Oh right, duh. 26, what...? So that's a DC19 Reflex save then.

Marceau glared at the possessed corpse with a sickening feeling of impotence. All he could do was just tangle it up in wires and weights to keep it busy, he had no way at all of really huring the spirit inside, and had no intention of harming the body if he could help it. With a grunt of illness-influenced anger he added a few yards more of line to the web the monster was in, wondering if he could possibly go looking for some kind of anti-spirit weapons. As it was he could at least keep Gallu from doing much with its hosts, he admitted to himself. <And it's not like I was unable to do anything with that, I led the Hands on a merry chase and tied them in knots for those SWAT gentlemen, I bested that fly-spewing old woman at the meat shop, and I'm keeping the beast from disrupting the ritual, why do i still feel like that isn't enough?> he pondered as he watched and listened like a hawk for any sounds of invasion <Why do I feel like I need to always have every tool for every occasion on hand? Something like this is so unlikely to happen! I fight gangsters, drug lords, human foes who my arsenal does more than enough to finish off. But still...> "Ostium clauditur ostium clausum est, Adaperire Adaperire!" he chanted, the horrid feeling of sickness nagging at him. He wished he had a demon-ejector card.

Reaching out a hand to take the sword, Subito handled it with a reverence more befitting a holy relic than an enchanted weapon. he stared at the burning surface for well over a minute before examining the rest of the item with great care, running a finger just above the flames and feeling the very real heat that emanated from the mystic fire. "This is..wow" he breathed, enthralled by something he had previously only imagined actually being in his hands. After handling it with as much care as a china cup and hefting it with microscopic daintiness to feel its weight, edge and smooth blade, he offered it handle-first to Morgan "Give it a try, it's an amazing sword" he urged the subtler student.

Of course.

"Search me" grumbled El Heraldo "I think he's checking up on the thing that was possessing the shark or whatever, and he can make himself invisible which I guess he did so he could work in peace" he looked over at Luke "Thanks, but now we have a new problem, mainly lots of questions that'll be pretty hard to answer without giving us all away. You want to help with the talking thing?" he looked over at Glow "Cool costume, you want to risk talking to the press, or do you wanna sit it out in case it turns into another 'Terror etc..' thing?" he checked over his flag for any unsightly rents or snags "I got no issues they might want to bring up, and I don't think Luke does either, so we're pretty well set if you don't want to get involved"

Happy birthday! May you live to see many more of them! OR ELSE :parrot:

The King of Suits leaned back against the wall of the tunnel, watching with interest as Voltage disabled the trap, freeing them to proceed. "Good work Volt" he said cheerfully "I believe marching order has already been established so..off we go!" he began fiddling with his gear, making certain he could get at it and draw it at a moment's notice without any fatal seconds lost to fumbling with straps, buttons, latches or or securing technology. Calling ahead to Synth and Spitfire(Wonder if he's related to that WWII hero? I should ask) he said "Lead the way, we're right behind you" he wished a more..durable sort had happened to be along with them, but Synth at least was insanely agile, and could most likely dodge most attacks they might find inside the old building buried beneath the bank.

...I was positive they were opposed by Sense Motive, but now I look they aren't, my apologies.

A Diplomacy check please Paragon, to see if James' words sway the energy being, opposed by its Will Save.

GM Glow: Kristin found herself staring at the back of one of the OVERTHROW agents, who clearly was not expecting someone to be using the secret passage system to get around their base. He and several others were aiming their weapons at the interior of the now-opened cells, the two Claremont students not visible but quite audible "Please, let us out!" a female voice vaguely familiar to Glow's ears called to the guards "Those things will take out anything within four feet of its target, and that includes us!" The agents were wholly unsympathetic "Sharrup kid!" snapped one of them with a red bar on her shoulder "You're collateral damage if the infiltrator DOES show up in your cell. Besides, only one of you will have to die for luring them in, so why not settle that issue now before it gets ugly?" there were two light robots armed with what looked like bazookas aiming them at sace between the opened cell doors. They were flanked by two agents each armed with some kind of heavy blaster weapon. Arcturus: Waker made furious signs to Marcus, but it was too late. A high male voice drifted down the stairs, impatient and curious "Who's that? Is someone else there with you Waker? You know what it will mean for your head if there is!" Waker cringed and glared pure death at Arcturus, shouting merrily through gritted teeth "Certainly NOT, Lordship! It is merely a..homonculus, just created, and wondering what is about it. It will not speak any longer" the glare intensified, if that were possible.

Initiative: 21. Okay, time for some experimentation: can I Move the giant Squid fellow by moving the water around it? Or am I limited to only moving the described material and nothing else inside of it?

On the one hand, I could go with the obvious thing that has worked every blame time and just layer another Snare on top of the Corpsepile. On the other hand, doing new things is always exciting. Coin-toss time, 1 for layering another Snare, 2 for attempting a Grapple. 1. Darn. Layering a Snare.

I have a suggestion: El Heraldo will carry/push the yacht, and Glow will be on the yacht carrying the cargo ship.

"A magic sword?" breathed Subito in awe at something so simple and so far beyond his expectations even then. "That is awesome! Can I see it? What does it do?" he turned to Morgan and asked excitedly "Is there a lot of stuff like that in the world, or are they pretty rare? Because if there is a single unclaimed magic sword in the world, I am going to find it and give it to somebody for Christmas" he thought that over "...Or maybe just give it to somebody really strong who won't be easily beaten by all the people who might come looking for a magic sword" he frowned for a few seconds at the unexpected complications of such a simple matter as obtaining an enchanted blade before turning back to Cerys "Also, did any of your relatives come with you in case that evil you mentioned attacks?" he looked her over and added quickly "Er, not that I don't think you're a good fighter, of course"

Subito had honestly not realized Glow was out of costume before Perry pointed it out. Of course, he could transform instantly, something few of his teammates could. Shrugging to himself he muttered "Eh, not like all of us can change as easily as me. And she did something after all" Descending to earth he glanced at the others and quietly adjusted his hat, asking the group as a whole "So..should we assign someone to be our general voice, or speak for ourselves? Not like any of us will want to give anything away, but not everyone likes talking with whole buncha people at once" He felt distantly annoyed at his performance against the shark, having not managed to even attract its attention or dent it or much anything. "Might as well ha' stood and gaped" he muttered inaudibly, looking over at the direction of the approaching human sounds he could hear.

The Armaments Belt is the Device Array in the Powers section, not the Utility Belt array in the Equipment list. And yes, it IS needlessly confusing having both of those.
-
Like so: rolled 1d20+8, got a four which makes 12 with the bonus. Now, the Sicken condition gives a -2 penalty to attacks, and the Power Attack trade-off was 3, so remove 5 from 12 and you get 7, thus my stated result.

GM Ten minutes later... After a little further inconsequential conversation, the four teens arrived at their destination, the humble Modern-styled Bayview Mall, with a small, inconspicuous sign near the main door cheerfully thanking the people of Freedom City for helping with its latest repairs, with an addendum profusely thanking the hero Dr. Metropolis. It was quite impossible to tell which wall had been blown out! The four debarked and made their merry way inside the warm building, which their brief trip through the wind-swept parking lot made all the more blessed. The Saturday crowd was out in force, people all around beginning, ending or prolonging their day's shopping expeditions, a two-level eating area with dozens of chairs, benches and tables for the use of customers, and overhead television screens angled to reduce glare showed news footage, films or commercials. Music cheerfully played at a reduced volume that to Subito's ears was a constant irritant. He swore internally that he wouldn't let it shift his mood in the slightest. Turning to the other three he said brightly "So..where to first?"

With a smooth motion Subito corrected his arm's position to rest it more comfortably across Janis's shoulders, sidling a few inches away to add a little space on the narrow seating. A mutter of "Sorry 'bout that" accompanying the change of posture. He was still adjusting to the idea of Janis as his date as well as a fellow student, which made him more than a little uneasy with the niceties of how you acted around her that was(from what his sister had patiently explained) both identical to and completely dissimilar from how he acted normally. He didn't want to give the impression that he didn't care for her romantically, while simultaneously he was resistant to coming across as more avid than he really was. Vick may have made her sound pretty amazing, but I really don't know too much about her, do I? he reminded himself soberly behind his grave smile. Aloud he said expansively to Janis "Their Italian is splendid! Olives steeped in saltwater, fine tomato dishes and such pastas as you can only imagine right now"

The powerfully-built youth stared at Cerys and Morgan alternately, remarking cheerfully after a couple of seconds "I had no idea the situation was so complex! It'll be quite enthralling to learn more about how their world works. So Ms. Pefr," he said, turning back to Cerys "You're from Wales, know at least five times as much as the average Joe about the Twylyth Teg, and overall strike me as a very cool person. How'd you come to Claremont? Can you use magic or something? I have a national spirit that gives me superpowers when I ask for 'em" he frowned "We don't actually have many magicians here, I wonder why" he looked thoughtfully at some point several hundred feet from where he was, where two other students were talking loudly about friends of theirs outside of the academy.

Marceau had gagged and quickly followed Rene's lead on countering the oral and nasal assault, chanting the sentence as best he could, and would have laughed aloud at how silly they all sounded if he wasn't fervently repeating the phrase that would mean their eternal rescue from the demon bull at the time. Despite that, he felt himself getting much weaker at a truly dangerous pace, and it was with no little fury and dismay that he saw the approaching corpse. While through gritted teeth he continued the spell, he grabbed a pair of bolas from the bag of them he'd brought along and threw it furiously at the thing's arms and legs, hoping he could stop Gallu from abusing the dead in such a fashion, at least until Rene and Marcel were available to exorcise the unfortunate's remains. It was a residual hope of his that he could at least find out who she had been before death and bring her body back to whatever family and friends she might have had for proper burial.

El Heraldo was fascinated by the way Glow's shield warded off the rain, sending it down the slopes of the bubble to turn into splashing rivulets. He wasn't mesmerized enough to not listen however, nodding as she finished and following her inside. Keeping the Banner near Glow's hand in case she needed to steady her self again(he remained floating), he wondered aloud "What about this was supposed to get anyone anything? The experiments that doctor guy was running just seemed to end up with people with no hope, or poor guys like Diego going crazy when they hear a phrase. Neither of those sound useful to anyone at all. I'd think it was just El Diablo making an example of people who try to escape him, but it just wastes resources he'd need in Mexico" he knocked off the water that had accumulated on his hat, looking ruefully at the sodden feather "What d'you make of all this, Glow?" he asked Kristin with clear frustration.

Ten thousand thundering typhoons! This Gallu is a total douchebag! Time to tie up the loose ends! Snare power Attack(+-3) attack with the Bolos on Mz. Deadcorpse: 8. Bedanged! Using a HP to reroll, if I have one: 7, +10 because the roll got a 4, so 17. DC17 Reflex save should that hit!

Fortitude roll: 10. Initiative roll: 27.
