Okay, question is: did Ms. Hart know anything about this 'serpent empire', making her a target for agents of this empire?
-
Hmmm. Sure! I'll go with that.

The Peurto-Rican teen hadn't been able to provide much more than he'd given over the phone earlier that day, and with every question he wasn't able to answer, he sunk a little more in his seat. It was a relief to hear the rolling pen, and read the address marked down on it. The moment he was relinquished from police custody, he set off at a quick pace through the busy streets to the place the address signified. Subito was almost as well-versed in the city as a native, and it was no trouble finding his was to the building housing the recording studio. The name certainly caught his eye, at any rate. As soon as he caught sight of Agnes, he fairly leaped towards her, whispering nervously "So..what are we gonna do?"
-
"It shall be done" Wave-Eye hissed comfortingly "I have sworn it, haven't I?" he added more lightly, and with a few crunching steps on the gravel he tossed himself into the river mouth, a dull flash of light signalling that once again his powerful dragon's tail sped him through the waters. As he swam peacefully along, through the murky, rather polluted channel, past drifting bits of human, vegetable and inorganic rubbish that fell slowly down to the depths, he said to Skull Face casually "About that back there..that oath? It is now quite impossible for me to NOT seek out this murderer. I hope you don't mind the trip?" he asked with a tinge of real concern, the recollection of what the disembodied skull had said about his people ringing warning bells that carrying him through the sea might not be the best thing to do. At the very least, he wanted to know early if he would have to drop Skull Face off somewhere(the 'somewhere' did raise worrying questions though...).

My apologies for slacking off with this one.

GM With a dull roar of power, Steve's lance of power slammed into the fleeing robot hard enough to partially crush one of its arms, not to mention bending its main body, causing it too to partially shut down while its systems tried to figure out what was happening. With a whine of hydraulics and thrum of servos, it bent like a spider into a ball, digging its heavy metal claws into the wall, holding on for dear persistence. Clearly the fight was nearly over, as even Weissnacht seemed to be aware. "I'm really going to have to work on their reaction times" his electronically muffled voice muttered, sending echoes throughout the skyscraper "this is just ridiculous"

Okay, DC27 TOU check for the Sneakbot 1: 21. So it is now Dazed and Injured. Round Five: Ironclad: Unharmed, 4HP Sneakbot 1: Dazed, Injured(x1) Penitent, the: Unharmed, 0HP Corp. Cosmos: Unharmed, 1HP Sneakbot 2: Disabled, Bruised(x1), Injured(x1) You're up again Rav.

GM With a roar of the unholy flame, the robot's innards were seared and badly melted, it moved with a few sluggish jerks before grinding to a halt, its systems a mass of confusion as the damage caused overwhelmed its capacity to function. As it stood, the thing was likely to start falling apart if it tried anything risky, like moving at more than a snail's pace or using its cannons and powerful servos. Meanwhile, the one that appeared to be the leader of the expedition quickly began leaping its way along the wall, eye fixed on the door marked with a sign warning of lethal voltage behind it. If it got to the room, it was difficult to tell what damage it would wreak. It was probably best to just keep it from getting there in the first place so nobody found out. The Corporal's cosmic attack that weaved its pure foundational energy into a destructive channel of raw power struck it squarely on its spindly back, only for the thing to manage a last-second twist that, mixed with an electric discharge over its carapace, dispersed the energy harmlessly. Turning its back on the heroes, it slid open gun ports nested there and fired a vicious salvo at Ironclad.

OOC for this thread. Daeva and El Heraldo try and keep the peace against unguided power in wayward young hands.

GM Bayview, South Bay St., 2012, April 7th, 12.45 P.M. The day dawned clear, the air was warm, the world hummed quietly and smoothly into gear, and a truly beautiful day was born! The new weekend was welcome to the young heroes-in-training that frequented Claremont Academy, and most of them hurried out the gate or took to their dorms in a flurry of excitement, eager to pack as much into the coming two days as they could. This eagerness was by itself normally harmless, but with individuals granted powers beyond those borne by the majority of the world, they could turn dangerous in an instant. Which was what made the fierce argument two Claremonters were getting into on the sidewalk that much more dangerous. Two young boys, one a towering hydrokinetic, the other a shorter, more powerfully-built teen with the power to move at near-light speeds(without affecting his mass, oddly enough) had just discovered they had diametrically opposing views on politics, and a slowly-built friendship was quickly being eroded... "That's just what HE said!" "Oh yeah, like that guy's all you need to know about the WHOLE philosophy of-" "Quit tiptoeing around the REAL issue, man! You just don't want to admit that's all your thinking leads too!" "Oh yeah!?" "Yeah!" It certainly wasn't going to peacefully resolve itself, and a fight between two powered students would draw attention, questions and thought best left unturned, unasked and unmade.

GM Glow: "A guy named Frank, he can make force-field things around himself, not really very good with them yet" Lucy looked more than a little awkward as she admitted "Neither of us were really prepared for what was down here, we just thought it was an abandoned base, maybe even an old hero's lair, we didn't expect to find OVERTHROW in here!" she was silent for the rest of the other Claremonter's efforts, staring in no little awe at Glow's resourcefulness. As the cuffs finally dropped tot he floor, she let out a whoop of excitement that was quickly stifled. "Sorry" she whispered, "I'll keep a lookout. I'm pretty sure there's an alarm on the door though, so be careful about trying to bust it off, which I'm sure you can do!" she added with an enthusiasm born of the newly hopeful situation. Net Fly: The Sensor Room was almost too obviously Star Trek-inspired. A molded, curvy white room blinking and pulsing with the many-monitered computers lining the walls, the twelve hurrying robots that bustled about the tiers of monitoring equipment surrounding a clear tube filled with some green liquid, and the peaceful atmosphere and ambiance that somehow survived the hostile territory. On the level he was on, Net Fly could see three routes to the computers that would let him pass the working robots unseen: a small maintenance tunnel that was clearly marked and let vertically and horizontally to nearly every computer in the Sensor Array, a roving platform carrying tool cases in or under which he could hide with ease, and a small elevator that could carry him to the top floor of the Array, where no robots could be seen. Each had evident disadvantages, of course.

Now to see if Subito notices that. 24. ...Fur Was? Okay...Knowledge(Technology) check, DC10: 5. nah, he has no idea what the problem is.
-
They've trying to get to something on the other side of the wall. it seems their pathfinding has gone completely haywire, and their legs don't seem operable. At least, they don't seem able to move them.

Hmmm..that's not bad at all Cubist! It has a very 'techy' feel to it, and the color blending does a great deal for it. My only caveat is that not all of the current roster are tech-based or conversant. Crusader has a magic shield, Quintessence was improved by Preserver-tech to become a flying brick, not a gadgeteer, and Stormbreaker is a magic space dragon with wind powers. So while it is fitting, I think the more general 'super-team' design of Thunder King's suits them better. But seriously, that is a cool logo. What do you guys think?

"I had totally forgotten that!" exclaimed the junior excitedly when Morgan casually revealed the cafeteria's special offering. Stir-fry wasn't his normal choice, but the kind the cooks made had bore its way deeply into his heart. Turning to Cerys as she had descended he'd begun to eagerly explain why this was a big deal "They have really great sesame and rice stuff that they put on the-" he was abruptly interrupted by the short, and to his eyes bizarre altercation between John and Morgan, which saw him mostly flicking his eyes between them as they spoke, baffled by the event. Giving a brief nod when told to lead her to the cafeteria, he rolled his powerful shoulders and beckoned silently, knowing depressingly well that he would still hear every word. "Sorry 'bout this," he muttered to the Welsh agent once he was out of the two's normal hearing range "this usually doesn't happen. People don't have much ill-will most of the time" he frowned at that and added "...pretty much never, as it happens. It'll blow over quick, is my guess" he declared more cheerfully as they stepped into the eatery. He gave a slight wave around the well-lit and airy place, at the neat rows of tables, benches and the banks of food-serving outlets staffed by the largely cheerful staff of the extranormal teaching institute. "Not much to look at, I suppose, but the food's really good! Give it a try" he urged her smilingly.

Yes. He even gives you the original to help with the practical side of recreating it. DC20 Arcane Lore to figure out what needs getting together and how to make it, DC24 Craft(Artistic) check to make the thing in question. (You may take 10 on the checks if you wish)
-
Totally hits. DC27 TOU check: 35. Unexpected...also IC! VideoGeek, your turn again!
-
For reasons best known to itself, it leaps 25 feet along the wall, turns and opens fire on Ironclad with its cannons. Attack roll: 18. Huh. DC25 TOU save, please. Shofet, you're up.
-
Yes, yes and yes. For reasons that defy all logic it's a metal spork. DC18 DEX roll to strategically smear blood over her wrists to help with getting the 'cuffs off(reduces final roll by 4) DC16 Wisdom check to properly use the spork in loosening the lock and the mechanical hinges that are part of the 'cuffs(reduces it by 2). DC18 STR check to loosen the 'cuffs with the slightly protruding bit of metal(reduces by 8). Final check: DC30 Escape Artist check, if all succeeded it becomes DC16(yes I know you can count, I'm a lot less sure of my own ability to keep track of this stuff ) EDIT: As agreed in Chat, the rolls have been changed to an Acrobatics, Concentration and Disable Device roll series. Still leading up to that Escape Artist check, and still the same DCs.
-
Point. I suppose acronyms might help with that, but agreed, they might just make it tedious to write out.
-
Vanguard has my vote too. Though we should really put some sort of adjective before it, or at least an epithet like "...of Freedom" or something.
-
Okay, after checking I'm now sure what's going on now, so... DC27 TOU check:27. Don't that just beat all... Okay, Sneakbot 2 is Disabled, Injured, Bruised and Dazed, so skipping its turn and going right to the next round. Order: Ironclad: Unharmed, 4HP Sneakbot 1: Unharmed Penitent, the: Unharmed, 0HP Corporal Cosmos: Unharmed, 1HP Sneakbot 2: Injured(x1), Bruised(x1), Disabled You're up again Rav.

The stocky teen frowned at the sky, mind abuzz trying to find if he had ever heard of a 'Mr. Hayden'. After several seconds inspecting the sky he began hesitantly "I've heard a little about him on the Discovery Channel, some kind of..archaeologist? He sticks to water digs, wrecked ships and stuff mostly, from what I can remember. Atlanteans don't like him too much, they narrator mentioned that they see him as acting like a grave robber, and that a lot of what he digs up shouldn't be brought back up. people in his line of work seem to like him, though." He rubbed his chin and glanced apologetically at Kristin "Sorry Kris, I have no idea where he'd live, Ms. Burke would be a better source for that than me. And I am so going to be doing the talking! If Sai-if Luke wants to talk with the dude, I've no objection, thought it would be better than him going with Morgan or hanging around" he rolled his eyes and turned to Morgan "That's a cool trick! Guess we should find out where the guy lives first" he walked quickly over to Ms. Burke to ask about that vital subject.

Also redone TOU check for the Sneakbot 2, as it was actually Bruised, Dazed and Injured just now. DC27 TOU check: 15. They are now..Disabled, Injured, Dazed and Bruised. Going to rule Sneakbot 1 was able to get up and is proceeding with all haste to the power room. 60ft away from it, 100ft. from the scuffle with its comrade.

Aaaaand apparently this is slowly turning into a HUGE error, so I'll try and fix this while it's still a relatively small one. Rav was aiming at Sneakot 2 the whole time, not Sneakbot 1(on the wall). So thus the bit with the Sneakbot 1 attacking ironclad makes NO SENSE. We'll amend out IC posts to remove this accident.
