DC25 TOU check vs a +12 TOU bonus. 22, a Bruise. Concentration check to maintain the Disk, DC20)10+Damage bonus): 20.Huh. Your turn King. EDIT: And of course the TOU save for the disk: 24, a Bruise.

Their SM roll(+1 due to having been tricked in the past): 14. Failed. Heraldo will make aBluff roll of his very own to try and distract Strongarm from their disagreement, which if sccessful will reduce the DC to change his attitude further by 2. 20., Sense Motive roll(DC reduced by 2, as it conflicts with Strongarm's intentions): 16. Fails.

Putting back the mini-tracer he had almost offered as the distinguishing mark or item, the King of Suits nodded and drew his grapple gun, ready to follow the Penitent to their destination. He had a lot of experience talking to people involved with cases like this, --Though usually,-- he thought --they aren't witnesses to murders, or survivors of murdered people. The Fens is pretty grim compared to even the worst haunts of Lithuania-- He follows the horned man's lead without comment or question, running, leaping, swinging or climbing after him tirelessly.

Subito was a little worried by now. His powerful hearing made Cerys' quiet voice much more audible to him than it was to even hyper-attentive sorts like Morgan and John, and the underlying tone(and her quietness in general) struck him as a little off. He admittedly didn't know much about her upbringing, but it sounded now almost cultish. Then again, the Evil she was talking about is probably pretty tough and takes a lot of training to beat he pointed out to himself not necessarily a sign they were bad folks. Aloud he said "Glad you're happy with this Cerys, some new people like a little time to themselves to get a feel for the place," he gave a friendly grin and wave to the exchange primate Sachi as she hastily scurried past, a nervous face nearly hidden behind an armfull of reference books even he would probably find cumbersome "some others go out and make a dozen new friends in the first half hour they get here. Hey Rick, how's it going?" he added cheefully as they walked by a strongly-built teen with Hawaiian features talking avidly to a small circle of students about a battle between his father and an army of giant crabs, getting a smile and friendly thump on the shoulder. "We've got all sorts, as you can see, I'm sure you'll find something to like about being here."
-
'American'? is this flag on my back not enough? "Don't worry" El Heraldo assured her gently "Glow and I will do our best to make sure you don't get sent back to that place. But why," he asked in puzzlement "why have no heroes arisen to battle this 'El Sierpe'? There are not a a few mighty beings living in Mexico that would jump at the chance to bring down a prominent crime lord like him, does he have some special protection? I know speaking of this vile man must be fearful, but...what has he done to get such power?" he knew that this was pressing it, and that the unfortunate woman might very well refuse to answer the question entirely, but he wanted to know at least a hint of what was going on. he knew quite well that while the majority of supers could be found in or around North America, the South and Central Americas had their share of valiant champions Someday, I'm gonna be one of 'em he thought with sudden ferocity.

Subito nodded shortly "Good thinking, at least if the next place has some kind of horrible booby trap or giant demon summoned by ancient computers with like 20MB of RAM and thus horribly cranky, he'll know what we were up to. Let's head back!" he said cheerily, leaping to his feet, swinging his arms through the loops of his backpack and walking briskly for a few feet before stopping short, a sudden realization hitting him "Hey, Surge..what about your phone? Didn't you show me once how you could boost its signal range or something? Or will that not work with that..whatever that's messing with battery-powered stuff?"

GM Flinching a little as the arc of electricity narrowly missed him, making a shallow pool of melted tarmac just next to him and noticeably standing his hair on end, the armored man quickly laughed off the assault, calling over jeeringly "Ha! A pitiable attempt, even for someone who wields such outdated weaponry as native powers! The chain of native standing will be broken, and with artifacts and devices such as these" he gestured to his armor and the Eye "We shall reign over this planet as never bef-!" he was abruptly cut off by Stormbreaker's attempt to imprison him inside a whirlwind. The whip of air swirled about the glowing man, reaching out with ephemeral fingers to sieze him and kicking up a great deal of dust dislodged by earlier attacks. However, with a neat dive the Amber Curse threw himself away from the attack, regaining his footing with little difficulty despite his cumbersome armor. With a sniff of disdain he brushed off the dirt that marred his orange metal finery. Raising the Eye on its chain he said something in a language neither of the two could understand, with syllables like a castles and adjectives like flowing rivers. With a rasp and hum of energy, a wide and flat disk appeared high in the sky, which he neatly flew up onto, spread his arms up towards the rampart-like clouds, and commenced to proclaiming "Neither of you can stand against me! Your attacks are feeble, your tactics ill-planned, your weapons not nearly up to the task! I, The Amber Curse, will make both of you into the first bricks of the pyramid of death that must be raised to RULE THE WORLD! Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!"
-
Sadly no. Next round. The Amber Curse: Unharmed-GM Stormbreaker: Unharmed, 1HP Voltage: Unharmed, 3HP Amber will construct a floating 40-foot diameter disk 70ft. above himself, then fly up onto it. Free action to Gloat like mad.

Subito was getting a bit unnerved by the attitude of his comrades. 'S one thing to be confident in the face of danger he thought another entirely to be treating these guys like they're nothing. For all that he knew little about the gang they were fighting, he DID know that actively mocking people while fighting them made them more likely to try to settle the score. Then again, as Glow neatly dispatched the people who seemed like the servants of the two women, and Crow seemed to call up hurts the giant snakeman had suffered before, he admitted this was at least a little bit borne of jealousy at how litle he had managed to do in the short time they'd been fighting. After all, in only a couple of minutes at most the majority of their foes had been quickly defeated before he could so much as land a punch. So he decided to do something rather..strange. With a fierce and precisely-aimed uppercut that drove his fist into Cottonmouth's torso(and jarreing his arm fiercely), he sought then to fold the man's lower body against his upper, hoist him over his head, and throw him bodily at the younger woman who seemed to be the second-in-command. The sheer sinuous slithering ability of his foe proved to be a little much for him though, and Cottonmouth managed to wrestle out of El Heraldo's grasp with ease. By TH- Peace Hrmmmmggg...

As Subito staggered out of the church, the horrific vision fell away like scales from his eyes, and he stared in mute bafflement at the semi-circle of ragged foes arraigned against him for a few moments before placing a hand over his heart, calling upon the power vested in him with a Ye Dame, I beg your aid!, transforming in a flash of light into the heraldic and dashing El Heraldo! Raising his fluttering Bandera above his head, he said in a loud voice "Your clothes: be mended!" and with a lusty shout of triumph, a stream of red, white and blue swirled around the garments of the townsfolk, turning their aging and weakening clothes as good as when they had been sewn together. Slamming the butt of the flagpole into the ground Subito leaned on it, fixing each of the m with his dark eyes in turn, saying in a firm voice "Good people, I have no quarrel with you. I spoke roughly with your Reverend, perhaps, but he struck the first blow! You worship some serpentine god named Set, I judge? Well then, let Set's chosen champion deal with us! And if we defeat him, then you shall not strive with US. I shall return if your shepard falls." He concluded, turning around sharply and hefting the banner over his shoulder as he walked back towards the church.
-
Alright! Diplomacy roll: 11. Critical fail! This shoudl be hilarious.
-
If it's alright, I'm going to use the Repair Clothes Feature, and then make a Diplomacy check to try and persuade the gang to wait until their Reverend has dealt with both him and YB.

Sliding neatly into the ventilation tunnel('shaft' seemed inappropriate considering the hefty materials and solid construction of the place). the King of Suits made sure to keep as careful a distance as he could from Jane, which in the cramped confines amounted to little more than a couple of feet. A short look at the gloomy way, revealing only musty shadows and smooth stone, got a quiet sigh of relief out of him, followed by an idle rumble of "Well..looks like there isn't much to detain us, but just to be sure..." Slipping a pair of night-vision goggles from a pouch on his belt, he glanced at the way ahead, humming quietly to himself until something unexpected caught his eyes. "...Ah, I spoke to soon" he said regretfully, neatly 'cuffing Jane's hands behind her back as he began to creep forward in a rather spidery fashion "Do you see it Silhouette?" he asked a little nervously, flicking a fold of his cape aside to get at what looked like a card marked with the suit of Diamonds.

Now for a true display of power! Going to pick up Cottonmouth(Move Action), and throw him at Dhalia(Standard). Attack roll(accurate Attacking (+-4) 17. Rerolling. 15, which is now 25, which hits! Grapple check: 24. Huh. If that succeeds, going to Throw him at Dhalia Attack roll(Accurate Attack +-3): 8. Awesome.

Both see pretty clearly that something is coating the walls just where the light gets weakest, something that puts even the local absence of light to shame for darkness.

Also, one small thing: what about using Confuse instead of Paralyze for the Realm of Madness attack?

GM With the assistance of the grapple gun, it was child's play to climb up to the metal vent grate, which yielded easily to the combined efforts of the two heroes, the cultist seeming almost put out that she wouldn't get to be horribly killed by a shadow snake monster. As shards of grilled iron clattered and banged down onto the sloping(and now rather dented, cut and burnt) floor below, the cramped and dusty passageway in front of them dimmed rapidly as it proceeded further into the bizarre cult hideout, with the usual tricks of light and shadow creating the illusion of movement deeper within.
-
Skipping past the 'breaking down the grate' part, because it's kind of not relevant. Alright, Notice checks, DC20. KoS's: 28.

GM There was a brief silence punctuated by dull rumbles and bubbling as the creature looked a little unnerved by the blunt and open challenge. After a few moments glancing back and forth between the four humans it at last began nervously "Ah...I..er, yes. I am not inclined to violence, I will comply readily with your request. I have some scanning equipment set up around the screen, I would advise you at least give it a glance before shutting down the portal. I am sure none of us want to accidentally level this facility!" it joked nervously, looking at the shimmering circle of black and red. "By the way...how much power can you two consistently generate for..around ten minutes?" it asked Ironclad and Supercape suddenly "I have tried to close it several times myself, but each time I run out of..'Terminus energy' you call it? Yes, I run out of the power I generate from that before I can close the portal. A little annoying really, having to keep that portal open for so long. At least I can funnel the excess energy into those storage tanks behind the walls.".

"An excellent idea" agreed Marceau "Iif there is some tactic or limit to the imposter's powers that helped him live, learning it would be invaluable. Which of us do you think should go with you to talk to this Mr. Edelstien?" he asked "I look fairly ordinary, but if our customer comes around for another try I won't be a vast help in such a fight" he admitted "Lady Revenant is not only passable as a regular human, but also quite good at talking to people, as well as very strong and resilient from my experience, she might be your best bet. Mr. Penitent would be difficult to disguise and might arouse a rather negative reaction, though he would be admirably suited to dealing with this vile doppelgänger" the lean Frenchman shrugged, letting his cape swish around to the front and cover most of his upper body, thingking hard what to do. "Perhaps, and this a great 'perhaps', we could split into two parties, with you and Revenant going to talk directly with our Mr. Edelstien, while I and the Penitent wait at soem concealed location outside in case of an attack?"

Wave-Eye Costumed by AA Adding to the description with an actual costume. Apologies. "In imitation of the heroes who protect the surface world he wears a costume in the form of light ornamental bronze armor decorated with carvings of sea life." Player Name: Arichamus Character Name: Wave-Eye Power Level: 8 (120/132PP) Trade-Offs: -4 Attack/ +4 Damage (Conch) Unspent Power Points: 12 Progress To Silver Status: 12/60 (Bronze status earned with King of Suits) In Brief: De-powered and disgraced triton who has come to Freedom City hoping to gain entry to the Freedom League(believing them to be Siren 's retinue), and make amends for what he's done. Alternate Identity: Nochehuatl Identity: Public Birthplace: What is now the Rocas Atoll off the coast of Brazil. actual birthplace lost in geologic shifts. Occupation: Marine guardian, superhero. Affiliations: Atlantis, sea gods, marine creatures, Freedom City Coast Guard, Charity. Family: Chimali(biological father, long deceased), Tlaloc(stepfather) Chalchiuhtlicue(mother) Description:Age: 12,007 (DoB: 9989 B.C. Apparent Age: N/A Gender: Male Ethnicity: Red-scaled from waist to foot(when transformed), otherwise vaguely ruddy, with prominent facial features with no distinguishable analog to human ethnicity. Height: 7ft. Weight: 400lbs./181.4kg. Eyes: Blue. Hair: Dull green. Nochehuatl is an unusually tall, broad-shouldered, roughly human sort. His broad mouth full of sharp teeth, interconnected hairs, bulging eyes(a trait he inherited from his father), spined, claw-like hands and reddish, finely scaled skin proves otherwise however; not to mention the fact that he can transform his legs into a powerful tail, tipped with a dragon's arrowhead. A marker of his cultural origin, he retains the piercings, tattoos and ritual scars that cover most of his body from head to tail from his days in the armies he has fought with. In imitation of the heroes who protect the surface world he wears a costume in the form of light ornamental bronze armor decorated with carvings of sea life. Power Descriptions:None of his external powers have returned yet, though he can change his tail into a pair of scaled legs similar to a humans with a flash of light. History:A "triton" is one of two things: the oceanic deity and messenger of the sea, or one of the manifold children of sea gods who serve as guards and solders of the marine deities. Wave-Eye is one of the second. Born thousands of years ago off the coast of what was to become Brazil to the ancient human sailor Chimali, and Chalchiuhtlicue the Aztec goddess of water, Nochehuatl lived many years in the rush of constant training, eager to take his place in the serried ranks of the marine deities' armies. His adoption by the dreaded fertility god Tlaloc after his marriage to Chalchuihtlicue was a profound impetus in that direction due to the god's distinct disfavor on a half-blooded creature as his ward. In those days, the waves hurled and crashed over an immense, bitter struggle for control of the waters of the planet, into which he enthusiastically flung himself at the tender age of 56, an auxillary commander in the army of his mother. His motivation by filial affection was tempered somewhat by the ever-present fear of his father, who while he ruled a pastoral afterlife of ease and plenty, never lost his taste for blood. One of his first duties as a young triton was to gather the souls of those sacrificed to his father and bring them to the Tlalocan, which left an indelible impression on him, a mingling of fear at what the god demanded in return for his services, and awe that people would give so much for them. In contrast to his distant paternal relationship, he often saw and spoke with his mother in her murky home far below the surface, in the underground lakes and rivers that he spent much of his childhood in and learned the rudiments of morality in her care. At the age of 240 he obtained his parent's permission to leave his home, and travel abroad, where he fought for and against nearly every power in the waters, watching with curiosity as the Atlanteans built up their civilization after sinking beneath the waves. He tended to avoid them, as they had little love for creatures like him. By the time the majority of the war was over in 4000 B.C., he had been banished into the worming caves beneath the surface of the Earth, serving whatever dragons or small gods would have his power, deformed by a curse of the dragon Mizuchi to bear a mark of shame for his initial refusal to send deadly serpents into the boats and homes of fishermen who refused to worship him(an incident resulting from the stirrings of a late-born conscience), gnawing the bitter anger of his shaming for what he saw as a foolish and childish exercise. At length, as he slid and swam through the dark caverns of the world, he heard rumors of the slow changes, and he felt the shift of the dimensions at the sealing of the Pact. Encouraged by this though grieved that it would now be much harder to visit his parents, he ventured out into the wider world of the dimly-remembered waters in the year 1500 A.D. In the ensuing ages, he gave his strength to whatever cause seemed kindest and most likely to benefit humans. However, aside from bringing fish to people and driving away sea monsters, his efforts were distressingly limited. It was in the year 2004 A.D. that he first heard about Siren, from two Newfoundland fishermen. The paucity of truly beneficial work he could do led him to thinking: seeing as this Siren did good works all over the world, maybe he could make up for some of his evil actions towards humans if he got into her service. After deliberating for the better part of a decade, he finally set out for the Freedom City in 2010, taking care to reconnoiter the waters around the city as best as he could. In the centuries after the 1800's, he had done very little in the way of exercise or combat practice, and so had gradually retreated from battle altogether, leaving him in a state he knew was downright pitiable compared to his old glory. At last, in 2012, he ventured into the city itself, centuries since he had last walked among humans... Personality & Motivation:After all that's happened to him, Nochehuatl is grim. A life filled with endless struggle, battle and nearly ceaseless killing on the behalf of others has deeply embittered him to fighting after learning its real cost, but it's the only thing he's known or fully understood in eons, and old habits die hard. The ancient gods hold the majority of his awe(though he knows how selfish and cruel most of them can be), but humans he has much more indeterminate feelings about, a mingling of curiosity at what they'll end up doing in the physical world and envy that he'll never really be part of it. On the other hand, he bitterly regrets the evils he did to them in the past, and has been wondering how to make up for them in the eons after he was cursed. Ultimately he has no idea what he really wants to do, whether to remain in Siren's service if he gets into it, seek out something higher, or to find a way to become more human in his morals and thought. Powers & Tactics:The deterioration of his skills has reduced the once nigh-legendary warrior to a simple brute. He leaves finer combat to others, and simply lunges into the fray, relying on his diminished strength to win the day for him. Defensively, his skin is tough enough to repel small arms fire, and even the shots of a machine gun, so he rarely seeks cover unless he absolutely needs to. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Complications:Monster!: Nochehuatl looks quite fearsome to humans, and his appearance is likely going to get him into trouble sooner or alter. Reputation: Among magical circles, Nochehuatl's history as a a brutal mercenary is well-known, and finding allies amongst such beings might be that much more difficult. "This looks like a job for...!": He tends to assume he knows more about a situation than he really does, which translates to him attempting to take the lead on things he often knows next to nothing about. I'll be sure to put that into practice next time. 'm usually pretty timid with fiddling about with the physical hardware of computers so for me tampering with that one cord was desperation itself.
