray eyes was chatting idly with a shorter and considerably more rounded woman wearing a suit and bowler hat. <"Hey Branwen, I heard that there was a disturbance at the reservoir, a battering and smashing noise near the center of the water. Here, look at this"> taking out a tablet and putting it on the table among the plates and bowls of food, she tapped one of the icons that brought up a file of pictures, zooming in on one showing a scaled back glittering with narrow spines, with the tip of a broad tail poking out from the frothing water. The other woman inspected it with care for a few moments, nodding and saying firmly <"Aye Cigfa, I have never seen one like that, usually they never show their backs."> She glanced over at the two teenagers, smiling kindly at them as her friend began scanning through a collection of other similar pictures, none as clear as the one she had first shown however.
  16. GM "That's great to hear! I'd heard that old Morry had gone running off for some reason, glad to hear he's okay." With a sigh of relief the security guard nodded and opened the door for the two supers. "Come on in, Gabriel. She's just upstairs and through the first door on your left. Evening..uh..sir?" he offered nervously to Wave-Eye as the duo walked in, shutting and locking the door behind them before returning to his post with a wave to the Southside hero. The place was alive even at that late hour, the sounds of loading and unloading audible at least dimly throughout the building. Mrs. F. Scallop's office was easy to find, the small nameplate on the walnut door being the biggest clue. Knocking on it got a dispassionate and distracted "Come in!" A thickset and rather powerfully-built African-American woman turned out to own the name in question, sitting behind a stout desk and busily checking over a large stack of delivery orders, matching them against the files displayed on her computer's monitor. With a dour look up at the pair she asked crisply "Evening gentlemen. To what do I owe this?"
  17. GM This much closer to the terrifying young man, Frank gulped nervously as he stared up at the imposing iron mask. At last he found his voice. "There's three doors. One for the staircase up to the lobby, one for going down into utilities, and the third leads to the back alley. There are windows, but they're pretty small and don't open. W-we tried. A lot." Gulping a little and hastily trying to moisten his mouth for a few awkward seconds, he took one hesitant glance around and then launched into more explanations. "I don't know if there are any garages attached to the place..." he saw Crow's look and desperately protested "Really! I don't! You gotta believe me!" shaking nervously he at last mustered the courage to add "None of the guys came in their cars, we didn't want to risk being caught in them so we left them at home. White Knight can fly, so that's how he gets around. We haven't posted any watches, you could probably take us all in without much trouble if you distract the big guys first." Hope dawned "C-can I go?"

"Hey!" Subito protested in mock outrage "Just 'cause I can split a boulder with my skull alone doesn't mean it's thick!" he turned back to the meal and thumped her heartily on the back, adding more seriously "B'lieve me, if I can keep from telling anyone about your family and their heritage, I will. I promise you that." He smiled reassuringly at Cerys before continuing with the deeply serious task of demolishing the pile of food placed before him, which he did with consummate enthusiasm. He kept his ears open as the meal went on, though he knew that his..limited knowledge of Welsh folklore and myth made him more than a little unfit for the task of figuring out what was stirring up the Llyn Brenig Afanc. 'I wonder if they have a nation-' 'Britannia.'
  19. Knowledge(Streetwise): 24. Alright then.
  20. GM The heavy troopers rounded the bend with evident caution, their ponderous steps thudding slowly on the floor and echoing through the hallway. With a sudden spring, the leaped into the middle of the passage, their gigantic weapons trained on the disguised figures of Blodeuwedd and Myrmidon, fingers on triggers and legs crouched for another spring. When they actually saw the duo they relaxed noticeably, standing back up at their full height, clicking back on their miniguns' trigger safeties and shouldering the oversized firearms as they approached with lighter steps. `"Oh, it's just you two. We were worried something had happened"` one of them said through the helmet's eerily mechanical-sounding radio link. He turned the featureless helmet towards the janitor's closet for a moment before turning back to the two disguised heroes. `"It sounds like your naudiz beacons activated. Care to explain?"` His comrade leaned idly against the wall, though his tight grip on the small cannon over his shoulder spoke quite loudly about how convinced he was thus far. By now the scattered thudding footsteps beyond the walls was coalescing into a definite marching pattern, the new influx of soldiers getting into position and preparing to repel the intruders.
  21. The King of Suits winced at that. He knew that problem all too well. "In truth, that is not possible, Tenebrous. To make a prison totally inescapable is currently beyond anyone's competency save God's. There are too many things that can go wrong even before they are incarcerated. The vehicle carrying them could be hijacked, they could be teleported out, they could leave a perfect duplicate of themselves in the hands of the police while they go on their merry way, or even just run off after putting people in such danger that it would be irresponsible to chase after them. Catching the sorts of people who make the lives of superheroes such agony is rarely as easy as it seems, miss." He frowned at the dirty asphalt for a few moments, deep in thought of the people who had escaped justice despite his best efforts. 'If they were my best, why were they not enough?' Shaking that off, he looked back up and smiled "But this time, I dare say a group like this can make sure White Knight stays behind bars for good. Or at least for a good long time." He glanced over at Crow as he lugged Frank out of the dumpster and began interrogating him "Let us wait for one moment while Crow finds out what we need to know to stop them, then we strike." 'These are long odds, but these two appear capable enough that there is little danger.'
