Making an Intimidate roll, accompanied by an action to bend the barrel of the shotgun into a rough torus. The Roll: 26.
-
I see. I wonder if he's in league with the Snake People? Come to think of it, this reminds me of the last time I tangled with them. Though this time I didn't have much warning. ""Do I understand?" I do indeed." came the crisp and businesslike reply, and with a rasp of his boot on the rough ground, El Heraldo stepped forward, snatching the gun off of the man, its snapping belt and dangling holster following the weapon's departure. Holding it up to the eye level of the man in front of him he said sternly "This? This shall not protect you if you attempt to do evil in this city. Now, I ask again: who are you, and what are you doing here?" While he spoke, he had grasped the end of the sawed-off barrel and was slowly, for maximum effect, bending the entire thing around in a short loop, ending once the muzzle was a couple of inches from the stock. The sound of the groaning metal was like a file against his ears.

The gun. Way more dangerous, after all.

Okay, going to now try and take his weapons away. Attack Rolle: 13. Bah.

Going to use Sense Motive(because it's higher): 17. He sees through your scared-making, servant of Yig!

....Oh. Darn. I didn't think we..ugh. El Heraldo's face noticeably fell when Seamus told them what time they had come to. His voice was cheerful and strong enough though "Indeed? Thank you Seamus. If you could show us the direction our quarry was going, that would be quite helpful as well." Alright, 1863 in America was...looks pretty late in the year, maybe this is around the time of the Battle of Chattanooga? Need to ask about how the war's going or something I guess He started as his new, more period-appropriate attire flashed into existence, inspecting it with a whistle of admiration to Agnus "Good thinking, Lady of Justice! This way we won't be so easily foreseen by our enemy" he rolled up the rough sleeves and adjusted the neckerchief before pulling his new flat cap closer onto his head. "Lead on" he said unnecessarily to their guide. He listened closely to Seamus as they made their way deeper into the Freedom City that he had only seen a few times, in old faded photographs printed onto the pages of history textbooks. He had to admit, looking about him he realized a little better what it must have been like to live back in this age. The sounds of the animals running around, the myriads of dogs, cats, birds, rats, distant clops and neighs of horses, all poured into his ears from a thousand sources. He suddenly felt very foreign, and was glad when they arrived at the stables, hearing the swish of the brushes and the thuds of the strong hooves long before it came into view. "Fast, huh? I guess he can't keep up that speed if he was going for the stables." He thought for a second "...Or he might just be wanting to not look weird, I guess. That could be it too." There was still the task at hand, and as much as he would have liked to just stand on a tall building and let the ruckus of the world drift around him, they needed to catch that cultist yet. Though he might as well ask, just in case... "Mr. Snape, it's not a nice thing to ask about, but I wanna know all the same..how's the war going? On the North's side, I mean" he corrected himself sharply "Heard of any recent victories or defeats?"

"Seein' as none of them will want to get beat up, hit with knives or otherwise hurt, most likely." answered Subito with a shrug. His attention was elsewhere, and the full import of Glow's question slid past him when his eyes alighted on someone he knew right off the bat couldn't be up to much good, not unless there was some chartiable work that could be done with what looked like a shotgun and machete. Pointng him out to the others he said more softly "That guy over there, in the coat. You see him? I'm gonna go see what he's up to." sliding the bandera into its holster, he walked directly up to the man with firm steps, looked him over gravely before meeting his(I't's?') saying in a clear voice "I am El Heraldo, who are you, and what are you doing with those weapons?"

The robot's will use Sense Motive to try and not fall for it: 3. They fell for it, Moiph!

GM In only a few minutes of effort, the two were back at the entrance to the strange factory. the deer skull hadn't been moved from where it fell, theworld outside was even colder than it had been before, and from the look of the grey sky it would soon be coming on noon. A sharp wind was blowing, which eased small drifts of powdery snow into the door chamber where it unceremoniously fell into the swiftly-running stream beneath the grate making up the odd cave.

History roll: 17. Really need to get him some freakin' ranks in History and Civics. First I'll make him worth a damn.

The word means 'iron', and has been used as a general symbol for strict discipline among some of the newer clans that have broken off from the Katanarchists in recent years, especially by the(relatively) young 'Bloody Halls' clan, who take great pride in the rigorous training their agents go through. Synth detects around eight humans nearby, all of them smell the same as the ninjas who attacked the bank, not to mention all of them have the smell of steel.

Notice check with El Heraldo and his Amazing Ears! 18. EDIT: Second Notice check requested: 18. ....What...

GM Arcturus: The prince stared at Marcus, eyes wide at the sudden revelation that the rune-maker spoke. His mouth moved for a few seconds in mute horror as the enormity of what his error might have resulted in imprinted itself firmly into his mind, his body gradually sinking into the high-backed chair with a rustle of his voluminous sleeves. At length he managed to say quietly "I..I had never considered even the possibility that Uncle Waker was telling the truth. I thought he was just trying to keep me from affecting the sociopolitical structure of our society or something, not trying to retain a balance in the world's elements..." Shaking his head slightly he said "I do not see the appeal in laboring you describe, but as it will do tremendous harm I will refrain from much interfering with them. Perhaps I should institute a day of rest" he murmured. His saddened face clearing he said with more majesty "We will take your words to heart, Marcus" glancing out the window he added "As well, we think our instruction here by our uncle is nearly completed, we will depart shortly for home. You may accompany us, if you wish" he said graciously. Heraldo: The temperature around him seemed to drop, and Strongarm stopped smiling. In an instant, he was a foot away from the young paragon, had grabbed him roughly by the jacket and was carrying him at tremendous speed to the top of Pyramid Plaza, where he stood in mid-air, holding him roughly in the air and looking El Heraldo dead in the eye. "Really? And why would I be inclined to do that, hm?" Net Fly: The on-board sensors registered a bizarre fluctuation in the local electromagnetic field as the robot ship's deflection and absorption shields flickered and then shut off entirely, which to Serge registered as a brief wash of green-purple light across his vision. The connection the smaller ship had to the Whole's robot-to-robot communications was filled with an electronic buzz as the crew discussed this abrupt problem. A majority ruled that investigating the cause would be their best reaction, and several dozen were 'detached' from their duties to learn of the deactivating signal's origin...

"That would indeed be helpful" agreed El Heraldo with good cheer("Lucky" he muttered in her ear as he got closer), dropping lightly to the ground next to Seamus, clapping him warmly on the shoulder with a broad red-gloved hand to let him know they were both corporeal. "Be at peace, Seamus Snape! We are not messengers from Heaven, but champions of Justice" he bowed his head slightly in Young Britannia's direction "and the Victory of the same. Once we are aware what year this is and which way this traitor to humanity has gone, we will be on our way."

Anyway, KoS will drop a smoke bomb, Obscuring Visual senses 50ft. around himself. Going to use a Move action to get up onto an old freight engine. Gremlins 10: Notice check on their parts to see if they can follow him, -2 to the result due to the obscuring smoke(-4 cumulative due to their WIS being 8). KoS's Stealth check: 22. Notice: 12, 10, 9, -2, 0, 8, 2, =2, 4, 2.. None make it(or really could), so they have no idea where to find him. General mayhem ensues.

DC27 TOU check: 13. Failed.
-
Need to know a few things first, what with KoS not being capable of Jube's speed. How far away are the giant mutated cats from Marcy's current position? How many Move actions would it take to reach them? Specifically, how close to/far from the cat Jubatus Snared is he? Are any of the others close to it, or is that the nearest one?

I hate my memory. That very much hits. 9. GM Fiating a reroll for that, HP for Sil. 25. Halved Physical Damage effect makes that a success. ORDER: Silhouette: Unharmed, 6HP Lesser Children of the Apeps(x3): Unharmed-GM King of Suits: Unharmed, 4HP Apep kiddies attack: #1 will make a Move action a bunch of feet(say 20 or so), and make with the shadow-blasts, shooting a lance of darkness out of its mouth. Attack roll: 9,, misses that time. #2 will and #3 will both move up to melee range of KoS and make Grapple attempts on him with their nefarious shadow-tentacles. #2 Attack roll: 27. Just hits., Grapple roll: 36. #3 Attack roll: 9. Miss. KoS's opposed check: 27. He's Pinned. #4 forgoes reason and makes a Fatigue attempt: 12. Miss. Sil's up. Silhouette: Unharmed, 6HP Lesser Children of the Apeps(x4): Unharmed,-GM King of Suits: Unharmed, Pinned, 4HP.

No need to apologize whatsoever.

Beg pardon, but I've recently run into a couple of roadblocks in getting my main desktop computer to work, and was hoping there's some kind of commonality to the issues I'm having. Basically, on startup the last few times with the new video card, I got a message telling me that a Boot Disk Error had occurred, and I should insert the system disk(which regrettably I didn't have at the moment), press enter, ecetera. So I reboot it, go into the BIOS menu, got the fail-safe defaults, and tried again. This time it got stuck right at the screen declaring the system was detecting IDE drivers, and I haven't been able to shift it from that since. Odds are good this is the result of something idiotic on my part, but I'm hoping it's not. EDIT: And now, for no immediately obvious reason, it started up fine all the way. Only thing I did was unplug and plug in a cord connecting to the hard disk.

GM With a fairly anticlimatic rattle, the hanging lights dimmed and flickered, the jolts of electricity partially obscuring the arrival of the the four slinking black shapes on the floor. Thin wisps of some black vapor wafted off of their completely lightless bodies, which disintegrated as it approached the lamps. None of them were much larger than a normal human, though that was still large for a snake, and something about them suggested a general immaturity, as though they weren't what they might be with more time. With a liquid hiss, one of them reared up to around eye level of the heroes, scanning them with invisible eyes as the others moved forward noiselessly, wincing as the light intensified, their tongues flickering as they tasted the air. Jane Guan gave a sigh of relief at the advance of the black serpents, and relaxed noticeably.

Four of the things, their Init roll: 21. KoS's: 16.

Ar-licht, moving on. Sorry it took so long, was helping put up a fence. Anyway. Lesser Children of Apep: Awkward as all Hell, but I didn't like the idea of fielding an enemy neither of our Brave Heroes could actually damage in any way.

Okay, the next opponents are done. Want me to post them in here or would you prefer if I didn't?
