Let's see what he makes of that: 4+15=19. The Rig(for such he is called) is scared off.

GM Her enemy gave a horrific shriek of pain and surprise, and Blue Jay saw that the man's leg was torn completely open! But instead of what normally was concealed by skin, a flood of red-tinted water came rushing out, the 'man' revealed to be mere water in a bag to give it shape. In moments the body had completely disintegrated into a puddle of reddish water that after sliding uncertainly about the sidewalk for a little while, its edges lapping at the ground like it was searching for something before it gathered itself, coiled, and shot up four feet into the air to return to the grave-looking Paris who had stopped to observe the conflict. It coiled around his arm, appearing to seep into his body by osmosis. "You are better than I thought" he confessed aloud, his voice carrying clearly to Blue Jay, ignoring the ring of Freedonians who were gathering around to watch with guarded calls of encouragement for the girl with the bow. -------------------------------- Meanwhile, Synth had been called away to see her boss after a short conversation with strange blond man, sending another to man the stand in her absence.

GM The area for several hundred feet around the center of government was a crawling with police, including STAR squads and several vans of SWAT teams. A small cluster of suited government agents and the heads of the police department were murmuring to each other in a ring of squad cars as they observed the situation from beside a table covered with maps of the local area. The officer thumbed over to the gathering "If they called you in, better speak with those guys, they're drawing up a battle plan in case the negotiations fall through" he sighed and pushed back his cap morosely "A shame the 'League is over in Iran helping deal with that big monster in the Caspian Sea" he commented as he returned to his post, smiling cheerfully and waving to Starlight as he passed by.

Wave-Eye had strayed too close to the shore again. "Curse my weakening heart" he snarled to himself as he soared from rooftop to rooftop, tough claws digging shallow grooves into the roofs as he jumped. So far he had come across one human trying to attack and rob another, and had stopped the wretch by landing next to him and staring silently at the would-be robber. The sounds that he knew by now where humans calling for help, or fleeing from danger had been slowly driving him mad, and there were not monsters enough in the ocean to distract him from it. Falling out of the sky and landing in the alley(which he filled a non-trivial portion of with his bulk) with a tremendous *THUD*, he observed the situation for a moment before turning to the white-clad spearman, a harsh gurgle coming from his jaws that turned into "Hail, I take it you have this well in hand?"his enormous black eyes staring flatly at the divine sonic champion. The gigantic man dropped his victim and whipped his arm around the spear, stepping backwards to get a better look at the two interlopers. Clearly shaken, he still had the courage to adopt an aggressive stance and snarl "Don't get involved with this, super! This guy's not near as clean as he'll try and get you t'think. I'm just making sure a loose end of my employer gets tied up. You, and you" he pointed at Wave-Eye without daring to make eye contact "fishman, leave this to people who know what's going on, and clear out" he folded his arms and looked down at Gabriel, doing so with a 7ft tall triton being a little harder. "I have never known a human who that would work on" the fishman said mildly as he reached out and helped the other man to his feet with a spined claw-like hand, leaning him against the adjacent wall of a hardware store. "Wave-Eye" he added courteously, by way of introduction to the spearman "I look forward to this man's humbling."

GM September 12th, 2012, 1.45 P.M. City Hall The day had so far been profoundly boring for the civic government employees. So far there had been the usual pileup of bureaucratic duties and paperwork needing to be filled out and passed on to other departments, or else sent out to businesses, agencies and the various Freedonians contributing to the steady stream of licenses, fines, and sundry other aspects of modern life. Mayor O'Connor sat wearily in his office, squinting through his thin glasses at the carefully-worded email A.E.G.I.S. Director Powers' secretary had sent him and wishing the ear-achingly-loud helicopter flying by would hurry up. Running a hand through his hair limply, he sighed and read the last sentence again. "'So, with all due respect Mr. Mayor, I don't think their presence is necessary'. Really, Harry?" he said to himself sarcastically as he began to busily check through a report on the state of the city roads in Lincoln "You're certain you know these people that well?" he shook his head "Alright, if you think that's best, I won't try and talk you out of it." Turning his full attention back to the almost completely positive report, he failed to notice the the fatigue-wearing man sneaking in through his propped-open window before it was too late. The hand roughly grabbing his shoulder and slamming him against the wall hard enough to dent it was his first clue that something was up, the sound of his attacker entering masked by the throbbing chops of the helicopter blades. Grunting in surprise and pain, Michael tore himself free and tensed himself, about to try and fight back when with a click his assailant backed up, drawing a rifle and aiming it directly at his face. "Don't even think about it, gramps" he snarled, his eyes behind the balaclava cold and murderous "from now on, your life belongs to OVERTHROW!" From the low-flying helicopter and a trio of dark vans screeching to a halt in front of the local center of government, armed members of the terrorist group stormed into the white-washed building, quickly disarming the guards and herding the now-terrified government workers into the lunch rooms and higher levels. In mere minutes, the helicopter was landed on the eerily-deserted main plaza of the hall, the vans pulled up onto the municipal lawns with a group of terrorists to guard them, and already the wail of sirens could be heard, the flashing blue and red lights of the racing police vehicles clearly visible to the four snipers crouched among the decorations on the corners of the roof. ----------------------------- News of the attack spread almost instantly, with twitter feeds, the various news channels getting as close as they dared to the scene of the attack, and word-of-mouth racing throughout the metropolis that armed men had taken captive their seat of government captive! Within the hour, the agents of OVERTHROW gave their demands to the television news networks, sending out an unmasked man in heavier armor than most of the others: "We categorically refuse to release your tyrannical mayor unless we receive the following:" he said, donning wire-frame glasses as he read from a sheet of paper "The firing of every person currently employed by this city's monument to managerial mediocrity and licensed waste of talent, replaced by the peerless members of our group we will bring before you for installment" smiling thinly at the blank stares that earned him he went on "As well, the freeing of Austrian citizen Hamilcar Kramer, AKA Weissnacht from Blackstone Penitentiary, the closing of that unnatural and unlawful prison, the rescinding of all laws permitting dangerous costumed vigilantes to operate freely in this city, and disallowing any reprisals against any of us involved with this act of regrettable but necessary terrorism!" he concluded forcefully, calmly removing his spectacles and folding the paper neatly into his pocket "Are there any questions?" As might be expected, there were.

Per the Biomancer: Another escaped Grue wouldn't hurt, the Unity is a terrible place after all. But I would say myself that it would be closer to your goal of making the character down to Earth by having them be a normal kid. Perhaps they have a looming tragedy in their home life, like Aoiroo suggested, or they've seen how freakish it looks in action and for whatever reason want to try and make it less of a horror to others by using it for helping and healing.

GM The crowd below gave a tremendous roar of applause and whoops of excitement when Riff and the rest of the band appeared onstage. Gleeful chants of the band's name rising into an almost physical wall of noise as the first cords blared out, and the first song began. Those who knew the words sang along, though they were mostly drowned out by the less coherent shouts, screams and wails from the audience. The crew had done outstanding work, with not a single technical failure springing up to ruin a second of the song. --------------------- the air trembled briefly There was a brief silence --------------------- The woman said something crisply in Greek, turning on the heel of her immaculate running shoes and walking off down the blazing sidewalk. "<I am sorry>" the man said to Blue Jay flatly, his features shifting and skin wobbling as another of him tore away from his body, and followed Taker "<But I have to do as I am told, you know?>" with a sudden movement his arms flowed out inhumanly, followed by the rest of him as he turned into a sphere of water that encased the archer from neck to ankle.

DC25 TOU is too high for them to possibly make, they are dropped.

Subito laughed heartily at Victoria's anecdote about her Russian-speaking soccer team. "I know what you mean Vi-er, Victoria" he amended hastily, catching the sharp glance of his mother "I've seen stuff like that happen just around here, when the Brasilian and Mexican kids play soccer get mad they start yelling at each other in Spanish and Portuguese, to let 'em know they're being insulted and keep them from knowing what to say in reply" he shook his head ruefully "It can get pretty silly, I tell ya!" he said with a wry grin while piling wraps and fruit onto his plate. "Subito Sondo, the great humanitarian" Rodrigo said blandly and with a cold twitch to his lips as he selected with great care one of the sandwiches and a small pile of cheese.

OOC for this thread. When Wave-Eye met Gabriel.

GM August 8th, 2012, 8.40 P.M. Over the years the urban decay of the Southside district had become almost a byword for the darker side of Freedom City. Quite different from the relatively compact poverty and desperation in the Fens, the Southside rot had spread over several square miles and dug its fingers more subtly but no less intractably into the lives of the people, their shops and small factories that made up the heavily-populated area of the city. Most of the real danger was at night, obviously. Feet and heart pounding furiously on the cracked pavement, the middle-aged man raced down the street, his dark skin deepening into a cold black as he raced through the shadow cast by a squat hardware store. Breathing was slightly painful by now, and he thanked his lucky stars that he had decided to keep practice running at all. Glancing behind him, he slammed heavily into a wall that hadn't been there before. Collapsing to the ground, his blurry vision cleared to behold a man broad and thick enough to actually be mistaken for a wall. Lifting the man up by his collar, he was tossed in a heap against the chain-link fence of a nearby alley, crashing his left shoulder painfully against the asphalt. With a groan, he began desperately "Please..I-I won't tell the cops abo-" a punch that painfully drove the breath from his lungs silenced him. "No. You won't" came the quiet reply, the mountain of a man lifting his prey up, aiming his fist for another blow, slamming one of his feet into the ground to steady himself for what looked like to be the mother of all punches...

Constance is speaking English, there's a slight British accent. Business: the Universidad has recently been in superb financial health due to an explosion of extraordinary devices designed by the students there. Current Events: An exhibition was held there a few weeks ago demonstrating several new super-science inventions themed around the manipulation of sound, which was abruptly closed after an inexplicable tragedy occurred during. Chief among the objects being exhibited was a machine capable of transforming other forms of energy into sound. Theology/Philosophy: Most of the student body is of a socially liberal political bent.

The piercing claws stabbed into the young mantle-bearer, easily penetrating past the jacket that barely impeded them, the horrible jerking and numbing sensation spreading through his limbs at a terrible speed when they bit into his flesh. The vampire's claws were stopped dead at the skin of his torso, ringing like they had struck iron. Just when it seemed like he was about to suffer an awful , however, El Heraldo managed to summon the power of La Dama Azul, stifling the muffled scream of pain that nonetheless escaped from his lips as a faint glow burst from him, taking back control of his body from the dreadful attack! He glared at Glow, the slight irritation he felt at the oblique suggestion magnified by the pain. "Sure! I'll start doing that as soon as I can, Aussie!" he barked angrily, trying to make himself heard through the water and glass "I just need to stop losing horribly for a second!" he punctuated the words with a dash towards Tethys, arms streaming bubbles through the bloody water as he missed the vampire by several feet, the aquatic predator easily avoiding the attack.
